Nice atmosphere, good prices, centrally located

I have lived in stoke for 25 years and have never visited this pub until today. We were made to feel extremely welcome. The staff made every effort to accommodate our needs. The pork pies looked amazing. The beer selection was fantastic. Every one I tried was a winner.

Initially I thought the prices were too high in comparison with the food but upon tasting it was absolutely clear that this food tastes worse than a 3 day old donner kebab. I find it difficult to understand how anyone who calls themselves a chef can produce such substandard food. Eat here only if you have money to burn and no taste buds. Good luck

I went here for the first time today and I'm glad I did. The staff were friendly, the service was quick and the food (I had the mixed grill) was fabulous.

Enjoyed a great Saturday evening here when the band Citizen Stone were playing. Great Atmosphere, friendly staff.

Always welcomed with a friendly smile, the food is tasty, hot and served correctly, the choice are varied and there is a positive atmosphere created by the team. They do have a lot of local events on, and you certainly feel like it's a pub in the community!

Have not been a Toby for a while and can remember why now the food was average at best and having to queue up like ben in a cattle market says it all. The portions of meat are disgusting and the veg was barely hot the overall atmosphere off My advice is avoid at all costs I will not return and definitely will not recommend

Came in for Sunday dinner, they only had Turkey which is a bit disappointing but it was really nice, not as good as my nans but everything was hot, tasted yummy and there was plenty on the plate 😋 Atmosphere was a little dreary but it was an especially dreary day so that can't be helped. That said, the man behind the bar Craig is always pleasant and welcoming which makes a big difference to me.

We had to wait 50 minutes for our meal which in my opinion is unacceptable. The Pepper Mill is convenient to use as it’s next to the retail park but sadly I would rather find somewhere else to eat.

Absolutely brilliant food and service. Myself and my partner came here on a Saturday evening. We were served by Paul the General Manager who was very attentive and did everything to make our evening perfect. Steak was cooked to perfection and my partner loved his mixed grill. Can't recommend this place enough. We have already booked again for the family to enjoy for my step daughters birthday meal.

I rarely leave negative reviews because I’m fairly easy going but this place tested that patience I’m afraid. The food is average but that’s not my issue, it’s the shockingly appalling levels of customer service. I can forgive a lack attentiveness which they have in abundance but all the staff here are rude and obnoxious. I’d expect friendlier service if I was in prison asking for a medium rare cut of fillet steak with a smothering of Diane sauce.

We have only recently started visiting this pub and what a little gem it is, the staff are so welcoming, friendly and easy to have a conversation with. We had a sunday lunch and it was perfect! The meat was cooked beautifully and everything was hot and fresh, we have booked in for next week again! And to top it off we had 30% off too!
