Deactivating your FB page after the mess you caused for many people on Xmas won't save you from negative reviews. Just shows how cowardly the management are of criticism. Hang your head in shame. Embarrassing.

Steaks I ordered were off half cooked never will I use again even onion rings were soggy ended up binning the lot.hope place gets shut down

Christmas dinner, we arrived at the restaurant for our 3pm dinner reservation at 2:45pm, we were asked to sit in the bar until our table was ready as they were “falling slightly behind” no problem, ordered a round of drinks, the first issue arrived, no dark fruits on tap so strongbow and blackcurrant was used, this was flat and tasted terrible, 2 lager shandy’s made with flat tenants and flat lemonade, again tasted terrible, we ordered another round of drinks (bottled this time) and asked for an update at around 3:30pm, “we’re running slightly behind” by this time there are 4 groups waiting to be seated for their 3pm meal, a group got taken through to their table at around 3:45, at this time there were arrivals for the 4pm sittings, with 3 3pm bookings still to be seated, we finally got called through at around 4pm so we are already an hour late. When we got into the restaurant we saw the group that were taken through approximately 15/20 mins before us with no food in-front of them, we were standing for 5 mins before any of the staff members showed us to a table, there were no Christmas decorations at all, the tables were made up for a bar lunch not a Christmas dinner, we were talking to other families, there were people seated at 2:30pm who still had starters in front of them, there were people being asked if they were ready for mains when other people at the same table haven’t had any starters, and desserts being sent out before mains, so we seen some food coming out, the portions were absolutely abysmal, half bowls of soup, child size portions of Christmas dinner. We decided after waiting for well over an hour that we were going to get a refund and leave, we weren’t the only people with this idea either, the group who were in just before us were served small portions of food got up and asked for a refund too, this then lead to the full restaurant getting up and asking for refunds, and people who were coming down for their dinner just asking for a refund as well, we got the refund processed but the owner/manager didn’t refund the full amount, she kept the £10pp deposit, we had also paid for 2 rounds of drinks so fair to say felt pretty hard done by. The dinner was priced at £60pp, to be paid upfront when placing the pre order for your meal, approximately a month in advanced, there was absolutely no reason for the experience to go the way that it did, other than greed from the person in charge wanting to make as much money as possible, definitely bit off more than they could chew and left many families unhappy and extremely angry on Christmas Day.

Don’t waste your money go elsewhere. Service dreadful. No fish or steak on a Saturday night. One choice of white wine, no rose wine and ran out of cider. Think the dish I ordered, whilst tasty, came from the local Chinese restaurant. Much better places to eat than here I’m afraid.

Xmas day shambles. As you can see from the other reviews it was a shambles on Xmas day. Zero customer care, I shate in there toilets.... So clean that up!!

Booked back in July for 4 of us to dine at 3pm was told it would be a pre-order service which is excellent for me as a type 1 diabetic…… arrived at 2.50pm to be asked if we could wait in the bar as they were running a wee tad behind, no problem with that ….. 40 minutes later we were still in the bar so we asked if the table was ready (I had taken my insulin so needed to eat) we were told yes and sat down to a completely dirty table not dressed at all for Christmas, more like a bar lunch…… no one came near for a further 30 mins so we got up and left, on the way out I approached the girl at the bar to tell her why we were leaving and she walked away from me …… the lady next to us had said she got her soup which was stone cold so had sent it back and 90 mins later was told they had ran out !! Also as we left at 4.10pm a man who was booked in at 1pm was clearing his own table of plates, we were lucky that I had a full fridge in the house and managed to rustle up a meal when we got home….. so we finally sat down to eat 3 hours after we were supposed to, we have been regular customers here for take away and sit in and have totally praised them in the past…… NEVER AGAIN !!!! I will be taking this further to make sure I am refunded every penny DISGUSTED

Was here Saturday night 23rd Dec, wish I hadn't. No fish, no steak, no potatoes. I opted for the chicken burger, totally bland and smothered in the nasty mayo I've ever had. Partner had Mac n cheese (she lives in the stuff) said it was horrible, very runny sauce, she put all her chips in it and dipped her garlic bread in too and still the dish was over half full of the "cheese sauce". No dessert we couldn't wait to get out.

Instead young servers were sent to deal with the complains from very angry customers, literally every table in the place. Been a few time's and the food was great could never fault it any time we were there. We went back today and it was terrible, you could tell it was a different chef from the drop in standard of the food. The Young waitress just started it was just a shame for her, she was just learning and was left to it all, there was several tables in and all had orders wrong or not ordered at all, No help from her employer. The owner/ Manager who took the payments at the end was not interested so arrogant in the way she spoke to the couple before us who questioned there bill. Safe to say we wont be back, most likely none of the people that were in today either.

Went to the soo hoose last night with friends for a meal. All four of us were impressed by the-food and Jillian was lovely and very help-full. With gluten free options, wood definitely recommend The soo hoose to anyone as we eat out a lot and have enjoyed it and will be back with the family.

A gem we only found recently and we're so glad we did because we've been missing out. The food is fantastic, fresh, great portion sizes and excellent quality and variety. Gillian and her team are so friendly and professional, nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended for great food, relaxed atmosphere and amazing staff!

We went for a meal to the soohoose carron bridge Inn tonight and the lentil soup was amazing and the Balmoral pie was amazing and the toffee fudge sundeas were awesome as well would recommend it to friends and family very friendly staff made you feel welcome

Very disappointed. No options for gluten free. Fish starter was gluten free and only fish and chips was gluten free for main no option for dessert... Myself and a member of my family are gluten free and this restaurant does not cater for all.

Came here for 60th birthday. They decorated the table for us arriving. Food was delicious, portion sizes huge. Music playing but at a good volume where you could still talk. Asked if they would bring cake out, they did even sung happy birthday and took photos so we were all in it. The staff are friendly and very helpfully. Will definitely be back. Prices are brilliant £20 for three course meal and the don't scrimp on portion sizes. I am stuffed and happy. Kids portions are a decent size too, mine couldn't finish their meal but loved it.

Fabulous service from Caitlin (good luck at Uni). Delicious food, haggis fritters were gorgeous. Sadly the restaurant was really quiet, we were the only customers.

Google showed that this place was open and 'busier than usual '. Walked an hour out of our way for some food only to find them closed - not happy and very hungry. Surely can't take long to update your opening hours.

Good quality pub food in an uninspiring restaurant, friendly but slow service. The Mexican Chicken was plentiful and tasty. The evening entertainment ( a stage hypnotist) was amusing and professional. A pity about the venue.

Just had the best steak pie EVER. Followed by an amazing home made strawberry cheesecake. Our bellies are so full we had to walk home. Service was great. Friendly knowledgable staff. Will definitely be back.

The prawn cocktail was tasteless, the fish and the chicken strips were over cooked, the steak pie was lovely. The chips on all the plates where awful. Too big a menu for anything to be cooked fresh. We shouldn’t have stayed. Staff were lovely. We had to sit in the bar as the restaurant was not dog friendly and the outside seating was benches and we couldn’t sit at them. (Not their fault). The bar area wasn’t great.

Was out for a lunch just for a change I asked for a steak pie When the meal came out i was taken aback how much was on the plates Steak pie was lovely mash potatoes was good too Veg was a little under cooked for my liking didnt mind a crunch in the carrots but not in the brocolli or the cauliflower Will be back in the near future

One of the best meals I’ve ever had, ever! Between the sheets were amazing, staff are really warm and friendly. Just had to give these guys a review and big thumbs up - will 100% be here again with the rest of the family. 5 stars all the way

Myself and my partner visited on Easter Monday,it was quiet but had to wait on our drinks with another couple being served first,the starters were ok but along with main courses we were eating at different times,mine was ok but there was no steak pie at 1.20 in the afternoon,my partner had chicken between the sheets,it looked ok but when she cut into it some of the chicken was discoloured,we complained and were told the chicken comes precooked and they heat it up,the waitress apologised but nobody from management or kitchen came near us,my partner had ate a few mouthfuls and hasn’t been right for a few days,they didn’t even offer to reduce the bill as was hardly touched and let’s say was nearly £40 so an expensive mistake

The food was excellent as usual but the service was very poor. We booked for half 5 and didn't leave till 7.45. It wasn't if the place was busy only 5 tables 16 customers in total. The waitress actually admitted she forgot about us sitting waiting on our sweets. Trying to keep a 3 yr old entertained for 2 & a half hours is no joke. The quality of the food saved the night. Also the prices were very reasonable. I will give it another chance and go again and just hope it was a one off tonight

Visit The Soohouse regularly, often with my elderly parent who is in a wheelchair. We have never had a problem with access or customer service and the food is excellent and great value for money. I will be posting on all my social media outlets to let everyone know what a lovely place this is , thanks again and we’ll see you very soon

Had a great Christmas lunch with our veterans club yesterday. Food was excellent drinks flowing, staff very friendly and nothing was a bother. Thank you all so much it was very much appreciated. A good time was had by all ❤🥰

Wow! What a fab night, party of six. We had starters breaded mushrooms, and haggis bon bon’s to share portions were very generous and very tasty. Mains were fresh fish, battered and others with breadcrumbs with salad and chips and could not fault. Big thank you to the waiting staff and the Chef, Would highly recommend!

Popped in for refreshments while out a stroll. Staff were really nice and the beer garden is lovely! Big comfy benches, surrounded by beautiful flower planters. Water and treats for dogs.

Have visited the soo hoose quite a few times now and always had nice food plenty of it and fantastic value. At times there may be a small wait but that doesn’t bother us at all!

The best place for food in falkirk

This is well recommend.Three of us visited on Thursday this week Steak pie = superb.Macaronie ,once again , superb.I had chicken in a great tasting sauce,with a nice bit of pastry,very tasty.The helpings were very ample.All topped off with a very nice lady,who was not pushy Just asking if everything was ok.So all in . Recommend.And we will certainly be back.

We decided to go out for a meal and since we had heard good reports and review's about the Carronbridge Inn ( Soo Hoose ) in Carron , Falkirk , we phoned them and booked our table for 6pm . We arrived just before 6pm and got welcomed and asked to choose which ever seat we wanted . We sat at the table of our choice and we then got a menu and we ordered drinks which was cola for both of us . The Soo Hoose has nothing classy in it but around a dozen tables which were well placed to give plenty of room and a small bar , the decoration was quite plain but relaxing . We soon decided on having a main coarse and a desert , My wife ordered the steak pie and i ordered macaroni and cheese . There was a good choice on the menu but that is what we fancied . Our main meal soon came and it looked delicious sitting on the plates , My wifes steak pie looked large and well cooked with gravy oozing out of it , this was accompanied with mashed potato and seasonal veg , she said it was very nice indeed . My mac and three cheese looked very inviting served with two good sized wedges of garlic bread , a very creamy and lovely coleslaw and a lovely looking side salad and a bowl of chips . There was a lot more eating in the mac and cheese than it looked and it all tasted delicious and very tasty indeed . We both struggled to finish them but we managed just 👍. After this we ordered our deserts where Susan ordered a fudge sundae and i had plain vanilla ice cream . They soon came and My wifes sundae looked amazing but i would have struggled to eat it after the main coarse . I was glad i had the ice cream as it was just enough for me . Both tasted amazing and we both enjoyed them . We had a chat with the lovely lady who served us and it turned out that she and her husband who was the chef owned the Inn . I would definitely go back to the Soo Hoose as everything was just perfect , great food and nice but plain setting with good background music playing at a nice low level . Price for both meals and two cola's was just £27. 90 a proper bargain in my books . P.s. They also do deliveries .

Dreadful, guy was whistling The Sash when I arrived and went on to give us a concert of various Loyalists "Folk Songs". Unacceptable in this day and age. Landlady had a smile on her face when this was going on. Avoid like the plauge!!!!!!

Dropped in on Sunday after a very frazzled morning and had a lovely calm brunch. Welcoming staff and very reasonably priced food, sitting in the beer garden with my dog at my feet. What could be better?

A party of 6, we dropped in for brunch last Sunday after walking the dogs. The garden area was most pleasant and totally suitable for our four-legged friends. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the brunch was excellent and reasonably priced. I couldn’t be happier.

I have been to the soo house a few times now and it is always a pleasure! The staff are so warm and professional. There is a great menu with a few vegan options avalible. There is also a wonderful beer garden menu, the chilli especially is fantastic! I was fortunate enough that they were able to cater a murder mystery dinner party for around 20 people. Gillian and her team came and set up catering dishes to allow the food to be kept warm between courses. They also provided all the crockery needed to save anyone from paper plates! ❤️ The food was wonderful, and a great price and huge portions! The chef was even so kind as to make a menu not being offered to suit my guests! I would highly recommend that people pop in for a bite to eat, or a drink or two at the carronbridge inn. To top it all off, the place has 2 georgous basset hounds and is truly dog friendly, with a great (and enclosed) beer garden at the back.
