Went with parents, had the carvery which was excellent as usual, dad had gammon, egg and chips. Food piping hot, all great quality. Staff friendly and welcoming especially Pete the chef who served the carvery and came round to check everything is okay. Well worth the money and a trip if you are in the area. Cannot praise the place enough.

This is a great place to go out to just for a nice lunch , its great to have a catch up with family and friends , definitely one of my favourites! 10/10 love the staff and food🥰

My friend and I ordered the carvery, Pete the young man serving was polite and helpful. The meal was well presented and was very good.

Fab Burgers and pizza excellent .. apple pie was yummy and the ice cream sundaes were amazing. Great value for money and excellent service

We stopped in for breakfast this morning as a spur of the moment decision. Pete, the chef, came out to speak to us as we plated up our breakfast from the buffet and was full of smiles. He then came out later to ask how our breakfast was. Definitely the best breakfast we’ve had here!

Nice place to come with the family, a play area outside for kids and good food all round, with good customer service, nice to see the chef come round checking on the food for everyone.

Good food nice well cooked and a great selection of food nice carvery also pizzas look nice and the other foods they do friendly staff

Carvery was excellent, plenty of choice and fresh produce, 3 types of meat to chose from which were nice and tasty, good experience would definitely come again.

Great selection of Burgers and Pizzas on the menu. But as usual we opted for the carvery. We all love it here. We believe it's the best around the area.

A superb carvery lunch, would definitely recommend. The meats were delicious and very well cooked and we had a very varied choice of vegetables.

Stopped off for a bite to eat on the way up north and was really glad we stopped here as the food was excellent and Peter the chef came to tables to check customers were satisfied with the food.

booked a 2pm slot for a carvery , found the safety precautions fine on arrival. Shown to table where we could take off our face masks and ordered drinks and carvery. Masked up to go to food deck for the chef to serve what we required, then the plates were taken back to ou table for us. The meal was very good and we ordered puddings with extra custard. Thank you we did get extra custard , which sometimes doesnt happen at other venues ( who can also charge ). The staff were very good and looked after us well Thank you all.

This si such a lovely place to visit. We stopped here on our way to our destination for our holiday. We opted for the carvery which was really nice. They now offer smaller portions for people like my mum who have a smaller apatite. Well done to the staff who kept everywhere sanitized and us up to date with when we could queue for our meal. Well done to the staff who did a fantastic job.

Had the most amazing meal at this establishment,the food was prepared beautifully and the staff were friendly and helpful,I would highly recommend people to try this place out quickly as it does get extremely busy ,however this doesn’t stop the quick service ,I will be visiting a lot since it’s a lovely place to go !!

Recently visited this pub on a number of occasions,throughout August on eat out and help out,the food was exquisite each time I've visited, it's the best burger I've ever tasted, the staff and service was excellent, I shall continue to eat out at this establishment in the future as they have specials on every night also.Cannot understand why people have left bad reviews unless they're the people you hear about on the news who get paid to do so.

Visited during the Eat Out offer, booked in advance and advised to arrive no more than five minutes early. Very efficient on arrival with clear in - out doors, shown to our table in the function room - definitely spaced from others (only mentioning that because of contradictory information in a recent review). We all had carvery - there was a good selection of meat including turkey, ham and beef. The vegetables were fresh and hot. We were served by the chef rather than helping ourselves; I prefer that as I hate to see the piled up plates when some people serve themselves. All very good and excellent value at £15 for 3 including drinks, will definitely be back.

me and my wife booked in for a meal the other day. Unknowingly it was on one if these half price days and it was rammed to the rafters we had booked a table and waited there as requested. But after 20 minutes we both got fed up and decided to leave. They must of been breaking the fire safety capacity laws. But all in all very poor. No service at all everyone running around frantically. A complete un managed farce. We drove home to Scunthorpe both hungry and never to return

I visited Green Tree on a busy Sunday with my partner and enjoyed an amazing carvery! They were also very adherent and enforcing to the social distancing guidelines, ensured we sanitised on entry and scanned the code for track and trace. Would recommend to anyone!

We had a family visit a got a good value carvery with a good selection of Vegetables and a nice choice of deserts. Yes it is part of a chain so is pretty predicable but for under £40 for 3 meals and Deserts along with drinks can not be bad. All in pleasant surrounding.

We have been for tea today and both had Fish and Chips and mushy peas .They were lovely. We also downloaded the app and got 25% of the meal .Thankyou .

A very cosy pub, great selection of starters and pizza's plus they have a great carvery with a good choice of vegetables .... Extremely good value for money. We noticed a nice outdoor play area for children too.

Very clean place and friendly staff, couldn’t do enough for us, fantastic selection on the menu for us all, being a pizza and carvery specialised restaurant, meat lovers will adore this place. Meals served very quickly and hot. All the vegetables to my liking. Pizzas are good value for money, especially Monday’s 2-4-1. Can’t fault it.

Went here yesteday for a carvery and pizza probable one of the best weve had my partener and daughter had carvery and they said it was lovely i had pizza amd it was the best ive had in a long time . The service was brilliant too so we will definately be returning .

Hi, we attended the green tree on Christmas day as a family of 10, absolutely made our day with the quality of the food and service to match,our experience at the Green Tree made a special day into extra special, we returned on the 4th of February for another family get together for my brothers 70th 9 of us, again the food was excellent with service to match, all the staff made a real fuss of our brother and we all had a wonderful time and left with a smile, and today the 11th February myself and three siblings returned to the Green Tree to have one last meal together before our sister returns to Australia, this time we went for breakfast, and wow we weren't disappointed with the excellent food and fantastic service, so a big thank you to the staff at the Green Tree and were already planning our next visit.. Absolutely shocking service I received today and that is putting it politely. I was mortified at the state of the carvery deck looked like the vegetables had been there all day. Save your money and eat elsewhere. Been Stonehouse before and never this bad

Went here for my dinner with my family and what a mistake this was. Met at the front door by a wanna be bouncer chewing gum. Sat down at table, went to bar thank god my kids didn’t come as there is a room behind the bar where you could hear some staff swearing loud. Went to the dried out disgusting looking deck to be greeted by someone who clearly didn’t want to be there - stay away unless you think that this is acceptable when we spent around £50 absolute waste of money and time and I am really suprised this place is still open when there are so many other wonderful places to eat

This is the weirdest carvery I have ever had.. it was absolutely vile!! The meat was full of fat all way through, the veg was cold and certainly not worth £8.95.. total rip off

We used to eat here regularly. At lease once a week. But this was before it got the Stonehouse tag.!To say we live within walking distance we barely go. The whole place looks like it needs steam cleaning and I should have realised how bad it would be when their billboard announces that they do 2 x Fish and Chips for £12....!!The chips taste like really cheap oven chips. Lots of them. But, they're pale and insipid. I ate three before giving up.The fish is advertised as 'golden and crispy.' What we got was soggy and pale. And, as for the buzzer... when you order, they give you a buzzer. A grotty looking device that needed cleaning.You then go and sit at your table and wait for the buzzer to go off... then, after sitting down and taking your coat off, you have to pick everything up, carry it with you to the other side of the pub to collect a plate of food, to then go to a hot bar and help yourself to peas, salad and tartare sauce. The bowls looked as though half the world had picked over them and it was more than obvious that many spoons had been dipped in and out. NOT GOOD. We went without.Personally, I'd rather pay more, get good service, and good food. Why not serve real chips. One's that are double fried and serve less of them. Quality over quantity would be better. And as for the fish... 1 more minute in the fryer would make all the difference.I probably won't go back. Not unless it changes hands and turns back into the 'great' place it used to be.

Very nice meal husband had carvery and I had fish and chips both were very good .Been for breakfast one sunday and had Christmas menu one Saturday night before C Nhristmas was all good will be back again The staff are very good and helpfull

We went here for xmas day dinner on 25th dec 2019 and I most say it was amazing. Staff was amazing we will be booking it again for 2020 very very good

We came for breakfast with santa on 22nd December. The staff were amazing and did above and beyond their roles. It's the second time we have done the santa breakfast and we will definitely be returning next year, too. It was also my partners birthday and one of the staff came out with a piece of cake with a candle. The waitress was brilliant with the kids and when one of our darlings knocked their drink over she was brilliant, replacing the drink and the kids colouring sheets, nothing was too much trouble. I can't see why there are any bad reviews because for breakfast and dinner we've always had a positive experience.

Came here on the 22/12/2019 travelled from scunthorpe thought we would try something different, upon arrival we noticed it wasnt busy, got a table straight away which was a bonus, ordered food, sat down 40 minute later still no food, went to the bar to ask where our food was I was informed that it'll be another 5/10 minutes as there was a wait on food which I wasnt told about.. We finally got food I had gammon and egg with peas and the dirty wedges, well my wedges were lukewarm and my chips and peas was cold and the egg was dead like it had been sat for too long.

My partner suggested green tree as it had been nice the last time he visited with a colleague. Disappointing. We arrived not too busy but with the new table layout and many tables reserved there wasn’t much choice. Got a booth next to a small reserved table. Got sat down looking at menus and then there was a commotion as apparently our table had been reserved the family was fine seated on an alternative table but a guy who wasn’t in uniform (but was getting himself involved in the seating arrangement) was rather rude. Stood at the bar with his pint giving me the evil eye (as if we had moved the reserved sign which I can assure you we didn’t). So while partner ordered food and drink me and the baby were sat uncomfortable as the guy kept staring. Food wasn’t great either had 2 large carvery and baby bowl. When I went up to get my carvery the gentleman before me was given a lovely great slice of turkey. I got some old scrappy bits from a bowl. Wasn’t offered any red onion. And veg was lacking in choice. No staff interaction so can’t comment on service. Not great all round.

Went for a Carvery with the children last night. The meat was delicious, but the food was cold. Cauliflower cheese was rock hard, couldn’t even get any bubble and squeak out the serving dish it was that hard. Roastes where nice, mash potatoe was as dry as old boots and there where no carrots just peas and sprouts. You do get what you pay for and as carvery this is cheap but could definitely do with some improvement. The woman serving the food was also extremely mardy, the waitresses however where lovely. We will go back and give it another go but if there’s no improvement we won’t go back a third

Had the carvery, my son had burger with wedges, carvery was amazing, super tasty, only point I would state is it could of been a little warmer.

No Yorkshire pudding. No mash. No calflower. Meat was very dry. Dispointed this time. But would go any to see if it was a one off.

I used to love having a carvery at the Green Tree but what's happened this past couple of months!?. The sage and onion stuffing is always solid as a rock and dried out, and the mashed potato is the same (like someone forgot to add butter or milk). I'll give it one more try but if the next meals the same, then i'll go somewhere else....

4 of us went yesterday had the middle size carverys 2 had pork and 2 beef.. The pork was lovely and tender (like pulled pork) although do wish they had crackling like Toby carvery. Lots of veg, cabbage, swede, carrots, cauliflower, peas and mushy peas. I also added beetroot from the salad bar. My friend wished the gravy was a bit more tasty as he thought it lacked flavour. another friend thought it was soon due a referb I didn't notice as was hungry and just wanted good food fast

Didn’t feel like cooking or driving any distance so chose our local for a change and were more than impressed with a fabulous and much improved carvery with perfectly prepared stone baked pizzas picked by our youngest! Great hosts too, keep up the good work

We enjoyed a lovely carvery on Sunday 15th Sept, there was a good choice of vegetables and meats. They were all very well presented and hot.

I have been coming to this place for yeasts and years and never had an issue, until now.

We visit very regularly, on this occasion we had a family get together and the staff were excellent, made us all feel welcome, explained all the relevant offers available, they couldn't do enough for us. The food was great, we had carvery and pizza's, both top notch. Highly recommended.

Having visited here several times recently with our dog we decided to visit today as we were passing. We sat where we had previously been advised we could sit with our dog. We bought drinks and ordered food, to be then told we were unable to sit at the table and were expected to eat outside (was starting to rain). We refused and were refunded for our meal and asked to go outside to drink our drinks. Whilst we accept not all pubs and restaurants are dog friendly it appears they pick and choose when they are and are not dog friendly depending on the staff working that day! Very disappointed but did us a favour as we found a much more welcoming dog friendly pub serving lovely food not too far away!

Lovely meal, friendly staff. Bit of everything for everyone. Pizza for kids, carvery for mum, burger for dad. Help yourself to salad, chips n veg , as much as you want. Excellent value, couldn't ask for more 😁

Breakfast was awful. The food was tasteless, I had a few mouthfuls and couldn’t stomach anymore. So I had some toast. I asked if they did any vegan spread, no they didn’t. I am so annoyed I paid for food I didn’t eat or enjoy.

Yes Shane, I bought the standard carvery. So in future, if there's 3 meats and sausage, but I only choose to have one meat and sausage, can I have extra sausage to replace the 2 meats that I didn't want, or was the chef correct to refuse me extra sausage on my previous visit!?.

I often attend the Green tree for the carvery. Yesterday (12.7.2019), the carvery meats were beef, turkey, what looked like gammon, and sausage. I was served a slice of turkey and sausage, but didn't want either the beef or gammon, and asked for another two sausages instead. The lady chef told me that I couldn't have extra sausage to replace the two meats that I didn't want, which i thought was unfair. I'm not sure whether this is company policy, or whether she was just been awkward.....

Not been here for quite a while and must say what a great improvement. Decided to have the carvery and it was beaut. Plenty of meat and a good selection of veg. The pub is clean and tidy and the staff were lovely. Looking forward to my next visit

We booked a table for Saturday evening at 7pm. We arrived and ordered one pizza and two carvery meals. The pizza arrived freshly baked but, when we went to get our carvery meals, there was only gammon available and the vegetables were, at the best, not freshly cooked and, at the worst, in short supply or run out. We were not told when making our order that the choice would be so limited - this was, obviously, unacceptable to some other customers. Having eaten here before and enjoyed the experience it was a disappointing meal on this occasion. We must say though, that the bar staff were both friendly and pleasant.

Was wanting a carvery on a recent Sunday shopping trip. Wanted something quick, no frills & in the vicinity of where i was at the time.

Carvery cheap. Had turkey , if he could have sliced it thinner he would have needed a laser, I ended up with just crumbs of meat , no slices . Plenty of them but very unappetizing. Roast potatoes like rocks must have been there all day . Waited fifteen minutes to be served , even then I had to find a bar man and tell him to call someone . No bar staff about either . After we ate ,an accident occurred outside and staff appeared from everywhere. Poor customer service , good choice of veg but carvery means slices of meat . When I said it to him , he didn’t even reply just thrust plate at me . I wish I had complained on the day , Tuesday 18th because his attitude stank, no greeting or conversation . Was one of my favorites but disappointed today

If I could do minus stars, I would, waited 45 minutes for the food. Chicken was rubbery and couldn’t even bite through it. Chips cold. Chicken wings had a hair on. Nachos had barely any cheese. Worst place I’ve been for food

Can't comment on the other food because we always have the carvery which is very good and great value for money. The roasts are well cooked and even with a 'small plate' which I have there is a good sized portion of meat. Then the vegetables - there are always at least 5 different veg plus roast and mashed potatoes, again well cooked. My only gripe is the lack of poultry gravy for the turkey. The only gravy is beef flavoured which is too strong for the turkey. Otherwise it would be a 5 star review!

We had been travelling over 3 1/2 hours,feeling very hungry we decided to stop off at the Green Tree before setting back off to get home. My partner and I had a carvery, my son a garlic bread. It was absolutely lovely just what we needed. Staff always nice and friendly it finished off a great weekend.

I have to say, so much better than before, well organised and very smooth service. Went on a Sunday so very busy but not chaotic like other places. The food was good and a great selection, so no complaints. Very much worth a visit.

Came on a football trip with a 2 coaches. Food for kids amazing value for money unlimited salad and chips and kids loved it. Great value for money and staff dealt well with amount of people in pub. Friendly establishment

Just had a fantastic breakfast with the Mad Hatter and Easter Bunny. Took my 7 and 4 year olds - both had a fab time. An hour and a half of entertainment including making glitter eggs, pipe cleaner bunnies, games and an Easter egg hunt in the garden, all based round a beautifully decorated tea party table. Breakfast was included in the price of £7.50 per child which was very reasonable as it is all you can eat, and the boys got prizes and gifts too as part of the event. We all had a fab time (Mummy included) with lots of smiles. Thank you and well done to the team for such a great event!

This was our first visit to The Green Tree (Wednesday 6pm) The place had a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff guided us through the ordering process and were very polite and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble. We ordered the wings starter and dirty fries, followed by pizza and burger for our main. The food was fresh, tasty and very yummy. My partner commented that it was THE BEST BURGER he'd ever had (and he's had a few lol)…My only small criticism would be the untidy "toppings" area near the Ice Cream Machine. It was rather messed up and the well worn wooden table top would have been better stainless steel to maintain easier.

Extremely good value carvery with good choice of meats and freshly cooked vegetables. Nice, family atmosphere with very pleasant and helpful staff. Well worth a visit and not far from Doncaster-Sheffield Airport.
