Enjoyed a great Saturday evening here when the band Citizen Stone were playing. Great Atmosphere, friendly staff.

Potters bar is a lovely pub with a great atmosphere. We went for a meal to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary the food was pretty good but I had steak and ale pie which was not that good it was very hard and crusty and not much filling in it . The service and staff were brilliant.

We went for a birthday meal, 5 ladies, at lunchtime Monday. The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. The food was very good and we enjoyed our day out. Glad we chose this establishment.

Credit where its due. The place is a bit run down and badly in need of being done up. BUT the gaffer there puts his heart and soul into the place. Good food, good beer and good atmosphere. Dog friendly.

Went at lunchtime but was for granddaughters birthday party food was lovely nothing to much trouble . Special thank you to NAT and Chris for making it really special and Dan for dressing up as a minion was hilarious .

Great quiz on a Thursday, nice atmosphere and good drop of Guinness

The Potters is a well known sport bar...so when we come to watch the big matches it's great. It ideally located by bus /coach station. But on Friday and Saturday night it's also become well known as the go to place, for the Live music nights. The atmosphere is always great, but like any place not everyone can get a seat by the band. So it would be more beneficial to all the patrons if (some) of the TV's could show the live band playing and not just sports...on those nights ONLY. Because most of the people coming on Friday and Saturday night come for the live music atmosphere... not to watch sport so everyone benefit. Music lovers and sports lovers.

Lovely meal at a very reasonable price, service was friendly and efficient.

The staff are very friendly and the drinks were great value for money. The food was great tasting and well presented. A couple of things weren't available but it is the holiday season so it was to be expected. We all enjoyed what we had and we will definitely visit again.

We were a party of 12 at 2pm and I wanted to say thank you to all of the staff from the kitchen staff for wonderful and tasty food to the bar staff who never stopped serving the whole time we were there to the wonderful serving staff who did an amazing job. The 2 young servers particularly who smiled the whole time and made our Christmas Dinner a wonderful experience. Not to forget the 2 male adult managers who were attentive and couldn't do enough for us. THANK YOU

Sienna served us - lovely and polite. Food came quickly and was nice. Pub is nice and clean and warm. Ladies loo’s do need some locks on the doors and the drains sorting.

Great community pub, family friendly both human and canine. Clean, tidy venue, food was grear and even had a helping hand. Just an overall welcoming experience. I had recently attended Potters Bar with several family members, a little get together. The venue was clean and very welcoming. The food service was great, with no issue whatsoever. As a fully inclusive environment, the venue was wonderful for my daughters needs (non judgemental and very safe). I'd like to say a big thank you to Ange, who nursed my grandson, so we could all eat. We even went back the same day to show our support for the big Christmas light switch on amd met santa! I would highly recommend visiting, you're sure to experience a wonderful day!

Lovely pub great food and always friendly

The food came quickly, and was delicious. All the staff were pleasant and Angela was very accommodating. This is the second time we've been here and I have no complaints yet.

Staff were really good happy and cheerful. Fast service with lovely hot food well presented. Good with family's as my youngest changed his mind after ordering doughnuts they brought him a scoop of ice cream and even a wafer so he wasn't upset .

Friendly staff and good service and food. Nice touch in having an excellent singer to pay respect to those that have lost loved ones in wars; the songs from 1st and 2nd World Wars a fitting tribute.

My 60th birthday meal. 5 people & toddler. You couldn't make any of our orders (the kitchen cupboards & fridge must of been empty) we had to keep reordering. When the food came I was embarrassed, medium steak (well done) I wanted a mixed grill. Surf & turf you offered scampi & gammon instead! Grandson appeared to enjoy mac & cheese. If I hadn't just come back from a fantastic weekend in Benidorm I would of cried. Waitress/barmaid was pleasant & smiley. When she asked if everything was ok, when collecting plates, I said well the medium steak was well done she smiled. And no I would never complain about food anywhere in case the chef did something nasty to my food & I use the word chef very loosely!!

This pub offers a really warm welcome and has a really happy atmosphere. Everyone is nice, the staff and customers alike, plenty of choice on drinks and a good menu.

Decent pub with plenty going on. Poker, quizzes, karaoke etc. food is generally okay, just standard pub food really. Drinks are good but a little pricey compared to other local pubs.

Understaffed when we were there and so a large delay on our food order. After an hour and a half we requested and received a full refund. this is not a typical experience though.

We love the Potters as it’s our local pub and we always feel happy, comfortable and welcomed. Food has improved massively but some days are better than others which is understandable as there probably are different chefs on. The only negative feedback we can give is the times of waiting. This seems to be down to lack of floor staff and the woman who is always there seems rushed and over worked. We had 3 courses and waiting for a while between then, particularly the desserts and was in nearly 3 hours in total between foods. Also plates weren’t cleared between courses and there are no curtesy checks to check if all is ok. Again, this appears to be lack of floor staff in a very busy pub. Would normally put us off anywhere else but we know this differs depending on what day you go and are always happy and comfortable. Overall, pub is fab, great choice on menu, polite and friendly staff and manager Dan takes pride in his pub. Overall would recommend.

Please don't eat here it is truly terrible,cheap produce and ingredients and what can I say about the so called chef,how this place is still open and serving food is a mystery as everyone we spoke to say's it's always the same and they would only pop in for a drink but would never eat there.

Where do I start,terrible food,over cooked and literally thrown on the plate, really don't want to be unkind but it was truly the worst meal we have ever had served to us anywhere in the country, could understand if it was just my meal but there was four of us and we all were disappointed with the food,used to be a nice place to eat,with decent food cooked well. Not sure what's gone wrong.

We arrived to only find choas, i dont care for the amount if people but yes you had arranged a fair outside i expected it to be busy but why didn't you accommodate for this & have more staff on. There were empty plates & glasses everywhere, ques backed up to the door ordering food, there werent even staff behind the bar, we had to walk around to find someone to ask so we knew where our reserved table was. We were told to use the code at the table & order food & drink yet it wasn't working properly & we couldnt order to dishes we wanted. We finally tracked down the same lad & he said he would have to get the manager to fix the app. The poor lad looked stressed as hell managing the pub floor on his own. He couldn't tell us how long it would take to fix the app so we decided to just up & leave without ordering. We will never visit again & we were so looking forward to visiting as the pub is just around the corner from my friend. We thought we were going to have a fun night of food & visiting the fair but we did neither.

Shut the bar early without warning, no bell rung and no advance warning from the bar staff. Is it any wonder pubs are closing hand over fist. Do you want customers or not? Shocking customer service.

We very often go here for tea at the weekend we went last night and on ordering were told they had no steak no fish and only had fries no chips we were disappointed no steak but ordered a alternative normally it doesn’t take long for food to be served but last night it was 40 mins before starters were served and an hour before our main was served very disappointed

Great pub, good atmosphere and good beers. Been coming here for many years and it's great that there's still a local we can rely on. Minor issue one evening as they stopped serving without ringing the bell, but this was a one-off occurrence and was addressed by the manager, Dan. Overall very happy, always guaranteed to have a good night at Potters.

Absolutely appalling meal wouldn't have given it one star as they don't deserve that, but couldn't put zero stars. Went for a meal the pub wasn't that busy. I've been in busier pubs before now. Ordered two southern fried burgers that came with hash browns, melted cheese and bacon in top of the southern fried chicken burger. I took the hash browns off the burger and cut it up and took one bite and it was stone cold. I cut another piece of the hash browns and that was still frozen. The food was sent back. They coukd have given someone food poisoning as if you can't cook a hash browns then it's god help the cooking of the chicken, and that's far more serious if not cooked.

We went to The Potters Bar this evening Saturday September 28th for a meal. I went to order and the first thing I was told was that there was no meat ,as in there was no steaks or chicken etc for mains, so we changed our order. We settled on the Ultimate Southern Fried Chicken Burger, which is a combo style including hash browns in its make up. Upon its arrival at our table, our server said here are your McChicken Sandwiches.....?!?@! This in itself should have been warning ⚠️. As the constructed burger is more than a mouthful to bite into I deconstructed it by taking out the hash browns. Upon taking a bite it (the hash brown) was cold and upon inspection the centre was actually frozen . That was enough... the food was sent back and upon reflection with my partner, we decided to ask for our money back, as opposed to having the meal redone. If the kitchen staff can't even check if hash browns are cooked through, I was certainly not prepared to put my health at risk by trying the chicken. I felt it to be an unfortunate experience which should never have happened. Basic errors like this put people's health at risk especially if chicken is involved. I would love to support The Potters Bar but if this is the best that can be offered on a relatively quiet Saturday evening, then I sadly will not be returning.

Every Saturday they have different live entertainment on that's generally really good. Two dart boards usually available to play on in a secluded area, good outdoor seating area. Decent food and drink for the price.

We booked the Potters Bar for my father’s funeral wake. From booking to the actual day went very smoothly, the buffet, drinks and service was excellent would definitely recommend to anyone needing a venue for a special occasion.

Visited this pub as a friend of mine is a regular visitor and has recommended it. First impressions were good, busy friendly atmosphere, service was prompt as was the food order. Food came out piping hot and was delicious. Was only planning on staying for a couple of hours but there was a quiz on and enjoyed it so much I decided to stay longer, I'll definetly be back and altho I live a little further away, I think this could perhaps be a reg place to meet with family and friends for meals etc. Update.. I have become a regular visitor of this place and wouldn't change now.. My look forward to place to be.

Been before food was OK then so came back, had better quality food for the same money elsewhere, Pepsi Max was flat as a pancake, woman server was rude when asked for an overcharged cold dessert to be warmed up as the tiny pot of custard was stone cold too. **edit** I appreciate your apology, and have been here before it was never like this, the drink on draft was flat as a pancake which I can forgive it was only your pop, but the food.... bits of both our meals were cold (mushy peas were stone cold) ,but the desserts really annoyed me because I've paid for it, a brownie&cookie dough (which is not a cheesecake if she checks your menu) is a weird request to have warm??? Are you joking lol you must be, to have popped it in the microwave at my request would not have killed her, the dessert served cold was disgusting and soggy and the custard was cold, she came back 3 times to tell me it's not served warm.... When she could have just fulfilled my request which is quite a normal one. I did not care for her attitude when I've paid for it, it wasn't free.

I've visited the Potters Bar on many occasions over the last 30 months, and the service has always been great. Friendly staff, nice locals, a decent pint, and a decent meal too. I'm due to visit again this weekend, and that's reminded me to leave a decent review, as I've been meaning to for the last few visits.

Great pub with great drinks selection and dart boards. The quiz is good too and the brownies are worth a try. This is the best pub in Stoke.

We are a group of people who want a good time and we can honestly say we really enjoyed ourselves the food we had was excellent the atmosphere was great and the service was spot on
