The Penny Coffee House in Stoke-on-Trent

Shame it was an interesting place to visit comfortable good staff good quality drinks and food choices l believe from what l was told...internal problems..a unique floor..all made from pences

Such a shame as the concept is nice, but I can’t see how this place is going to stay open. The penny flooring hasn’t lasted well and looks extremely shabby, damaged and stained. The food offering was very poor, a few basic sandwiches or toasties, and no cake available at all. When asked for wholemeal bread the reply was that they only have 50/50 bread. The assistant then told us they’d had to go to the local shop for the sandwich filler, and that the shop had no prawn mayonnaise so had to choose something else. A big disappointment compared to the reviews and newspaper article we’d read about the place, we’d have been better off at a local ‘greasy spoon ‘. Don’t bother going.

Fun as usual at the penny coffee house. I have been going since it 1st opened last year. I would highly recommend this to everyone. I am friends with Chris Merricks and his partner Ashley Parker. They can't do enough for you. I am taking my friend there for the first time tomorrow. We will be having tea for 2. Great atmosphere and staff. And great prices as well

I went in for a quiet, cool refreshing soft drink. There is a wide selection and served in a way that is designed to show the care the proprietors value the customers.

I found the seating and interior modern yet comfortable. The service is second to none, tge owners and staff friendly and welcoming. They offer a variety of drinks and cakes at a reasonable prices, the cakes served on slate.

I have been visiting this coffee shop for the last few months and the staff and the boss chris are very professional nothing is to much for them and always trying to please everyone the food is exceptionally good and it must be one of the cleanest coffee shops I have visited,this coffee shop is an absolute credit to the owners and staff that run it and I have got a soft spot for one of the staff she knows who she is well done everyone xxxx

I come here all the time. This hidden little gem, is hidden next to a barbershop and Doggie Mac on the main road through the town. I took the pictures of their Facebook page. It’s clear to see that one review on here is from the cafe round the corner. However look up there Facebook page and see what it has to offer. If you don’t have time let me tell you, It has amazing staff, that have passion and enthusiasm about there work. They deliver a high standard every time and I can hand on hart say I have never seen an unhappy customer. The food is made fresh while you site back and enjoy coffee or teas that give London coffee houses a run for there money. I highly recommend trying this place, if your a coffee lover or just a fan or a good cup of tea you will not be disappointed here. 5stars all the way.

Had a business meeting here today with one of my clients, the staff were friendly welcoming and extremely accommodating. The minute you walk in and are welcomed you feel a wave of warmth. The service impeccable. The drinks best in Longton. The cakes, we had freshly baked mince pies with baileys cream phenomenal. Also when it came to paying it felt as though we were being crooks for 4 double espresso cappuccinos, 2 panini and 2 mince pies it came to a small fee of £16.50! Spoke to the owner who’s a lovely young man, can see great things for him and his business in the future. Well done and congratulations on such an amazing attribute to Longton.

This was our first visit. The wall seating was a little weird. I am of average height and yet when seated my feet were dangling uncomfortably about a foot off the floor. I looked around and there were some elderly customers opposite, I suspect they may have employed the help of a step ladder to clamber up onto the wall seating area...really odd. That said they seemed happy enough and the drinks were decent, the prices reasonable and the staff friendly and helpful.

It was awful. The member of staff spent most of her time on her mobile. The tea was barely warm and tasted like pee. Nothing wrong with pg tips or Yorkshire tea, whatever they are trying to do here just doesn’t work. Such a shame Longton need good cafes. I would personally try the Glost house if looking for decent food and drinks in Longton.

Absolutely fabulous coffee shop. Staff are always helpful and extremely friendly.. love the coffee. Not had anything eat here but the food looks lovely. All prepared on site x

If you are looking for a great cup of coffee in comfortable and stylish surroundings this is the place to visit. Lovely freshly baked cakes and sandwiches and toasties are always on the menu and breakfast items too. Such friendly staff and the coffee shop always has a welcoming homely atmosphere where many of the customers are known by name. There is just no competition for this coffee house in the local area and I would not consider visiting any other when in the locality.

A really superb place. Warm friendly welcome, fantastic service, delicious food and fab coffee. All served in bright modern and comfortable surroundings. They have a great range of coffees and teas. Home baked cakes and lovely sandwiches and paninis. A quality coffee house at very reasonable prices. Just what Longton needs. Well worth a visit and highly recommended.
