I have been here several times for afternoon tea, and have always been delighted. Two savouries were served, a quiche and a small sausage roll. These were very good. The sandwiches however left me underwhelmed. The fillings of tuna, cheese and pickle, coronation chicken and a tomato are something I would serve at home. Whoever had made them was not overly generous with the fillings either. As for the bread, I can't say it was old, more likely made early and not covered so it had dried on the outside. The cakes were good, but not exceptional. Service was friendly, but they appeared to be short staffed as the scones took ages to arrive. We also waited nearly 15 minutes after requesting the bill, before we could pay. I was intending to come again for my birthday in a few weeks, but will look elsewhere.

We celebrated our grandson's 18th Birthday. What an awesome experience it was. From the welcome on arrival, through our pre meal drinks and during the amazing meal we had we experienced nothing but care, politeness, professionalism and a total wanting to make our night a success for us. A special mention needs to be made about Jack who could not have done more to care for our needs and sort any questions we had. Thank you Jack, you are a credit to not only Brockencote Hall but to yourself. The food was delicious, thank you chefs we did appreciate your skills so much. No wonder this establishment is the premier place to go for brilliant service, care and comfort.

Chose the Chaddesley Restaurant for a joint birthday celebration with a long standing friend with our birthdays a few days apart. Also because of the venue in blissfully quiet and in beatiful countryside at the Brockencourt Hall Hotel situated in lovely parkland and because the restaurant offers silver service and fine dining. The restaurant beautifully overlooks grounds and is quite grand but hot too full. Excellent meal and wine. All very un-hurried, but excellent service. Only one slight niggle was we could not order our meal whilst we were having an aperatif in the lounge, pity.

Lovely food but not to the high standard I was expecting. We all had the 7 course starter menu. A couple of the dishes were not spectacular and we have enjoyed far better menus elsewhere. The staff and service was excellent. Lovely surroundings and decor. Didn’t feel rushed and we were able to decide how quickly each course would be served. We used to dine every month and could return to monthly lunches but the menu will dictate whether this is possible or not.

We were kindly given a gift certificate for lunch at the hotel, unfortunately we misplaced it and notified the hotel of the issue… they said they had no record of it on file but if we found it they would honour it. Fortunately we did find it, however unfortunately they weren’t true to their word and dismissed it. Don’t buy gift certificates as they don’t keep a record of them and should do. At the end of the day someone gave them cash as a present and they just took it, does cash expire? Hmm….

Before the day, the service from the event planner wasn’t very good as I had to chase the menu choices and also didn’t get a response to my emails. I booked a private room for a family celebration lunch; room was very nice and an ideal size for our group of 11. We had pre-lunch drinks in the bar; service was slow and there seemed to be a focus on preparing drinks for a large group in another room. Maybe more staff were needed? The young man behind the bar seemed stressed and was quite rude when a glass of champagne was returned due to it being warm; his response was that he would deal with it after he had finished the drinks for the other group, We had ordered our meal at 1pm and by 1.30 there was no sign off any food. Again, we assumed that all the staff were focusing on serving the larger group but there was no explanation given for the delay. May I suggest that you stagger bookings or have more staff if you’re busy. Having said this, the young lady who was our main waitress was very attentive and helpful. A couple of minor points, we ordered one well done beef and one chicken without alcohol, there was no mention of this (although the names for these orders were supplied) and we think they were possibly given to the wrong people. There should be more attention to detail in relation to special requests in this standard of restaurant. It’s also dangerous to serve sweets on popcorn kernels as these stuck to the sweets and could easily be eaten and be a choking hazard. Overall, it was a nice meal in nice surroundings but the lack of attention to detail let it down. There was also no acknowledgement of the special occasion although the event planner had been informed of this.

Just returned from Sunday lunch and felt compelled to write a review as the whole experience was exceptional. We started with a drink out on the terrace surrounded by flowers, bees and butterflies busying themselves and overlooking open countryside bordered by trees. We were then invited into the dining room. The service was excellent, the staff friendly and polite, but most of all the food was superb, easily the best Sunday lunch I’ve had out…and I’ve had a few! Finished with coffee back out on the terrace in the sunshine. The best part is the price, for such great food in stunning surroundings in was very, very reasonable, will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

Friends of ours took us here as a treat - they knew we are foodies and they had enjoyed good food here in the past, so we had reasonably high expectations. We were welcomed and shown to a table in the lounge bar whereupon we were forgotten about until we chased up a young waiter who arrived to take drinks orders but we hadn’t been given a drinks menu so the waiter went and found us some and we eventually ordered some cocktails which were average at best. The dining room was nice enough - the food and service were hit and miss. We had monkfish cheeks (at a supplement cost) to start with which were overcooked and dry. My main of stone bass was very good but all my companions main courses (lamb and pork) were just average. Our bill was well over £400 for an average experience. We will not be returning. Our friends were embarrassed to have taken us here and they won’t be returning either. I would recommend the Venture Inn at Ombersely for excellent food and service.

It was a great joy to get away after the second lockdown (and before the next one which is almost certainly coming). The Chaddesley Restaurant is comfortable and spacious which left no concerns about covid. We went for the tasting menu. Everything was extremely well conceived and presented. The scallop starter was particularly good the balance across the whole meal spot on and the pace just right. A couple of the dishes were a spot light on seasoning but no big deal. Accessible wine list mercifully not too long. Service good.

I have just come back from a really good lunch at Brockencote Hall. It was a miserable rainy day but the experience cheered me up no end.The food here is very good indeed. I had a salad but it was not like any salad I had ever eaten before. It was memorable. My friend ordered beef and it was apparently every bit as good to eat as it looked on the plate. What impressed me was that I am vegetarian but do eat a little bit of fish. I was asked if I had any allergies and told the waitress I did not. However, she noticed that I had ordered two vegetarian dishes and came back to ask whether I was vegetarian or pescatarian because the canapé was fish based. That level of service is worth a lot. The fish based canapé was delicious. This lunch visit was very good indeed. They dealt with the covid restrictions well and I felt safe.I cannot wait to come back.

We have stayed at Brockencote once before and have eaten here on 5 previous occasions. Each time, the food has been of the highest order (and we have eaten at some fine restaurants around the world). The hotel itself is beautiful, secluded and all of the staff are first rate: friendly and very professional. If staying for dinner, the choice of two or three courses, whilst appearing to be quite expensive, is not: with the additional 'tasters', 'amuse bouches' and sorbets, it becomes 4 or 5 courses and we can assure everyone that the tasting experiences are sensational. The wine list is also excellent and is available by the glass. The staff are a credit to this excellent establishment. We did have one issue whereby a surprise gift had not been arranged as requested, which did cause major upset, however, the duty manager did apologize profusely and we were given a glass of champagne as a consolation. Cannot praise Brockencote Hall enough.

I booked the ‘Champagne Afternoon Tea’ on Friday as a birthday Present for my mom. When we got there, we were the only people in the room at the time and for some reason they sat us in the corner of the room. We asked if we could move tables to be sat by the window, the lady did say it was ok to move but we did feel like a burden. When we sat down, we where asked if we wanted a glass of Champagne which we said yes, then one of the waitresses came over with one glass of prosecco? 1) We asked for champagne (which was part of our package). 2) There where 2 of us? We said to the girl and she seemed puzzled and said, ‘oh he only said prosecco’ and went and changed it. But again, the general attitude was that we where a burden even though it was there mistake. Our food came out and the waitress explained what each sandwich filling was and the cakes etc. we requested gluten free and dairy free when we made the booking. The bread and cakes where gluten free but I can’t be certain about dairy free as nothing was mentioned. But we noticed they where all vegetarian options? We called the waiter over and explained the situation and he said she would go and speak with the chef. After about 10 minutes the waiter came out with 4 sandwiches (the main plate came with 8) which where 2 coronation chicken and 2 bacon and avocado. We said the prawns off the usual menu was missing and the tuna sandwich? And he said due to a mistake in the kitchen they had ‘run out’ and these 4 where on the house. Well not really, as we paid for 8 gluten free sandwiches and instead, we got 8 vegetarian? Of which didn’t have much taste at all. One of the vegetarian sandwiches was more or less just rocket. As he was reluctant to do anything about it and could see he wasn’t very willing to help we just asked for 2 hot drinks as we had only been offered the champagne at this point and hadn’t been offered a hot drink. The scones came out which the waitress did state they where gluten free (and they where lovely) but they put down a bowl of clotted cream and a bowl of jam. Assuming the cream wasn’t dairy free, and no one had said anything about it we simply avoided using it to be on the safe side. And we didn’t feel asked if it was dairy free would be very welcome due to the general attitude of the staff. When we finally decided to leave the lady at reception brought us the wrong coats out just to top off the whole experience. Overall, I felt so disappointed by the whole afternoon, after passing the hall for many years and my mom saying she would love to go there I thought it was the perfect birthday gift. However, it just left us feeling so underwhelmed and disappointed. The food and drink were a disaster from start to finish and the overall atmosphere was very unwelcoming. You would think for the price the staff would have an above and beyond attitude, but they came across as if bringing you a drink was a burden. Such a shame, it was a beautiful place and stunning grounds but for the price paid the staff let it down.

We stay at Brockencote once or twice yearly, while in England. The staff get high marks always for everything, but last year, we decided our 'usual' room needs a new bed. It wasn't as comfortable as it should be. We mentioned this to a housekeeper and a 'topper' was added to the mattress, which helped. That being said, we feel 'at home' there and felt comfortable clearing our table of used glasses to make space for friends joining us in the bar when staff were busy elsewhere. We love the food, atmosphere and the experience as a whole. We always have a great stay and it can't be beat for location and beautiful setting. Love the views from our bedroom windows and hearing the bleating of the sheep as we drift off to sleep. We were there near Christmas and everything was beautifully decorated, food and service excellent and this year we'll check whether our favorite room has had a new mattress and if not, we'll get a different room!

The staff are all very friendly and polite but no one really seems to know what they’re doing. They’ve just had a big staff change but it isn’t any better. The food was just ok. I chose the stone bass as main course. Had it many times before at this restaurant and it’s usually fab. Last night it was the size of a small fish finger and overcooked. I could go on about other things but I won’t bother. We won’t be going back anytime soon. We’ve given it enough chances. It has everything going for it and should be amazing. It isn’t anymore.

We visited here in June for a Sunday lunch and we had a fabulous meal - we suggested to two of our friends who had both celebrated an 80th Birthday this year if they would like to try it as a treat. We were called on the Friday to confirm our booking and were told that yes, we had booked for 1230 and would be shown to our table at 1300 which we said was fine. On arrival we were shown to the bar and served with drinks, we had to wait a long time for the menu and wine list and were not offered any more drinks, my husband went to the bar to request another drink for himself - we weren't shown to the table until half past 1 which was a long time after arriving before 1230! We were impressed by the service and the food was good but having said that, it wasn't hot enough but we were hungry so didn't complain, the veg were really hard, more raw than anything so a lot were left. We were asked if we wanted sauce - I had a chicken dish and asked for Cranberry and they said no we haven't got any, our friends both had pork and requested apple sauce and again they said no - to be honest I can't see the point in offering sauce which was horseradish and mustard only when only one person had beef! Still, the food was very good but if I am honest not as good as we had in June - also we had amuse bouche that time and I am sure a pre-dessert. Overall it was a lovely lunch and I still think good value for what you get but my husband and I were disappointed there were a few things that were not as good especially as we were with friends. We will visit again but hope to have the memorable meal we had back in June!

An imposing manor house down a long drive this restaurant exudes quality - of course at a price. The staff are formal, more so than the guests, and you move from the wood panelled lounge to the dining room on polished marble floors. There are fixed price menus although you can mix and match. We chose the 2 course "Seasonal" menu at £45. Scallops (actually just over 1 scallop) served with pigs ear was perfect although at £15 per serving a little more scallop would have been welcome. The Broadway Venison was some of the best I have tasted being tender and succulent. We had a white wine which was the cheapest at £32 but declined dessert again at £15. I might add that Turkey croquets were served with the pre-dinner drinks and there was also an amuse bouche. The atmosphere in the restaurant is a bit stiff and not fun but perhaps thats to be expected. The total bill for 4 was £271 (including service) which means that it is an expensive night out

Booked a family anniversary Sunday lunch with private room based on the reputation and reviews from friends. The Hotel and grounds were splendid and on arrival we had drinks on the terrace which was lovely, the good weather we had was a bonus. The private room was nicely laid out and a comfortable size for our party. The staff were brilliant, polite and attentive but not intrusive so there was a great atmosphere and we were all relaxed. The food was moderately disappointing though. It was beautifully presented and fresh but nothing special and I was expecting a gourmet delight for the price we paid. There were a few complaints about portion sizes and to be honest I have had a better lunch at the Chateau in Droitwich. All in all we had a good day, but a better lunch would have made it perfect.

Visited the Brockencote Hall for lunch recently and was very impressed with the whole occasion. The building and surrounds look amazing, the staff really know how to make you feel welcome. When it comes to the food where do I start! From starter to dessert the quality of the food was outstanding, the presentation and taste of the meals certainly make me want to visit again. Clearly a place for a special occasion and I will definitely be visiting again!

There were 3 tasting menu options available and we selected dishes from the two Market Menu's. Good choice of food, nice choice of wines by the glass to accompany the food and very good service. Very surprised at some of the bad reviews as we both thought the food was to a very high standard and at quite a reasonable price for the quality. Duck main course was delicious and to my wife's (and my) delight the deserts were absolutely first rate.

Three of us visited Brockencote Hall for afternoon tea on Easter Saturday. My husband and I had visited for meals and a overnight stay before. Decided to treat my 89 yr old Mother to afternoon tea. The hotel is lovely and the staff friendly and attentive. Afternoon tea was adequate but not the best we had experienced elsewhere, the bread seemed dry on the sandwiches and I had no cream inside my profiterole. The scones were warm and delicious. The downside was, we were seated in the library and guests checking in to the hotel had to walk through the library to the bedrooms, there was a wedding party in the conservatory and there were guests coming backwards and forwards while we were eating which spoilt the ambiance of the time we were there. It's a pity that a separate room cannot be utilised just for afternoon tea guests.

Brockencote Hall is a favourite in my family for meals, as the food and service are always excellent. Well, today they excelled. My grandfather had booked a table for four as a birthday treat for me. The service from beginning to end was attentive, friendly and professional from the waitress Danke (sorry if I spelled the name wrong!) Nothing was too much for her to do for us. As my grandfather had mentioned when booking that it was a birthday, I had a surprise birthday card waiting for me at the table, and after the lunch they bought out surprise complimentary glasses of champagne for us all with "Happy Birthday" chocolates. The food from start to finish was sublime (we had the market menu, and it is very good value for money). As always, from the start to the beginning of the visit, the experience was spectacular and cannot be faulted in a single aspect. I would recommend to everybody!

My wife and I entertained two friends to lunch here. I've known Brockencote since it was bought for a private house and then sold for a hotel many years ago. As it is now it isn't really my kettle of fish, a bit pretentious for my liking, but our friends had entertained us there and we thought it only appropriate to return the compliment.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights after a miserable two nights in the Melvern hills in a so called grand hotel , we loved this hotel and our room which was modern as was the huge bathroom , This is one of the best all round hotels I have been to, they seem to go the extra mile with all the treats in the room with Nespresso coffee machine, I hate Nescafé instant which you get every where nowadays also posh chocolates ,fruit ,jar of biscuits slippers and dressing gown and morning papers ,there aren't many places you get all that, there are lots of areas to sit and relax and have a drink , the restaurant is very formal with out being pretentious ,a nice varied menu and the food is first class apart from my Almond tart pud which was a let down (sorry chef ) ,the gardens are lovely and overall are stay was perfect ,, not cheap but worth it , We will return .

Food excellent. I asked Yosef the waiter about side orders, I fancied green beans and spinach but was told if I want side orders to eat in the bar! I requested that he ask the chef who refused to serve side orders in the restaurant. Clivedon, Claridges, The Connaught and The Dorchester, not to mention all local Public Houses all serve side orders. Photos attached of the cheese board parked uncovered outside the entrance to the lavatory being hopped on by flies. I asked the arrogant rude waiter to move it from the toilets and cover it but he said it is not my business and that is how the chef orders it to be stored. I asked for a manager and was told he had gone home. I have contacted the hotel but as of yet not received a reply. BE WARNED; the cheese may have been sneezed upon, been visited by flies and also consider the heat it has been exposed to in a busy corridor.

Booked on the spur of the moment, for lunch. It being a Monday the hotel was quiet, but the service was friendly and efficient from the moment we went through the door.We went for the two course lunch, but nibbles arrived with our drinks, an amuse bouche appeared between courses - all top marks. My cured salmon starter and sea bass main were superb - the sea bass the best I've ever tasted, perfect! My wife's pigeon breast with roast beetroot was given ten out of ten, her roast lamb also got full marks. The portions are not huge but somehow very satisfying - but you go to Brockencote for quality, if you want quantity go to a transport caff. Coffee and petit fours rounded the things off nicely. Not cheap but worth every penny.

The staff were immediately attentive and interested and the service throughout our stay was excellent. The menu was full of interesting choices, using ingredients suited to the season. Our meals were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The dining room has a calm relaxed atmosphere with lovely views over the terrace to the surrounding fields. It was an extremely hot day but with the terrace doors thoughfully open there was a lovely breeze keeping us cool as we ate. From the canapés served with our pre lunch drinks through to the delicious sweet treats served with coffee everything was faultless. My wife and I with fiends visited Brockencote Hall on Saturday May 20th for lunch (£35.00 pp) and once again had an excellent meal. On arrival we were shown into the library where we had the Chef's compliment whilst we perused the menu and then taken into Chaddesley Restaurant for lunch. We were first served a lovely amuse bouche then... The starters consisted of Smoked Salmon and the Hock terrine followed with mains of Lamb, John Dory and Plaice, and then desserts of Rhubarb, Peanut and Selection of Cheese. After our meal we moved into the Colonial Lounge and Bar for our Coffee and Petit Fours (£4.50pp.....Shame the coffee rather weak in the jug). The service throughout was attentive and helpful and making it a most enjoyable lunch.

We had booked afternoon tea as a birthday treat. When booked I was asked if it was a special occasion but when we arrived there was no difference in the experience. We were sat in the library which is lovely comfortable but with 2 other couples you do feel conscious that your conversation can be overheard, I would have preferred a choice and if asked I would have sat in the conservatory. We were served drinks to start with, a good range of tea and coffee but no soft drinks, we had 2 older children who had to have fruit tea and tap water or be charged extra fro soft drinks. Tea was served after about 10 mins , although it doesn't look very much it was actually very filling, the sandwiches were lovely - smoked salmon, cucumber, coronation chicken and bruschetta. No offer of a vegetarian option. The cakes were scones, macaroons, profiteroles, jam and clotted cream, carrot cake muffins. Overall an enjoyable afternoon, no offer of a refill of tea or coffee which for £25.00 I think there might have been. Overall a nice experience but not particularly relaxed atmosphere and rather pricey.

Fantastic venue located in peaceful Worcestershire countryside. This is an historic building with an impressive entrance drive and inside it feels very elegant with gorgeous interior designs. I have always wanted to dine here and my husband surprised me with the taster menu for lunch to celebrate my 60th birthday. We had champagne as an aperitif before sitting down in the beautiful dining room overlooking fields with sheep grazing. There were three of us as my daughter joined us and we were treated to superb service and stunning dishes which were all delicious. I was given a birthday card from the staff of Brockencote Hall, as well as a chocolate birthday treat. The whole experience was really memorable and made it a very special occasion.

This was the occasion of our friends' fiftieth wedding anniversary. I can honestly say it was very, very good. Tasty home cured salmon for starter, Roast striploin of local beef and and, for dessert, dark chocolate mousse with milk ice cream. Yummy, and all of it excellent especially the beef which melted in the mouth. HOWEVER whatever happened to the Yorkshire pudding? There seems to be a competition among chefs to see how much air they can get into the structure. They were all six inches tall and looked like large, lumps of volcanic pumice. Mine tasted like cardboard. Now ... you may think this is a minor detail. Not to a man born and bread in the Soviet Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire it isn't. It's sacrilege! My aunt Lillian's 'YP's' were nine inches across, had crunchy turned up sides and were served with gravy and mashed potatoes. I'm not trying to suggest that an up market place like Brockencote Hall should try something like that, but my goodness someone should tell their chef what a 'YP' really looks like.
