The best restaurants in Porthleven and Helston South Cornwall, Isles of Scilly South West

Popped in for breakfast this morning, coffee excellent, teacake superb, granola and yoghurt with fruit incredibly generous, toast perfect. We will be back. Thankyou.

3 of us had a different bagel for lunch and we all thought they were amazing, only wish we’d found them earlier on our hols!!

Visited in July and again at the end of September. Had the curry box and the wife had the Buddha box Both times a really good mix of flavours in each . Will definitely be back next time we are down in Cornwall

One of my favourite restaurants. Really enjoyed our meal. Hake with anchovy worked well and loved the chocolate orangey pudding. Partner had duck which he enjoyed too. We are trying to eat more plant stuff along the Tim Spector advice so probably eating out less these days. Service was efficient and warm

What a fabulous hidden gem! Food was so tasty and served really quickly and massive portions… it’s a shame we’re leaving for home today as would absolutely eat here again and again! Everything on the menu sounds delicious. I had nachos with pulled pork and my partner had the nacho burger. 10/10 🥰

Staying on the Lizzard for New Year we visited this cafe twice in one week. A lovely warm welcome from the ladies running the cafe, friendly service and nice toasties. On New Year’s Day it was breakfasts only, so we had brunch. Great value and nicely cooked. Excellent as always when we visit

This evening I waited in the freezing cold outside the shop waiting for them to open as indicated on their website. The lights were on and there was a woman and man inside but neither indicated that they were not opening at 4.30 as advertised. There was nothing on the door or window to say they would not be opening either! Eventually, they said something from inside the shop which I assume was to say they were not opening. Needless to say, they won't be getting my custom when they do open!!

Brilliant venue for breakfast. Staff very helpful with gluten free vegan options. Excellent location with a lovely view too!!

We only popped in for drinks but, as soon as we saw the gorgeous cakes on display, we immediately knew we’d be weak and succumb to temptation! So, I had a slice of pistachio and rose sandwich cake with my soya coffee whilst my friend had a slice of cherry and almond Bakewell to accompany her decaf coffee. The coffees were perfect and the cakes, which are homemade, were so moist and utterly delicious. Apparently, this is a family business and we had lovely service from the mum and daughter, as well as a really pleasant and helpful young lad who was waiting on. We couldn't fault Twisted Currant for food, service and prices. Hurrah for the small independent where staff go that extra mile to ensure that they get things right.

Wow ! A lovely meal and plenty of it . Absolutely delicious. And the staff were lovely .. having a laugh and doing their job ! Impressed with porthleven .. friendly staff ! Rare these days

Overpriced for tiny sized drinks, £3.70 for a minuscule latte and very very unfriendly. Croissants nice but again massively overpriced. Caters only for trendy affluent types only.

Had a takeaway pizza whilst on holiday…. OMG! Not just the best pizza ever but the whole experience…. Gorgeous friendly staff, exceptional service, totally affordable & perfect in every way…. These guys have got it right! We loved it! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

End of lockdown, so everywhere was rammed or had huge queues. We waited about 20 mins for this and it was really unusual and absolutely delicious! We had a large Fishermans Basket and dirty fries to share, plenty of food for two.
