We arrived from a trip to pick up my sons christmas present and were all very hungry and desperate for something to eat, but needing a place that was dog friendly. The welcome from Justine was lovely and she couldn't do enough to help, the food was amazing, and the blazing fire was very comforting. Justine even checked of Badger our dog was happy and if he wanted something to drink. Brilliant place for family and friends to chill and enjoy each others company in these cold months! Thank you. Would highly recommend the only issue is that we live too far away to come more often!

My dad had the meat 🥩 pye,, no meat in it the pastry was grey,,he was sick for 2 days, would not advise eating here,, 🤮

Got back from an overnight stay with my other half. Lovely room with a massive bed. Everything you needed in the room was there. Iron and ironing board etc... Food in the restaurant was very nice, and staff were very attentive..lovely friendly lady on reception. Only one slight issue was the shower seemed to looose a bit of power and once that happened water went very hot.(it was as if somebody had turned the cold water tap on somewhere) Couldn’t fault the price and was very clean too. Define would return.

Came here today Tue 7th may on my son's recommendations. We both had the signature gammon. Very nice indeed. Table service is always a nice touch. Plenty of room as it a big pub. No football on big screens. No kids running around. Just a nice oldie worldie pub. Beets the Belfry hands down. This is now our new local. Keep up the good work.

Had our works Christmas party here last night. Party room was welcoming and clean , the staff were friendly and we had a great night. The buffet was delicious and well presented, however it was brought out very early and was only out a short time and then took away without any notice given ..such a waste to say how hungry everyone was later on. The table I was on was situated near the emergency doors and there was a strong cat pee/damp smell which got worse as the room got warmer 🙁 All in all though a fab night. Theres carpeted ramp that leads down to the room making ideal wheelchair access. The well decorated room is just the right size for a party with a well stocked bar. I would have given five stars if the buffet stayed out longer and it didn't smell where we were sitting.

We stayed here for three nights in July and ate in for al threel. The menu, which presumably is common to all the pubs in this chain, had some interesting dishes you'd not normally think of as "pub grub" like cod loin in prosciutto and Moroccan stuffed courgette. These, and a wide selection of more traditional dishes, meant we were able to try something different each meal, with each item being reasonably priced. We booked our table for all three evenings before arrival which was as well as each evening the inside dining area was full at 7pm. Although there is also a large outside seating area, not all is covered against the elements. The bar area is actually quite small with only a few seats, so the Red Lion is set up more for diners than drinkers. Service was very good and the staffing level seemed to be better than on our previous visit a couple of years ago. The food itself was well presented and of good quality, and the wine list, although short, was not unduly overpriced. An understandably popular pub restaurant. I wish we had something like this closer to home!

My friend and I drink and eat in this bar 5-6 times a year. Fantastic beers and the food has always been good.Recommend the belly pork and the moonshine real ale.Great place to visit and would recommend to anyone passing by.Well done the staff have always been fantastic and all work very hard.See you again very soon I’m sure.

The longest wait ever. Not enough to staff. We were a party of 2 and were seated at a table for 6. Subsequent larger parties were turned away. The under informed staff tried, but there was no proper management to make a decision

Es tan arriba y abajo ... Orden pescado y patatas fritas o las hamburguesas, no te puedes equivocar a menos que hayan agotado. Entonces siempre me siento decepcionado por lo que estoy servido. la última vez que fuimos fue un asado de cerdo - muy crudas patatas asadas, cerdo breadcakes barato pero buena, buena salsa y hunks chisporroteante de enormes. Pero esto era ordenados como se les había acabado de grandes peces y patatas fritas. Es un buen lugar para ir a tomar una copa ... admirando la rotonda fuera ... ir a menudo, me volveré I sólo desearía que podían conseguir cada plato que sirven para el precio.

I am always wary of having steak in restaurants because of some bad experiences where it has been like eating leather. On this occasion, the steak was tender, juicy and very tasty. Just awesome.
