Not very good at all. Very expensive , which is okay if the food and the service are good. Both were pretty woeful. fish & Chips that doesn't come with chips you have to buy the chips separately so essentially £15 for a small piece of very average battered fish or £20 if you want some chips with your fish and chips? Seems like a con really. Mushy peas and tartare were left off, when we asked we got some dried up once frozen peas but mushy peas as stated and that go so well with fish & chips. Two incredibly over priced burgers, again no chips no sides you would expect with a burger, all had to be purchased at an additional cost. Crazy prices for the food being served. The burgers weren't at all what was stated on the menu, no sauce or pickles just a bit of burger in a bun (one burger was very burnt) Really not great. My husbands and my sons meal came out I was told the chef had forgotten mine. My food arrived once everyone else had finished eating which is rubbish when you are paying a lot of money to eat out together. Mistakes happen, that's okay. It's how places deal with it. Not once did the manger or a senior member of staff come and apologise or offer some sort of discount, complimentary puddings maybe? A young waiter, very sweet lad was sent over to say sorry there had been a mistake in the kitchen. I think if the customer service had of been okay it could be forgiven. Very average over priced food and a terrible customer experience. Really wouldn't recommend eating here.

First time going - we had come for a family neal but as soon as we walked in there wasn't much of a family restaurant atmosphere... it's very much a "pub pub" if that makes sense. Our children were the only children there and it was mostly men drinking and watching football on tv. We sat down, but then moved tables as a group of men sat next to us in order to watch football on the tv near (there are tv's everwhere!) They were so loud we couldn't hear each other talking at the table. I think when sports are playing, it would be nice to keep this to one area of the pub, not the entire pub, as it can really put families with children off, or those who aren't interested in sports. Food was average, not a lot to say other than that. We ordered two burger meals, lasagne and a kids chicken chunks meal. All got eaten. Prices were okay, cost just under £60 for 4 of us to have a meal and drink each. I felt this was a tad expensive when compared with similar places, but not hugely. Might be nice to have some offers going for food. The menus themselves could do with some updating, as they were just laminated sheets of paper. Toilets were clean and staff polite. We probably won't return as a family, but if you like sports or are out drinking with other adults, it's probably a decent place.

Started working locally to kaz’s filling station after working and getting all my food in Stratford. Every visit is a pleasure and food exceeds expectations every time. Highly recommend for breakfast or lunch!

My friend and I went for a last lunch here today as The Forest has been sold and closes tomorrow. It will be much missed as it’s always had wonderful food, atmosphere and very friendly and professional staff. Hopefully the new owners can match the current standards. It’s main problem is that it’s position on the high street means that it has difficulty picking up passing trade as it’s easy to drive past while looking for the entrance and it’s a fair way before you can turn round! So, good luck with trying to solve that puzzle. So, we’re going to try the sister restaurant, The Chequers at Crowle...
