The Bramley Cottage in Redditch

My friend and I meet up at the Bramley Cottage regularly and always receive a warm welcome from the staff. Special mention to Sharmaine who is always so friendly and and helpful. Dan took our food order and served our drinks. We both had the posh fish and chips which we both enjoyed. Please ask Ember inns to bring back the grilled seabass served with a bearnaise sauce as this was my favourite dish.

Always a lovely experience here. The food and atmosphere make for a friendly and inviting place.

Really improved since our last visit. Service was professional and friendly. Menu was varied and reasonably priced. The food was cooked to a high standard.

Nice cosy pub a good local, serves good food and has an excellent range of beers and wines. It is an Ember Inn and often has offers on for food deals.

Great local with reasonable prices for food and drinks. Cam is always cheerful and checking everything is ok. Nice new menu with something for everyone. Ambient lighting and good background music.

Very welcoming experience, from bar staff and especially Cameron. He found us a table, helped us make our selection off the menu, understood our needs and went above and beyond to accommodate us, with attention to detail. An absolute credit to himself and the team. Met up with friends, choose beef open sandwich option, very tasty although busy service was excellent

The food was served cold, the burger was burned and the cheese was not even melted in the burger .

We have been regular visitors for years and the experience has usually been reasonably good but our last 2 meals have been awful. Long wait yesterday for a Sunday lunch and the food was poor, rotten and inedible greens and a tiny spoonful of red cabbage. Last meal was fish and chips which was also poor with an insulting tea spoon of mushy peas. The pub is looking increasingly shabby now and looks as though it needs a refurbishment/repainting

Absolutely gorgeous place to each. The food was delicious, the prices very reasonable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Charmaine especially, shone like a star in top rated service.

Met up with friends for a meal and a catch up. We have taken up the 50% meal deal the last 3 weeks now. Had the opportunity to try new dishes from the menu. We have all enjoyed them. They were well cooked and nice and hot, bit of a wait but worth it. The staff were pleasant at the bar and servers smiley. Thank you Bramley Cottage you will be sure to see us again soon. Please read whole review Very,very poor, meal (First post few months ago) Been going many years off and on. Will wait till thing's improve till we go again. Staff good. Paid Bramely a visit for tea last night , wanted to see if food had improved,did a starter soup and main gammon,wife steak,improved on last time meals all ok. Staff were very good. Up to a four star now from one previously. Only comment had a receipt and noticed vat on beer. Told draught ales had vat,cask not. So a £4.55 pint had 20% vat added on top. First time I've seen that. 18/01/23 Thing's really improved, lovely, quality two course lunch and beautiful ales , definitely going back. Will book to get a table we like, although luckily not to busy when we went and staff brilliant. March Very disappointed,meal lovely, service staff excellent,but that's where it stops. The Bramely cottage now seems inundated with dogs,dogs not a problem if they have a designated area to go. Unfortunately since our last visit they seem to be allowed anywhere in the resteraunt. One dog sat behind us on the floor then barked when owner went to bar to get another drink. Another owner allowed the dog to sit on a cushion on the sofa and then walk all over the table. Barked fairly continuously. This we reported to the bar staff. A new family arrived and sat at the table as previous occupants left. A lady then sat at another table lifted dog onto chair by her,the dog then put it's paws on table, when food arrived nothing was said and she fed dog from her plate with scraps. Sorry hygiene at the Bramely is definitely questionable. A complaint has been forwarded . November Visited tonight for evening meal, mixed grill spot on selection of guest ales well kept, one meal very poor sirloin mostly fat. Had to revisit bill as our tab had drinks from another table? Would visit again. But expect better. 17/01/25 Just been tonight to Bramley cottage, Excellent,excellent, excellent! Food management and service and one of the best pints of plumb porter ever, it's how you put it in the glass! It's not very often a person serving stands out but Ember inns should be aware you have a gold star employee, professional, organised and compassionate about his job. Cameron 11/10. Yes standards have improved dra matically. Going again. 23/01/25 Perfect, perfect, perfect. Gammon cracking, everything was hot and spot on. The steak and ale pie I was told was yummy. This is definitely the place to go for a respected cask ale and good quality "hot" food. We used to go there monthly a while back, now weekly. Brilliant management.

Normally the food is fairly good but on this visit it wasn't. I had steak and chips amd my partner had the mixed grill. Unfortunately all the meat on our plates was way too charred and that's all you could taste,even with the sauces we had. The steak would have been perfect if not for this and it was the same for my partner's meal. The sausages were mostly black on the outside. We ended up bringing most of the meat home for our dog. Very disappointing considering the only things that weren't burnt in any way was the chips.

Great place to go with the family. Had a big table booked for my nephews birthday and the staff accommodated us brilliantly. The only downside was the toilets, a little run down. However, the food was spot on so no complaints from me and should think we'll be returning if the occasion arrises.

Just been in to order food but was about to order drinks. Moody asst manager...customer service shocking. Can't be arsed to answer phone calls. So went to next pub Rose and Crown. Sizzler....super service..friendly staff...food great. Reasonable prices....Put the Bramley to shame....won't be going there again.

Wasn't shown to table after other diners had been seated had to look for staff to show me table prior to party arriving which was in the bar and not in the dining area. The table given had a broken centre table so had to move to next table that was not laid up so we had to help staff move cutlery. All food came out late, main meal was not as hot as should've been and had to get staff to remove plates after every meal. Not satisfied .

Had the most wonderful Christmas meal here! Food was amazing, staff were fantastic and the atmosphere was lovely. Have had Christmas dinner at a previous Ember Inns in Solihull, but this was by far 100% better! Well done to everyone for making our Christmas Day one to remember!! Xx

Christmas work meal 2024. Table service , ordered online (grumble but okay) Starter stars were sticky Salt& Pepper chicken. .and Lamb koftas. Delivered quickly and devoured. And 3 Ultimate burgers while I had the steak and Guinness pie (yum) Didn't come with mash but when asked waitress supplied quickly. (Gravy could have been a bit thicker). Mac'n'cheese side (*!)Good mix of drinks , I had HPA (Hereford Pale Ale) and wished wasn't driving. Come again

First Christmas meal of the season and it’s the best I’ve had for years! Honestly overwhelmed with the food and the service we had from Kameron was outstanding he helped with photos and drinks and so friendly made the night! Definitely recommend

Slow service, when the food arrived, Luke warm gammon very thin and tough. Rest of the meal seemed as though had been prepared and then left under the warm service lights.. not great, not in a rush to go back.

The menu at the bramley is a must, this time round i had the fish and chips which was cooked perfectly! The one thing that made it better was the service! Sharmaine went above and beyond exceeding our expectations. A true credit to the business

We came today to celebrate a family member birthday. Waiter Can was serving us , and he was very attentive, lovely person . Went out of his way to help us with everything. And the food was excellent! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bramley Cottage, and I can't recommend it enough! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing meal. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional service from Sharmaine. She was an absolute gem—attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Her warm personality and genuine care made the experience even more special. The food was delicious, but Sharmaine’s brilliant service is what will keep us coming back. A five-star experience from start to finish!

Our regular pub, often come during the week. Food comes quickly and staff are friendly, sharmaine was our waitress last 2 visits and she is great

The food is tasty with good portions, and beautifully presented. We were looked after today by Sharmaine who could not have done more to make our visit so pleasant, she went above and beyond to look after us. The pub was lovely and clean too, as were the toilets. 10/10 for service today, we will definitely be returning.

Had a lovely sunday lunch at the Bramley cottage today. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great and the toilets were spotless. Staff were very friendly. One member of staff called Sharmaine was extremely helpful, very friendly, polite and very efficient, nothing was too much trouble for her. Would highly recommend this establishment.
