Absolutely brilliant food and service. Myself and my partner came here on a Saturday evening. We were served by Paul the General Manager who was very attentive and did everything to make our evening perfect. Steak was cooked to perfection and my partner loved his mixed grill. Can't recommend this place enough. We have already booked again for the family to enjoy for my step daughters birthday meal.

Last minuet booking, rang to make a reservation for early evening booking Paul took my call, asked if he could fit me and my wife Julie in, at 5.30 he said no problem. On arrival Paul made us welcome. We had a fantastic meal, great start to the weekend. Fantastic night out at the Rare Steakhouse Dresden, highly recommend this restaurant

Had my aunties wake here, service and food was second to none. Paul delivered the best customer service ever and we were all looked after very well. Plenty of food well prepared and constantly replenished. With excellent service from Paul. Cant recommend highly enough!

Baught my family for a meal today, have absolutely no negatives, food was brilliant, good quality, cooked just right and really reasonably priced, every member of the party only had positives and Paul the manager was genuinely lovely and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and accomadate us. Will definitely be coming back xx

We were worried about going out under the current circumstances but I felt safer here than anywhere. I ordered a steak and all I could say at every mouthful was Wow! I had never tasted anything so delicious and the honeycomb cheesecake was a Wow also. If you have never tried this place, give it a go and you will be back I am sure.

Me and my boyfriend visited rare last night, and the atmosphere, staff, dinner and drinks were all up to standard. Paul the manager/waiter was an absolute delight to speak to. He was funny, friendly and incredibly quick to serve us and hard working. We met the head chef, Danny, and he was immensely positive and honest about where the steaks were from, and gave us information on the source. He was informative, hard working and a lovely gentleman to have a conversation with on my birthday, which added to the homely and romantic atmosphere. I highly recommend this place as the service is quick and pleasant, as well as the overall vibe of the place! A perfect way to spend my 18th birthday with my boyfriend.

Visited rare for our Anniversary. As normal the service was great, and we Paul is always friendly and full of information on all the meals. The new menu was great. Good was delicious 😋 Little lady said the chips were amazing!! This is a great complement from her. We met the new chef (sorry didn't get your name) what a great improvement on the food also very pleasant and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Look forward to our next visit Keep up the amazing work.

Visited last night with my wife for a meal . We were disappointed to see that the restaurant was up for sale as we love eating here. As always Paul and the staff made sure we were welcomed and looked after. The food was excellent and the service exceptional. Many thanks

was back down visiting family alone and felt at ease to visit this restaurant on my own as I had been to the nearby sister and it was very welcoming and the staff catered for all my needs. the steak is amazing I would recommend a t bone, the cocktails are delicious :)

After visiting the restaurant in Newcastle we decided to try this one and I have to say like your other restaurant we were not disappointed once again the food was superb and the service was excellent. We would definitely recommend to our friends.

We visit RARE a couple of times a year and each time we do we promise to eat there more often. The manager is so lovely and nothing is too much trouble, whilst the food is excellent, in fact it is outstanding! The incredible thing is that prices are on a par with Harvester/Beefeater type places, but the quality is far, far superior. Highly recommended and kids eat free!

The foods great but what makes us go back time and time again is the head of house Paul he’s a diamond knows his stuff and nothings to much trouble

This was our second visit to rare steakhouse this was for my wife’s birthday the service is brilliant not overbearing but paul lets you know he is there if you need him and the food wow I had the sirloin and my wife had gammon and both were phenomenal my compliments to the chef this is our new favourite place thanks for a wonderful meal and experience Pete and Emma

What a hidden gem this restaurant is!

So me and my dad and his friend went for a meal initially the server seemed very accommodating upon being asked if we want chips or mash we asked for chips. When the food was served the chips came as wedges to which initially we questioned but were told this was normal. After the meal he asked was everything ok to which we asked are they chips or wedges to which we didn’t get a definitive answer I asked for an answer and the server said he’d speak to the chef and I asked for the feedback form this to which I never got an answer. Further on my dad payed for the meal but I felt aggrieved I then questioned it and got fobbed off. So I emailed about this issue and once again got fobbed off. So I chose to ring to which I got answered by the server that night who told me I was going to be reported to the police for harassment if I rang again and he was the manager and that was final absolute disgusting customer service and from a company I expect better

The rare stake house in Dresden stoke-on-Trent changed my mind on the franchise. I went to the one in Newcastle and had sub standard and terrible service. When my friends suggested this one I was going to say no. Never say no to this one everybody had good quality food and all cooked to perfection. Even the extras around the stakes had the personal touch to match the service. Thumbs up to this restaurant.

We went too Rare as two couples and all four of us enjoyed our meals very much and Paul the manager was extremely helpful and kind and as a personal joke between ourselves he got the cream to float on our coffees we will be back

15 family and friends came here to celebrate my wife’s birthday and we weren’t disappointed. The food was delicious the service was great and everyone received what they’d ordered no fuss no drama. The manager looked after us and nothing was too much trouble and we all had a great time including my two year old granddaughter.

Chose to spend valentine's evening at Rare. Everything was amazing from the food to the cocktails, everything tasted delicious and the service from Paul was fantastic. Personally feel that the chicken quesadillas should be placed on the menu all year round, they were that nice.

Lovely food and dining area, nachos for starter were fab. Steak cooked just how we’d asked. It is expensive but worth it for a treat. The staff were lovely, very welcoming and professional especially Paul who does a great job.

Went here last night for an early valentine's meal with my Husband. Excellent service from the waiter who even made sure he took our order before a party of 12. Very friendly and excellent food.

I went to RARE with a dozen former colleagues from the companmy I worked for for 40+ years until my retirement earlier this year.

After a disappointing visit to Rares other restaurant in Newcastle, I was worried when I found out our Christmas party had been booked at Rare in Dresden. I was happy to find that the two restaurants are like chalk and cheese. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was hot, fresh and all steaks were cooked perfectly. Anyone that has had a bad experience at Newcastle shouldn’t tar this place with the same brush, and give this place a try.

Credit where it’s due, I can’t fault anything about our visit. Food and service spot on and clean environment. Went on a recommendation and will certainly be back.

Visited Rare last night for the first time for my Nans 70th birthday meal and so glad that we chose to go there. The food, service and atmosphere was excellent. All of our party of 7 had different meals and every single one of us was extremely satisfied with the quality and speed of service. You can tell the food is proper home cooked and the portion sizes are really generous. I had one of the sizzling skillets with cajun chicken and steak plus a side of home made chips and onion rings for £15 which was massive and really tasty. Paul is a great host, you are made to feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. My nan received a complimentary slice of cake as it was her birthday which was a really nice touch. Will definitely return in the future and would highly recommend.

We booked a table for 13 guests for our daughters 16th birthday meal and were not disappointed at all. From booking the table, paying the deposit over the phone, to sitting eating our meals, the level of service was amazing, very professional and our daughter was made to feel really special, especially with her birthday dessert and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was extremely "child" friendly. Thank you Paul for ensuring we had a great night, we will certainly be coming back!

This is the second time We have visited this restaurant and on both occasions the food was excellent. The staff are very friendly and service is great. The décor is also very nice and spotlessly clean. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Six of us visited Rare for a friend's birthday meal. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the drinks. We happened to mention to Paul, the manager, that it was the birthday of one of our party and later in the evening Paul brought out a chocolate pudding with a candle for our friend. A nice touch. We have always been happy with the meals at Rare and relatives had their wedding reception there in June, which was handled superbly. Would recommend Rare highly.

Visited on a Sunday evening at 8.30. Every where else was closed. It looks nothing from the outside but is great inside. Great service, lovely food. A real gem.

When pulling up and seeing the outside I was very apprehensive about the place but my mind soon changed once we walked in. It had a lovely chilled feel about it. We ordered some chicken flatbread starter. Can’t remember the real name but it was delicious. For our mains I had fajitas and my partner had a steak. We were both really pleased. Mine tasted beautiful and my partners steak was cooked to perfection. The service was excellent. I would highly recommend this place. The drink selection was great along with the music playing quietly in the background. One little point I had which is minor. It would of been nice to have real grated cheese with my fajitas not the pre grated stuff. I only mention this as I’m sure I paid extra for it. However would definitely return!

The steak as always was fantastic. I was disappointed there was now garlic sauce, garlic butter or French mustard. All of the above need to be available in my opinion. The steaks also don't come with the classic onion rings or grilled tomato, but were offered as an extra .

Meals are always good, staff are amazing and attentive, would highly recommend . We come as a couple and as a family and my children always enjoy it too. Never get round to pudding as too stuffed after mains and starters x

during my experience on Saturday at Rare Dresden, I found the staff at the bar really helpful and started to chatting to a young lad, quite tall who helped us to pick an ideal Gin that fancied my taste. brilliant customer service .

First time of visiting the place and we were very impressed.The FOH Team Member was on her own and was very apologetic of our wait due to a few big tables in at the time that we arrived but the wait was worth it as the food was amazing.Even the chef helped to bring our mains out.She was also very apologetic about our wait but as we both work in the catering industry,we understand how difficult it can be sometimes.High 5 to both you ladies and we will definitely be back and thank you.

Went here the day after getting married as our first meal as man and wife. Could not fault the food or service at all. The food was really tasty and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent, even though there was only the manager and kitchen staff working. We felt considering it was only the manager serving front of house, there was very little wait for our food to come, and he was very attentive to our needs.

1st time at a Rare steakhouse. First impressions were good. However the barman was not on his game, possibly his first night on? The assistant manager was very good. The only things that let it down were the size of the side orders. The steaks were as you would expect very nicely cooked, the side orders were chips(only a few), small portion of lettuce and a tub of slaw. Better value can be found atmany of our local pubs- hungry horse or cherry tree. On the whole the steak was well cooked, but the meal was overpriced.

Visited our local Rare Steakhouse to celebrate Valentines day. We were not disappointed. Our food was cooked to perfection and the staff were polite and friendly and very helpful. We could not fault the service received and the prices are very reasonable. Would recommend to others.

Knew we would not get anyone to look after the kids on valentines so went in January instead. Lovely meal with attentive staff and my wife was over the moon when they commented on her hair. It had just cost me a small fortune after all. Not as expensive as some places and on our doorstep which is great.

We visited the restaurant midweek . On arrival the restaurant was quite busy and the waiter greeted us. He was very polite and helpful and explained to us there may be a short delay in being seated. He got us a drink and within a few minutes we were seated.

Great meal from Rare, local to us so within walking distance. Cajun Chicken with thick cut chips was delicious, so was our Waffles and Ice cream sweet. Did not disappoint and the service was excellent, will recommend to others.

on first entering the lounge bar you notice the lovely décor and we were greeted by such friendly staff. the food was delivered fast and was to a fantastic standard. i will say that one of the steaks was a little under done, but this was sorted in a very professional, kind, fast and efficient manner to our great satisfaction. the atmosphere was warm, friendly, cosy and not rushed at all, the seating was very comfy, but most importantly, the food was fantastic, hot and very, very tasty, we will certainly be going back, this is one of the best steak lounge bars we have been into to date, cant fault it, we were served by toni, who was really friendly and nothing was any trouble, but all the staff including the chef were brill.

Four of us went to Rare in Newcastle,we all had something different,from Cajun chicken to a 20oz steak and I can say in all honesty we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, everyone was cooked to perfection and I have no problems in recommending this restaurant.

Went here last week with my daughter and son in law it was absolutely great 100% better than their other one in Newcastle under Lyme (won't go there ever again) my daughter had gammon my son in law steak he's very fussy but really enjoyed it. I had the steak pie absolutely brilliant full of steak and never had such nice chops we actually ordered another portion after we had finished our meal 5☆

We come here for nice meal out and on special occasions too my husband favourite place the service is absolutely brilliant and food is amazing nice relaxing atmosphere can’t do enough for you we will be returning again back in March for Hubby’s birthday

The worst steak I have ever eaten!

First visit here for us and it was great. We had loaded potato skins for starter which were lovely. The steaks were cooked just as we’d asked and the coleslaw is gorgeous. My partner is a steak lover (mixed grill) and has it virtually every time we go out and compares place to place and said this was by far the best. His plate was massive we thoroughly enjoyed it and will return. Staff were really nice too.

my husband and i try to dine out once a month and we like to try different places this restaurant was one of the best and we will certainly be back in the future

A meal at rare never fails . Steaks are done to perfection with that flame grilled flavour . Nice selection of sides to add to your main if required

Food was ok but there are better steak restaurants around at similar prices. The sides to your steak are dull and not very tasty. It was very noticable that when customers ordered onion rings the smell of greasy onions filled the restaurant. A better extraction fan may be needed. Staff were decent and the place was very clean.

My family and I visited Rare on Thursday for my 21st birthday and we had a wonderful night there. The food and drinks were incredible. I would highly recommend the cocktails, The service was phenomenal as well, Paul continually ensured that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. It was great to go out and be served by someone that was so cheerful, chatty and helpful. We will definitely be returning here in the future.

Well worth visiting for a special occasion or on a regular basis. Well, what can I say, Rare Dresden you were one of my favourite places to eat in the sunny south of this city. However I'm afraid it is no more. I attended here with the wife on one rare work free and child free December Saturday evening, Rare was the only place that had a table for two. We were expecting a romantic cosy steak over a wine and beer, with the excellent food that Rare used to provide as such we drove from the wilds of Packmoor to the cobbled streets of Dresden. Upon arrival the premise seemed almost as cold inside as Carlisle Street was outside covered in snow and ice. We honestly expected it to be warmer inside than it was given the fact that the place was packed with Christmas parties. Whilst waiting for our table to become free myself and the wife sat in the bar area, wrapped up warm. Drinks were drank and small talk that married couples make was made. After a wait, and one couple in front of us leaving as they were so cold, we were shown to our table. Little did we realise that the couple that had left had the right idea. Now dear reader it seems suitable to comment on the staff. The waitresses seemed polite, nice and friendly. But there was only three of them to service the busy packed restaurant. This meant waiting a long time for drink refills, and even drink orders being forgotten about. But at least they were polite and nice. Onto the food; well what can be said about this. Rare used to be steak, chips and lovely cooked vine tomatoes. Now there is a salad on the side. Sorry but sometimes change is not a good thing. Seems we paid more for less. I had the chicken and steak option. It was not the lovely juicy steak that I was accustomed to. I don't believe that we will be visiting Rare again, and if the Newcastle one has changed in such a way as well then I'm afraid I will not be going there either. In summary, Cold premise, less food and waitresses rushed off their feet. I'm sorry dear reader if this review seems a bit rushed. It's a week or more after we visited, it's a sober New Years morning and I'm at the Royal Stoke hospital and all I remember is the cold busy Rare. The food fell well second to this.

Decided to try here with my fiancé as we are new to the area, we were greeted by a young girl, I think her name was Lucy?Seemed pleasant to start with.Not many other people in whilst we were there.. The Menu choices were good although very pricey. We ordered our meal hoping to enjoy. Steaks weren't the best we've had, but what let the experience down most was the waitress was too over friendly, in fact we heard her life story. Not the romantic meal we had in mind for our special evening but she even resorted to sitting in a room with us smoking whilst she's still working, disgusting!!! I’m sure a closed smoking room in a restaurant isn't even legal?? and then she went on to serve our food which totally put us off!!Unfortunately we will not be returning. our first & last visit to rare
