Very disappointed. Checked before going if they provide vegetarian breakfast and it quite clearly stated a vegetarian breakfast on the menu. But on arriving at the breakfast choice there was no vegetarian option. I asked if they provide vegetarian sausages and got a shrug and “ they might have started cooking them”. No one offered to go and check and it felt like it was too much bother. Wish we had gone else where and won’t be going there for food again.

We dropped in whilst passing hoping for a decent lunch. It took ages to find the restaurant as there were no signs anywhere that we could see. We asked a staff member and she asked which one? There are 2. We just wanted a proper lunch so were directed to the restaurant. They couldn't manage a child's ham & chips so we chose fish fingers, chips and peas. A huge portion fit for an adult so half was wasted. Adults had quiche and salad. Food was pretty tasteless, peas looked as if they had been sitting in water for hours. Quiche was light and fluffy without much flavour, potatoes were not all cooked through. A child's milkshake was £5 and half of the glass was just froth. Setting was nice, light and airy and fairly quiet. I think it was overpriced for the quality and wouldn't go there again. Typical garden centre, large but expensive.

I have been going to Whitehall garden centre in Norton lane Bristol for twenty years with my dogs when I went Friday 26 th 2024 there was a large notice on the door saying no dogs When I emailed the company they said there policy had changed and sent me a copy of the policy. The only thing in there is that they have family’s and children in the centre. So are we not letting children around dogs anymore. And I’d point out that a lot of family’s have dogs themselves It also said there was a piece of grass outside the centre that I could go and stand and wait with my dog. I feel there is no valid reason for there decision. I am now going to one of the pets welcome garden centres Poor excuse of a garden centre

A garden centre that doesn’t accept dogs! I’d gone with the intention of buying new patio furniture and was so shocked to find myself being escorted out like a criminal because I had a dog with me. I couldn’t see anything clearly signed to say no dogs and I interacted with two members of staff in the car park neither of whom told me I couldn’t take my dog inside the store, so Dobbies got my multi £££££ purchase of the patio furniture instead

Normally get good service but not today ! We picked up an item which was out amongst similar items for sale, had a Price tag on it, went through the till and scanned ok, we queried the price as the signs around it said 50% off, Customer service or checkout team leader came over, snatched the item and said you can't buy this as it's a display item. We tried to explain it had a price tag, and it had scanned through the till etc, she was not even willing to discuss it or even apologise.

Not a bad Christmas display although expensive BUT it would be far better if you went in through the gardens direct from the car park and OUT through the main door rather than having to walk along the narrow pavement with people going both ways! Not easy to social distance unless you walk in the road. Whitehall have plenty of space and staff and so the would be an easy fix.Counter on door a good idea so they know exactly how many customers are in the store at any one time.Cant rate on restaurant as didn't go there for food!!!

We visited after an afternoon wander in Westbury, and on a whim decided to stop off for our yearly Christmas display looksies! The social distancing was set up quite well, just a shame of others around us were getting a tad close, but we moved away. The one way system works well also (despite the other people doubling backing), but because there wasn't many people visiting it wasn't too much of an issue. We loved the displays as usual, and managed a few trinkets, we also had a wander through the food area and the gift zone without much luck. But it was an hour well spent, and always get us in the Christmas spirit. Keep up the hard work!

Went here on Thursday as my autistic son loves lights and all that which comes with the autistic spectrum. We picked midday as we thought it would be quiet for him as he's non verbal but can communicate with people via makaton. When we got there it was a little busier than I had thought but went ahead with the visit anyway and just see how we go. When we went in my son became slightly agitated with the excess noise but a lovely security guy, I think his name was John came over to see if we were OK so I explained to him our situation and out of no were John started speaking to my son using makaton which he thought was amazing but as a mum I was speechless as I've never taken my son any were were a staff member as ever managed to speak to him using it. If im being honest it made me cry a bit as my son loved the interaction and it settled him completely. John kept reassuring him he would be ok and that he will be there if he needs him. I was speechless with it all and really made our day possible as with out that I could of seen us leave and go straight back home. I'd really like to thank John for making my son feel amazing and happy as it never happens with him when we try to take him out so thank you very much you made our day.

17 of us, including 7 children, turned up at 8.30am to skate. The rink was water and so closed, I understand. However, the staff response was not acceptable. Faced with the kids crying, the staff just said"not our fault", "claim a refund on line", "Not my problem", " please leave, you're getting in the way". We were told that there was a link on the emailed tickets to claim the refund, but there wasn't. Disappointed, we decided to get breakfast there and try to cheer up the kids. Not such a good idea after all. Had to wait for cafe to open, then not all options available (too early). Sausages were not nice, and looked raw. Lots of people left their sausages. They also left the doorstop slices of bread as they were so dry and tricky to swallow. All in all a disaster of a morning. I await my refund with baited breath! We visit Whitehall on a regular basis, play in the playground, eat in lavender cottage, buy our summer houses, sheds and plants. They are usually ok. What a difference poor customer service makes!

Arrived for booked annual family ice skating and found rink closed due to technical issues. Ice Marshalls sent everyone to the Customer Services desk for refunds or to rebook. Surly lady at Customer Services desk advised she could do absolutely nothing with online orders (which majority of us were) and we were to email them instead. Why? Families milling around waiting for responses and to see if they could book later sessions (clearly a ploy to get us to spend more money there). Whitehall not replying to emails.

Even though the tearoom was busy the staff were kind, friendly and efficient. I had booked online and all dietary requirements were sorted. The food was lovely and in the festive theme the cakes were decorated in a traditional Christmas way with a parcel, snowman, Christmas pudding and reindeer. We visited this afternoon with our two grandaughters & it was rammed. Despite some rather negative reviews, this place was incredibly busy. Think there biggest problem is they struggle to deal with the influx of customers at the busiest time. Skating rink was busy, as was the café & despite the wait, the variety & quality of cakes was impressive. There are two play areas, one for under 5s and a large open area with pedal tractors and off ground trim trail. There is also a huge sandpit with free use of buckets spades and digger trucks. Loads of picnic tables and deck chairs. Whitehall always has a seasonal attraction as well and today it was a jungle experience done with animated life size animals in their habitat; together with fact sheets and authentic sounds of the jungle. Great place to visit when they don't have an event on. Very decent plants (expensive) and decent cafe. But and a big BUT, unless you go this time of year for a specific reason ie to see Santa, the reindeers, the crimbo tat, forget it. Extremely expensive decorations available in local market towns for half the price, literally, I checked. Horrible distant gravel car park, a nightmare for toddlers and less abled when it is wet, or any time of year actually. Having said all of that Santa and the ice rink are great. Seasons greetings.

The food is nice, a bit over priced but the layout of the restaurant means you take your hot food, in this case it was the Christmas turkey, then you have to wait through a large slow que of people ordering elaborate coffees and cakes in order to pay, by the time you have payed for the food is barely warm. There's only one till open and at this time of year it's just not good enough, not even organised chaos! Another issue is finding a table, once located before you join a large que, one member of the party must save the table before going to que up for their own food. Why don't you have everybody pay for drinks first and AT THE SAME TIME pay for food and then present a ticket to collect the food? This restaurant needs much better management not a collection of stressed out staff.

Came here on the recent bank holiday because I thought this was the sort of place which would be ready for a busy day (everyone goes to garden centres and the like on bank holidays ). Wrong idea. Only wanted a quick sandwich or something toastie like, there was a depleted selection of pre prepared panini and the girl behind the counter said she couldn't make any of the missing choices! Also the area where the panini were toasted, cut and plated was a disaster but we were hungry so selected a couple of bacon and brie options. Panini are served with a salad selection from a tired looking bunch of the usual suspects. I think the salads are there to give a premium price rather than add value (especially as there is not a price option without salad). The dining area area is pleasant but let down by the amount of uncleared tables. The food was tasty it must be said but this place could and should do so much better no matter what day it is and how busy they are. Gave a three dot average rating, two and half would be accurate, it's not poor but it is below average. Hope they read reviews and improve because I am sure it could get excellent ratings with just a little attention.

grandma, grandad and 2 grandchildren took a trip here especially to see the exhibition, food was lovely we had the cream tea, the staff in the lavender restaurant was lovely, the young girl who served me at the checkout when buying tickets for the exhibition, was nice, but I noticed whilst queing up, there were 2 checkout staff watching, but did not ask for me to be served, they looked quite misarable, not good customer service there.

The cafe here has been revamped. That’s good, much better environment BUT.... new air con and ceiling fans not working?! Visit today, bank holiday Monday. Chaos! Tables not cleared, floor covered in food, only one person serving drinks despite long queue. Express drink counter not open! If you buy hot food, by the time you get to check out it is cold! Visitors having to clear tables, and clean surfaces before they could sit down.

Wonderful fairies, particularly Charlie and Fred who were so kind and considerate when my grandson with autism was very reluctant to enter the attraction. They charged to us and told us all sorts of interesting facts about Elizabeth the tooth fairy!!

Amazing value roast lunch here, piping hot, masses of vegetables, a good portion of meat and a super environment to enjoy it. Children’s meals were plentiful with good choices. Thoroughly recommended!

The staff are the restaurant are lovely and helpful. Also cheerful and I enjoyed my cream tea . The staff at the checkout are another story . The young man with the beard who served me was most surly and after wrapping up my drinks glasses was most surprised that I needed a bag in order to carry them out of the shop . Quite a rude person. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars .

I’m gluten intolerant, so my cake experiences are often pretty lacklustre. I would highly recommend the lavender tea room for ambience, and the gf pear and ginger cake was divine! Thanks for a lovely stop.

This is a nice café. Clean, tidy and with attentive and friendly staff. I suggest to all complaining that you should probably be less miserable and rude to the staff because they’re probably not paid enough to be putting up with you. I read something about reformed chicken goujons in the kids meals as if the customer was expecting something gourmet to which I suggest your expectations are lowered because that is a very petty complaint.

We have been to the steak night twice and what a hidden gem. The staff are attentive without being intrusive. The steaks were spot on and very well presented. It is extremely good value. Alternatives to steak are on offer. The restaurant closes early, consistent with garden centre closing, which may explain why it is not more popular. Whatever your experience of the restaurant during the day shouldn’t be allowed to deter you giving it a try. Note this review does not extend to the fish night on Fridays which we do not rate as highly.

Popped in the restaurant after the Fairy & Dino exhibit. Sat down at 11.40 to get a table. Hot food starts from 12. The restaurant has had a referb since we last visited. Lovely big wooden tables and chairs all painted in light colours. A big improvement on what it looked like before. By 11.50 all the tables were taken due to it being half term. The food menu catered from a full blown meal to panini and cakes. I had a Jacket potato with prawns. Great value for £8 although the Marie Rose sauce could have done with something as bland. My daughter had a packed lunch of 5 items. Service quick & with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. Look forward to our next visit.

A great lunch or casual dinner place is right in the supermarket! We had a great meal when we just went in for a quick snack after a successful food shopping trip. Kudos to the kitchen staff, especially JASON, who made us feel welcome and served up some great food (fish and chips, cheeseburgers, fries, hamburgers, chicken nuggets for the children). I'd go back any time we're shopping in Chippenham.

As I’m a northerner Harry Ramsdens is very close to my heart,so when I visited the one in Swindon I was a little apprehensive about what they would serve up. It was all superb, and the staff were so friendly as well. Definitely worth a visit.

Have stayed here 3 times before.also have stayed in numerous wetherspoons hotels and recommended them to everyone.i have to say we were quite disappointed this time.the staff were very helpful but this hotel needs a serious makeover.our room although bed and very quite wasn't the best.air con not working although we had a heater which was sufficient heating the room.and in all fairness the lovely guy who checked us in told us about it and said if we needed another heater to let him know.towel heater didn't work and tv lost tv channels!!!.OK if you wanted to watch kids cctv.the shower took a age to drain.sad to say but next visit to Salisbury won't be staying here unless major refurbishment.

We booked for a family lunch yesterday. Restaurant is lovely and staff were very welcoming. Our starters were amazing, absolutely delicious. Though the roast was very average in my opinion. We had roast pork which stated it came with stuffing. It wasn’t on the plate so we had to ask for that. The lady did bring out 2 stuffing balls but we had 3 roasts. Carrots were very hard. Very average for the price I would say. We did have a lovely time and we will definitely be back, but will just probably go for something else other than a roast next time.

If you are in the beautiful Castle Combe stop by the White Hart, great food and beers and a friendly and warm atmosphere
