The Mango Tree in Stoke-on-Trent

Initially I thought the prices were too high in comparison with the food but upon tasting it was absolutely clear that this food tastes worse than a 3 day old donner kebab. I find it difficult to understand how anyone who calls themselves a chef can produce such substandard food. Eat here only if you have money to burn and no taste buds. Good luck

Two of the four dishes were completely the wrong food we ordered, sent some sort of balti instead of korma and the wrong meat in one, pawns instead of chicken! Then when I tried to contact to get it fixed, they didn't answer the phone. Two people left without their dinner!

It was much improved, the chicken was fabulous, the naan bread is smaller than it used to be tho, thats a shame but overall it was lovely.

Cold, too cold to enjoy. I have not eaten. I want to complain. £16 for a cold meal. The rice is not pilau it is boiled. The curry has a “cold skin” on it. Looks cheap. Nasty. The Pakoora is nothing like I have ever seen before. It’s currently on the kitchen side, I have made my own meal. I want a refund? They can collect it back! if they want to prove I have not eaten it! Not happy at all, a cold microwave meal for £16 😡🤬

We order from Mango Tree once every couple of months for our takeaway night- it’s our fave Indian in Stoke. Last night we added a message saying it was my lockdown birthday and they sent over a free slice of cake and a bottle of coke with our order. Thanks so much! :)

The restaurant is 0.3 miles away and it took over an hour to deliver. It was cold when it arrived and a portion of chips was £2.10, we got about 15 chips....all the food was cold, except the onion chutney which was surprisingly warm!

Had the meal for 2. Decent tasting and decent portions. Sadly only had a small amount of mango chutney no mint etc... All in all not bad but nothing to write home about. I will be ordering again as it’s cheap and cheerful.

All the food was piping hot when it arrived and it was devoured at some pace! Very tasty food!

The vegetables were frozen ones and the water leaked over the plate. No fresh veg. The sauce was a nice flavour but spoilt by the veg.

It was a little earlier than expected so I was still on my way home from work. Kept it warm till I got home but it didn't detract from the gorgeous food and wouldn't stop us from ordering from them again

I had always heard good things about The Mango Tree so decided to order a treat. I was a bit shocked it arrived 20 mins after I ordered it. I would rather wait and know its been prepared. NEVER again! The only things edible were the poppadoms and the naan. The Shami kebab was dry and come without the salad. So I hoped the main of chicken biryani and the veg sauce would make up for it.....erm nope. I have never had a biryani like it! It didn't taste like one and the veg sauce honestly had the consistency of a cup of tea!!! The veg in it looked like a bag of the steam veg you buy. It was basically water swimming with oil. Nearly 15 pound for 2 poppadoms and a naan was a very expensive mistake. I won't be recommending it or using it again.

Got a pot of mango chutney with the popadoms which was a nice touch. Food was nice, fried rice tasted like boiled. Would order again.

Again yet another top quality Phall even hotter than my last Phall from here food was hot and naan was hot...great quality food all round. Definitely pick a curry from her guys n gals you wont regret it. Cheap price too

I have tried quite a few restaurants on your list but this was the best so far for Indian food. I have spoken to them on the phone with a few queries and they are most helpful and friendly.

Great food! Order slightly wrong which was disappointing ie plain chicken served not chicken tikka and plain naan not garlic

Very tasty, but far too much oil used. I had to drain loads of before I could eat it. Hopefully better next time

Food was fine. I paid extra for lamb Rogan Josh but they sent chicken. Disappointed in that but otherwise fine. We order from them alot and this was the first error really so not going to look elsewhere or anything like that.

10 minutes late, which is fine on a Saturday. Curry was lukewarm at best& really swimming in oil. Knd of disappointing considering we’re 1 mile away.

Usually get our indian take aways from here but several times now and the food has turned up cold,luke warm at best on a couple of occasions. It was also 45 minutes late. I called the resteraunt and asked where our food was and theit reply was that our order has left the resteraunt and should be with us soon, it certainly wasnt. Its a real shame as their food is really tasty but i dont think we will be ordering from them again. Not the first time this has happened.

I ordered at 7:20. The estimated delivery time was 8:20. The food arrived at 9:05. It was all cold. The delivery man said the car had broken down. The restaurant said it was due to heavy traffic and they would not offer any money back.

Good food except the popadoms tasted like they where a day old (little stale) but as they where free can’t complain

Horrible food, tasteless, not fresh, not even authentic. My curry had tinned carrots in it, tasted like it had been sitting on the side for 3 days. I cant even say in words how awfull this takeaway was. Just-eat need to REMOVE this company from their website. I just checked (should of done this before i ordered) this takeaway has a 1 star hygeine, 1 star!! and its shows in their food. DO NOT order from here, they need closing down. I actually laughed at my curry when my mrs put it on the table, could tell straight away that it was nothing but dog food, had three bites and chucked it in the bin, where it belongs.

Didn't put my order through and had to call 3 times over 2 hours to find that out, after being lied to that it was "on the way" twice! AND they gave me the wrong food anyway which was really oily!

I’ve visited a lot of curry places round stoke on trent and this one has slipped under the radar for quite some time. When we arrived we met up with friends already in, good job really as there wasnt anyone to greet us or show us where to go. No mither. Food was OK, different selection of curries to get the taste buds going. A little disappointed with selection of deserts and drinks. Price seamed a little over board for what you get but wasn’t too bothered. Staff were friendly but weren’t too bothered about clearing plates etc. Had the s**ts in the night though, so probably won’t return.

Food was very late and cold when arrived. Not happy after waiting over hr and half for food.

I went there once again and was given the best food ever.The staff are really friendly especially the waitress,she really took care of me.

Unfortunately first time ordering. Curry was stone cold as were the onion bhajis. After heating it up in the microwave, food was delicious. It came early, so not sure why it was all cold. Wouldn't order again personally, but as said, food was tasty after reheating but really shouldn't have to do that.

We Visited at the weekend, and was greeted by a fella with a bad attitude. We went too get some food from the buffet and every tray had a hard crust around the edge and looked as if it was yesterdays food reheated, we gave it the benefit of the doubt and sat down too realise the food we chose was cold. I then told the same fella with the bad attitude that it was cold he said if we didn't like it then leave. So we left after being refused a refund, this place was the worse place I've ever eat at. Disgusting

Delicious tikka masala! I’ve ordered from 5 different Indian takeaways this year and all have given barely any chicken... won’t be ordering from those again. Mango Tree fast delivery (one hour delivery time but came in half an hour) and a good amount for the price. No one likes to be ripped off so I will be ordering from here again!

Can't thank mango tree enough for our experience with them, we ordered off mango tree and the system jumped so we rang mango tree too discuss our problem and from the gesture of good will they kindly gave us our right order, highly recommended and there curries are amazing!!

Food was nice and tasty, only down point is it only warm and the sauce is far to runny, I nearly needed a bowl for the takeaway.

A bit spicy but over all the mixed grill was great . Veg was a bit cold but everything else was good

Couldn’t find my address so instead of calling my phone I guess they walked around neighbourhood with my food so when they found me it was stone cold and I had to microwave it! Not amused

If I ever claimed my food to be 'exquisite' on a sign for all to see I would be embarrassed to even be seen in my own establishment when serving rubbish like they did. Everything was tasteless, what wasn’t cooked from frozen is reheated to be used from the previous nights that customers dared to step foot in the building. Never would I have expected anyone to be charging almost £12 for rubbish like this, maybe at half the price you know what you’re getting yourselves into and don’t expect quality but this was disappointing overall. If you’re very good at origami, I recommend trying to create something using their poppadum’s as they’re quite foldable. The general restaurant area is nice and large to fit many couples or groups of people at a time and shouldn’t become too cramped; on the other hand, it was mouldy around with spit and snot stains on the walls. The staff, albeit relatively pleasant, were not the most capable of servers and spent most of their time sat around their own table in the distance eating and chatting between themselves, occasionally coming over to ask if we required any more drinks. Upon our group exiting one of us required a very important toilet break (probably to avoid any future stomach trouble) and the staff were heard laughing and joking about how they overcharged us because we were a large group. If I could see inside the kitchen, I’m sure I would be horrified by what I saw but considering this place had a food hygiene rating of 1 in March 2019, I’d expect this place to be shut down soon enough.

Poor food quality unfortunately, soggy Bhajis and chips, Tikka Massala was way too sweet even for a Massala and Balti was very watery. I’d left a note for the restaurant to knock quietly, which was interpreted as slamming the letterbox 3 times as hard as possible.

Went here for a family meal. It is a buffet house so one should treat your expectations accordingly. That said for a buffet type restaurant it was very good. Whilst there were only a few dishes in each section to choose from ( starters,etc), the food was hot and definitely worth a few visits to the buffet bar. The staff were young but very pleasant and attentive. It was a family run place and is well worth a visit. The prices are also good especially on the drinks side that can often sting you. A bottle of house white wine was none other than a Hardys Pinot Grigio was only £11.95 good price for a restaurant and a good wine. Had two very young children with us and they couldnt have helped enough. Will go again

Food quality was good however we ordered for a specific time and it arrived 30 minutes early. Decent portion size which made up for my chips not turning up. Unlikely to order from here again if the restaurant can’t honour a requested delivery time or full order.

I went there with family last week and once again the food was amazing and the staff were very polite to us.Will hopefully be returning again soon.

We visited this restaurant on a mini break away, I found the food very nice, full of flavour, nice variety, polite pleasant staff with a nice atmosphere. The only thing I found was the popadom were chewy rather than crispy but this is nothing major. Over all I would recommend and would visit again

My only gripe is that the food was cold when it arrived, which it unfortunate because it tasted really nice. Will order again from here though in future and hope that we are closer to their first drop off.

Food was half hour late and when it got here it was cold. The food quality was like it had been frozen and then just heated up for us to eat. Chips and poppadoms were soggy. Samosas I don’t even think we’re cooked by the look of them. Would defo not recommend to anyone

App said food was enroute after half an hour of waiting I rang the restaurant and they said apparently the app was not working and he hadn’t had the order even though he said he thought it had been delivered and could see I had paid I was not given an apology and told I need to complain to just eat myself. Food eventually arrived after another half an hour I won’t be reordering from here again.

absolutely disgusting food, not much choice at all! staff just constantly watch you eat, don’t come over and check that your foods ok, nothing for kids what so ever.. will not be returning.

loved the chips rice and naan, all hot when arrived and delivered 20 minutes early winner! the only downside was we ordered x2 chicken tikka masalas and they tasted nothing like a masala and more like a korma and far too sweet. Final point having spent £25.00 I thought you may of at least chucked in some free poppadoms or something.

Very enjoyable food, although the Pasanda was very much like a Korma. Vegetable pilao rice is highly recommended.
