I've visited the Potters Bar on many occasions over the last 30 months, and the service has always been great. Friendly staff, nice locals, a decent pint, and a decent meal too. I'm due to visit again this weekend, and that's reminded me to leave a decent review, as I've been meaning to for the last few visits.

Great pub with great drinks selection and dart boards. The quiz is good too and the brownies are worth a try. This is the best pub in Stoke.

We were visiting family in the area on Saturday and so decided to pop in for a couple of drinks and a good catch up. We've never visited before but we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were so friendly, especially Chloe who made a fuss of our children and dog. We were also extremely impressed that they had a dog menu, I mean WOW!!! We chose the sausage and mash with gravy which Barney absolutely wolfed down. Chloe was so good with our children that they wouldn't leave without giving her a hug goodbye, she's a gem! The bar is very pleasant and will definitely be calling in again when we're back!

Great community pub, family friendly both human and canine. Really friendly staff, clean, tidy venue. Just an overall welcoming experience.

Had a mixed grill, got 30% off, didn't finish it! Meat too good to waste so took it home wrapped in a napkin and gave the dog a mint day - chain pu food, nothing fancy, but hits the spot.

Called in for some food. Very busy but food was lovely. Bingo night too so we joined in and won the jackpot. Great night. Made to feel very welcome. Will be back when next in the area.

The staff were very friendly as soon as we entered plus the pub was already full so the atmosphere was great and we could also talk to each other without shouting the food was very nice and presented to us on hot plates very reasonable prices I would highly recommend The potters Bar to anyone who would ask me where they should go to eat out

Staff were really welcoming and friendly landlord made for an excellent family lunch out. Really good quality meals and portion size for money. Will definitely visit again, and recommend to all our friends.

Lovely meal. I recommend the rump steak it was lean and tender. The staff are friendly and there is a good atmosphere.

Great local Karaoke was much better last Friday being earlier. 9pm too late for entertainment as a general. Great atmosphere Would love to see some Sunday afternoon entertainment 😁 Service only a 3 as sometimes more bar staff needed

First time visit and I would highly recommend, good was very tasty, my sister had the fish and chips and she says the fish was lovely , staff very friendly. Will definitely be back

Fab pub lovely staff good atmosphere

Booked table online 2 hours before with instructions for low level access as wheelchair holder. On arriving very busy but was told table was at higher level. I then said to waitress that a table for four was booked for 20.00 hours and we would of left. Food well mine was aired others said if didn't have the 30% off would of not considered coming back. SORRY

Dunno what's happened the past few weeks, but 2 weeks on the trot now we've booked a table in advance to be told both times that we're not allowed sit at that table as the people at that table have "spoken to the manager". Been coming for a few years now for the quiz, shame that this is colouring our experience now

Booked to sit in the booth at 8pm for 4 people, when we got there other people in the booth and we were put on table 12. Didn’t know bingo was on so I asked if we could move into the other room so we could talk,the young man said he would find out and get back to us…he never did !!! Ordered a starter as a main but it was served as a starter and the other meals came later. Also there was a man vaping anll the time we were eating.. disgusting !!! All in all a great disappointment…won’t be coming again.

*Table not ready when we arrived despite booking *confusion between tills and printed menu meant that when I ordered two lasagne with one side order of chips one was delivered with the advertised side salad and garlic bread and the other served with chips, no garlic bread and a small salad when I pointed this out I was told the tills only allow the combination that we were served but I could pay extra for garlic bread if I wished. * waited 20 minutes after ordering deserts before having to return to the bar to enquire when we might expect them as we had finished our drinks whilst waiting. *ordered decaf coffee, staff were unable to find decaf on machine so had to settle for caffinated. *no vailla ice cream so had to have chocolate with our desert

A lovely evening for my sisters birthday 6 of us we chose the Curry night meal deal it was really tasty & we'll worth the money +a drink for a £1 bar service good & the young lady who bought our meal very cheerful & polite asking if we needed any sauces & returned to see if was all okay with our meal overall a enjoyable evening will definitely return soon & recommend to family & friends thank you

Food is average for pub food but we come every thursday for the quiz which is a brilliant atmosphere and one of the highlights of the week!

Food and atmosphere are top notch in the Potters and has been since Dan took charge. The service lets the pub down at times, as often you’ll find the younger staff playing hide and seek in the kitchen or office rather than manning the bar. Pub requires a refurb as it is getting a bit dated, and some of the paving outside along with the male toilets can be classed as health hazards. Considering the very high prices, the least the loyal customers deserve is a fresh interior and safety guaranteed outside.

Go once a month with My wife for a couple of hours and always enjoy it. A nice relaxing atmosphere and reasonable price beers. Just been the potters bar for food this time on the 3rd of February 2024. A lovely evening was had we had food and drinks it was really lovely food, and a couple of really good pints of real ale. A lovely relaxing evening was had. Good food, beers and friendly staff.

Food was horrible. We ordered 2 steaks, both medium. One was well done cooked. But both steaks was horrible anyway. Chewy and no taste at all. Nachos horrible. Why prices is so high? Do not recommend!!!

Great night at Bingo, Chris was a fantastic Bingo Caller. Top gentlemen and even delayed the bingo for us while we were at the bar.

Beautiful Christmas lunch with work buddies...v attentive and made the experience great....also catered for wheat intolerance so I could have dessert....so a big win there! Thank you all x

Simple food, pleasant atmosphere, and good prices (cheaper than eating the same meal at home) and Always some community event or entertainment planned.

Smelly toilets male and female, aging furniture and lacking any modern amenities such as live sports modern TVs or even a decent sound system. Rips in the carpets and also random filler marks where it appears a bodge job was attempted. Music was sub par, smoking areas appears to have broken tiles and to be growing mushrooms so definitely rotting away, also heat lamps don’t work over all in the above comments the pub is in major disrepair when compared to the likes of the ash tree rugeley stags leap more shockingly I was in the pepper mill over Christmas and was shocked to see the state of potters bar compared to another one of yours pubs. Lastly the dart area, what an utter disaster! Two dart boards is major need of replacement no ring light two broken dart oches one with a random bolt in it again another bodged repair by the looks of it. Marstons head office really need to pay attention to this pub it’s in major disrepair and even the atmosphere from other guests and staff showed the lack of care to the building due to the sate of the aging building major repairs and maintenance requires probably need a full refurbishment. Staff in general behind the bar were lovely. Will not be returning until major repairs have been completed like something from a horror film.

This was our second visit in a month. Great service and the food was lovely on both occasions. We will certainly be back again soon.

Just to thank all the staff for the wonderful Christmas meal we had. All the staff worked so hard. We were a party of 12 and the meal was served promptly and together. The food was delicious and hot. Well done to the staff and chefs.

Food nice but cold, bar and food service very slow and without personality. Our large party will not be returning. Table was not ready on our arrival. Just not enough staff employed to cater for the expected numbers. Poor management, obvs.

Boxing Day meal , what a shambles . Very disappointing, after having booked months before and pre ordered all our meals we get there to find 6 of them were not available. Some of the group ended up with nothing others ended up with just starters because of availability. E mailed the manager no response, absolutely shocking will not recommend and will not be returning .

Just been to have a festive meal with friends food was lovely ,the tomato soup is delicious served lovely and hot with a crusty roll ,our turkey dinner was lovely veg cooked enough and all was hot ,the staff were all amazing from greeting us ,to serving us all so thank you from us all and a merry Christmas 🤶 xx

So a huge group of 32 went for lunch on 7.12.23, food was absolutely dreadful, it was a Christmas lunch the turkey was like mush, the pigs in blankets were so pale didn’t dare eat them, all the veg may as well of been picked and put straight onto the plate uncooked is an understatement !!! It’s not just 1 person who left there food it was everyone, even people on a different table not in our group!!!! We complained to the manager but he didn’t seem to bothered nor did he dhow his face again, £20 give or take a head, plus drinks ontop, he earned a good wage out of that. They had three staff on but knew a big party was coming in, but no where near enough staff, 1 waiting on, needless to say I WONT BE GOING BACK ANYTIME SOON!!!! That was just my dinner that I left and pretty much every plate was like that!!!!

Today I was one of a party of 30+ from our slimming world group. The group came here last year and it was so good the decision was made to return. Huge mistake. The meal selections were given at least 3 months ago. There were just two people bringing out food. Sides and gravy were served before the main dishes. Plates and food were not warm. . I like my veg crunchy but they were raw. My side dish started off warm and so I ate that. Pigs in blankets looked so pale I worried that they weren't cooked. I have never left so much food on my plate. If I had been in a small group I would have complained but, as a very kind and thoughtful lady in our group had arranged this I didn't want to upset anyone. Maybe bar meals are ok here but not for something as special as a Christmas party.

Credit where its due. The place is a bit run down and badly in need of being done up. BUT the gaffer there puts his heart and soul into the place. Good food, good beer and good atmosphere. Dog friendly.

Booked a table for 8 in the conservatory for a family meal, booked from 12.30 until 2.30 however we got chatting taking photos and didn't leave until 4 , but that was totally fine all 8 meals arrived together and we're delicious same for dessert, a tab offered which was great rather than paying each time , we booked potters because the staff are lovely it's nice and warm also plenty of room for all 8 of us and the pram , we had the absolute best time and the price was nothing other than amazing, thank you everyone at potters, we will be seeing you new year's eve x

We had our party on the 14th October, the buffet food was great, Rachel Shenton (singer) got everyone dancing, Dan organised this for us. POTTERS bar did go there for a drink past 35 years but!! fed up with smelly toilets expensive drinks and out dated furnishings . please please look at the people it serves its very out dated out of touch with its regular customers .dont want a kids party every week .dont want a funeral party most weeks. look at the people it serves home owners who would like a classy pub with home cooked food and good service . Sorry but potters falls short of both, if only it woke!!! up to the money it could make and the service it could provide to so many people on this estate . The word thats missing is QUALITY

Booked for evening meal & brought our dog along too , what an excellent nt , food was first class , extensive & varied menu, but best pie i've had for a long time , wifes lasagne beautiful , nice surroundings , relaxing atmosphere & helpful & friendly staff , won't be long before we visit again

Visited with a large family meal We pre ordered the food a week before but there was no steak for one the meals even though we had pre ordered a wk before The food came out for all the adults leaving the 4 children waitin till last it would have been better if the children were served first as they were gettin fed up having to wait…..

We are regulars and spend £400-£500 a month. 5 price increases in a year! Gents toilets are dyer! Refurbishment scheduled time after time! All talk! Pub looks tired and worn out. I have a video which the site will not allow to upload but it’s leaking water from rainfall on the entrance to the pub and it sums up the level that Marstons as a business does not care! The staff are absolutely phenomenal and credit to themselves!

Fantastic service, lovely buffet with a great selection of food including food to suit our different dietary requirements, attentive staff and lovely atmosphere. We hired the room for a wake and we were allowed to add our personal touches to make it special for our family.

Recently had a 30th party there and it was great. We had our own private area in the conservatory for about 50 people with the outside garden for a bouncy castle too. The staff were great and really accommodating. Great little venue & the bonus of the band that played there that night too. We didn't try the catering there but heard its great. Thanks guys

We love coming every Thursday night to support our local pub and take part in the quiz. Dan is a really good host, and we are now impressed that you can order your drinks at the table on quiz night, it’s great!

Visited this pub as a friend of mine is a regular visitor and has recommended it. First impressions were good, busy friendly atmosphere, service was prompt as was the food order. Food came out piping hot and was delicious. Was only planning on staying for a couple of hours but there was a quiz on and enjoyed it so much I decided to stay longer, I'll definetly be back and altho I live a little further away, I think this could perhaps be a reg place to meet with family and friends for meals etc.

The staff were excellent service was superb. The overall experience was very very happy time for such a solemn occasion. The staff couldn’t do enough for us with thoroughly. Recommend to have an occasion there again.
