The Bramley Cottage in Redditch

Went for a dinner today with my wife. As we always enjoy the food and the ambiance of the place and Sharmaine did an amazing service. Food is great!

Had a lovely sunday lunch at the Bramley cottage today. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great and the toilets were spotless. Staff were very friendly. One member of staff called Sharmaine was extremely helpful, very friendly, polite and very efficient, nothing was too much trouble for her. Would highly recommend this establishment.

Kam was amazing today- high energy, lovely personality and made us feel so welcome. His service was impeccable and he was so personal-able and lovely.

We have been going every Wednesday evening for about two years. The reason is Andrew’s fabulous quiz! Andrew is a consummate host, very engaging & sharp-witted. The quiz is well thought out with a mixture of questions & a picture round. Prizes for the top three winning teams & sweeties for the team coming in last….. Just don’t CLICK your pens! 😜 Bar staff & food servers give friendly & attentive service, which round off a perfect evening.

We look forward to our Wednesday evenings at The Bramley! We are a party of 6 who attend every week for the quiz, hosted by Andrew. We have been coming now for some 6 years. Andrew is a fabulous host & he makes the quiz fun, engaging & amusing. He obviously puts a tremendous amount of effort in to every quiz. We also have a meal before the quiz. Normally a good selection of food available and the bar staff are always helpful & friendly.

I really enjoy the quiz on a Wednesday evening, its great fun. Andrew who runs the quiz is such a friendly guy who makes everyone feel welcome. If you fancy a fun evening out I highly recommend it.

We are here every Wednesday evening to catch up with family members but mainly for Andrew’s fabulous quiz! We’ve been coming for over a year now and have a great evening. Andrew is engaging, funny and puts everyone so at ease with his witty banter and comments and the quiz itself is great and Andrew obviously puts a great deal of effort into it. We also often eat here and the food is good plus the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

Lovely atmosphere friendly but VERY cold. Many customers complained particularly those eating with many leaving their coats on. Chloe is bright bubbly and provides great customer service with a lovely genuine smile

Everything was spot on, the guy who was manning the bar greeted us on arrival, explained where our table was we were served in a professional manner. The young lady who brought our meals to the table was very polite and couldn't fault her one bit. The food was very good ample portions and we struggled to finish all 3 courses, we will defiantly come again in the future this was our first visit to The Bramley Cottage and was certainly not our last thank you

Manager called 'Joshua' is one of the rudest members of staff I've come across. No customer service skills and so unhelpful. When you talk to him it's like he doesn't want to be there and can't be bothered to help. This hasn't happened on one occasion but multiple times. Please can management address this issue as it just puts your locals off visiting.

It was really easy to book a table online, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the food we ordered was very tasty and hot. The delicious deserts for afters were also great and it was all very nicely affordable, there was a lovely friendly atmosphere too, well done Bromley cottage staff, we will definitely see you again soon.

Nice cosy pub a good local, serves good food and has an excellent range of beers and wines. It is an Ember Inn and often has offers on for food deals.

Lovely evening spent with a friend and her dog. Staff were friendly and even gave the dog a bowl of water, and were happy to change our reserved table to one where we had more space.

Busy pub which makes for a great atmosphere. Didn't Pete but the food brought out looked excellent. Let down by staff.Queue at the bar and staff disappeared.Had to be asked to come as Server Absolutely appalling customer service.

Visited here on Sunday and it was always a lovely pub with amazing food , ohh how things have changed ! I was surprised we managed to get a table at such short notice so that should have been the first red flag . As you approach the entrance , red flag no2 empty uninviting ‘sheds’ with table and fixed benches inside … yuk ! You are greeted by younger people vaping and smoking outside the entrance , at this point I thought what’s happened here …. Must be new management . We went in were led to our table , then discovered you ordered food on an app !! My partner had the alleged ‘Roast ‘ I was lucky I had the salad and mine was ok . I ordered a cocktail, pineapple and coconut spiced rum with orange and sliced fig … something like that ….. wasn’t a cocktail by any means , disappointed!! The Roast …. Well there was a lump of fat in place of the beef shin !! Deep fried potatoes , not a roast veg in sight !! This has to be the WORSE place I have ever visited , it was shocking !! We just sat and looked at it as we were listening to for words , no staff came over to ask if everything was ok . The menu is misleading and food and drink are NOT as described . Do not go here for food , you’re wasting your money , you’re better off going to the Barley Mow in studley instead !!

Booked a table for two for Sunday lunch in the evening with my partner my partner plant for the chicken and avocado salad and I went for the traditional Sunday roast of beef. Wow if there was an award for the worst Sunday lunch they would win roast dinner I can assure you there was nothing roast on that plate, I would love to for somebody to prove me wrong, but I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t. If I looked in the kitchen. It was all cooked in the microwave in a bag. I would love to go in the kitchen and see what they used to roast things with because I don’t believe there was anything on the plate that was actually roasted. The potatoes were fried in a deep fat fryer clearly, the vegetable root vegetables, diced into little cubes looked like Swede and carrot, but it was diced that small. I couldn’t work it out the steamed greens undercooked and underwhelming for £14.99 . Wow let me tell you the barley mow a To bit further down the road is far better value, and at least the potatoes are roasted along with the meat, I certainly wouldn’t waste any of my money here !! to be quite honest don’t be fooled by the word roast. There was nothing roast about this dinner. In fact I could’ve got a better meal deal at Tesco’s. And less than half of the price this place is an absolute joke.

Would like to commend Andy for the Wednesday evening quiz, a fun night with varied and interesting questions, which is only to be expected from our local celebrity who has been on many TV quiz shows. Andy, a genial host, certainly knows how to put a quiz together and it's midweek mayhem, not to be missed.

Been here twice now for an evening meal and breakfast .Really nice food and reasonably priced ,bonus to find out dog friendly in the whole pub as we had our dog Bert with us

The pub is a chain type, Ember Inns. Busy, good value, food was good.

Myself and my partner visited here last Thursday and it was absolutely amazing the food was very tasty great service especially by vicky and a good atmosphere. Would recommend visiting here 100%

Went last Thursday it was outstanding, the pie was cooked brilliantly. Special mention to vicky who was fabulous.

My friend & I meet for lunch at the Bramley 4 to 5 times a year & always have our favourite ‘hunters chicken’ as the Bramley do a lovely one, but we didn’t know theyd changed the menu so it was a shock to see it changed to breaded chicken with no mushroom tomato onion ring or peas. Also, the chunky chips had gone & changed to fries New menu served with salad only. We didn’t recognise this meal, What a disappointment, not very nice, & kindly given a free dessert but this too wasn’t very nice both our sponges were extremely dry. Service great, friendly staff environment lovely.

Not the best! The table for 4 was booked for my mother’s birthday. I came from Shropshire, my sister from Newcastle upon Tyne and my folks live in Redditch. I had gammon, mother had chicken tikka, dad had hunters chicken and sister had haddock. Out of the 4 meals the haddock was the only hot meal. The rest were lukewarm. My dad’s chicken was overcooked and therefore tough. We ate it because we were hungry! If the staff had bothered to come and ask if everything was okay we would have told them ‘no’. It wasn’t busy. I think we will be looking to eat elsewhere when we meet up again, which is a shame because the Bramley Cottage was one of the better places to eat in Redditch.

Can get a bit quiet sometimes which unfortunately for them is a sign of the times. Food and service are great.

Really nice pub, well decorated and clean. Good free car parking. Well stocked bar, the food is a typical pub menu but was well cooked and presented. 4 adults had a main meal and drinks £70, my wife had the sea bass, which she enjoyed

Great place to meet with friends and family. Staff are happy and friendly. Menu is varied and the summer menu is light and refreshing. Reasonably priced with the added bonus of an app for points and rewards.

I have visited the bramley cottage many times and have always enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and all the staff are wonderful. A young lady called Carly has served my family and I on many occasions, she is very popular with all members of staff and the customers, she is very sociable and bubbly and nothing is ever any trouble. Carly is an absolute credit to the Bramley cottage and I know many people who have exactly the same opinion, keep being the bubbly, kind, caring young lady you are Carly. Xxxx

At a past visit a few weeks ago I was served at the bar by a bald male staff member and was overcharged for a double vodka and Pepsi and had to then ask another staff member to correct this issue. Today I was served by the same staff member as I ordered food at the bar, I tried to order a dessert and he put the wrong one through even though I was asked to repeat which dessert I wanted. This was then solved by another staff member. The rest of the staff are lovely and make the whole experience alot nicer. Plus quiz night with Andrew is great.

Stopped off by chance with a friend for a quick drink and all the staff were really friendly with definitely be back to hopefully try the food

Staff were great but food was not. Undercooked veg, frozen roast potatoes and apparently boil in the bag beef. Overall not great. Certainly not as good as you do at home. Typical chain, no cookery discernable.

Only popped in for a quick drink on a hot sunny afternoon, nice atmosphere, good selection of food but, like all pubs just lately price of a pubs I have recently visited have a calculator fault I think the + button is stuck.

Lovely, polite waitress. Food awful… over cooked steak, very dry and unable to eat. Beef dripping gravy had no taste. Did complain but fell on deaf ears. Unfortunately, couldn’t recommend eating there and certainly will not be returning for food. Shame as always loved the beef dripping.

Food was cheep but tasteless some wood say you get what you pay for but the night before we went to the nevillarms it was £8 more and the whole experience was fantastic so I am sorry I woint be coming back

Perfect for all occasions. Best to order off the set menus as you get the best value for money that way and tend to be the better dishes. I partook in the quiz night of Sunday which was fantastic! Great place.

Food was very underwhelming. No care taken over any presentation, no garnish. Staff served people they knew at the bar over the people who were next waiting. Several items we ordered were unavailable. And why is there no vegetarian option for the older kids meal? My 12 year old daughter was reduced to eating a ridiculously small pizza. Staff too busy chatting to friends to clear tables which were then filthy and covered in plates when the next guests arrived. Very poor.

Brilliant in all aspects Food service and atmosphere the total staff have It cracked wonderful establishment the perfect place to enjoy food and good company .

Good service, clean. The limited vegan options are not the greatest. The avocado on toast is two pieces of cheap bread and very little avocado. The vegan skewers were nice but small portion.

Had 2 steaks had to send both back as was tough and horrible, got a refund with no questions. Felt rushed during the stay, when we wanted the waitress had to go looking.

Booked a table for 4 people for 7pm and arrived then. Very cold inside with several diners wearing coats. Ordered by 7:15 but food did not arrive until after 8:00 nearly an hour later. Even then, the meals were not served together, with nearly ten minutes from first to last. Food very good as usual and server apologetic. Pub was not very busy.

Was a nice experience all together with good and bad moments the bad were I saw a dog pee up a post inside the building, when we went we were told there was only one vegetarian option despite multiple being listed on the menu. However the food was good quality and I think fairly good value for money.

Best thing I can say, the Turkey was excellent. Booked Sunday lunch, no Beef no Chicken ???? £7 for pud?? Not happy. Asked to sit in the restaurant area, at the back, but put by the main door. Told fully booked, but remained empty when we left a hour later?? Overall, not good, and of course we won't be back. With so much competition around the desire to return is surely very important. Good place for a pint tho in the summer.

We came to meet up with friends. The place was full and somehow split between a bar and dancing area and a dining area. However the music was so loud that on the dining side you could barely hear the People sitting with you at the table. I ordered a couple of starters via the website and they were ok. It is a good place to come for drinks and the usual pub food but be ready for a noisy environment.

Starters took ages to come and when they did they were stone cold did get this refunded but then the steak was more fat than steak and the service was shocking if not rude! So won’t be eating there again!

Met up with the family for a festive meal as we can't see each other at Xmas. The table wasn't laid for festive meal so had to wait while they did it. Food was good and we had a lovely time. Only one gripe, we didn't get a cracker! We have previously had festive meals at Marstons' pubs and always get a cracker. One year we got given souvenir Polaroid photos in a Christmas's frame! Nice touches.

We had to wait an hour for our food qnd when it did arrive it was medioca at best, burger was over cooked and dry and was 12 chips on the plate ,chicken was ment to have Chipotle chilli in it that was none existent didn't send bwck as we had already waited an hour

This pub is an absolute gem. Great beers, tasty food and fantastic service. Our waitress Charlotte was super friendly, nothing was too much trouble and her service was exemplary.

Went here for my mom's 30th and it was great loved the food loved the atmosphere and the service was 10/10 our waiter Charlotte couldn't have been better she was a lovely girl and got everything out to us very quick :)

A really excellent lunch. Great food, well cooked, well presented, and well served. Staff very cheerful, very helpful and a credit to the restaurant. This is our second visit in the last few weeks. As we'd just arrived in Redditch we would this Ember Inns Pub. It was extremely busy but we found a table. The food arrived after a short time. The food was hot and of a good size. The beef rin was really tender and flavoursome, my Parners Gammon was a little dry but the egg and pineapple made it good. I tried to book for the Thursday which was days later but it was fully booked for the Quix night. I would go again as we use the Dexter where we live in Yorkshire.

Fabulous meal. Great staff. Lovely atmosphere. Definitely will be going back again and again. What a contrast to the meal we had last week at the M&B pub in Alvechurch. Thanks to all the staff who contributed to our lunch. Well done.

Very,very poor, meal (First post few months ago) Been going many years off and on. Will wait till thing's improve till we go again. Staff good. Paid Bramely a visit for tea last night , wanted to see if food had improved,did a starter soup and main gammon,wife steak,improved on last time meals all ok. Staff were very good. Up to a four star now from one previously. Only comment had a receipt and noticed vat on beer. Told draught ales had vat,cask not. So a £4.55 pint had 20% vat added on top. First time I've seen that. 18/01/23 Thing's really improved, lovely, quality two course lunch and beautiful ales , definitely going back. Will book to get a table we like, although luckily not to busy when we went and staff brilliant. March Very disappointed,meal lovely, service staff excellent,but that's where it stops. The Bramely cottage now seems inundated with dogs,dogs not a problem if they have a designated area to go. Unfortunately since our last visit they seem to be allowed anywhere in the resteraunt. One dog sat behind us on the floor then barked when owner went to bar to get another drink. Another owner allowed the dog to sit on a cushion on the sofa and then walk all over the table. Barked fairly continuously. This we reported to the bar staff. A new family arrived and sat at the table as previous occupants left. A lady then sat at another table lifted dog onto chair by her,the dog then put it's paws on table, when food arrived nothing was said and she fed dog from her plate with scraps. Sorry hygiene at the Bramely is definitely questionable. A complaint has been forwarded . November Visited tonight for evening meal, mixed grill spot on selection of guest ales well kept, one meal very poor sirloin mostly fat. Had to revisit bill as our tab had drinks from another table? Would visit again. But expect better.

Great service. Good food. Things that we would like is the option of jacket potatoes or new potatoes instead of chips.
