My first time here today can I say that the food was lovely and delicious 😋 I really enjoyed my meal very nice and tasty 😋 I had the scampi and chips and peas so nice and asked for bottle of water and some ice I got it they went above and beyond to help you and I can highly recommend this cafe also had a homemade scone with cream and jam so tasty 😋 10 plus out of 10

Absolutely dyer, just don't bother! £10 for a breakfast that was barely cooked, the greasy cook wearing dirty kitchen clothes coming out the kitchen didn't fill me with confidence. Deep fried sausages half cooked bacon and the rest was undercooked, left it and went to the local Wetherspoons. I'd avoid this place if you want something decent to eat.

Food is quite basic, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, soup etc. We had jacket potatoes, one with cheese and one with tuna and they were ok. I noticed a lot of people buying scones, which looked freshly baked. However, our coffees we're only lukewarm. Should've taken them back really. We specifically visited for the fortnight Wartime Music and Dance afternoon, which was very good. I would advise to get there by 12 to get a table.

We came for lunch. 2 of us had hot beef sandwiches, one a jacket potato and one a toastie. All were good sized portions, really nice quality and fairly priced. We were warned about waiting for the food and it was 25 minutes as promised.

Called in for lunch whilst out shopping and was really disappointed. This used to be a good place to eat at the Batley Mill Shop but it has seriously declined. My food was wasted as it was unpleasant and the coffee was cheap-tasting. My friend’s coffee cup had lipstick on it (she wasn’t wearing any). Lesson learned and we won’t return.

It was the first time of visiting and won't go again the salad served with my quiche was black, they must have seen it but still served it to me. When I told a member of staff they were totally not interested, I always trusted that the good name of Massarellas meant quality but looks like it's not.

Once a fortnight there is a 1940 dance. It's free with lots of dancing but the cafe does like you to buy something. In the past there was a hot plate with roast potatoes and lasagne etc. It was lovely. Now its a very limited menu. I'm working my way through the small menu. I've had jacket potatoes with cheese and beans and it was very nice but I wish they would ask if you want the coleslaw on the plate and also ask if you want dressing on the salad. I want neither and have to wipe it off the food it has touched. It can get warm dancing but there's no chance of the air con going on as it is broken. The rest of the outlet is pretty cool with their air con. Supposed to be well ventilated because of covid!!!!

We had the all day breakfast. Very disappointing. I really don't think it was cooked fresh. The sausage was like leather on the outside. And spongy on the inside. It had either been recooked or microwaved to reheat. The bacon was like cardboard. The reason I gave 2 stars is because the mushrooms were delicious. Disappointed it didn't come with toast. Should have gone to wetherspoons

Not our first visit to the Mill but first time eating here. First impressions are a rather dull setting with no menu on the wall just a printed sheet, nothing in the cabinet, one or two cakes on display. You really need to see some sandwiches, a nice salad or cakes to tempt you. Food was okay,a breakfast, toasted sandwich and omelette, my salad garnish was pale lettuce, the small end of a tomato and cucumber, even these little details make a difference. Staff are doing their best and were fine but won't be back!

Visited this establishment for lunch yesterday. The initial welcome is poor - little information about food on entry, no cakes / sandwiches in the chiller, small menu with very limited choice on display at the counter. My wife had the cheese and onion toastie and salad - no choice about which type of bread and there was hardly any cheese in the toastie. I had the hot beef roll, onion rings and chips with a bowl of lumpy gravy - the colour reflected the bland taste - unappetising. Service was take it or leave it, the decor uninspiring and the cafe was a large space with many tables, but few people sat on them. The other 2 cafes which we know well were busy and welcoming. I doubt this cafe will survive much longer under the present managment!

Went for a trip out with mum and brother. Plenty of space, different seating and even a cosy corner where the ladies were chatting. Good looking cake offering on display. The scone with cream and jam was on offer with a lunch. We had steak and ale pie and jacket potato. The pie was really tasty and didn't have that dried out look from been out too long. The scone was huge and very tasty. Service was great and prices fair. If you can't walk far like mum it's very close to the lift.

13.20 is not unusually late for a lunch but we were disappointed with the empty racks on the counter and the number of items missing from sale. My wife made do with a scone which she enjoyed and declared “very nice”. I asked for the pie of the day - but was told it had finished, so made do with a stew and some chips. The stew was quite good and meaty and very tasty. The lady serving me was helpful and cheerful and brought the food to our table saying she’d warmed up the stew a little as it had been out some time. Other staff, clearing tables, etc, were far from cheerful and seemed quite churlish. Prices were not high but seemed worthy of nicer surroundings and better service. No improvement on my last visit in 2017

God what a horrible experience! Visited with 4 friends for a girly catch up and nothing was good! Firstly the service, the older woman on the roll was slow, rude and had no idea what she was doing! The coffee made by this woman was watery and cold and she ended up over charging me! Then the food was cold and horrible portion sizes! £6.20 for pie with a few chips and that’s all! I could fly to Paris for cheaper! Food took ages to arrived the cafe was too warm and frankly unclean and messy! It was horrible

Fairly mediocre large cafe in Batley Mill Shopping Centre. The staff on our latest visit, today, were more efficient and seemed happier than before and the coffee was much improved on previous coffees from the past. Notably, they don’t take as long as infamous Costa to prepare the coffee. A reasonable amount of buns, biscuits and pastries in sale.

Just returned home from taking my disabled sister to Batley Mills where, after an enjoyable 2 hours shopping, said we decided to eat at Masserellas cafe on the top floor. The time was 1.25pm and I ordered a jacket potato for both my sister and I only to be told that unfortunately there was only one Jacket potato left. I let my sister have it and, disappointed, ordered a cheese & tomato toastie. Whilst the jacket potato was worth £4.90, the toastie at £4.10 most certainly was not. BUT the biggest annoyance of all was when I saw the same waitress deliver 2 very appetising Jacket potatoes to a table less than 30 minutes later. Nobody asked us if we were prepared to wait - simply told none left !!! I have visited this cafe many times but never again!!! I am An exceedingly annoyed customer who would willingly have waited a half an hour for my jacket potato.

Arrived in the que for lunch at 11.27 am today with +50 people in front of us. There was only one person serving at the time. While waiting in the snaking barriers they opened another que at 11.45 pm on the other side. The people in the back of our qué ran over to the one they just opened. We eventually got our food at 12.15 pm. Also, the tables and chairs were dirty. The food was fine but the wait was unacceptable. Very bad management.

After a bracing walk around part of Digley Dam this was an ideal stop off to satisfy healthy appetites. It wasn't particularly busy so my friend and I were fortunate to select a table by the window to sample views of the surrounding countryside that the area is famous for. We both chose the regular Fish & Chips, good value at £12 though smaller portions are available at £9.50. My friend's Side Salad cost £4 which I thought expensive for what he received while a side order of Mushy Peas set him back £2. I thought the drinks were expensively priced, £2.90.for a pint of Fanta Orange but we'd visited for the Fish & Chips and these were delicious so it was definitely worth the effort. The menu is quite extensive so there are plenty of alternatives to satisfy most appetites and palates. A good experience.
