Great little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly, fun staff with excellent quality food. Gets busy so reserve a table if you can.

Wanted crab sandwiches before we went home Sat in the secret garden at the back Ordered 2 crab sandwiches and a coronation chicken ciabatta And 3 lattes Lots on the plate lovely salad and coleslaw The crab sandwich was full of lovely white meat For £53.23 well worth the money

Disappointed we ordered crab sandwiches The sandwiches were made with margarine not mayonnaise. Also the young lad clearing tables and delivering some of the food we noticed that his clothes and shoes were filthy. I understand that you have recently invested in a new sign, I might suggest having run a catering business ourselves that you provide your staff with at least basic sign written T-shirts and clean workwear especially in a catering environment. It is very confusing when you enter and you are asked by someone who is not behind the counter and also has no staff identification asking if they can help.

Friendly place with lovely food. Recommend the bubble & squeak, and creamy garlic mushrooms. Lovely Cornish grown tea selection too.

We enjoyed the Seafood Chowder and the Creamy Mushrooms, both incredible and such large portions! The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our lunch in the Hidden Garden which was beautiful, quiet and sunny - perfect for a break from the bustle of Porthleven

A lovely little place with friendly staff, excellent breakfasts, great service and the best mocha in Porthleven (I drink a lot of mocha!) Our 'must visit' place during our annual holiday. See you next year everyone. x

I saw a recommendation on FB and thought we'd give it a try. It does have limited seating but worth the wait. Lovely, quirky decor, a typical English tearoom, very clean and tidy. Service was a little slow but they were busy and short staffed and to be honest we weren't in a hurry. Everything was freshly prepared and very tasty. The ciabatta was so soft and lovely and the fillings fresh. Certainly left feeling full.

I paid £18 for a full breakfast with a coffee. It was nice but way too expensive. Then a few days later I went back again just for a bacon sandwich. The bacon was hard. Think they cooked it and just kept it warm. They gave my 15% off but it shouldn’t have been served like that in the first instance. Bacon needs to be cooked fresh and straight onto sandwich. It’s a nice cafe and staff very pleasant but let themselves down whoever is cooking.

We were staying at the Artist Loft for a couple of nights, so this was the perfect location for breakfast. A very good choice of food. I had the avocado on toast with poached eggs plus an extra of smoked salmon which was absolutely delicious. My husband gave the Full English breakfast a thumbs up. Coffee was good. Staff efficient and friendly. Highly recommended.

I’d never been to Porthleven, we were staying in Mullion on holiday and just wanted to find somewhere for a cream tea. I emailed ahead to check if cafe was dog friendly and I got a reply within an hour to stay it was, so we headed there around lunchtime. Welcomed as soon as you walk through the door. Gorgeous little tea room with bench seating around the room and a lovely amount of space between the tables. Dog happily chilled under the table whilst we scoffed our delicious treats. We’d order a mix of cheese scones and chocolate scones. The cheese came with a pot of cream cheese and onion chutney. The chocolate scones were the best I’d ever had and came with chocolate spread and clotted cream. Both served warm - absolutely delicious. The whole experience was faultless. The beautiful menus gave details of some lovely sandwiches and the cakes on display looked a delight. Porthleven is also well worth an explore. The harbour walls are an amazing sight to behold. We are regular visitors to Cornwall and will certainly be back to Twisted Currant.

We have visited the twisted currant off and on for several years, it is a cosy little tea room with a good selection of fresh cakes warm scones and cornish tea. Close to the harbour.

Just returned from a late lunch with a friend. Omg,it was delicious. I had a ciabatta sandwich,brie,bacon and cranberry and it was to die for. Certainly not skimpy with the filling and it came with a small salad and 2 coleslaw...was ansum! My friend had a coronation chicken ciabatta and that was lovely also. Lovely staff and will definitely be coming back!

My wife and I called in on a very wet Sunday for a little lunch. The staff were welcoming and the general atmosphere friendly. The menu was not extensive but more than enough for a cafe. My wife chose a Coronation Chicken Ciabatta and I had the Fish Chowder with Garlic bread. Both were freshly prepared, very enjoyable and not overpriced.

Great Brunch, Great selection of cakes and fab service. Would defo recommend!! These guys cater very well for Vegans and Gluten/dietary intolerances, a must if in Porthleven.

We visited the Twisted Currant for Afternoon Tea. We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children and we were all catered for wonderfully. I am coeliac and my gluten free Afternoon Tea was one of the best I've had. The children's Afternoon Tea was perfect for them, 3 different sandwiches plus a chocolate cupcake and chocolate brownie. We had extra sandwiches made for the children as they ate all theirs and wanted more. My gluten free afternoon tea had the same sandwiches as my husband's non-gf version just on gluten free bread. We had the same cakes which were all gf (pecan and banana cake, Victoria sponge and chocolate brownie. We then all had scones with clotted cream and jam. My gf one was the best gf scone I've ever had, it had a lovely rise. The service was great and the tea room was lovely after a stroll round Porthleven Harbour. Highly recommended.

We came to Twisted Currant for afternoon tea on 8th January for my Mum’s birthday and I have to say, both food and service were fantastic. We had two standard afternoon teas and one vegan. The offerings for both were incredible. Delicious sandwich selection, fabulous homemade cakes and delicious warm scones with a choice of plain, fruit and chocolate with a good choice of jams too. Service was attentive and friendly, surroundings were cosy and comfy. Very impressed and we will be back! Thank you Twisted Currant.

We visited the Twisted Currant twice while staying in Porthleven for the weekend and both times we were very impressed. The service, food and ambience are first class. The full English breakfast is one of the best we've had. Highly recommend the delicious cakes too!

A sweet little cafe that we hadn’t visited before, and we gave it a go for breakfast. Advertised at £10.50, I expected more to be honest. It took a long time to arrive, but they warn you of that if it’s busy. They also inform you that the food is cooked to order, but the hard piece of bacon and solid egg hinted otherwise. When it arrived, there was one each of sausage, bacon and egg. A small pot of beans, portion of mushrooms and two hash browns. One slice of (cold) toast. It tasted ok, but was just a tiny breakfast for the cost. I have had better breakfasts from the other cafes in town. For two people, the breakfasts, coffee and a takeaway small portion of cake was £30.20! Incredible! The lady who served us was lovely, the decor nice, and short term parking outside, just not worth the money, sorry 😞

Great service, super food, fairly priced but most importantly fo us the whole menu can be gluten free including full English, and of the sandwiches and rolls and even the Cream Tea...put a real smile on my wife's face...as so many places have very limited GF options...thoroughly recommend

Visited this cafe 3 times for breakfast when stopping in Porthleven last week. Had scrambled egg on toast which was delicious, as was the breakfast bap which was loaded with high quality egg,bacon and sausage. Also had the banana waffles with clotted cream which were amazing We also had the afternoon cream tea which was superb. Very filling though, so we took away the scones in a doggy bag for later This cafe is also very dog friendly and our Jack Russell was made very welcome One of the best cafes we have ever eaten at

Nice cafe, but £10 breakfast spoilt by over-cooked food and mean portions. Food crammed onto very small plate, to make the portions appear larger. Cold mushrooms, small slice of burned toast, over-cooked egg. Such a shame.

Visited in September 2023 for lunch. The service was good. I had the American breakfast which was a special that day and my partner had the hummus and salad flat bread. Both were really tasty and promptly served.

The food was excellent and the staff were quick and attentive. They allowed us in, complete with small dog and and baby in a pram. A great place to have a family lunch.
