The Atlantic Inn in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Called in for a pint as we were on holiday in Porthleven. Pitty Rattler is not on draft but still tasty from a bottle. The sunset can be awesome but you need clear sky's.

Had a delicious lunch and a nice lady at the counter. Nice place above the harbour.

Went to The Atlantic whilst on holiday and there happened to be a beer festival on and live music. Fantastic atmosphere and very friendly staff and locals, felt quite at home! It's a great authentic pub to grab a pint and catch the sun setting.

We were made very welcome when we arrived. We ordered food but had to wait quite a while for it to arrive, even though the pub wasn't busy. Sadly, the food wasn't great. The pasta bake wasn't very hot and needed to be returned. The burgers were nice, but the rest of the meal was just passable. The 'crispy' onion rings were greasy and unpleasant. It was such a shame as the place has the potential for great things, a great view etc. We shan't return, sorry.

OK cider time with a few plus local casks of beer.

Very difficult to locate and poor parking. Lunch ok for a Sunday but could be better. Lack of atmosphere. Good views

We went on Friday for fish and chips and it was really good , it was only £12 for fish, chips, peas and tartare sauce , would recommend to anyone, great service and so friendly x

What a great experience. We went for Sunday lunch and what a treat it was. The portions were large and very tasty. Cooked to,perfection. The ladies serving were fantastic, friendly, helpful and amusing. We highly recommend eating at the Atlantic Inn.

Awesome Sunday lunch (regular size £12 and more than enough) We had 3 choices of meat, I had turkey and hubby had beef...both delicious and such good value! Looked after by Fiona and would definitely go again. We booked (recommend in the high season)

Roaring fire and a greeting from behind the bar. Been three or four times before and once again a top lunch. The Atlantic's a proper pub. Normal people, chatter and fun. Hugely enjoy the place and will keep going back. So nice to be in a pub where the staff make you feel appreciated and welcome.

What a great pub, set back from the harbour it’s well worth a trip up the hill to find it, good range of beers representing the best value in the village, great home cooked food and a roaring wood burner! Thoroughly enjoyed our visits to this well run pub & can recommend the food & fine Ales, clearly supported by the locals which is always a good sign but we were made to feel more than welcome.

What a great pub, set back from the harbour it’s well worth a trip up the hill to visit, we were down for the new year & had a lovely meal as well as drinks on other occasions, best value food & drink in the village & clearly supported by the locals, food was excellent & Ales well kept, great service! We visited for Sunday roast (one beef and one pork) which we enjoyed. There’s a choice of portion sizes and, being particularly hungry, we went for the large portion which came with a good serving of meat and was decent value at £16. There was a good selection of vegetables which were nicely cooked with just the right amount of crunch to them. We thought we wouldn't be able to manage a pudding but when we saw someone eating the sticky toffee pudding, we couldn’t resist! However, despite it being delicious, I was defeated and couldn’t finish. Including a couple of hot drinks (tea and latte), our bill came to just under £50. Service was okay, although we felt a bit rushed and had to vacate our table more or less as soon as we’d finished eating.

One of the best pubs in Porthleven. Food and drink always reasonably priced. Today we nipped in for the Sunday lunch which was beautiful. The staff are very helpful and friendly and I would highly recommend this pup.

Good selection of drinks . Menu very good . Great tasting and portions are fantastic . Mixed grill was very good value for money . Really good if you can get the window seat and watch the sun set over the harbour.

Lovely meal tonight. Everything freshly cooked. My onion rings were to die for... Such light batter. Cannot praise the staff highly enough.. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Highly recommend the Atlantic Porthleven

Came here on some recommendations. So glad we did. The food we had was outstanding. We hadn’t made a reservation but were shown to a table straight away. Service was very good. I had a lovely meal of chicken wrapped in bacon with new potatoes and my husband had the sirloin steak. I have to say my meal was so delicious. I couldn’t eat it all but I really wanted to. My husbands steak, which I tasted was cooked to perfection. Recommend you give it a try.

We just earlier today stopped off here to have a spot lunch . It was just what we were looking for and the food was delicious great value for money and the presentation and quality was outstanding I learnt the Manager was from our neck of the woods from Cheshire and was a fantastic host Very friendly helpfull and made a great fuss of our KCS dog This is a very friendly dog friendly pub and hosts great hospitality and would highly recommend this for its food location and hospitality Down to earth people offering great food and drinks . Outstanding Customer Service ! I rate this 10/10 and a paw high 5 from our dog 🐶 🥂👌🌟🐾

Wonderful Sunday roast and coffee on terrace with amazing views

We’ve been coming to Porthleven for years and we’ve watched the place change, but thankfully the Atlantic never fails to deliver. Good beer, good food, the pub is grounded and warm. Stretch your legs and walk up from the harbour.

Four of us enjoyed the great food at The Atlantic. We were very well looked after by the landlady and found the pub to be better value than some of the other inns nearby.

Was good but I hit my head on the ceiling. Not their fault, nothing they can do about it but I'm now 6 inches shorter.

Great Sunday lunch. Done most places in the area and this was a fab Sunday lunch for the money. Good quality, great service and felt very welcomed.

Took family there today for lunch and was very satisfied. Food excellent, plenty of it and very reasonable price. Service very good and wide choice of drinks and real ales. Only under new management recently so well done. As locals, we will be back soon.

Fantastic food, good prices, friendly staff, dogs welcome and given treats. Our service was spot on. No long wait for meals. Veg lasagne is definitely worth trying. Mixed grill was huge. Presentation of food really good. Would 100% recommend visiting.

A little way out of the harbour but worth the couple of minutes walk. Great food and atmosphere.

Eaten here a few times , lovely pub food very good ,staff very friendly which l like , had a small problem in the kitchen which resulted in a longer wait than normal,but kept us updated, and gave us complementy drinks ,would visit again soon l hope 👍👍

When in Porthleven... but unfortunately there was a problem with the beer pump, so equally appropriately I had a Sharps Atlantic. Very nice pint served by a cheerful, friendly lady. Good view from here too.

Occassionally pop in for a hot chocolate. Staff are polite food is ok average. Quite pricey but competative on the whole. Gets very busy at times and packed out. Good for most ages. children are welcome. Can get noisy. Live music is played .Best to go when empty as long waits. Magical views nearby. Popular with tourists.

I can honestly say I was blown away by this hidden gem! Just a short walk up from the harbour, with a friendly welcome, we all thought the food was amazing, well presented and great value. Apparently it’s just been taken over and if this is their first week I can’t wait to see what it’s like in August when we return! It was very busy when we were there and the team weren’t fazed a bit! Highly recommended.

Very busy Six Nations Saturday, bar packed, TV on, great atmosphere. Four of us ate ‘in the back’ restaurant area. Substantial portions of tasty, unpretentious food, delivered in a very reasonable time and friendly manner. This is a dog friendly pub where ours were welcomed. Nice big sign politely asking customers to please keep their dogs off the furniture, which is fair. Treats were offered too. Will return.

Whilst not "pretty" this locals' freehouse pub is located in an elevated hillside position with wonderful harbour and village views. Popped in for a pint of well kept real ale. Featured in the Good Pub Guide and descibed as a friendly buzzy pub in a great setting above the harbour. Log fire and doggy friendly. Simple and unpretentious. Friendly and engaging bar lady. They provide a popular Sunday roast I am told and need to book early to avoid disappointment. 🇬🇧🇳🇿

Beautiful Sunday roast, piping hot, delicious selection of vegetables, melt in your mouth meat selection, gravy was excellent. Great value for money. Cracking waitress fiona, full of smiles and pleasantries.

Arr, let me tell ye a tale of the Atlantic Inn in Porthleven, me heartie! I be havin' meself a proper jolly time there on Christmas Eve Eve, and it be a place I've frequented more times than a seagull dips in the sea. The Atlantic Inn, she be like a treasure chest of good times, aye. The music on Christmas Eve Eve – I tell ye, it be better than a chorus of mermaids serenadin' the moon. Had me tappin' me peg leg and swingin' me tankard like a true buccaneer. This place, it be more familiar to me than me own ship. I've navigated these ale-soaked waters more times than I've said "ahoy." It's like comin' home to a cozy cove after a day of high-seas adventures. The atmosphere, matey, it be as warm as a Cornish pasty fresh out of the oven. The locals, they be chattin' away like seagulls gossipin' about the day's catch. The staff, they be friendlier than a pod of dolphins escortin' a ship into harbor. And the grog – oh, the grog! They be pourin' pints of joy that make ye feel like ye've found the fabled Fountain of Ale. I've hoisted many a tankard in that fine establishment, and each time it be a celebration fit for a pirate captain. Now, the Atlantic Inn, it be a place where the laughter flows like rum and the memories be as rich as a ship's hold filled with plunder. It's a proper Cornish haven, and I'd give it more gold doubloons than I've buried in me secret treasure chest. So, if ye find yerself in Porthleven and crave a rollickin' good time, set a course for the Atlantic Inn. It be a legendary spot, and mark me words, ye won't be leavin' disappointed. Aye aye, Captain's honor!

Quite chilly in here. Lunchtime Sunday with three customers before we got there. Roast dinners were being eaten and they looked quite tasty. Friendly enough staff.

Went there for Sunday lunch on 26-11-23, and it was amazing. Great atmosphere with a brilliant live band , service was second to none.

It’s a very nice pub. No Thai food anymore though.

Just had a wonderful meal at Langley’s restaurant at The Atlantic Inn. One Cornish Burger and one gammon, pineapple, mushrooms, peas and chips. Really good food and drinks- great prices. Will definitely be eating and drinking here again. Fantastic staff. Great ambience! Well done a cracking pub

We have been before but a few years ago. The Atlantic is the bet pub in Pothleven with a great atmosphere and well kept good value beer. It was at least a pound a pint cheaper than the pubs on the harbour side. A great "locals" pub with live music and sea views. We will be back.

The food was fantastic. Even better thank before. We’ve been coming here for years and this is consistently one of the best and most friendly places in Porthleven. This time we hade Mussels, Octopus, Fish and chips and a crab pasta dish. All absolutely fantastic.

We went as a part of ten to eat and drink. The fantastic staff couldn't do enough for us. The food was delicious. I ordered the large battered hake and was given the extra large for no extra charge. Everything was perfect. We had such a great night. Thank you to you all x

Girl behind bar very friendly. Chips were good. However the rest of the food (fish salad and hake batter) was not very lack lustre. The hake batter was rubbery. Complained to the server but he did not seem to be bothered

A magnificent meal in an underused pub. People need to know about how good this pub is for food, beer and friendliness. Where else could you find at least 6 different types of fresh fish on the menu for very reasonable prices. It has tremendous views across the harbour and is dog friendly. It is situated across the harbour opposite the Ship Inn. Do yourself a favour and visit for a lovely home cooked meal.

The best hospitality in Porthleven! The new owners are so friendly (as were the old owners) but these guys go the extra mile to ensure their customers are happy. Dawn, Steve and their daughter Alex provide a personal service to ensure everyone enjoys their visit

Had read good reviews of this place but food we ordered was absolutely awful. I had the burger and my husband had the scampi. Burger was comparable to something you would buy from a value selection in a supermarket the chips were frozen and so overbooked they were dry and inedible. The scampi was greasy and mushy. Will not go back.

Lovely pub in great position above the town. Great outdoor seating with glimpses of the sea far below. Everyone was really friendly, with lots going on like quiz night & open mic etc. Food is tasty (esp due to link with local fisherman) but quite a limited menu

From sea to plate the freshness of the fish today was stunning. Four of us ate Dover Sole, Rock Salmon, Megram Sole and Monkfish scampi all freshly cooked and served just the way we asked. We even met the fishmonger who supplied the fish. Desserts were knickerbocker Glories and Banana Splits and really tasty. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

We stay on holiday often near here and sometimes go to this pub as it is in walking distance from where we stay,a local told us it is not tourist friendly so if you are local fine,but my family always find it a bit frosty !

Excellent pub, lovely atmosphere and good beers. An unbeatable view over the bay.

Great choice of food for kids and fantastic ice creams. They did an Easter special - half an Easter Egg filled with ice cream, sprinkles and four different sauces - boys very happy 😊! Run by a friendly couple who were great with the boys and allowed them to play a few games of pool. He is also a local fishmonger so freshly prepared fish on the menu - yum! We will definitely be back next time we are in Porthleven.

Whats happened to Atlantic,original owners have left! Unfortunately, new folk ,sad to say appears,to have no interest in the pub,no food,no atmosphere, no warm happy welcome,always loved Atlantic on our numerous holiday visits to Porthleven nowadays that's not the case 😢

The pub itself, I would say , is very much a "locals" pub . Nothing wrong with that in the slightest. My partner and I were initially treated with warmth by an almost exclusively partisan clientele. Most of which I felt embraced us with affection (I'm quite gregarious and honest) and humour . Things turned a bit sour , when a certain individual took it upon himself to be offensive , disrespectful and rude to my partner. We had shown him no reason for such insulting and degrading behaviour . We left soon after . It was the first day of our holiday in Porthleven. Thankfully , it was a "one off" , and probably not a true reflection of The Atlantic, which I'd visited before , and had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon listening to live music. But be warned folks .......not all "emetts" are received with warmth .

Beautiful food, lovely staff. My husband and I have eaten here a few times. This time we were with friends and all really enjoyed our evening.

We visited this pub on a Sunday evening, there was live music, we sat outside in the sunshine and watched the sunset. Amazing sea views. We both had the fish pie which was delicious. We were staying in a nearby Airbnb and had walked past this pub a few times going down into the town. We only went in on our last night but it was so good we wish we had visited before.
