Clara's in Scarborough

It's a fantastic little shop and serves very good coffee. They also have soft drinks and ice cream. There is a selection of sweets and rock. You can sit outside or take away.

Just called for a drink when passing, and so glad I did. The hot chocolate was gorgeous and hot (usually others ive tried from different outside vendors tend to be tepid at best), the staff friendly, and was great value for money. Would definitely recommend you try here. Great little place with fantastic views too!

Nice little cafe/ice cream place on the seafront. Staff were bubbly, lovely and patient. Coffee and ice cream were really good, glad we stopped off here. They also had a cute little seating area around the back with a view of the sea.

Always good value for ice cream or a cuppa. Service is fast and prices are realistic. Outside there is a seating area with wind breaks to shield from any chills. All good stuff.

Fabulous location with great views. The staff are so friendly and the coffees are some of the best in Whitby. On this visit we also had ice creams - raspberry ripple and chocolate, 2 scoops of each in a waffle cone. Good value and excellent ice cream. If you're in the area make sure you drop in.

Brought the children here for milkshakes , cost a total of 10.05 . The milkshakes was a watery consistency ,tasted more like' tiny bit of icecream with water . We was definitely disappointed and unfortunately had to throw them away.i wouldn't recommend this place.

I’m not a fan of drinking out of cardboard cups but I will make an exception here. The cappuccino I had is the best I’ve ever tasted. My husband had different milk shake flavours when we visited over a couple of days/evenings. He said raspberry was his favourite. The views are amazing, staff friendly and lovely & clean. We will be back. Thank you for making our break away special.

Clara's is our go to place whenever we come to Whitby. Last week we came with a large family group so we were able to introduce them to one of our favourite spots. The staff are lovely, coffee excellent and a fantastic location.

This is an excellent coffee kiosk on the esplanade overlooking the beach and Whitby pavilion. Good choice and excellent coffee.

Beautiful little shop right on the cliff edge. Staff are very friendly. They consoled me after I was mugged by a seagull and replaced my stolen ice cream free of charge! Will definitely be back.

Great service. Quick and efficient, especially well managed with Covid-19. Small selection of tasty ice creams which can be milkshakes. The coffee are okay too. (2024 update, the coffee I had was excellent) This is a regular spot for us every year. There is often a good atmosphere around the cafe too, with seating outside and plenty of nearby benches with a view.

Great little coffee bar on the cliff top above Whitby sands. Fabulous and friendly service and good value. Delicious lemon sorbet.

The best white Hot chocolate I've ever tasted! So rich and creamy, the boys had milkshakes, they were gone in a flash ⚡ so yummy! Beautiful views and a must visit place when in Whitby - shares a name with my late Great Grandma so always pop by 👨‍👩‍👦 Compostable & recyclable cups - great to see small businesses reducing their environmental impact ♻️ Love Clara's ❤️

A great little ice cream/coffee shop on the West Cliff. Great that it opens late (as late as 9pm in summer) so if pubs are not your thing you can go and get a milkshake and sit out under the fairy lights.

Writing this at request of the owner as my description of the ice cream purchased for me was incorrect. I called it a double cone when in fact it should have been called a double scoop. Please don't imply I didn't buy it from from Clara's (see original photos taken , posted and re posted here) I stand by my review it was the smallest , saddest 'Double Scoop' I have had and was disappointed. Sorry you don't agree. We both have our opinions. Thank you for your response..sadly the ice cream is pictured as it was handed to me. Untouched !!! Will say my grandson who is at the door came out and had a larger ice cream and didn't manage to eat it all. My reviews are honest and have reviewed a lot of ice creams. Sorry this was obviously not up to your usual standards.

Was in Whitby for a few days a couple of weeks ago staying at the Langley just across from this little gem of a coffee house it is great especially the hot chocolate 😋😋 it was to die for wat a lovley place 🥰🥰

This is more like it Whitby. The service here is second to none (I should say unfortunately thats not too hard as everyone in Whitby seems to be bloody miserable) but take nothing away from the people here who are very friendly and serve great coffee and hot chocolates. We were served very quickly and the drinks came in a very quick time. Again, staff were friendly, drinks were great and the prices were really good for this day and age. Also great location with adequate benches, I wish the place well and highly recommend.

My family has been coming here for the past fifteen years, and we have, without doubt, experienced fantastic quality every single time. The ice creams are sourced locally and have an amazing taste (I would recommend Cinder toffee). Claras offers many drinks such as coffees, tea, hot chocolate, and a large range of flavours of delicious milkshakes. The cafe is situated next to a beautiful flower garden with plenty of benches to enjoy your favourite treats. The staff are all friendly and offer a speedy and welcoming service. All together, Claras Cafe is a perfect spot for a drink or ice cream on your day out in whitby.

This place was an amazing little cafe for our holiday in Whitby! The staff were lovely and made us want to come back multiple times (which we did). They are very generous with the ice cream scoops and all seem like they really enjoy working there. An overall great place to go for a coffee with an amazing view of the sea.

I've been a regular visitor in Clara's for years and it never fails to disappoint with fantastic tasting coffee served by friendly staff.

Nice place to stop for ice cream. No indoor seating and cold area, but they do have a wind shield around the seating so you can't grumble.

Came here last year and had amazing ice cream with soft, melt in your mouth, fudge sprinkles. Returned today expecting the same. Instead I got uneatable, rock hard fudge that looked like it had been left for several months and dried up and the ice-cream was not great either. The fudge hurt to chew. We had to put it straight in the bin. At £3.25 this was not cheap. I would've returned for a refund, but a large school group were queuing and I was not going to make my disappointed 4 year old wait in the queue behind them. We had to go elsewhere for an ice-cream. I spoke to 2 other customers, who both said the ice-creams were disgusting today. The 3 lattes were not bad. Definitely won't be returning and after speaking to the other customers, I don't think I'll be the only one.

Can't beat the coffee or the view

I am always pleased when little cafes like this offer oat milk. I had an iced oat milk latte with syrup (can’t remember which one). It was lovey and not too milky.

Always a good place to pick up a sandwich and a drink and have a good chat with the staff that work there. They always have a good smile on their face and do an amazing job 👍😎.. definitely a good place to grab a snack and enjoy the view from the cliff.

This is the best takeaway coffee shop in Whitby, coffees, shakes, ice cream (lemon tops and cider toffee) are a favourite a few sweets, scones, biscuits and occasional sandwiches. The staff are friendly and very chatty and the summer sunsets are absolutely unbelievable and rather nice.
