What a fabulous place! Out of all the steak outlets in York im so glad i chose this one to celebrate my Dads 90th birthday. Radek and his team are fantastic. They really ensured we had the best time. Food was excellent and decent value. What a super evening we both had. Cant recommend highly enough and will definitely be returning on our next visit.

Esta fue nuestra segunda visita a esta excelente tienda. Optamos por el plato de queso y el queso elegante en tostadas. También tomando una copa de vino cada uno. Nos atendió Stu el propietario. Tiene un conocimiento increíble de los quesos y es un tipo tan amable también. El queso que tienes en tu tostada (en realidad un brioche) se puede elegir en el mostrador. No dudaría en recomendar esto a todo el mundo. Si en York y abajo Swinegate con un amor por el queso, por favor llame no le decepcionará.

I found myself having missed lunch with a long time to go till evening meal....and noticed this little gem on the other side of the road. 45 minutes later I was walking out the beneficiary of a superb coronation chicken sandwich (plus salad and coleslaw) and rejuvenating pot of tea. The price was a steal as well. Forget the chains and multiples, one-off businesses like this, passionate about what they do, win every time.

Found this little oasis by accident. Definitely coming back. The staff were very kind and coffee was great too. I enjoyed the gluten free Lichfields salted caramel flapjack.

Go twice weekly and grately missed when theyre not open. Staff are always lovley and welcoming, food is cheap and cheerful. Also they made me a (very yummy) birthday cake. Couldn't ask for a nicer place to eat

Called in here just before Xmas - coffee was perfect! If you like your coffee, this is the place to go. We also sampled the fruit cake - equally delicious. I’ll definitely be visiting again.

I will never tire of the friendly staff, delicious food and comfortable surroundings. It is one of my favourite restaurants of all time! Well worth booking in advance.

El MEJOR SCONE DE LA HISTORIA DE COCO Y Frambuesa y mermelada fue increíble. Personal muy amable y muy servicial con los perros y el cochecito. Sin duda recomiendo y volveremos en julio.

Nunca decepcionante, mientras que un menú bastante limitado (con especiales diarios) siempre está recién hecho en el lugar y delicioso. El personal es muy alegre y nada es demasiado problema. Nos encanta volver.

La primera vez que cenamos en The Legacy y disfrutamos mucho de la comida, la ubicación y el ambiente del restaurante. Hemos tenido la suerte de comer en bastantes restaurantes de estrellas Michelin y The Legacy no decepcionó. El menú degustador fue fantástico y siempre es encantador cuando uno de los chefs viene a su mesa para explicar el plato y todas las complejidades de crear los deliciosos platos para que otros disfruten. No hubo un plato que no disfrutaramos. También tuvimos el queso al final de la comida junto con un poco de panal de los restaurantes colmenas que estaba delicioso. Todo el personal del Restaurante era maravilloso, su conocimiento de los platos que se sirven hacen que toda la comida sea más agradable. Uno de los empleados del restaurante tenía un amor por el champán como nosotros y disfrutamos de una charla sobre nuestros favoritos. El Sommelier fue excelente ayudando a mi marido a elegir otro vino del desierto ya que el que quería no estaba disponible. En general, una noche maravillosa con buena comida y servicio. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente y si volvemos a York sin duda volveremos a The Legacy.

Went on recommendation. It was busy but we managed to get a table. Staff were friendly enough. Order was taken quickly. Prices were similar to those back home in Essex. Small Cod and chips were fine, equivalent to.a medium at my local. Some people were having ridiculous sized portions but I think that's why its so popular. Creme Brulee was nice and big but should have been slightly warm not cold.
