The best restaurants serving British food in Guildhall York Yorkshire and The Humber

We visited as a group of 12 couples, pre ordered with 2 courses each. It was absolutely perfect! Great service, good timings and food was top quality. I had salmon starter and pumpkin risotto and the portion sizes were perfect and it was all so so tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant for groups, dates or with friends & family as it’s got something for everyone and such a good atmosphere. 10/10. Amazing wine as well. We had The Stump Jump Shiraz :) Thanks for having us!

Vinimos a almorzar tarde y compartimos un camembert entre los dos. Absolutamente delicioso, el chutney con el que se sirvió fue genial, y las cebollas crujientes fueron increíblemente bien. Fantástica selección de queso para comprar (algunos que nunca he visto antes) , para las personas que buscan hacer más que tomar un bocado para comer, y nos encantó la decoración - especialmente los giros divertidos de los propietarios en las pinturas tradicionales! El dueño de la tienda era increíblemente amable y acogedor. Sin duda volveremos cuando volvamos a York, y recomendaremos este lugar a cualquiera que conozcamos que se dirija hacia aquí. ¡Gracias!

Called in here just before Xmas - coffee was perfect! If you like your coffee, this is the place to go. We also sampled the fruit cake - equally delicious. I’ll definitely be visiting again.

Stunning - great staff & fab veggie options too

PERFECTION. We went for Sunday Lunch. We arrived half an hour early but were made welcome. The food was exquisite with unique tastes and combinations of flavours BUT sensible quantities. And a very reasonable price given the quality.

Just had some really good fish and chips (with proper mushy peas) at the seacatcher. Had a good chat with Sean, too. Would definitely recommend.

Stumbled across the hall while completing the York Cat Hunt. Highly recommend popping in 1) to see the hall 2) to have a lovely cuppa and a sit down.

Such a cozy and welcoming cafe. I love the decoration and ambience, the staff are really lovely, and the food is divine. Definitely worth a visit when in York!!

I go here regularly often 3/4 times a month. Good fresh fish and friendly staff. Upstairs is usually not warm recommend you eat downstairs. Service charge automatically added at 10% Nice food always consistent of recent times.

Beautiful restaurant, really thoughtful anniversary drink and different food that was very tasty. Would recommend!

Cracking little boozer, loads of fresh and quirky beer to choose from, friendly staff, and a warm atmosphere. Even the security were helpful, making room for my seven friends when others places turned us away for being in a group.

I played two games of chess with one of the regulars, winning the first, but losing the second. Diplomatically, we kept it at that. However, it was the beginning of a long conversation with a whole host of lovely York people, laughing with nice music in the background and fresh pints strewn about. I would love to become a regular here.

Siempre he disfrutado del hábito. Fuimos en enero 25 y disfrutamos del ambiente y las bebidas. Un poco cascarrabias abajo pero no se puede evitar. Vale la pena ver el balcón de la azotea, ¡pero espere hasta que haga más calor!

Disappointed that the service was so slow. It took an hour for our main course to appear. Staff were helpful. Room was hardly warm enough.
