The best restaurants serving British food in Blakedown and Chaddesley Wyre Forest West Midlands

I have been here several times for afternoon tea, and have always been delighted. Two savouries were served, a quiche and a small sausage roll. These were very good. The sandwiches however left me underwhelmed. The fillings of tuna, cheese and pickle, coronation chicken and a tomato are something I would serve at home. Whoever had made them was not overly generous with the fillings either. As for the bread, I can't say it was old, more likely made early and not covered so it had dried on the outside. The cakes were good, but not exceptional. Service was friendly, but they appeared to be short staffed as the scones took ages to arrive. We also waited nearly 15 minutes after requesting the bill, before we could pay. I was intending to come again for my birthday in a few weeks, but will look elsewhere.

Great food- poor service.. Visited over the Christmas Period with family and friends; food was great; however the service wasn’t; starters took ages to arrive; one waitress dropped the starter so we had to wait for it to be cooked again( not a problem) half way through our dessert we were asked if wanted our bill even though we hadn’t finished eating; When the bill arrived we had been charged the wrong amount and the bill was printed without the total; so we had to ask twice… table behind us complained food was cold; and another table their preorders hadn’t been done; the chef apologised to the couple; Like I said the food was great; service needs to reviewed as it spoils the overall experience and was a complete letdown on what could be a good restaurant experience…

Great hotel and lovely surroundings I

Lovely building in a great position. Ridiculous that you don't get parking refund from hotel 😒. Breakfast was excellent, staff could be a little more cheerful and coffee machine and toaster both need replacing.

First time here but will not be the last. Good choice. We all chose from the 2 for £14 menu and food was excellent for the price. All day breakfast with chips included was enjoyed by the menfolk. Ladies had a chicken dish and scampi. I requested salad rather than the peas and that was lovely. Chips best ever. With glass of wine x 2 small beer x2 and coffee x 3 the whole bill came to £52. Unfortunately, we did not have room for dessert.

Great friendly service, always accommodating, fabulous food can highly recommend curry night and the pies are simply delicious. All homemade food with quality ingredients. All set in a beautiful area. Highly recommended 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely pub, great service for a group lunch of 8 , not rushed and good food!

Always warm and cosy. Good choice of real ale, though sadly served a little on the warm side. There's a real fire too, but it's very rarely lit. Walk out of the back door and you're on the platform for the Severn Valley Railway, lovely heritage steam and diesel locomotives.

!!BEWARE!! They like to charge you different prices for delivery/online orders then they do collection. This has happened to me on more than one occasion now, they are clearly just out to rob you. When I questioned this practice they weren't interested and seemed to think it is perfectly acceptable to do this. To put it into perspective, and order that according to their website should have cost around £24 cost £31. A couple of quid fair enough but £7 is taking the piss! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Absolutely fantastic relaxed pub. They catered for our sons Baptism and we all had a lovely time. Everyone was super helpful and friendly and the kids loved the play area and the goats! The food was amazing! Highly recommend!

Booked a party of 7 for a special occasion afternoon tea. Service was attentive and speedy.. The sandwiches, cakes and sides were all homemade, delicious and thoroughly enjoyed. Surrounds in cafe nicely rustic , only complaint was the room was quite chilly but realise it’s an old building and only so much can be done to heat it. Everyone enjoyed the day and cafe were happy to provide boxes for the items we couldn’t manage to eat. Highly recommend ..
