Back after one year for another family birthday and Dickies didnât disappoint. Great nibbles to start, excellent mains and delicious pudding. As good as it was before and no more expensive. Polite, helpful and pleasant service, excellent food, good choice of drinks. Definitely coming again next year!

Chloe was the best waitress ever strongly recommended a brunch with her serving. :-) bottomless brunch only applies to 1 meal

Food and service were excellent. The roasts we had were delicious with a great selection of vegetables. We're both shielding & felt very safe. Great attention to covid protection measures - plenty of distance between tables, use of handgel etc. Staff wore shields, but still maintained a friendly and helpful manner Will definitely book again.

I recently visited this pub and was thoroughly impressed! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax with friends. Lizzy, who served us, went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. She was attentive, friendly, and even treated my friend's dog with a little snackâsuch a thoughtful touch. The food was exceptional. I had the Mac and cheese, which was absolutely delicious with a perfectly cheesy top. My friend ordered the BBQ burnt ends Texan burger, which looked incredibly juicy and was a hit. The drinks were also reasonably priced, making it even better value for money. I highly recommend this pub for its great service, food, and atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

Velo is my usual favorite brunch spot, however I must say, I left feeling quite underwhelmed following a recent visit. The new menu is limited and lacks the creativity that once made this place special. Gone are the delightful Turkish eggs and the avocado toast, replaced by uninspired options. I tried the new Reuben bagel, but it was bland and tasteless and without meat unless you add it as an option- definitely not what I was hoping for. Itâs such a shame because I used to really enjoy dining here, but the experience has become increasingly hit or miss. On a positive note, the coffee remains excellent, which is one saving grace. I hope they reconsider the menu and portion sizes soon and bring back the dishes that made this place a fab.

It was my Mumâs 80th birthday the day before & I wanted to treat her with an afternoon tea just the 2 of us. I had booked a few days prior but when we turned up the receptionist looked surprised to see us. We were shown into the bar area & a 3 tier cream tea was plonked down in front of us, not explanation of what was in the finger sandwiches or what any of the sweet stuff was, I ordered a cappuccino which unfortunately was barely luke warm. When the staff finally popped back in we ordered 2 latte which were lovely & asked what food weâd been given, unfortunately she had no idea what was in 3 little glasses but guessed at a panne cotta, this seriously needs looking at because of people with allergies & the staff have no clue on what theyâre serving! The 2 scones were cold, dry & not enjoyable, food was left as it just wasnât up to scratch. Even though I purchased this cream tea through Wowcher at a discounted price it was a real disappointment & we wonât return & donât recommend. Such a shame such a special day was ruined ! Absolutely no care or service!

We didnât actually plan to come here but everything seemed to have shut early on a Monday evening and at only other option we couldnât park anywhere. So weâre grateful to find this on route home. Thought would be good as said all cooked fresh to order and also bonus as halal . Initially didnât want to accept the order as very busy but I was happy to wait as I did not really want services food . But it was not worth the 25 minutes wait at all . The cod was tiny and batter had an odd taste . The spicy wings were tasteless and rubbery. And the jumbo battered sausage was standard size and not particularly nice either. Iâm afraid I cannot recommend this place at all . It was very disappointing. Better fish and chips at home in

We come here quite alot as the fro yo is quite good normally. However, this month there was a new member of staff who I think normally works on Thursday evenings and they were not like all the other staff, they were rude and unenthusiastic. They also tried to charge us extra for what we normally get, a sanum. I asked for strawberries on mine as one of the fruit and we said they look a bit off and if they had anymore, she said no, in a very stern way and continued to put the strawberries on. Whilst eating we discovered the strawberries were mouldy and i had been eating mouldy food, I felt so sick

You cannot beat the food and service given by Debbie and Kev at Schooners Cafe. The food is high quality, non greasy, beautifully presented and always cooked to perfection. The customer service is amazing. Debbie is so kind, attentive, warm and friendly. â€ïž If we could give more stars, we would. We visit here every trip to Southbourne/Christchurch. Amazing! X
