We came across this tea room by chance, thought looks nice we'll call in not just for lunch but to have a wander round too. Good size car park, went in to tea room was greeted by '"have we booked" no welcoming hello, replied we hadn't and was just passing, we we're told that was best to book as it gets busy, then was told we could have table but had to be out at 2.30 (arrived 1.15) because it was already reserved and that there's 2 other tables waiting to be served so would be a slight wait on food, that was fine as we only wanted a sandwich and coffees, we were shown to table and given menu's, after sitting there for approx 10 mins wasn't sure if needed to order at til or whether table service, got up to go and ask and I was told table service, went to sit back down still not served, at approx 1.45 young man apologised and said he had another table to serve before us, at this point time was ticking and temper was rising, decided to walk out after no interaction with any of the staff and if had have been served food it would've probably have arrived as the people who booked the table would've wanted to be seated, I explained to staff on leaving that obviously too busy and we we're disappointed, was just given a card and told to book next time, which won't be happening, I would have preferred them to say that they are fully booked sorry can't fit you in than sitting there feeling they had no intention of serving us anyway not even for coffee and cake.

He left my car at Stoneacre just up on Canklow Road and needed somewhere to go for some lunch whilst I waited. This was the perfect place! Just a five min walk away. I chose a chicken panini and a cuppa. Lovely friendly girls in there. (Think they may have been family?) Anyway it was the end of the day for them (closing at 2pm) and so were clearing up but I didn’t feel in the way or anything. Spot on little spot. Would recommend!

Called at Whitby's this week and as always, we enjoyed great skin-on haddock, beautiful chips and tasty peas. I know Catcliffe isn't in proper Yorkshire - which starts at Woolley Edge - but I'd still like to have the option of proper Yorkshire portions as I can at the Wetherby Whaler, Murgatroyds, and elsewhere around Leeds and its environs. Sheffielders might be nesh, and not equal to a Wetherby Whaler Special, but Loiners aren't. In addition, the customer service wasn't up to the standard we expect here or elsewhere. We asked for a pot of tea with our meal. It arrived ten minutes later after three reminders. One piece of bread and butter wasn't sliced either. This is elementary slackness, and a consequence of a front of house team who aren't led, aren't on their toes, don't remember what customers have asked for, don't have their eyes open, and spend too much time chatting with each other.

Excellent food, drinks and prices. Great location away from Main Street. Fast friendly service and really enjoyed it. I had an excellent club sandwich and then a freshly baked scone. There’s a great choice of cakes on display Would definitely recommend

We arrived from a trip to pick up my sons christmas present and were all very hungry and desperate for something to eat, but needing a place that was dog friendly. The welcome from Justine was lovely and she couldn't do enough to help, the food was amazing, and the blazing fire was very comforting. Justine even checked of Badger our dog was happy and if he wanted something to drink. Brilliant place for family and friends to chill and enjoy each others company in these cold months! Thank you. Would highly recommend the only issue is that we live too far away to come more often!

Fish & Chips with pea source, all not very exciting to end the business day on however the staff were very attentive, had a smile and nothing was too much trouble.

This little gem is not to be missed. It's a great atmosphere, with young people who are learning their trade in hospitality. Great food overseen by a professional chef and front of house lead by manager John. Always a pleasure and we have never been disappointed. Give it a try, I'm certain you will enjoy the experience.

Discovered this cafe a couple of months ago and was impressed by the food and friendliness of service - very obliging. Consequently I have lunch here at least twice a week apart from a Wetherspoons Pub (Bluecoats). I highly recommend this cafe for snacks and coffee ( to die for).

The coffee is DISGUSTING. No wonder it's £2. Had no taste to it whatsoever Didn't even smell like coffee. Didn't rate the place at all. Glad to get out.!!!
