Love this place. Great coffee and cake. Just the job half way round a 50 mile bike ride!!

6 of us went for Mothers Day and chose from their set menu for the day. The prices were more reasonable compared to other local pubs offering set menus for the day. We haven’t been since new management took over so we visited with a little trepidation. We needn’t have worried. We all chose one of the roast options and the food was hot, delicious and plentiful. The service was exemplary very quick and helpful. Very cheerful and friendly waitresses. We will be back for another visit

Absolute joke of a place. Tried ringing previously to be told no tables. Visited in person after the main lunch rush, got ignored for 5 mins, several empty tables, people finished were leaving, to be told they wouldnt fit me in for nearly 4hours! Then they turned their back on me and ignored me again. How rude. Suffice to say i will never bother trying to go here again. Clearly not part of a clique or they are incredibly inefficient. And in reply to the owner i did try online booking but the website is rubbish it gives times that had passed, times greyed out for full then no option at all either way after 2.30 until 7.30. Regardless of what you say to be told its full, you'll have to sit outside then have 2 staff immediately turn round with their back to you is rude. They didnt even look back afain we stood there a couple mins after this even. Meanwhile someone thanked you for 'squeezing them in' as they left, clearly a regular who hadnt booked and there were lots of empty spaces. Just inefficient way of running. I have no intention of ever trying again.

My friend and I meet up at the Bramley Cottage regularly and always receive a warm welcome from the staff. Special mention to Sharmaine who is always so friendly and and helpful. Dan took our food order and served our drinks. We both had the posh fish and chips which we both enjoyed. Please ask Ember inns to bring back the grilled seabass served with a bearnaise sauce as this was my favourite dish.

They need to work on their welcome. Being stood at the bar, waiting to be acknowledged for our restaurant booking, with several servers coming-and-going at the bar and till - and ignoring us - is not nice. It simply needs a “hello, someone will be with you shortly”. The food was mostly nice, albeit we didn’t think the starters were particularly good value. The chicken supreme wasn’t creamy, like it traditionally is but still enjoyable. I’m being polite here; that was simply not chicken supreme: I like the idea of them changing their menu (assuming they do this), but having something online - either their website or social media - that gives more clues than a “sample menu” would be nice. Would only take two minutes to load the days printed menu online. Service at the table needs a few refining points - there appeared a pie on the menu, what was this today? We had to ask for wine lists. It’s not the cheapest place to eat, felt like we were doing more than our fair share of the work. We’ve left very similar feedback before - service here is not what it should be.

Started working locally to kaz’s filling station after working and getting all my food in Stratford. Every visit is a pleasure and food exceeds expectations every time. Highly recommend for breakfast or lunch!

My friend and I went for a last lunch here today as The Forest has been sold and closes tomorrow. It will be much missed as it’s always had wonderful food, atmosphere and very friendly and professional staff. Hopefully the new owners can match the current standards. It’s main problem is that it’s position on the high street means that it has difficulty picking up passing trade as it’s easy to drive past while looking for the entrance and it’s a fair way before you can turn round! So, good luck with trying to solve that puzzle. So, we’re going to try the sister restaurant, The Chequers at Crowle...
