Fish & Chips with pea source, all not very exciting to end the business day on however the staff were very attentive, had a smile and nothing was too much trouble.

A wonderful evening starting with a glass of champagne followed by a very delicious meal. The salmon starter was very tasty. The main course of lamb and beef was well cooked and served with vegetables. My sister and her husband don't eat red meat and the hotel cooked them red snapper and cod loin with a spicy tomato sauce. The trio of puddings (lemon tart, chocolate ganache in a Brady snap basket and creme brûlée) was wonderful and was followed by a cheese board. We danced the night away and at 2 a.m. Had bacon butties before bed. Breakfast the next morning was the usual buffet and was served from 9 until 12 noon. We will definitely celebrate New Years Eve there again!

Came here for my friends Birthday, would not have really thought about coming here, being a hotel. If you book in advance you pay £5.95 for a main course Sunday carvery, I personally would not normally do a carvery, prefer my food to be cooked fresh and hot, however! It ticked all the boxes for what we paid, I was expecting starters and desserts to be close to the £5.00 being a hotel, was pleasantly surprised at £2.95 each. We took advantage and ordered both to be served from the kitchen. Food was Hot and plenty of it. choice of 3 meats, 3 veg, 2 potatoes, Fish and vegetarian options came from the kitchen. Sarah on the bar greeted guests with a friendly smile,Lindsay in the Restaurant was bubbly and at tentative.

We decided to try the Sunday carvers and were the first there when the restaurant opened. The food was really disappointing. The meat was full of fat, and only a small amount given, the vegetables tasteless and the Yorkshire puddings cold. The staff were lovely, but unfortunately the food put us off so we won't be going back

Usually receive the highest customer service at the Walled Garden - never any complaint even at busiest of times - but not today. No queue at the counter which I thought great (most unusual as usually rammed). Three members of staff stood chatting behind counter & carried on, even though knew we were there. When we they eventually finished their conversation, one asked rather abruptly for our order - no pleasantries or anything. Got to end of counter to pay and collect - she got it wrong as I’d asked for takeaway and she made extremely sarcastic comment. Puts you off - nothing wrong with a smile and polite customer service in my opinion!l Unfortunately encountered her again when went to buy takeaway cakes a bit later - friendly service wasn’t in her vocabulary. Would recommend staff go on customer service training - especially the staff member with a slight foreign accent who was doing the serving today.

We were a party of six adults and two young babies so as grandparents we had our hands full. We were served by Paul who couldn’t do enough to help (fetching drink refills, taking group photos etc). Paul was friendly, cheerful, and efficient - a credit to the business. Food was good and plenty of it. Well done!
