Back again for a wonderful big breakfast. Really tasty good quality ingredients. The vegetarians were happy too. Dog friendly too

Cracking breakfast, friendly staff. Happy to have dogs in. Food looked great and tasted great. Good produce and cooked well. For what you get the prices are more than fair. So good I’m going back tomorrow!

We were at first reluctant as waterfront venues can often be a disappointment. Not so here. A simple and unpretentious café offering excellent crab sandwiches and soup, a bit different crab and tomato soup. Two further soups of the day. All home made. Doggy friendly or rather Battersea Dogs' Home.🇬🇧🇳🇿

Very friendly service and good value food. I had ham, eggs and chips and it was delicious. Also good views. Highly recommended

This humble little cafe is a great find. Friendly staff and incredibly good value quality food. As a resident of Cornwall it’s nice to find somewhere that offers such great value for money in a fabulous location.

We went here having read the reviews and glad we did. Was very busy on a cold and windy day which is a good sign. Excellent crab sandwiches, made without mayo on request, plus good bacon baps. Reasonable prices, good service and a wide menu. The plated breakfasts looked great too. Give it a try.

Away for a week staying in Porthleven and went to the cafe 3 times! I will say didn’t think it would be our normal place to eat but super views! Seating inside and out. Value for money. All day breakfast. (My husband was very happy with runny fried eggs! Wonderful bread for sandwiches and toasties. Tasty soup Hot coffee Good choice on menu! Friendly staff Quick service! Definitely a good all rounded place for good food. Must be so good as I ate quickly and just looked and didn’t take any pictures so a good sign!

As always a lovely warm welcome. I ordered the crab sandwiches with extra avocado and changed the chunky chips to sweet potato fries. You get a glass of lovely icy cold fizz with the special offer. Everything was absolutely delicious. The granary bread was so soft and tasty and the crab was plentiful and melt in the mouth. I also particularly loved the salad dressing. My husband had the afternoon tea and thoroughly enjoyed it too. We have never been disappointed with anything we've eaten here over the years and always look forward to revisiting. Popped in here today, it's always a really nice place....with traditional cafe vibes and great views over the harbour. I noticed the roast veg soup and opted for this, whilst our youngest had some very nice thick crispy chips. The soup was very tasty indeed and came with two chunks of delicious granary bloomer. Thanks as always a great place to eat with friendly, happy staff.

After a swim feeling hungry, ordered a Crab sandwich. it was costly, but very delicious, nice white bread and very tasty crab - loved it.

Lovely cafe with outdoor and indoor seating pretty decor too. Ordered coffees which were lovely and hot not luckwarm like some establishments. The bap was really lovely as was the carrot cake. The staff are friendly and efficient . We live fairly nearby so will enjoy more visits.

This morning i went to check out the breakfast expperience at this place, but was left bitterfy disapoointed as how little you get for £8.20 I ordered the vegan breakfast but it was nothing short of a joke. I piece of thin toast cut into two seperate triangle slices. 1 tiny mushroom which was rubbish. Baked beans which cost nothing took up over half the plate. There were two tinty veggie seasuages worth no more than 40p together, 1 has brown, and that was it.... It was trully a joke of a experience Such a rip off... ***AVOID THIS PLACE***

We were so impressed with the so-called 'small breakfast' on our first visit that we came again the next day (our last in Cornwall in 2022). Pleasant service and tasty food that had clearly been cooked with attention to detail. We'll be back.

Always a good choice for breakfast or lunch. Haven’t had a cream tea on this trip but in previous years it was great too. Veggie, vegan and gluten-free options available.

We were attracted by the wide choice of gluten free options, almost everything on the menu was gf or could easily be made gf. The food is very unpretentious, certainly not greasy spoon but traditional English fare with added classier options, crab, smoked salmon avocado...

Went in on the off chance for lunch - dog friendly. The food was freshly cooked and served by a lovely team. The crab sandwiches were delicious (generous portions) as was the homemade soup. Chips were chunky, hot and moreish.

I had a fish finger sandwich which had the cheapest and smallest fish fingers in it, very disappointing. Followed by a luke warm mocha coffee. Not one of the waitresses was friendly or approachable. Needless to say it wasn't an enjoyable experience and I wouldn't go back. The best bit about this place is the view over the harbour.

This cafe is brilliant - lots of milk alternatives which is amazing as I managed to have a hazelnut latte - veggie breakfast delicious and really reasonably priced. We went in for a fry up before beginning the long drive home and the breakfasts were great. Good options for vegans and vegetarians including breakfasts baps.

Stopped for scone cream tea and drink. Reasonable priced but scone was very dry and got no sugar with drinks!! Dogs are allowed and there’s seating outside

We sat outside as we had our dog with us. Water and a biscuit treat was available for her. Delicious lunch - my husband had scampi and chips and I had the fish finger sandwich with side salad and chips plus a can of cola each. Great value for money and friendly staff. Food arrived promptly and was nice and hot. Definitely worth a visit.

On our last day in Porthleven we wanted a good breakfast before a long drive home. This fabulous little cafe completely delivered, the food was sensational, quality ingredients at a very reasonable price. The staff were friendly and attentive. It certainly set us up for the day. Excellent place for lunch outside in the sun . Crab sandwiches with a glass of fizz where just the tonic we needed after lockdown. The sandwiches were very generously filled and served with chips plus a very fresh salad . The young waitresses were so friendly - made our day ! Thoroughly recommended .

This cafe is fantastic, great food and the price is good value for money. The staff clean the tables and chairs between customer, so very COVID aware.My other half had a freshly made crab sandwich - the bread was perfect and lots of filling. I had the all day cooked breakfast, which was hot and served with toast. Service was quick and friendly. It was so good on the Tuesday we went back on the Friday and had the same meals again. I would definitely recommend this cafe.

The cafe looks unassuming from the outside but the food is really good and the price cheaper than the pub next door.I had a freshly made crab sandwich - the bread was perfect and lots of filling. My husband had the all day cooked breakfast and was delighted to find it included fried bread which you don't often get now days. Service was quick and friendly. I would definately recommend this cafe.

We popped in here for a late breakfast and to escape the squally showers the late morning was throwing our way.Two cooked breakfast and one cheesy chips came in good time, tasty and filling...what more do you need.Nice views over the harbour, very pleasant staff and good covid measures in place.

We have visited the Harbour View before and have always had a great meal so expected another good experience and we were not dissapointed. Really impressed with the Covid precautions including hand sanitizing, track and trace and temperature check.So now to the food, being fed up with chips with everything I ordered poached eggs and smoked salmon on toast, may not sound exciting but perfectly poached eggs and smoked salmon is dlightful. My wife ordered a crab sandwich, again spot on really fresh white crab meat on lovely granary bread.The staff and level of service is exceptional and the cost is very reasonable. If you are visiting Porthleven give the Harbour View a visit, bet you go back.

Lovely cup of coffee and a tasty toasted teacake. All very safe...temperature taken when we arrived. Sanitizer provided. Was empty when we arrived but soon got busier. Contactless payment. Will return again soon.

In our 2 weeks in Porthleven we must have visited 6 or 7 times on our first visit when asked if our crab sandwich was o k i replied it was for me but my wife preferred tuna, no problem ask for half and half .on our visit the following days greeted with nice to see you usual half & half and two cappuccino I would recommend for light meal & good value thank you Graham & Philippa

Only a small cafe, but so friendly. Tables outside where you can watch the local fisherman clean and sell local fish from his cabin. If the weather breaks, you’re invited to eat inside, but harbourside is best.many thanks Can confidently say the fresh crab and soft bread sandwiches are outstanding - and great value for money.

Very good Mega Breakfast - it was mega in size and no quality issues. Eggs with salmon didn’t incl. hollandaise sauce which is weird. You have to order inside and pay. Would be better if order is taken at the table especially due to coronavirus On a nice sunny day, nice to see close to the harbour - but absolutely no shade

Great position on the harbour. Well managed with COVID restrictions. Varied menu. Thoroughly recommend all day breakfast well cooked local produce and lovely thick bread. Visiting worth a visit.

popped in for a coffee, ordered and paid only to be told we couldn't use the toilets, there are toilets in the cafe but not in use. Feel people are using covid as an excuse. Apparently there was a sign to say toilets not in use but we didn't see this before ordering. If we had seen the sign we would have taken our business elsewhere.

Had lunch here with the family whilst on holiday. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Delicious fry up and cream tea and the kids meals were very good too and reasonably priced!

We came to this cafe on holiday as a group of 10 and were able to get two tables without booking or waiting. We had lovely freshly made scones and sandwiches which were served very efficiently. They also offer many gluten free options (bread, scones and cakes) and a great view!

Visited today, looking forward to a cream tea, after a long coastal walk. Ridiculously miserable girl behind the counter, who wouldn't smile, nor make eye contact. Ordered 3 cream teas. They arrived with an even more surley member of staff. Crumbly microwaved scones, cheap nasty catering jam + barely a scrape of clotted cream. It was terrible. No smiles, no welcome, rubbish pot of tea + staff morale of a sinking ship!!

Enjoyed a beautiful cream tea at Porthleven Harbour view cafe today. Scones were gorgeous and warm , lots of jam and clotted cream and was a highlight of the day. Just a comment... we had 2 cups of tea,.. whereas another family of 4 got 2 x pots of tea ... a second cup would have been great from a tea pot! Just a comment, not a complaint but a build for the future .?

I reviewed a crab sandwich in Norfolk a few years back that was acclaimed to be the best crab sandwich ever. I regret to inform those people that 'I' in fact ate the best crab sandwich ever today on the keyside. Hopefully there will be more almost as good as this one for other people to try in the future.I had the crab sandwich (to go), and a lovely chat with the friendly staff, it was awesome.No wonder Rick Stien had closed down next door, he had no chance.The only thing that slightly marred the experience was my own children annoying me to go to the beach while I was trying to eat it.I will definitely return (without my children) for another sandwich almost as good as this one, with a glass of white and enjoy the amazing view.

Very friendly service. Cafe was clean and tidy and offered a friendly place to shelter from the wind and the rain. The cream tea was substantial and the panini was very tasty with a lovely salad accompaniment. The coffee was top notch and in spite of the rain it offered a great view of the harbour.

My husband and myself had an excellent lunch. I had potato and leek soup and scrumptious crusty granary bread and my husband had the crab sandwich. Both were excellent. Will definitely return.

We have been there three days running ,they make the best mug of tea! Today we had brunch, toastie and chips, full breakfast, all really nice. The staff are friendly and efficient, our whippet loves it there and goes straight to the dog biscuit jar.Can’t fault it!

Highly recommendable cafe, I chose a crab sandwich in granary bread with chunky chips and salad. Quality ingredients and generous portions, the boss had leek and potato soup with granary bread. The bread was very fresh,crusty and moist and soup delicious. We will return on our next visit to Porthleven.

I stopped here after cycling down from st ives. I had two hours to kill before a workshop and it was raining. I had several cups of various herbal teas and a delicious courgette and avocado cake (I bought it for the novelty and was pleasantly surprised).The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming and has lovely views across the harbour.I didn't have lunch but they had LOTS of gluten free and vegetarian friendly options. I would definitely return if I was in the area longer.

Consistently excellent. Have tried scones (lovely and warm), lunches (the crab special is a must!) amazing breakfasts, lovely teas coffees beers wines the list is endless! Quality of food is top class. Warm welcome every time-also brilliant with children. Price great for quality of produce. We have tried several other eateries in Porthleven (even the big named establishments where a small meal for 2 has cost in excess of £50 excluding drinks) but we will always recommend the Harbour View Cafe. We look forward to returning soon. Thank you to all staff.

My wife and I wanted a light lunch. The crab sandwich was excellent and the deal with a glass of Prosecco was good value. Great to sit outside in the sunshine last month.

Had breakfast twice now . What can i say the breakfast is top notch it’s that good when we come from birmingham every year we all make a pit stop for this place truly lovely place & a real gem

The staff are really friendly and welcoming making each visit a pleasure. The menu is surprisingly extensive with some great options for breakfast (served all day) from try up to patched eggs with smoked salmon and avocado on toast, all freshly cooked. Compared to other places in Porthleven the Harbour View is very reasonably priced. Ideal place for dog lovers.

After a lovely walk along the coastal path, we spent a couple of hours in Porthleven, taking lunch in the sunshine at the Harbour View Cafe.

We had walked past the cafe during our weeks stay in Porthleven and decided that on our last day we would come for breakfast. Unfortunately it was raining so sat inside, but still had the view of the harbour. My husband had the full english and I had bacon and egg sandwich. The mugs of tea came quickly and the food soon followed. The bread was lovely and soft, and the rest of the food was good. Sorry to leave but maybe will come back again one day.

Dropped in for breakfast on Sunday morning with family and friends. Went for the full works, and it was amazing. Tasty and perfectly cooked, and reasonable prices too. Add to that, sitting right on the quayside, can only be described as the perfect breakfast
