The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

We were 8 ladies who booked the Tina Turner Christmas festive night. We had a fabulous time. The staff were all attentive and friendly. The entertainment was excellent and bedrooms spotlessly clean.and comfortable. Great breakfast choice and very polite and helpful waiter. Well done everyone.

We would like to say how the service am from this young man Adam ,was fantastic , very professional,we had little mistake ,but he sorted it straight away , Brilliant will be back

Fuimos a este pub para almorzar hoy - el personal era excepcionalmente amable y acogedor. Preguntamos si podíamos tomar un sándwich en lugar de los variados almuerzos del domingo que estaban en el menú - la respuesta fue sí. Cuando llegó el bocadillo superó las expectativas. El sándwich estaba en una ciabatta caliente acompañada de una porción de papas fritas caseras y una jarrita de salsa bellamente presentada. La comida era deliciosa y durante el transcurso de nuestra comida esto, nos preguntaron por 3 empleados diferentes si todo estaba bien - dijimos cada vez que sí y que estaba delicioso! Sin duda volvería a visitar y no dudaría en recomendar a todo el mundo - gracias por 💯 % de experiencia positiva!

Absolutamente mi lugar favorito para ir para el almuerzo del domingo, excelente comida y servicio al cliente. Insuperable no podría recomendar esto lo suficiente por favor vaya y consiga reservado en no se arrepentirá, siempre gritando a la azotea a mi familia, amigos y colegas de trabajo. Altamente profesional, limpio, la calidad de la comida es increíble y supera cualquier carvery por mucho! No iría a ningún otro lugar ahora, ambiente relajante y agradable, volverá lo antes posible.

Nothing much has changed since my last visit in 2019. Large eating area was hardly used - possibly because it was really cold in there. We were told that an engineer was promised to fix the heating in a day or so. The food was substantial but hardly inspiring. My steak pie was more mince than steak chunks. Cheap and cheerful sums it up. Coffee was ok and staff were cheerful, though cold.

The food is good if the owner is there himself, otherwise you get given small portions, tasteless food

Yes definitely, great pint well looked after beer and lager best pint in village. Actually the cheapest pint also but they are a free house and not greedy. The whole roast was fresh, meat to die for! proper home made gravy only wish we had eaten here before, lived here 1.5 years always dined at others in the village. I judged a book by its cover!! fully hands up its dated and others in village are more modern but wow thankyou so much 💗 it's the actual owner that cooks too, very rare these days. I'm so glad we didn't have starters though the plate was very plentiful indeed. Thanks once again will definitely be back next week .... perfection, quality price and service 💯

Called in after a meal in a local restraunt , was ok kareok on a Saturday night , was no to busy ,got served ok did seem a bit klickie in the main room so sat in the back room with a few other people and a suit of armour ,a decent drink would call again .

Parking is almost non existent. Pub is nice and traditional.

Not sure why the mixed reviews here to be honest. Just returned from an excellent Sunday roast, firs time at the veneue. Service was exceptionally good, very friendly, super efficient, and enjoyed every bite of our roasts and deserts! Will definitely return.

The food was very delicious and tasty would definitely recommend to others. i would also most definitely eat food their again.

Best part of £10 for a ham and cheese toastie ,and the weakest poorest hot chocolate ever experienced ,no cream no marshmallows ,no flavour ,toasties was just ok but how can it be wrong ,2 slices of bread toasted with ham and cheese (actually bought in product )captive audience and obviously know it

Decided to meet with a few friends for a spot of lunch to find half of the menu wasn’t even available. Once we decided what food we didn’t particularly want we watched our food sitting under the heat lamp for around 15 minutes before anyone even went to fetch it. This ruined our experience and we most definitely will not be returning.

Acabo de probar una de las nuevas hamburguesas gourmet Big smoke. Salió apenas tibia, el joven que servía era muy disculpado y la devolvió a la cocina. La comida de mis amigos estaba al 90% comido para cuando llegó mi reemplazo. También hacía frío y estaba celoso. Prefiero mis hamburguesas sin un pedido secundario de intoxicación alimentaria así que se lo devolví al gerente esta vez pidiendo un reembolso. No puedo creer que dedujera el costo de la bebida del reembolso. Sugiero tomar los lápices de la zona de comer y dárselos al personal de la cocina, ya que parece que los conceptos básicos de frío y calor están por encima de ellos

Very disappointing. Staff at the till very unfriendly. The person making the coffee very unhygenic. They dropped the wiping cloth on the floor then proceeded to use it on the coffee machine. Absolutely disgusting. Have travelled from West Yorkshire and will not come here again. Originally from Rochdale so anybody local dont bother. Ps and the pets allowed in here is untrue. A very large bird was on a customers shoulder i the food section. Not acceptable at all with bird flu etc. So shocked they allowed it and is probably against health snd safety regulations.
