We accidently discovered this cafe while hunting around Whitby for something more "homely". The staff were very accommodating for our party of 7. They ensured we got seated and looked after us all the step of the way. The food was plentiful, tasty, and very reasonably priced. There was a good selection that suited both adults and children. If you want to avoid the mass of marauding tourists and seaguls. Take a stroll up the hill to Stokers.

I visited this lovely little tea room with my grandson and was very impressed with the food and service. There was a great selection of cakes; I had the lemon cake which was delicious, and my grandson had the children's lunch bag. There were plenty of tables both inside and out. The tea was served in a proper china cup with teapot. Everywhere was clean. The service was wonderful. I would highly recommend a visit.

We came across Whitby Eat n Treats by accident - our usual place we use on a day visit was closed. We didn’t know WEaT was there. The staff were welcoming and polite. The surroundings were fresh, and the menu was extensive. We each chose a full breakfast (served all day), which were excellent and very reasonably priced. The service was good. The cafe is accessible to wheelchairs, and has a bathroom on the ground floor. We were very impressed and look forward to returning again. We could thoroughly recommend Whitby EatsnTreats - and certainly the full breakfast!

This is the only place to go for breakfast in Whitby [I know that Emma's do offer other food and drinks and I assume that they will be as fabulous as their breakfasts, but we have only been in for breakfast]. All of the ingredients were first class and they were cooked to perfection. Can't fault it at all. The Diner is 50's American diner themed and is just fabulous, all very high class. Even the waitresses are dressed in 1950's dresses. To top this Emma's dress the cafe for the seasonal events, we have been in at Halloween and Yule and the diner has been decked out in seasonal costume. A place to go, everything is first class. Go on treat yourself, go to Emma's Diner at Whitby.

3 of us called last night for dinner, and all had the cod, which was delicious a good sized portion of very thick white flakey fish, absolutely no issue with the food, the staff were lovely but the spoiler was the price of the drinks £6.70 for a pint of John Smith ! £4.29 for a 330 ml bottle of 0% larger and a bottle of coke £3.25 . You are seriously having a laugh. I expect to pay a little more than bar prices but that is ridiculous. If we had gone to Trencher which was our other choice for the evening the beer would have been £2 pint cheaper and the alcohol free larger £1 .29 cheaper . Unfortunately we won’t return Trenchers next time .

Had some decent cakes from Bothams Whitby on previous visits. On this visit I bought some almond paste ready for Christmas. Luckily I tasted it before using it. What a disappointment, it tasted like soap and was also dry. It only contained 32% almonds, I was told by the assistant that almonds had gone up in price and that was why this product was so expensive.Obviously glucose syrup ,egg whites and sugar must have also increased in price. Can you call it almond paste when it only contains 32% almonds., not to mention the soap.

The food is always superb, tonight we had chosen a meal from the Specials board. “The Whitby Chip Shop Board” I can’t stress enough how delicious this sharer board for two was. With mouthwatering fish and locally sourced sausages cooked in a light crispy batter, beautifully tasting cod and smoked applewood fish cakes, breaded Whitby scampi, mushy peas, gravy, bread and butter, triple cooked chips and tartare sauce. Definitely one to choose next time - let’s hope it’s a regular on the already extensive menu
