What a disappointment . Been here every year but this time a disaster. Popped in for a cream tea and coffee and cake . The cream tea the worst I have had in Cornwall , and the lemon meringue pie was the smallest portion I have ever seen !! for £4.80 a rip off . We don’t mind paying we are on holiday and whilst we understand prices if you do serve such small portions then reflect accordingly in the price charged . We did bring this to the management attention who then said that was how the suppliers pre cut it !! What a load of rubbish don’t blame suppliers I am not interested it is your business and needless to say due to your rudeness we will never be back . Other reviewers have made similar comments about prices, portions, and very poor customer service . Perhaps you should listen to your customers that keep your business going . I would not recommend this place to anyone .

End of lockdown, so everywhere was rammed or had huge queues. We waited about 20 mins for this and it was really unusual and absolutely delicious! We had a large Fishermans Basket and dirty fries to share, plenty of food for two.

The fish was clearly off and absolutely stank the car out when we started eating them. The chips tasted stale and as though they’d be hanging around in the warmer for ages. Also put off by a member of staff wiping his nose on his arm! Lessons in food hygiene are definitely required in this establishment. Made the effort to drink to this place but the food ended up in the bin. A total waste of time and money. Please consider before wasting your money here.

Now trialling a Sunday lunch menu which is truly outstanding. Starters to share are Lobster croquette and Windy Ridge Farm Rump cap, the usual homemade breads with fresh cheese and the amazing Kota heritage tomatoes. All prepared to the usual high standards. Then a choice of roast beef (from Phillip Warren) or roast pork, with all the usual vegetables. To follow are two shared desserts, a massive bread and butter pudding with soda bread ice cream and chocolate mouse with blackberry ice cream and fennel. Packed restaurant despite torrential rain, great atmosphere and attentive and friendly service. Get in while you can, a lot of very high quality and very tasty food at £49.50 per head. Highly recommended

Lovely beer and a cosy pub but the bar maid had a conversation with a Welsh customer about how much they disliked the English because the Celts were pushed into Cornwall and North Wales by the Angles..finished my beer and left, wouldn't give them anymore of my money..Stupid, ignorant and childish people.

I see they review all of these BUT still do not reply to genuine complaints!I did not explain in fully as I’d done so in my email to the owner. I did praise them on a great product and a successful business . However it seems being polite in this doesn’t qualify for good manners and a reply . All I can say is train you staff to deal with your CUSTOMERS. As well as making pretty coffee!!! Perhaps all they want is good reviews ?
