The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

The Mayfield is a loverly property, very busy with local customers, staff very friendly, could not ask for more . Food was very bland , garlic dip had no taste, salad looked like it had been dumped on the plate . Room was very warm and hard to sleep , very clean and the design has been well thought out. Use to get Netflix when I visited the first time, bit of a shame you still do not get it, or able to put your own on the tv.

We would like to say how the service am from this young man Adam ,was fantastic , very professional,we had little mistake ,but he sorted it straight away , Brilliant will be back

Absolutamente mi lugar favorito para ir para el almuerzo del domingo, excelente comida y servicio al cliente. Insuperable no podría recomendar esto lo suficiente por favor vaya y consiga reservado en no se arrepentirá, siempre gritando a la azotea a mi familia, amigos y colegas de trabajo. Altamente profesional, limpio, la calidad de la comida es increíble y supera cualquier carvery por mucho! No iría a ningún otro lugar ahora, ambiente relajante y agradable, volverá lo antes posible.

Nothing much has changed since my last visit in 2019. Large eating area was hardly used - possibly because it was really cold in there. We were told that an engineer was promised to fix the heating in a day or so. The food was substantial but hardly inspiring. My steak pie was more mince than steak chunks. Cheap and cheerful sums it up. Coffee was ok and staff were cheerful, though cold.

This pub has been renamed The Tap on the Tutt and is under new ownership (Simon Wade) who also has The Grantham Arm's and The Fox and Hounds public houses in Boroughbridge and Langthorpe.

Called in after a meal in a local restraunt , was ok kareok on a Saturday night , was no to busy ,got served ok did seem a bit klickie in the main room so sat in the back room with a few other people and a suit of armour ,a decent drink would call again .

Lovely place, perfect location, spotlessly clean and comfy beds. Staff very helpful, nothing too much trouble. Fab breakfast. 2nd time here and won't be our last. Love it!

Went here with good review from a friend, whom came along with us for her birthday treat. I thought altho, it wasn't too busy we waited at least 20 mins+ before our meal arrived . We all ordered the ' Roasted lamb rump and mini pie duo' asked how we would like the lamb cooked etc. When the meal ( finally) arrived didn't understand why asked, how we would like our lamb cooked.. It looked like the meat had been shared between the 3 of us. Can only describe it as 3 small round clumps on each plate didn't even resemble a roasted lamb rump. Therefore a little disappointed with main meal.

I met with a friend for lunch after receiving a 40% discount code, we were going elsewhere. We both ordered a gorgeous summer salad which was very nice and tasty. It was a very hot day so we sat outside. My friend ordered two drinks on the app but it charged her twice, Dan, who was on the bar, handled the problem extremely quickly and very professionally, thanks for a lovely experience.

Really, really crap all round. Don't bother because the service is poor and the food is abysmal. Dry, cold food and ridiculous wait time.

Best part of £10 for a ham and cheese toastie ,and the weakest poorest hot chocolate ever experienced ,no cream no marshmallows ,no flavour ,toasties was just ok but how can it be wrong ,2 slices of bread toasted with ham and cheese (actually bought in product )captive audience and obviously know it

Came in for breakfast ordered at 11.55 finally got food at 12.33 love wetherspoons for value and quick service but these guys need some serious staff training worst wetherspoons around

Acabo de probar una de las nuevas hamburguesas gourmet Big smoke. Salió apenas tibia, el joven que servía era muy disculpado y la devolvió a la cocina. La comida de mis amigos estaba al 90% comido para cuando llegó mi reemplazo. También hacía frío y estaba celoso. Prefiero mis hamburguesas sin un pedido secundario de intoxicación alimentaria así que se lo devolví al gerente esta vez pidiendo un reembolso. No puedo creer que dedujera el costo de la bebida del reembolso. Sugiero tomar los lápices de la zona de comer y dárselos al personal de la cocina, ya que parece que los conceptos básicos de frío y calor están por encima de ellos

Enjoyed fish and chip meal with a teacake just curry sauce not the best I've had but still OK. Will use again really enjoyed it
