Food was excellent, had the large carvery and was not disappointed, only thing I will say is the decor is an interesting choice. Was sat next to a horses head statue lol

I booked this for a surprise meal for my husband, it was booked for 18:30 but when everyone arrived they stayed it was booked for 19:00… so when me and my partner walked in no one was seated yet. The manager did arrange for us to have some free drinks which was really kind after the delay. Food as always was very good!

Absolutely love the Goose! The food is absolutely incredible. In particular the parsnips and the garlic potatoes (only on Sundays). The ladies who work behind the carvery counter are legends 👌

I did not try the food only had two beers with my fiance, but had to cover it as there were a pair with a clearly poor groomed husky and I love doggies also not the pub's issue but it was disgusting as the fur was flying in the air across the benches... The dog was agonized clearly. It did not feel well as the weather was very warm and It could not settle down. Not my resort to judge anyithin but with this much outside tables somebody should stay there and organizing things or patrol them.

Only went for drinks My husband needed to use the bathroom & was on crutched. The floor was very slippery & he had a fall. The staff were made aware but didn't really seemed that bothered. I just hope somebody doesn't really hurt themselves as this is a major hazard & needs to be addressed seriously.

visited the goose on saturday 5th april with family not my first choice i normally go elsewhere for a carvery the pub was done out nicely for easter we went up to the bar where i was greeted by a young girl who first words were can i help you sweet she must have called me sweet half a dozen times she had a piecing through her nose the lad who checked the booking wasnt much better either the one good thing about the place was the carvery very tastefull i went up to the bar to order a sweet and the same girl again served me saying yes sweet 7th time now im not a snob but you dont call customers sweet its a birmingham saying as a result of this i will be returning to my normal venue where they no how to talk to customers properly!!

Went last night for the first time in 3 years due to a bad experience, both me and my partner were both very poorly after, and we won't be returning.

Dog friendly pub makes this a perfect dog walking win. Great value hot food n drinks and tasty beers if you prefer.

I took my mother to the Golden Goose in Redditch for Sunday lunch today. All the staff were very efficient and very charming. The Landlady was so lovely and welcoming. The food at the carvery was just fabulous all fresh and hot and the service was excellent. A wonderful experience I would recommend to anyone. Thank you so very much for a wonderful lunch.

This pub is our local but even if it wasn't I believe we would go. Friendly staff, like Sharon, as well as good prices (and a good carvery) means we'll keep coming back.

Absolute joke of a place. Tried ringing previously to be told no tables. Visited in person after the main lunch rush, got ignored for 5 mins, several empty tables, people finished were leaving, to be told they wouldnt fit me in for nearly 4hours! Then they turned their back on me and ignored me again. How rude. Suffice to say i will never bother trying to go here again. Clearly not part of a clique or they are incredibly inefficient. And in reply to the owner i did try online booking but the website is rubbish it gives times that had passed, times greyed out for full then no option at all either way after 2.30 until 7.30. Regardless of what you say to be told its full, you'll have to sit outside then have 2 staff immediately turn round with their back to you is rude. They didnt even look back afain we stood there a couple mins after this even. Meanwhile someone thanked you for 'squeezing them in' as they left, clearly a regular who hadnt booked and there were lots of empty spaces. Just inefficient way of running. I have no intention of ever trying again.

My friends and I eat there at least once a week. You get a proper meal at a reasonable price.

Having been a few times now, I really can recommend this place for carvery. Great options and brilliant food. My only minor point is you tend to have to wait a bit as there never seems enough staff on to serve. It really is only a very minor point but I am honest and unbiased in all my reviews otherwise what is the point of doing reviews. 😄 if you don't mind a few mins wait (some people are very impatient-as I noticed whilst here 🤣) then I very much recommend 👌

We went for breakfast on Sunday morning, my partner and I, and we had "The Works". The mushrooms were like bullets, more like leather buttons off a duffel coat! The bacon was like cardboard and the sausage was burnt and very dry. The scrambled egg was tasteless. There's obviously no pride at all with what you served.

Hey, 14 of us , on a Saturday night, having a meal, grandkids x4 having children's menu. + puddings and drinks. Absolutely superb food first rate value for money. Most of all the service with a smile second to none. Can not fault the place. Thank you to the back room chefs bar people management it all made my weekend ! Celebrating my 65th. Such good customer service thanks!

Our first visit, we went with friends. Booked in advance, after an hour drive, we were informed there was no space (clearly we weren't going anywhere). So we were placed at one of the four empty tables (one remained empty all evening). I appreciate there are no shows, but at least seat the people who have a reservation and have shown up. We all had the carvery, included vegetarian gravy, much appreciated. Ice cream and cakes for the kids went down well and fairly priced for the size.

Utter rubbish i needed a chainsaw for the meat don't waste your money 42 pound it cost for the two of us and u have to pay extra for pigs in blankets which is 3 pound and lamb is extra too wont be going back

Pub itself is very nice and the waitresses are lovely but vicky (one of the owners) is a horrible lady who treats and speaks to her staff like crap, iv witnessed it on two occasions myself, she made the one waitress cry. When ever vicky is in the pub she is always drinking, even when she serves others behind the bar she is drinking. Sets a very bad example on the pub and it's a shame because it's a nice pub with nice food and lovely unappreciated hard working staff who gets treated like complete wrap

We were recommend this place, I wasn’t overly impressed with the carvery to be fair, - meat was a limited small portion and dry, roast potatoes and parsnips were okay, the mash tasted weird so did the cabbage, to have lamb and pigs in blankets you pay an extra £3 odd pounds for each, for the price and quality we felt it was quite expensive and will not be returning

I did have a 1 star review here before from 7 years ago I think the place has improved dramatically The cutlery is no longer sticky and the meat quality has improved There were no fist fights this time around!

Best carvery we've had for a very long time, amazing homemade Yorkshire puddings.

Lovely decorated as it was the Christmas period when we visited. Although we hadn’t booked a table they did manage to accommodate us in the bar/lounge area. Great buffet with a choice of meats, they also provide vegetarian gravy. Friendly staff.

Most of the food is good... Carrots were very hard and undercooked, and although the meat was nice there was so little. Asked for a bit of everything and got half a sliver of beef barely worth bothering with. Otherwise pretty average.

Simply the best carvery,the best staff.the best quality food,the best price and lets not forget the best owner Vicky. This place is such a joy to visit.

Great carvery, fast service, clean, no fuss.

Normally eat lunch here once a month with a friend but as it is a busy time of the month decided to have ‘The Works’ breakfast…..amazed when I clapped my eyes on it and struggled to contain my stomach from growling desperately for what was on the very large plate. Every item was superb in quality and beautifully cooked and the portion…..just huge. Must admit I was particularly taken by the baked mushrooms which were 11/10….rest I am afraid to give them 10/10. Great selection on menu….can you bring back the steak deal please 🙏…..Fantastic value for money cheaper than having a missus cook it ….and less earache! Thank you happy, smiling eye candy Vicky & staff for looking after us during the last eighteen months or so and can’t wait to see you all in the New Year. Merry Christmas to each!

Great carvery, lovely staff and plenty of parking. Well be going again!

My friend and I both had carvery. She had beef and turkey, which she said was nice. I had beef and pork, and was good. Yorkie and stuffing were a bit overcooked. Desserts of sticky toffee pudding and raspberry/choc cheesecake went down a treat. Overall a good lunch, and quite reasonably priced.

Visited multiple times but the most recent was disappointing. Firstly the tables were filthy and I was sat right up in the corner which was horrific. I had the chicken burger which was so dry, was purely bread, chicken burger and a slice of lettuce, they had forgotten the spicy mayo, it would've been better going to McDonald's. The dessert was lovely.

The carvery was delicious the atmosphere was brilliant the decorations were beautiful just like Santa's grotto.

Service is quick the staff are all lovely and friendly and helpful and supportive and understanding and trustworthy and non judgemental and caring and reliable and responsible and patient and good listeners and it is very good value for money the hunters chicken and the mac and cheese bites and the carving are delicious and I totally recommend it and we will definitely be coming here again.

I came here again last night and had the festive feast. 3 courses for £15.50. Wow what value for money. The food was beautiful, but we found the highlight was the lady carver (sian). She was such a happy, welcoming person, an asset to this pub. She wished every single person happy christmas, was extremely patient and attentive. Booked a table for 5pm, stood waiting at “wait here to be served for food sign” for 5 mins. Blue haired lady shouts over bar “can I help you” only to ask me to come closer as she “couldn’t hear me”…yet sign is where I’m stood. We then had a table that she pointed at to be seated and sat there for 25 mins without being offered a drink or a menu. Gent with glasses behind bar spent 30 minutes attempting to serve 4 people. Safe to say it was 8 by the time we left, very poor service, rude member of staff overseeing things. Wasn’t even busy. Have been for drinks before in back bar no issues. Would avoid with food they haven’t got a clue. DM

We were staying in Redditch and were looking online for places to eat and after spotting this place and reading the reviews we thought we'd give it a try and boy are we glad we did - probably the best carvery we've had. Good selection of meats, good selection of fresh veg and very tasty roast potatos. Staff were friendly and helpful, a good atmosphere although it was a little too warm in there. Will definitely return and certainly recommend.

Really enjoyed my first carvery at the golden goose. Generous sized portion, lovely mash and roasters and gravy. Would highly recommend, (even for a fan of Toby carvery).

Staff are friendly, welcoming and so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Food is amazing - delicious meats and a huge selection of vegetables ...... truly scrumptious. I cannot recommend highly enough! Thank you to all at the Golden Goose - we have already booked our return!!!! x

After coming to this pub for a number of years every Christmas as a central place for family gatherings, I was disappointed to find that this year we could not book as they no long take large gatherings at peak times over Christmas through fear of no shows. Very disappointing to hear - we will take our large booking elsewhere

Always a great meal, Sunday toasts are 10/10. Our last few visits we were greeted by Sharon, a lovely, friendly waitress who always goes above and beyond. She is a genuinely lovely woman.

I have never eaten a more delicious carvery than at the Golden Goose EVER. Portion sizes are massive. Good pint to go with it. Very friendly staff and comfortable environment. Definitely one not to be missed.

Came for breakfast was busier than I thought it was going to be but still alot of tables available in both restaurant and bar. Customer service is great and staff very friendly. Plenty of parking available Food was nice although sausages are very thin not a decent meaty sausage but other than that breakfast was nice and tasty. Pancakes and syrup were lovely. I would say a little over priced compared to other places.

Best carvery I have had for a while. Generous portions of well cooked meat. Well seasoned sauce with brocoli and cauliflower. Abundance of fresh veg. Home cooked fresh fruit crumble with real cream. Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend, will be back.

Polite and friendly upon entry everyone had a great energy about them, service is all at the bar. Good drinks selection, noticed a dirty glass, happily exchanged and reduced, what a lovely gesture! Carvery style food, meats are to die for! Cooked beautifully (I had gammon and turkey) meat portion sizes OK. yorkies, amazing. Veg was a great selection just needed seasoning but understand that's my personal preference, and being from a food background, I can't see non foodies having anything bad to say as the selection was great and it was all cooked beautifully. Grounds are well looked after, just be careful in the car park, all be it the spaces are plentiful just watch it as it's bit of a bumpy ride in places.

Just been to the Golden Goose for lunch again. Same as before - lovely food and atmosphere and the ever-smiling Nicky making sure we felt welcome and got us our favourite table as before.

Have been a few times this year but the last visit made me not want to ever go back :)))) Firstly, the lady behind the bar ALWAYS has an attitude which is really irritating… if you don’t like your job hun - QUIT. We’ve had food that day and then went to order some desserts , order was taken paid etc…. the desserts arrive (mine was a hot dessert) and not even joking exactly 3 MINUTES later the same lady comes over and says unfortunately you have to leave in 5 minutes as we’re preparing the tables for the evening customers. To which we responded “we’ve literally just got our desserts we have kids how do you expect us to finish eating in 5 minutes ?” The lady did not have a good enough explanation for this just repeated again that we have 5 minutes. By that point we were not happy and told the lady that we will leave when we finish our food which they VERY HAPPILY took order for and took the money for without saying it is too late to order any more food…. All they had to do was let us know we can’t order desserts as they have to tidy up for the evening customers Absolutely pathetic. Won’t be returning.

Lovely atmosphere lovely fresh food but don't always make a booking .but last few times we have been.have been put in a small table in front of carvery,all tables are empty very quiet we were ther for hour and half tables still all empty ,so why were we put in front of carvery again.another family came in no booking and was put on a table with nice glasses and napkins we are pensioners of 87 and 74, why dose this happen .

The warm welcome and service that we received made the food taste that little bit better ! Ps Update I must of caught them off guard on the previous visit! on our latest visit the reception was cold and the manager was rude! We won’t be going back!!

The guy who welcomes you and takes people to the table is rude with a total absence of customer skills. He should not be front of house! The Staff in general lack a customer focus and appear not to want to be there (Burnt out, worn out and apathetic). Too many people packed into a small space. Food is cold and meat is poor, with the beef being very fatty. Expensive for dreadful service, poor food and an overcrowded pub.

Front of house staff who was not professional as arrogant when we arrived and walked past table and knocked the chair I was sat on and did not acknowledge this, food was ok

Carvery was gorgeous, fresh and well cooked. The pub felt cramped and the staff almost rushed us out it was that busy.

I just cannot express how much I love their carvery and breakfast. I order it at least once or twice a week. I get it delivered to work. The portions are huge, the quality is amazing and the price is unbeatable. You will not find anything better value in town, or more delicious. I’m absolutely obsessed. My only issue is you’re not always available for delivery at breakfast time. I honestly just need it for breakfast and lunch. Also they always read my notes and cater to my low carb requirements, which I really appreciate as a lot of places don’t do that. 10 out of 10 guys. Keep it up.

Horrendous quality of meet all just pure fat and grissle the lady who served it clearly thought it was acceptable we had to just eat vegetables as all the meat was scrap

Food portions sizes at the Goose are undersized unless you have a carvery. I asked for extra vegetables as the portion was quite small. The size I had was really for a child.

Lovely place for a bite to eat while the kids loved the pump track 2 minutes away, we enjoyed a cold drink and a break from the sun. Regular carvery £8.50 with the usual beef, gammon, turkey or pork and a selection of veg too.

Carvery was absolutely brilliant. Midweek so a choice of four meats (five on Sunday), I had a slice of each. Veg choice equally good, too much to have it all, the parsnips and paprika potatoes were top notch. A really nice touch was a wooden plate under the hot plate, much better than paper napkins. Value: outstanding. £8.50 carvery was a great price but carvery plus crumble was £10.50, too good to miss. Crumble and custard well received. A nice pint of Pedigree on hand pull, excellent helpful and friendly service from the bar staff. I wish I lived nearer.

Would 100% reccomend the golden goose, its a lovley friendly atmosphre, very nicley decorated with a comfortable relaxed setting, the staff are lovley and always on it, and take everything into their stride. The food was absolutley amazingggg the best roast dinner i have ever had! If your someone who enjoys a toby carvey its definetly for you, its 10 times better than a toby, honestly gorgeous. The lady serving ua our meat was very nice too. 10/10 experience will be visiting again! Thankyou
