Went for fish and chips takeaway I am disabled with a lung condition told I had to wear a face mask showed my inhaler told I needed exception card (they don't exist) won't be back, being supportive does not exist here.

Called in for 1st time for fish n chips to be met by a grumpy unwelcoming young girl who had a couldn’t care less attitude, she made me feel like I was a nuisance just being there n having to serve me, shall not be returning, will spend my money elsewhere where feel welcome by staff

This restaurant is no longer a WEBSTERS but still has the name above the door and on its restaurant menus, which is probably why the reviews are not good lately Websters of Baildon are still excellent I called after it was taken over not realising it had been, I wasn’t impressed at the greasy offerings, both myself and my dad decided we would no longer be going, we found out from our local one that it was no longer owned by websters which was obviously why our bad experience after being customers for many years.

Don’t bother, awful soggy fish and the mush peas was just green water yuk . Waste of money and calories. The fish was mushy a total disappointment , it was a choice of subway or Webster’s wish we had gone to subway . Will drive past next time no wonder it was quiet

Been here 2 or 3 times now and on each occasion the place has been dead. On this most recent visit we arrived about ten past midday to find all the doors locked! We could see a lady inside hoovering the floor, she clearly saw us trying to get in but ignored us. After going into the adjoining takeaway to inquire if the restaurant was open we were told it was, and had to enter through the takeaway part. Once inside, the lady with the hoover was clearly put out that the restaurant had actually got some customers and with a face like a slapped backside tried to put us on a table in the window, but when we said we'd prefer to sit on a different table where there were some toys for our young son to play with her attitude got even more surly. The completely empty restaurant was also freezing cold and my son actually had to keep his coat on throughout our meal. Saving on the heating bills Websters? When our meal arrived (served with a scowl), the fish was acceptable, the chips very dry and the 2 small pots of ketchup not nearly enough to compensate for the dryness. The kids dessert was supposed to be a chocolate brownie but the only option was a dry chocolate sponge (think school dinners), with either vanilla or chocolate ice cream. When we asked if we could have a bit of both, the waitress looked like we'd asked her for a pint of her own blood, and said "no, it's one or the other!". Would this have been such a big deal, as she was hardly rushed off her feet. When we went to pay the bill she was then grumbling about the fact that we didn't have exact change! Does this place actually want any customers?? Well here's 3 that they won't be getting again, that's for sure.

Absolutely awful! We made the mistake of trying Websters in Idle as our usual chip shop now closes on a Sunday. Never again. The chips tasted as if they had been fried with burgers in the same oil. By far the worst chips we have ever tasted

We usually have no complaints about the food or service and have been many times but on the 6th May 2019 which was a Bank Holiday I had what I can only describe as the worse soup and sweet I have every experienced, The Menu had things on that were not on offer, so I went for the Pensioners deal, the soup was supposed to be potato and Leek , it was tasteless as if it had been watered down several times to make it stretch out, My Partner who normally would eat almost anything tasted it and said it was horrible and it tasted like soap not soup, I chose the chocolate pudding and custard, the custard looked like dishwater and tasted revolting it was a sickly white again even my partner said he didn`t want it, I complained to the waitress about the soup and pudding and she apologized but did not offer a refund despite taking both items back untouched, as I stated I have never had a reason to complain before but I would not go again on a bank Holiday.

Called in on my way home on my wife’s recommendation as I’ve not had them from here before. Got to say the fish was amazing chips nicely cooked and a damn good size portion too. All male staff on very friendly and welcoming. I will happily return again even though I must pass about 10 other fish n chip shops to get there. Well worth the drive out.

Came here on sunday 10th March for mum in laws birthday..was a large party in for an 80th birthday but that didn't stop us getting seated quickly.There were a lot of young staff working and i wouldn't fault a single 1 of them friendly polite and efficent.. food arrived and was piping hot and delicious was my first visit and will definately return..

Called in to the takeaway today for the first time. Got to say they were the best fish and chips we have eaten for a long time. Large portions and the fish was delicious and covered in a lovely golden crispy batter. Staff very pleasant and very chatty. We live a few miles away from the shop but we will definitely visit again.

Ordered a Fish and Chips meal.Fish was tiny but very nice, the batter was a little dry but the fish itself was tasty.The chips were abysmal. They were done fresh as they ran out on the previous customer, they seemed rushed and half cooked. The oil must have been far from hot as they were soggy when served and the portion was just over a single spoon full (less that the small bag they are served in).Expensive for what you get (3 Fish, 2 Chips and a Sausage was nearly £20)

Twice I have visited in the last month and both times the fish must have been sat out for such a long time - the batter was hard and crunchy and the fish itself was so dry - the chips were tasteless too.

Visited the place with the Mrs due to a stressful day. Staff was extremely unpleasant at first, but her attitude changed when ordered with manners, saying please and thank you. However, chips were stale as seemed to of been sat there for over an hour. And the Haddock was cold and too crispy with batter. Certainly won’t be making a visit back there in a hurry.

We have eaten and enjoyed there fish and chips many times but this time it was the last straw we arrived at 1810 and ordered the restaurant was completely empty apart from our selfs waited and waited we totally were ignored the music went off so went through and complained the food finally arrived at a wait of nearly half our later the wasn't ang explanation or apology the fish and chips were fine but not worth the hassle all so the restaurant maintenance needs sorting as the was a bear wire sticking out a socket on the wall obviously we did go near it all in all a terrible which we will not be repeating

Had a takeaway a couple of days ago and all I can say is that it's the worst fish and chips we've ever had. The batter on the fish and cakes was horrible, I'm pretty sure they had been stewing under the heating lights for hours.The chips were anemic and tasteless. Will not be visiting again. Ever! Cannot believe this shop is apparently the same owners as Baildon. No comparison.

Always go here for our fish n chips because We like our chips brown and crispy, like they used to be, not pale. I can ask them here to leave my chips in a bit longer and fish which is no problem as I have encountered at other chip shops, who's chips are on a timer to cook. Service always good

Restaurant was cold and empty for most of our visit. Prices dearer than other fish and chip restaurants not as nice. No kids hot dogs and no white bread, with Morrison's only two minutes drive away I'm sure someone could have ensured they could fulfil their menu. On a positive note, they do have a kid's play area.

Been before to the outsales and although pretty good Fish & Chips, not as good as Baildon's Websters 2-3 miles away. On this occasion- although the fish was beautiful, the batter was soggy and stuck to the paper. The chips weren't exactly hot either. Will go again because it's handy for Morrisons but disappointing on this occasion.

Went for a chip butty &a; gravy at lunch, the chips were really good but the gravy was really awful. It was tasteless and full of fatty lumps. My friend said the fish was good. Would go back but just avoid the gravy.

My aunt Barbara said she loves it here so I called in too after a morning in hospital it was just the pick me up I needed - massive portion of chips with my fish and my son gobbled all his up too

El peor lugar en el que puedes comprar el pescado y patatas fritas. El pescado es el tamaño de los peces y las patatas fritas son en seco como si se han dejado para giurs y la porción no completo mi pecera que me sirvieron.

Un rápido almuerzo visita resultó ser una buena idea. Soy un gran fan de pescado y patatas fritas, me gusta pasta crujiente, una sólida y real de pescado bien cocinado patatas fritas, y todo esto siempre Websters tuve un gran almuerzo. Pot de té, 2. 5 tazas, pero podría haber sido un poco más fuerte para mi gusto. Buena comida, buena para ver la vieja artesanía de servir pescado y patatas fritas vive en.

Visited here with the family we all had fish and chips to eat in. Friendly helpful service and very filling large portions would visit again

Drove 7 miles to get one of their haddock and parsley fish cake on arrival I was advised they had run out they offered to make one for us but it would take 20mins so declined however decided to have fish and chips instead Because of the let down they did not charge us for them NOW THATS WHAT I CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE well done guys and thanks

Called today at Websters Idle whilst out on business. Had a great fresh Fish and chip lunch. Just right for a Friday finish. Great service by my waitress Chelsea. Left to use the table and wi fi before my next call. Will definitely call again and sample the Yorkshire hospitality.

We ordered jumbo haddock and chips with peas and what a small portion of peas it was.... We ordered a normal haddock and chips with curry sauce also a small portion of sauce.... Now this is what got my goat and that is we ordered a mermaid pizza that turned out to be a Chicago town mozzarella pizza from Iceland usually 2x for a pound and chips in a can....! 5 in qty if that and some ice cream that was and a Fruit Shoot that's not a Fruit Shoot. The fish was nice but service was very much as if they were not satisfied with their job. I might go again but only for adults as the kids meals are not worth £5. In total it was £26.89 for the meals above

Just been to take away and highly disappointed. Half of food was cold as wrapped up before special order was ready, over charged and child's meal was advertised with toy and drink, neither in bag or box

My sister,nephew and myself enjoyed our meal ,1st time we had been to the restaurant in Idle. My sister had fish chips and curry sauce ,nephew sausage and chips and I had fish cake chips and mushy peas. We both thought it was the best fish and chips restaurant, the service was good and we will definitely visit again.The lady who served us was friendly and helpful forgotten her name it was Saturday 5th December lunchtime.

We have been to this venue several times since it opened and have always enjoyed the freshly made fish and chips, the customer service is good and with a smile....

I really like it here, fish and chips are yummy, the restaurant is warm and cosy and the staff are helpful and welcoming. I really hope it doesn't close again.

I purchases a portion of chips from here and was very disappointed. The chips were very bitty and quite greasy. They rested heavy on my stomach. On the plus side, they were hot.

Our last meal at WEBSTERS due to its closure was to say a sad affair but we decided to go in the cafe and have our usual jumbo and chips, we felt let down, the fish was considerably smaller than when in the restaurant and we didn't feel comfortable with our special weekly treat so it looks like the end of the road for us, we can't understand why the closure when so much had been spent on refurbishment including a new entrance, we were told it was down to business being too quiet but it was not long ago it was done so surely this would have been apparent before spending all that money, we don't buy the excuse but hey ho can't now go,

Enjoyed lunch with my wife here today.Choice of menu with specials, vegetarian etcWe chose the over 60s meal. Two courses with tea/coffee and bread and butter for £7.55Good service by efficient friendly staff, comfortable clean surroundings and good fresh food.Nice to find somewhere close to home.

I was travelling from one job to another today so called in at Websters for a sandwich. I was starving and looking forward to a tasty snack. I asked for a bacon and sausage sandwich on brown, requesting that the bacon was really well done. Instead I got bacon that was greasy, fatty and very pink, along with a sausage that was burnt. All presented on a white doughy bap which was too soggy to take the meat. Dreadful experience. I couldn't eat it. I shall not be calling there again.

We called into the Idle restaurant for lunch on a wet Wednesday afternoon due to my husband having a very rare day off so we came here as a treat.For a fish and chip restaurant, it is very well appointed and stylishly modern. To be fair though, it isn't cheap and you are paying restaurant prices (nearly £9 for their bog standard fish, chips and mushy peas).They have recently had a redecoration, which I don't understand because it was lovely the way it was and not in the least bit in need of it. The benches along the windows have been removed and replaced with just tables going along with net curtains for privacy. More than enough light comes in. In fact MORE comes in without the benches there taking up most of the windows, which are floor to ceiling.The clientele in Websters each time we have visited, has usually been quite elderly as I know they run some sort of over 60s lunch time special, which is great. I personally can't say I've been there when there has been many other young couples like us there, or families. I'm sure they do come in, just that we have rarely seen them as it seems to appeal mostly to much older people. I only highlight this because it's a shame there aren't more families coming in as it's lovely for them and we would reccommend family eating here. The prices may also be an off putting factor though, especially when you can feed the family for less at McDonalds which is 2 seconds away at Five Lane Ends.The service is always very pleasant and I have never been able to fault it. We were greeted warmly on arrival and given a choice of a couple of tables. Our orders were taken swiftly and courteously and our drinks appeared first with no delay.The food was excellent. We both had haddock and chips, except my husband had jumbo haddock with curry sauce and I had the standard one with mushy peas. The batter was lovely and the chips were great. I've never had a bad meal here, ever. Hence we keep coming back as a rare treat.We used to go to the Baildon branch, but as there is virtually nowhere to park there, we opt for Idle as there is always parking available outside.Its got such a nice, modern and uncrowded feel to it, which I really like. It has never been full or busy whenever we have gone. This for us is great as I don't like heaving restaurants at all and as they provide great food and service, makes this a bit of a hidden gem really.My family from Merseyside, whenever they visit, always ask to come here to eat as they say it is the best fish and chips they've had and love the style of the restaurant. An endorsement indeed! :)

we were a little disappointed today, the refurbishment was almost complete but we found it quite dismal, a move around of furniture so i was told the previous week would let in more light, this was great as the large window area was ideal for my aunt whose failing eye sight needs all the light they can get, im afraid the next visit with her will get many complaints, the lovely windows are now covered with long net curtains which block the light and given it was a miserable saturday lunch time it seemed dull and miserable inside too, also the fake book wallpaper really does make it look cheap, all a shame as the fish and chips were still great, not so much as i did see the funny side when an obviously new waitress came running to us with extra bread we ordered(she had forgotten) with half a slice in each hand, we did see the funny side as other diners were also looking, a plate next time dear please haha

Really looking forward to fish and chips - to be totally disappointed! Both the fish and chips tasted like they had been waiting around for some time! Fish and chips, fish butty, a fish, peas and curry was just short of £13. Not really a cheap meal. Though having said all of that, the peas were lovely. Just in case, this was the idle branch - never had this problem with the Baildon branch

We went to Websters in Idle a couple of weeks ago. We were a group of five and all had the over 60's menu which was excellent value and great food. One of our party had recently been diagnosed with a gluten intolerance and Websters were able to provide her with fish and chips cooked separately and in gluten free batter! There was also gluten free ice cream for dessert. The staff were so friendly and helpful we couldn't have been looked after any better. We all enjoyed our meal and if any one has gluten intolerance then we would definitely recommend Websters as a good place to go! If we lived nearer we would be there every week!

my visit here this week was much improved as our last visit a couple of weeks ago was not the best, the large fish was very well done and hard, we asked for our fish to be lighter done and it was perfect in comparison to our last visit which i would have sworn was a warm up,but on mentioning this i was assured this never would happen! we left feeling much happier about returning as we are great fish and chip lovers, we have no complaints of the staff who we always find friendly and attentive and nothing seems too much trouble.

two occasions now i have been for fish and chips etc. and two occasions they have forgot some part of it - first time a couple of sausages and the last time 3 bread cakes !!!! by the time I got home and realised it was too late to go back and if I had gone back then the food would have gone cold - expensive enough as it is without getting ripped off as well !Will not be going again

We'd eaten in the restaurant a couple of months previously which was quite good, so I had no hesitation calling in for a take away. I don't know what Websters did differently but I'd have to form a view that the fish fryer on this occasion must have been standing in for an incompetent trainee!There was a mountain of prepared haddock, fish cakes and sausages ready but no queue so my worst fears that the food had stood for too long were confirmed before I even took the first bite. Small over-cooked haddock, a fish cake that ended up thrown away as the batter was inedible. A generous serving of chips but they were not appetising as they had too many small bits of potato in them.Of the Yorkshire fish restaurant/franchise type places we've been to I would now place Websters on a par with Drakes and Graveleys (that's poor going on for terrible). A place is only as good as the customers last experience and I'm afraid I won't be calling here again in a hurry.

Me and my partner went to the Idle branch of Websters for a nice Sunday dinner out. We were the only customers in the place at 6pm! this rang some alarm bells but we stopped to eat anyway. We ordered 2 x fish and chips, bread and my partner ordered tea. I decided to just get a fruit cordial which the menu stated was 65p. The meal was good and portions although not the biggest were reasonable. We got the meal fast but then had to wait a while for the bill and to be asked if we wanted anything else which was weird seeing as there were 3 members of staff hanging around and only us in the place. When we got the bill I thought there had been an innocent mistake as my codial was charged at £1.50 and described as 100% fruit juice. I told the staff who explained that the price was correct. No amount of arguing would work and they said the menu was incorrect. All told the bill for 2 drinks, 2 fish & chips and 1 mushy peas came to £19.75 without tip. Ridiculous and despite the good food I won't go again, I hate feeling ripped off.

This is one of the best fish & chip restaurents in the Bradford area. No soggy fat loaded batter or chips here. Just about perfect. Price is right as well. We have the pensioners special-excellent value
