Golden Carp Chippy in Redditch

Not happy just phoned the chippy to complain. The chicken and regular chips were missing so I had an upset child

I’m sad to leave this review as , I order often from here . When I ordered the app said 20-30 minutes , the time kept moving out and was eventually delivered 1hr 20 minutes from order. The mushy peas were missing and the food was barely warm. Not great when you spend £60

superfast delivery of a quality meal ty again

For £11.60 you don’t get a lot of donner neither chips taste is good but definitely not a large

portion was small, rectory road chippy is superior

chips cold and very anemic, pies cold. when ordered had notification to say 5.35 then the times had changed to 6.20.

meal came 2 hours after ordering due to no drivers.They should put a freeze on ordering if they lack drivers instead of making families wait two hours

Best fish and chips I’ve ever had from anywhere, tried so many places and never enjoy it as much as I do from here !

Very disappointed. I buy fish and chips regularly here and always excellent quality. However this is the first time I've had a delivery. Apart from the much higher prices the food was almost cold. The salad was missing from the kebab. The batter on the fish was hard and almost inedible. A shame as I've always recommended the GoldenCarp.

Went in to grab some lunch today. The staff were so friendly and funny, had a little conversation. And were given some free samples and they tasted amazing! And the food we ordered was so tasty. Thank you☺️

Excellent food still warm when delivered excellent delivery

Says delivered, tracking shows driver never got out of his car. Just Eat tell me he delivered to "Lobby Reception", we don’t have one. FYI I live on the ground floor. If I could leave a negative star review I would as Just Eat are not helping at all, last time I use this service

Half my order was incorrect so little disappointing. Chippy was closed by the time I had my order so I couldent get it rectified.

Food is so bad, cold and small portions

order totally wrong and when I phone to discuss it, they hung up on me. tried calling them back a few times but the wouldn't answer the phone

We had a mix up with the app , but in the end we actually had a delivery, the chips were lovely ,so was the cod & scampi,the delivery driver was not the friendliest but perfection is very rare lol

Ordered the cod and didnt get it, tinned roe was poorly seasoned, mushy and was an oily mess and the chips were mushy

South Londoner who’s not long moved to Redditch. Exceptional food, I’ve been to this establishment three times and the food is second to none, staff are professional and friendly and considering the quality and quantity of the food it’s ridiculously well priced! Absolute hidden gem and would definitely recommend to anyone passing through the area.

The kebab meat was cold chips were under cooked and still hard

Unfortunately the chips didn’t taste fresh they had an odd metallic taste. I was hoping fresh crunchy chips :(

Went for lunch today after picking my son up from nursery. Food & service is lovely Can't give 5 stars as the card machine is never working there is a cash machine near the shop but if u have to watch what u spend rather than just ordering and paying by card.

Ordered from here a few times now. Always great delivery time, yummy food and you can collect stamps from them so 10 out of 10!

Had several orders & always been good, but last order was not good, fish was not good tasted strange, chips under cooked & curry sauce has changed & not nice, kebab meat was good.

Paid £31 for food that were the tiniest portions. It tastes good but will not be buying from here again given the sizes and the expense of it.

An absolute delight, and really pleased it was early as I struggled with the Internet and was late placing the order. The food was exceptional.

Smallest portions ever disgusting for price

Food was nice but the portion sizes for the price I think is really excessive , the portions were small for £30 worth of two meals and a portion of chips

Food was really tasty - chips were great and couldn't fault the food we got at all. Nice to see everything wrapped in chip paper and then covered in foil to keep it hot in transit as well. My only negative was they forgot the pot of curry sauce and there was no salad on the kebab despite both being listed on the receipt. But it was a Saturday night and I'm sure they were busy! Least it wasn't one of the main meals - and the food was so nice it's easy to not worry about the missing items.

The option for sauce not on the app, but instructions to the restaurant was to add! Still not added!

Food was good and delivery was super quick the portions were terrible. Ordered large code and chips and large chicken meat and chips. We've had bigger small portions than what we received! A lot of money for not a lot of food

Usually order from here but unfortunately we won't be again. The mini fish was over cooked with hardly any fish inside & what was in there was dry & the portion of chips were extremely small! I was very disappointed.

Food was lukewarm. Unusual I know but it's the 2nd time now.

Pretty awful. The card machine never works. Anything off the donner rack? Forget it. It's never on midweek. Chips? Only if you like inconsistency. Maybe one or two half decent chips out of the whole under cooked mess. Staff? Children! Without an adult in the building and chit chatting with their friends and won't give you a nod of acknowledgement unless you're literally right on top of them. It's a doss hole at best. I mean, how difficult is it? It's fried food? Total waste of space place. Pretty depressing when all said and done.

The fish and chip meals were OK,but both chicken meals were small with the 2nd drumstick so small,having maybe 2 chicken nuggets wroth of chicken on it.the curry sauce also was very small amount despite paying xtra for it in a pot.many of the chips were over cooked, to be inedible.

First time I'm new to the area. best fish and chips I've ever had, the girl was so friendly I didn't get her name. I visited Tuesday 16th January 2024, so friendly definitely be back. See you Friday x

Loved the fish and chips but didn’t receive the spicy spuds i ordered which is disappointing as it’s my first order from Golden Carp

we had fish and chips with our order and was very disappointed it was packed in a small box so when it arrived the fish was broken up and the fish was soggy from the steam in the plastic bag it turned up in !! to make it worse the bag was tied up so no crispy chips. This is the 1st time it's happened, phoned the chippy to be told we'll we ran out of fish and chip box's at £15 it's a lot of money for soggy fish and chips so will not be ordering that again

Had the £6.50 fish. Unfortunately it was all batter and very little fish.

The chips where that are usually pretty good from here were really dry, and did not have any salt and vinegar on as requested. And were pretty, not that warm. The fish was OK, but most of the batter had stuck to the paper. This meal really didn't travel well.

I think that the food was prepared straight away and then left waiting for a courier. Food was inedible and ended up in the bin as nothing worse than cold fish and chips supper

Order was 2 hours late. I called up asked for a update the lady didn’t want to help me she just said call just eat they need to sort it out it’s not us. When I eventually got my order it was freezing so it went straight in the bin. Wouldn’t order from there again was vile.

Order was over an hour late (I understand it’s Friday night ) Food was not at its best. Chips were squashed and quality was was poor (like chips were the scrapings left over) . Shame.

Fantastic service and quality. Fast delivery. I have been to the shop in the past and all staff are polite and friendly and the level of hygiene is excellent. Will definitely be shopping here again.

Fish was soggy and not very warm. Was also very small for the price of a large cod. Chips were good.

Originally it was to be here by 5.45 at the latest. Times kept being changed. When it eventually arrived it was cold. It all had to be reheated in the oven. Worst delivery service ever!!!!! Don't bother ordering on a Friday.
