Just had a lovely lunch here, all food was cooked beautifully and the cake was stunning. Would advise to book a table, I sat in the courtyard and it was very pleasant out in the fresh air. Great atmosphere and thank you to the gentleman and young lady that served me, sorry I didn’t get your names, very polite and friendly.

Been to Deer Park Farm Tea Rooms many times for afternoon lunch, Today i went for breakfast with daughter a 1st for the both of us. The breakfast (Full English) was worth every penny, the best i have ever had and i have had a few in rotherham. Definitely will make this the top of my list. The staff are very friendly, there's a seperate courtyard for dog owners/walkers and ample parking.

First time here for us and we didn’t book although they managed to find us a table in the lounge( comfy sofas and a real fire in the winter) The service was excellent and our food was lovely. Probably best to book and maybe go earlier ( it was 2.30 when we turned up) and a few things had sold out but, very nice and worth a visit. The lounge is probably the place where, in the winter you have lunch then fall asleep by the fire in a comfy sofa! Thank you, it was lovely.

Visited here this afternoon. At first I thought the service was poor. Nobody really said anything and it was really quiet. Our waiter was very nice and seemed nervous/ anxious. I wasn’t sure why until I heard the lady running it call him a ‘stupid boy’ because he made a mistake with the card machine. She spoke to him in a very patronising way and I found it very unprofessional and uncomfortable. He actually did a good job at getting our food and drinks and we felt very bad for him if this is how he is treat at work. I wasn’t the only person stood there who heard what she said to him and how she said it. This ruined the experience for us. Food was alright, but will not be returning. Hopefully that young man will get an apology and some respect from his employer as this is not how someone should be treat at work family or not.

Popped in for a cup of tea and was very pleasantly surprised. I'm a wheelchair user and was phased by the steps, but a lovely lady dashed out and showed us the way in via the carpark entrance. They had a table special specifically for wheelchair users and were really helpful and pleasant. I loved the quant but not cutesy decor. Thoroughly enjoyed my tea and teacake. Next time we'll know to come in from the carpark but I would really recommend these tearooms

Arranged to meet a friend for a long overdue catch up. We had booked and the staff sat us us in the courtyard (which is under cover).I ordered quiche which came with boiled potatoes, salad and coleslaw. My friend had a panini with coleslaw and a small side salad. Both lunches were fresh, looked appetising and tasted delicious.. Pot of tea was lovely and we were informed just to ask if more hot water was required. Staff very friendly and helpful.Would certainly recommend to others and will definitely be back for more of the same.

Just had afternoon tea here with my boyfriend and we both couldn’t be more happier with what we got! An absolutely lovely little place with the loveliest of staff. As you can tell by this picture you get a generous amount of food which was just incredibly tasty! We got served by two women who were both really friendly and couldn’t have been more attentive, checking if we needed any top ups on drinks and if the food was too our liking. If you’re looking for a great place to go for afternoon tea or even just some lunch out, highly recommend you go here.

We popped to the deer park retail village shop for some bread and a cuddle of Oscar the dog and spotted the sign for take out hot butties. We ordered a sausage/egg/mushroom and bacon/mushroom and sat outside on the bench outside the tea rooms waiting for it.When the sandwiches came they were nice and hot. The bread cake was very fresh, a good size and tasty. The bread had been lightly buttered but not overdone. The sausages were lovely, I think they might have been the pork and tomato ones I had bought in the shop. They were cooked perfectly for my taste with little flecks of caramelisation on them adding to the flavour. The mushrooms were perfect again with that little bit of caramelisation. The egg was a joy being just a little runny in the yolk but not the explosive style you get in some butties were you need the napkin within seconds. The portion size was ideal and well worth the money. As for the bacon sandwich, my wife described it as divine!seriously the best butty Ive had for years.

This is my second visit to the tea rooms. It's a lovely cozy setting with several different rooms. Today we were in a comfy lounge, sitting on a settee. We had tea/coffee and scones with jam and cream. Worked out at £5 each. The staff were friendly and helpful, and if anyone is worried about Covid issues, they seemed to take things seriously with distancing, hand sanitising, signing in etc. They serve breakfasts and lunches as well, which I haven't tried, but they looked gorgeous so I plan to return.

Hi - Alisons daughter here! (73rd birthday). After reading my mums review and your reply, I thought I’d add my opinion on our experience. I’m only 16, but have worked as a waitress and FOH in a boutique FAMILY RUN restaurant for over 18 months. Working in the same industry as you meant I could easily pick up on customer service flaws by yourself. I can’t fault you food , everyone was happy and enjoyed the food. But the way our table was dealt with was far from enjoyable! The first thing I learned as a waitress was that the customer is always right ( even if they are not ) but in this case my mum was in the right. I was stood next to her with her list of attendees and so can confirm she did ask to book a table for 7 people. When me and my 12 year old sister were made to move into another room all because you couldn’t add a chair to our isolated table , we were both nearly in tears , thinking we would miss our grandmas birthday. I understand you have to follow guidelines, much like I do at work. But we were only two households and so still under guidelines of a maximum of two households sitting together. We were also told we couldn’t move next to my family when a table became free because “ it’s a guideline that the table has to sit for 20 minutes after being disinfected.” Another ‘guideline’ I am yet to hear at work. Fair enough if this is a rule you implemented, but we have been to many many places and always seated as soon as there is a clean table. My mum was never rude , she simply stated facts. Your service was poor! I would never in a million years speak to a customer the way she was spoken to . I also find it disgusting that you could use her job as a paramedic against her!! Let’s be honest she does not deserve for that to be used against her after everything she has done through this pandemic. Further to this , I would not listen in to a customers conversation and but in like your staff did. Overall the way our table was dealt with did not imply you “ pride yourself in customer service” you incorrectly noted down our booking for a table of 7 like you incorrectly noted down our bill... twice. My nan did not have to apologise for our perfectly fair behaviour , because she was just as mad as us! Overall we had one very upset table and one upset birthday girl which could have easily been avoided.

After reading reviews from both my daughter and the owner I find it so upsetting how the booking turned out. My daughter knew that there was going to be seven of us for lunch so why would she ring up and book for six. I'm sure that if she had been told it wasn't possible then she would have booked somewhere else. It would have been so easy to set another place at the end of the table as it was in the corner and no-one would have been walking past. It spoiled my birthday as I had not seen my sister and her family for six months. As for the comment about walking out once we had ordered! What kind of family do you think we are. We are a very close family and in normal circumstances could have enjoyed a lovely lunch but this was spoiled. I didn't apologise for my daughter and granddaughter as they are polite and respectful. My daughter was trying her best to solve all issues without upsetting me. Please don't say my daughter was 'trying it on' I can assure you she wasn't. You don't seem to accept any negative comments and appear to blame the customers.

After reading so many lovely reviews about this tea room I decided to book it for my mums 73rd birthday . I pre booked a table for 7 only to be told on arrival that there was a maximum of 6 people per booking and we were therefore unable to sit together. Obviously there had been a communication error although I was made to feel that I was the one who had provided incorrect information . I explained that it was my mums birthday and also the first time we had seen our family in 6 months. I asked if it would be possible to add a chair to the end of our table which would still ensure social distancing was maintained . I was told this was not possible due to customers walking past although the table was set back against a wall. I suggested having 2 separate tables and again this was refused as all tables were reserved . I felt that the member of staff dealing with my booking was extremely unhelpful and at times very rude . I understand that there are rules and regulations in place, but when an error has been made I would have expected better customer service when trying to find a solution . After going round in circles trying to work out who was at fault I was told we could sit in the lounge which was a room with no other customers in . Perfect could we all then sit together as a family of 7 ? No because we can only accept bookings for a maximum of 6 people ! In that case why would we move from one table of 6 into a lounge also for 6 where we then had to eat our food from lap trays ? When I asked what difference it would make if there were 7 in one contained room as opposed to 6 I was rudely informed we are in the middle of a global pandemic ! Absolutely disgraceful comment . As a paramedic who has been at the forefront of the “global pandemic” for the last 6 months I found the comment rude and patronising .In the end we ended up splitting our family between 2 rooms . Not only did this spoil our entire lunch, but walking between the 2 rooms to ensure my children were ok meant that we were constantly walking past other customers . Surely placing an extra chair at the end of the table as first suggested would have been a safer option for ourselves and other customers . Unfortunately we were made to feel deflated and unwelcome . At one point we were even approached after placing our food order and asked if we were intending to stay before it was prepared . Appalling customer service . We may have been unhappy that our afternoon was ruined , but we are certainly not the kind of customers who would order food and then leave .Despite the poor hospitality the food was average . It would have been nice to have been offered some sort of compensation or discount for the misunderstanding however we received the opposite and was charged £15.00 too much . Again no apology . A very disappointing visit as the tea room itself was beautiful .

One of my grandma's favourite places for an outing - the cakes are delicious and there's always a good selection; plus there's a lovely quiet room at the back, which is great for her as she has a hearing aid and struggles with background noise.

Three of us went for lunch and enjoyed the setting. The lunch menu was limited, mainly jackets and sandwiches. There were a couple of specials, including a quiche. I had a jacket with beans, served with a side salad. My friends had paninis. We all enjoyed what we had, but would have liked a bit more choice. Many of the tables were reserved for customers who had booked afternoon teas, which are popular. Service was efficient and friendly.

Our last visit was exactly that - our last! Found Helen quite abrupt, she's usually friendly but not on that day. Pity as I had intended asking about hiring it out for a ladies afternoon (20-25 ladies). Won't visit again.

Visited the tea rooms for coffee / scones and cakes. Staff were superb and the setting was quaint and different. Home baking was delicious and there was a great selection of scones and cakes. Plenty parking available.

This a family run business and I always receive great service and great home cooked food, its like a hunting lodge in areas of the tea rooms, very nice country feel to the whole set up, they even have a separate place called the Dog house where you can take your dogs in and enjoy the same comforts and treats of the tea rooms them selves...what a great idea...small courtyard at the rear and outside tables at the front...its getting very popular so I suggest to book ahead ...don't miss out...

We dropped in to this unusual place on the A630 at Thryburgh, between Doncaster and Rotherham, having seen it advertised in a local magazine. Located behind a barn-like furniture shop, the tea rooms occupy a range of buildings, with a large car park. (It is on the X78 Doncaster to Sheffield bus route). We were greeted immediately and were asked if we had visited before. The waitress said to feel free to look around, and that she would come and take our order. We wandered through three different small rooms, and chose the end one, comfortably furnished with easy chairs around a newly-lit log burner. The waitress came promptly to take our order. Having seen several types of scones on the counter, my wife asked for a date and walnut scone while I ordered a cheese scone. We didn't have to wait long before our scones and americanos arrived, with generous portions of soft butter. The scones were tasty and moist, and coffee was good.As we left, we had a long chat with Helen, who told us something about the business, and the refurbishment that will take place in June 2017. We hope to visit again before then!

Visited for afternoon tea. Rather basic sandwiches, ham, cheese and tuna. Carrot cake delicious. Charged extra for a second cup of coffee, which I thought unusual. All other places we have been for afternoon tea offer unlimited tea and or coffee. Overall would probably visit again but eat from the menu instead, or have more carrot cake!

The place and staff are lovely and helpful but we did wonder about the afternoon tea. We expected to be served home made cakes (in smaller portions) as you see in the café instead we were served small shop bought fancies - looked like they'd come from M&S - so rather disappointed. Every time I've been to this café the home made food has been excellent so come on at £13 per head lets get it right. Another disappointment was the charge of a further £2 for a latte as my friend doesn't like Americano. £93 we paid them they surely are fairly petty.

Its a lovely cafe i take my daughter every week on our way home from school.the staff are lovely and nothing is ever a problem(my 4 year old is picky and changes her mund often)but they do whatever she asks for. I am always suprised with the bill often being less then i thought as the food and drinks are great value for money. They also sell little bits and bobs and i have picked up a few lovely cards. Love it.

After a very cold walk at Thrybergh country park we called this afternoon with our dog and our 4 yr old grandson who wanted only ice cream (in this weather!). Dog was happy because they have a great 'dog house' separate to the tearoom where you can eat and your dog is made more than welcome - and our boy was happy because ice cream was 'yummy'. So we two were, of course, happy. Especially since the toasted teacakes we had were hot and delicious and served with a smile and lots of butter. The log burning stove in the dog house was warm and welcoming. A really pleasant place on a cold winter afternoon. Thank you.

Being in the area we knew would get a nice snack here. Were very happy with the food (including portions of cake available from a great selection) and the service provided, other than the young girl who gave the impression that the whole thing was an imposition on her time !

Popped in with my mum. My mum had never been, but I'd been once before. Mum had a wrap and I had a panini, they were really lovely. After we enjoyed angel cake and bake well tart which were delicious. The tea pot gave us both plenty of tea in the most cute tea set. The tea room itself is a lovely place, quirky and a good call. You must not miss out. We also loved the shop on site.

Booked a table for six for a birthday treat for my elderly mother. The venue is a converted farm house and we seemed to be in the "front room". Although there were two other tables in this area (more in other rooms) it felt intimate. We didn't feel rushed, cramped or part of a conveyor belt of business. Service was prompt without being rushed. Attentive without being over bearing. The food was excellent: variety of sandwiches, choice of cake (decent sized wedge), scone plus tea/coffee. Quantity was about right: we skipped dinner, but were full enough having eaten all before us.At £13 each it's about par for afternoon tea. For the cost of the food, it's maybe a bit steep, but for the overall experience it was good value.

Absolutely crap, service and food, waited 50 mins plus and quiche was cold, no salt, no dressing had to wait every time we asked for something. Cake looked better than it tasted, would never go back and certainly wouldn't recommend, don't know where their positive reviews came from!!!

Having been abroad for 4 months, on returning one of the first visits we made were to the Deer Park Farm Tea Rooms. Had the ploughman's lunch, which was quite filling, and I can't say enough about the cakes...Always a big choice of various cakes that I think are to die for. As always you can't talk about the tea rooms without talking about the staff. Always pleasant and friendly, and because of the 4 different themed tea rooms (Café. Georgian. Victorian and Lodge). You get lost in your own thoughts while sat enjoying the food. Well done to Helen and Shaun (Owners) for developing the tea rooms from scratch, to what it is now,

Having encountered major traffic problems when trying to drive into the centre of Rotherham, we decided to divert here (where we have called before) and settled for a light refreshment - 1 quiche + 1 pate, with drinks. This was followed by a shared pudding, a lemon meringue.A delightful break, with friendly attention in pleasant surroundings, and we will certainly be back again

I was taken by a friend for lunch and it was lovely, she had booked a table but we decided to eat outside as it was a warm day, we had the sharing ploughmans which was great and plenty for 2 ladies followed by calorie laden delicious cakes. The staff were friendly and attentive but our lunch did take a little longer than expected to arrive (they were very busy) but won't stop us returning soon. There are various areas to dine in and also a separate building for dog owners an ice cream parlor and plenty of parking

We are regular visitors to Deer Farm Park Tea Rooms, usually for morning coffee and cakes or a light lunch. We love it and have brought various friends and family to sample it too. Inside it is like the Tardis with a series of themed rooms. Our favourite is the sitting room at the far end with comfy settees and a log burner. There is even a small outside seating area. Food always good and cakes delicious.Attached is an interiors / gift shop which offers a bespoke furniture service. We commissioned an oak tv unit which we love.

Came for lunch with the family & grandchildren recently & we had a fab afternoon. The food was good, the play area kept the kids entertained and the staff were pleasant and friendly. We’ve definitely arranged to return in the school holidays & hopefully the sun will shine so we can enjoy the beer garden.
