The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

We visited as a group of 12 couples, pre ordered with 2 courses each. It was absolutely perfect! Great service, good timings and food was top quality. I had salmon starter and pumpkin risotto and the portion sizes were perfect and it was all so so tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant for groups, dates or with friends & family as it’s got something for everyone and such a good atmosphere. 10/10. Amazing wine as well. We had The Stump Jump Shiraz :) Thanks for having us!

Amazing Amazing Amazing. We just love this place. The staff are so lovely, they make you feel so welcome. The cafe is cosy and the bacon baps and coffee are incredible.

Lovely take away fish and chips. All fresh and crispy. I was pleased they did a smaller portion of haddock and chips, it was delightful.

Wow our visit from start to finish was outstanding...service was spot on from the moment we entered the premises to our meal been cooked and served definitely will be returning as a landlady myself what amazing job the new managers are doing could not fault anything

Bit dingy lighting, given that the cafe is deep back to front. The teacake was delicious but only scantily buttered and not around the edges, so ask for extra butter. A serviette would have been nice. Taylor decaf tea was extra weak, ask for an extra tea bag to get a bit of taste

Great breakfast, great prices!! High quality ingredients! Cash only and be prepared to queue but it's worth the wait! Been to Whitby lots of times and finally found it ! Highly recommend

Stopped here mid way on a walk. Friendly staff, well presented cafe. Great menu with lots of choice. We had the smoked mackerel pate ans the smoked salmon. Delicious. Coffee was top notch too

Qué joya. Entramos en el café en nuestra visita para ver el lugar de la boda y lo que un hallazgo. Estaba empacado y no tenían mesa, pero nos ofrecieron una mesa afuera. Empezó a llover y salieron y nos trasladaron inmediatamente a la pequeña librería de enfrente. Antes de que ordenáramos nos alojaron dentro de la cafetería, ya que el personal se había movido alrededor de sus reservas para entrar. Gente muy considerada y amable. La comida era increíble y una elección, especialmente porque somos principalmente vegetarianos. Me impresionó tanto que llamé y reservé un brunch para el día después de la boda No puedo recomendar lo suficiente

Visited this little bar a few times on a stay over the new year. Nice atmosphere great selection of everything and lovely and warm in the freezing temperatures

An amazingly good meal . Everything just beautiful . Go , go , go ! Unfortunately , we couldn't stay as the bedrooms were fully booked , but I hope we can come back another time . We loved the meal , the wine pairing and the staff . One of the best meals we have had.

This is about 4th time I have been to Le Caveau, never disappointed, the food is amazing and the staff cant do enough for you, 'Mark the Chef and Alastair the waiter', I took my family for the first time on 20th December and they thoroughly enjoyed and plan to return in the spring, so if your looking for something that little bit special this is the restaurant, get booked on!

We had two meals here, the fabulous carvery Sunday lunch and a steak the night before as we were camping behind the pub. Both meals were spot on, and even though they were running late on the Saturday night, the table assistant kept us informed and relaxed throughout the time we were there. Damn good food, well kept local beers yes, you really should book a table soon.

We have now been to this restaurant four times and every time we have had a great experience. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Look forward to visiting again and recommending to friends!

We had tea, coffee and scones and everything was excellent. The owner was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The scones were the best I’ve had away from home, there was a generous amount of tea in the pot and the coffee was nice and hot. I would definitely visit again when next in Ripon.

There was a limited selection of drinks (no hot chocolate or bloody marys) and the food was not at its best but the chips were exceptional so i gave it 4 stars , the staff were kind and the countryside was beautiful. Thank you for the towels!
