A great little place for coffee, light lunch of paninis and cakes. Good outdoor seating and perfect while exploring Corsham high street.

Absolutely dreadful! Advertised a la carte menu replaced with a 'bar' menu. Took the waiter 15 minutes to bring a menu and ask if we'd like drinks 40 minutes for food to arrive which was not hot. The pork belly my colleague had was wrapped in gooey fat not crackling, the pumpkin sauce was a teaspoon of orange 'something' and the seasonal veg was mashed potato and some peas. The chicken burger was deep fried and tasted of old fryer fat as did the 'tepid' skin in chips. Presentation of the burger was non existent and the two tiny leaves of lettuce were brown. This was fed back to the waiter when he finally returned to our table his response was he'd mention it to the Chef. The after dinner treat of sticky toffee pudding was solid and rubbery, not moist. The tiniest bit of ice cream and a token gesture at the sauce all was tepid. The dining room was cold and drafty. The decor tired and wall paper peeling off the ceiling and walls. Utterly awful experience with nobody interested in the overall shoddiness of the service and food. Really disappointing, especially as this is the closest hotel to work. A real missed opportunity for this Hotel and Restaurant.

Just poped in again for their fish and chip takeaway tried to charge more than they should. ( no apology ) of which I pulled them up for it was a genuine mistake of which I accepted. I raised an issue on a previous take away of which chips were very small must have been the last in the hopper there was no apology! the owner was always fine before ( she was not there at the time ) it was no doubt the staff did not take a shine I was disappointed and will return to the other one in the Town now.

We went to the bell yesterday for a family lunch. We were sat in the barn which was cold and noisy. The waitress sat us down then didn’t come back so we had to wander back into the bar to ask if we could order drinks. I ordered the cod, which sounded lovely on the menu, instead what arrived was an unattractive plate of cod with what looked like a block of cheese melted on top! It was greasy and absolutely disgusting! No one apologised and no real effort was made to see if I would like anything else. The other meals were average. Service wasn’t great, quite frankly after a 2 hour drive from the midlands to take my Nan out for lunch was a disappointment. I wouldn’t be rushing back.

We went for a Sunday lunch. It's a sharing board, apparently for people with small appetites. I went specifically because i am gluten free and the menu says on the beef and Yorkshire pudding option (gf option available). The gf option is without Yorkshire pudding! Quite disappointing. The portion sizes of the meat is miniscule. Two small slices of beef, about the size of a slice of fray bentos corned beef shape. Qtr of chicken, just a leg piece. For £22! I also had the prawn starter which was 3 prawns in a bowl of salad. My son wanted pigs in blankets which was £7 for three small sausages in bacon! We all came away hungry. The Yorkshire pudding was similar to the size you get in a packet in Tesco. The only people who could possibly rave about the food here are those unable to boil an egg. The owner/manager seems to think he is funny, he isn't. His service is an acquired taste, one of which we had no desire to acquire.

Very disappointed. Checked before going if they provide vegetarian breakfast and it quite clearly stated a vegetarian breakfast on the menu. But on arriving at the breakfast choice there was no vegetarian option. I asked if they provide vegetarian sausages and got a shrug and “ they might have started cooking them”. No one offered to go and check and it felt like it was too much bother. Wish we had gone else where and won’t be going there for food again.

Myself and my partner booked Rudloe for a night away for our anniversary. We had high hopes and felt so so excited. On arrival, the lady at reception was lovely! We were then very pleased with our room. However, when it came time to dine we headed to the restaurant. We waited by the restaurant entrance and were not seated or acknowledged for 5 minutes. We then walked back out to reception to check if we had used a wrong entrance as we were baffled by why we were ignored. When back in reception, we asked a man if we had got it right and he said “it’s not hard” and stormed off. This ruined the evening before it had even started in some ways, and foreshadowed the shoddy behaviour from staff for the rest of the night. Drinks orders forgotten, steaks arrived and got cold before the sides arrived. Overall disorganised. Food was delicious though! We were not seen to for a long time to leave, so we just got up to walk to the desk area to sign the bill. As we got up, we were again approached unkindly by another male waiter who was rude and brash and got us to sign the bill- the only way we got any attention that evening! I would never return to the restaurant. The room however was divine ! Me and my partner ate as fast as we could then rushed right back to the room to not ruin our night with the bad attitude of staff.

Ordered a coronation chicken sandwich with sides of dressed mixed leaves and crisps, order arrived with no dressing on the leaves and no crisps on the plate, the sandwich filling was only what I can describe as bland chicken mayo with a yellow tinge of colouring, no flavour at all apart from the margarine that was so thickly spread on the bread.
