Status Fisheries in Bradford

Very poor quality food. Burnt chips and old Donner meat. I even asked for fresh. Not going there again. This place used to be the best many years ago

nice food but very unhappy with the delivery driver. he phoned me to come out of the house as he couldnt be bothered to get out the car to bring my delivery and i am disabled so was hard for me. also the delivery driver in black toyota iQ had a black poodle dog right next to my food and this is so unhygienic and should be banned from carrying animals when delivering food. apauling

Went In for fish and chips .. was s very good portion ..tastes really nice and fresh a must to try

I was quite skeptical about changed owners however the new boys did not dissappoint good service great food cant complain.

I've been to a lot of chippys in and around Bradford, and this is my favourite. Freshly cooked fish, proper chip shop curry sauce, and you can take your own containers for sauce and peas, so that helps too. Delicious! Reasonable price too

Chicken kebab really tasty and cooked fresh with fresh salad and sauces .ordered fish and chips x2 good sized portions priced fairly well but not the best fish and chips I’ve ever had but not too bad .how ever the kebabs are great 👍

I have been going to status fisheries for years and their standards have never dropped. Everything on the menu is good. I would definitely recommend the achari chicken pizza for anyone who hasn't tried it. You will love it.

Horrendous!! Fish was discussing! I swear you can get a Tesco fIsh an it would taste better! the Pepsi was the only thing that was good and the donner omg even my cat said No! Was so smelly! How is this place sending food out like this! DO NOT EAT FROM HERE!! Sending food that is on the verge of going off!! Ohh the chutney was nice lol. 😂

One of the best fish and pizza shop with best quality and economic price. Do try their grilled tandoori... Authentic 👍👍

I have been eating from status fisheries for a long, LONG time. Back when they only did fish and chips and donner kebab. That's it lol. So I know this place very well. Around about 4-5 years ago, me and my family stopped ordering from status. Their food wasn't fresh, it wasn't prepared well and the quality just dropped overall. We were upset because status had been our go-to spot for decades. But we just couldn't hack it any more. This year, during ramadan, every place was busy. There was a 2 hour wait and for some reason, I gave status fisheries a call. My mum wasn't happy, let me tell you that. She said she didn't want to get food poisoning, especially in ramadan 😂. Anyways, I took the risk and placed an order. The food arrived 5 minutes before iftari, and let me tell you, I was in for a huge, HUGE surprise. I ordered quite an array of items as there were around 8 of us and we were starving. The fish and chips were piping hot! The fish was coated in a thin, golden batter that was crispy and satisfyingly crunchy. The chips were thick, soft and cooked to perfection. Proper chippy chips. The donner was blazing hot, fresh, as though they had just sliced it. Nice LONG strips of donner with the classic status fisheries taste. Combined with chips, salad and the OG mint/green chilli sauce, I felt like I was in 1999 again. The cheese burgers were all fresh, came in a massive portion with a huge amount of chips. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy and packed with flavour. And even the pizza was nice. The last time we tried their pizza, we hated it. It tasted like it was made out of foam and lego lol but this time... This time it was totally different. We orderd a simple margherita. It had a nice, healthy amount of pizza sauce on top of a soft, pillowy base and lots of cheese to top it off. Simple pizza, done perfectly well. Every item we ordered, was fresh and absolutely delicious. A stark contrast to the last time we ordered. Ever since ramadan, we have ordered at least another 5 times. It never disappoints. So it couldn't have been a fluke right? 5 separate orders, fresh, hot and delicious food every time. I don't know whether you have changed owners, employed new staff, or what. But whatever you're doing status fisheries, keep on doing it. My whole family now believes that you have turned over a new leaf and honestly, there's not a single thing I can complain about. Food is fresh and tasty, and the prices are very reasonable too. I believe status fisheries is back. Keep it up guys, stick with these standards and you'll get us coming back again and again, and probably many new customers too, insha'allah. I'll add more pictures if I remember to take them. We just usually dive right in.

I used to come here regularly since i was a kid and have giveb 5 stars before but recently the prices have gone up, the food quality has gone down (it looks like a 5 year old makes the pizzas with bits of random meat on them, the chicken is smaller) and the customer service is just garbage. A female reviewer mentioned how they ordered on the phone, came to the shop and other people who ordered after them got their food and left and thought perhaps they were treated this way cos they're women - no, that's just the level of garbage customer service they provide now. How do you serve other people first before customer's who have already ordered? Sort yourselves out. I know quite a few people who avoid now because of these reasons - this store used to have a reputation for good quality and these guys and throwing it down the drain which is sad to see.

Even though its 5 stars this place is 10/10 for me I am reminiscent of the old days where on school lunches (6 form at a local school) we used to trot up to Status Fisheries and get a donner kebab or a burger meal or a fish butty. Great people. At one point I was addicted to their fish butty special which was like a huge Fillet O Fish due to the tartar sauce. Highly recommended place good sized portions too!!

Food was awful bought fishen chips and chicken balti pizza kids only ate small amount as it was very greasy and not cooked properly then they were sick after a short time. I have rang status fishery they didn’t say much.

I tried fish n chips from status fisheries exactly 11 years ago and have been a regular since. The fish always tastes great and and the chips are cooked to perfection. I wouldn't however call it best fish n chips ever until they stop watering down their mayonnaise.

I recently visited Status Fisheries, which has changed owners since I last visited many years ago. While the range of food has increased considerably, the standard has alarmingly decreased. The previous staff always greet you with a smile and were polite and friendly. Sadly, this has been replaced by a grunt and indifference by staff when placing our order. I ordered fish and chips and a donner kebab. The chips were placed in the cardboard box at least 5 minutes before the fish was ready. This meant that the chips were almost cold while the fish was piping hot. The quality of the chips was awful; if I was given a taste test I'd have said they were yesterday's chips. The donner meat was cold and tasted old. The higher than average price and poor quality of the food was deeply disappointing and the nostalgia of visiting my regular chippy went in the bin with most of the food that I'd ordered.

Friendly staff. Good prices. Have offers every Wednesday. Deliver food. Can only eat the fish and chips as it's not yet HMC certified, which is a shame.

The donner meat and chips was huge. The only unfortunate thing here is the service. The ignore you like your not even there. Took 10 mins to get served. Food is average not fantastic.

Health and safety is an issue as well as mannerism. The waiting time is horrendous, an the seating area to wait for the food is absolutely filthy! Save your money everyone

Voy a nivel mucho el pescado y patatas fritas son de una porción decente y muy buen gusto. Su donner es uno de los mejores de la zona, le agradezco los precios han aumentado en los últimos años y te cobran extra por ensaladas y salsas que poner pero en general la calidad de la comida es buena

This place has gone down hill the prices seem to creep up and the quality of the food is not how it used to be the fish used to be much better and the donnar used to be more cooked the staff are rude and put you in a rush this place thinks its too big for its boots im a regular at wajs fast food now fish tastes much better a much cheaper and the customer service is excellent sorry guys you have to realise theres alot of takeaways in bradford we can pick and choose so less arrogance

Went back here after some time, terrible customer service, very rude man on serving counter, made such a big deal because we asked for a little salad. Food is over priced and nothing to write home about.

went to buy some fish and chips as went with friend whom recommended them, when i ordered fish and chips i was given some ones else order, when i went back i spoke to guy at front whom couldn't speak English. i was so disappointed in the service.

I go here on/off the fish is covered in batter, the chips are inedible and the salad is big chunks of onions to fill the box.... All this is normal for this shop but a new technique I have seen in play both times I've last been is the staff short change you, the prices on the menus always have the fish and chips plus mushy peas and drink less than £5... The staff try charging u more until u point it out to them, seems a bit deliberate

I ordered quite a big order since my brother kept on saying that status fisheries fish is nice. So I took his word for it & being it the weekend I placed a order of 4 fish & chips, 3 cheese burger meals & 1 cheese burger meal with only cheese & no salad & sauce on this meal because I told the man who was on the phone to make sure they remember because my son is allergic to sauces. After 20 mins my brother picked up the food but there were no drinks with the meals? Also all the cheese burgers had salad & sauce. I rang them up and told the man on the phone and he put the phone down then I rang again & asked for the manager & they put me on hold. Finally my brother rang & then he was told the manager is off & will be back on Monday. So what kind of customer service is this when we pay for the food & if my son ate the burger with sauces he would have ended up in hospital. So status in my eyes has fallen

Excellent Fish & Chips served in an immacilately clean take away, good portion size, fried in Palm Oil so has a more authentic taste than those using vegetable oil. Good prompt service. The Fish & Chips here is their signature dish - stick to is and you won't be disappointed.

favourite - double scollop butty with donner = £2.00... cant go wrong reallyvery good eats from this place that does fish n chips as well as asian fare like donner meat, samosas etconly downside is that there is no seating... but that is a definition of takeaway
