Contiunes to be my go-to café for breakfast, after the morning dog walk. . A very welcoming place. Good food ( with daily specials), great value, great staff. It is a fantastic setting, with the terrace overlooking the bowling green and the sea. Fully recommended.

We just happened to see a sign saying to the bowling club with the tea cup symbol. It is a truly wonderful place. The food is great (could you get a better lunch ANYWHERE in Bournemouth?) and the staff so cheerful. And you might get to relax and watch a game as well.

Wonderful staff and service in a bowls club café. Food is freshly prepared, tasty and served with care. We visit regularly and love the friendly atmosphere, and the great food (generous portions!). Sunday lunches are excellent, as were the Christmas lunches last year!

Been visiting cafe for a few weeks now on a Friday as it is just across the road from the site I’m working on and can honestly say the breakfast is one of the best around and served by really friendly polite staff. Definitely recommend to give it a try if in the area.

Perfect. Very busy, staff do an incredible job, so please help out by following simple expected routines. Eg, collect your own bottle of soft drink from the fridge for someone to open for you, help yourself to cutlery, sauces, etc. I think it important to leave a tip - the quality and price is only achieved through a kind and efficient, small, team of energetic staff. Thank you for making me welcome, thank you for a lovely place to visit, will come as often as I am in the locale.

A great spot for a relaxed breakfast, tucked away within the Bowling Club building on the West Cliff. Plenty of free parking on the main road opposite (tho obviously you take a chance on hot summer days). Choice of food on offer is astounding, without compromising on quality or portion size. Breakfasts are tasty, and reasonably priced. On a sunny day, great for grabbing a coffee and a slice of cake to watch the bowling matches. Recommended!

First time here for a coffee and cake. First class coffee, nice but naughty cake. A pleasant outside table in the sun watching the bowls. Will definitely come again.

Stopped off here for a coffee and ended up having lunch. It is all good here, the coffee and food is tasty and all served hot very efficiently.

We were lucky enough to get a table for Christmas lunch today and it was excellent. The food was delicious with a choice of starters, mains and desserts and the quality was as good as ever. The staff created a festive atmosphere and the service was very good. This cafe never disappoints in terms of quality, service and value. Highly recommended.

We went with family for the Christmas Lunch menu, which had a good choice of 3 starters, 3 mains, 2 desserts and cheese and biscuits option. Food was very well presented and extremely good quality ingredients and more than we could eat. No room for desserts but coffee was a good finish. Staff were lovely, friendly and cheerful, they worked very hard to look after us. Thank you all and we can certainly whole heartedly recommend Café Argyll.

30 of us went for Christmas lunch at Café Argyll. The food was of top quality served hot and plentiful. The staff and especially Matt the chef worked really hard. The place was full and they are fully booked for Christmas lunches during the week, so that alone says something about the amazing work that they are doing at Café Argyll. A great place to visit, even if it’s just for a cuppa and a toastie or some of Matts millionaire shortbread a great destination cafe in Westbourne.

Excellent breakfast. Both in quality and quality . The breakfast consisted of sausages, bacon, fried eggs, baked beans, and hash brown. There was no shortage of food. This was rounded off with brown toast. To compliment the food the staff were first class

Took my visiting family for lunch. Friendly, engaging staff. Service was prompt and food was very tasty and well presented. We ordered a light lunch but the Specials board offered a selection of hot food which looked delicious. Well worth a visit. We will return!

We visited today after a lovely walk down the beach. The food was amazing lots of choice available as well as delicious cakes for an afternoon bite. There’s a really nice vibe around there with great views and outdoor seating, would highly recommend to anyone.

Lovely cafe with professional and friendly staff. The service was quick and with a smile even though the cafe was very busy. I can recommend the Fish Pie which came with separate veg. The portion was generous and it was one of the best fish pie’s I’ve ever tasted with a good and plentiful variety of fish, a delicious creamy sauce and topped with mashed potato and cheese. Superb!

Eaten here many times, both for breakfast/brunch and lunch. It's proper, decent, wholesome food, it's cooked freshly to order, and the speed and friendliness of service is exceptional. The fact we drive here passing about 5 other establishments says it all - we like what we get, the pricing is fair, and it's a great spot with plenty of free parking. After a long swim, the big breakfast ticks the box. The omelettes are also very tasty. We sometimes come in with a big group of us Beyond the Blue swimmers and they cope with this well - the staff are really efficient and stuff just miraculously appears thanks to all their hard work. Curries, braised steak and onions, cottage pie, and all manner of specials have gone down nicely. Also like that when you order tea you get extra hot water. So many places don't do this anymore! It's also great in terms of accessibility for our members who have mobility issues. Plenty of parking, flat access, no steps, proper tables and chairs. Don't change, Cafe Argyll - you're brilliant!

Nice simple but tasty full English breakfast. Many options available, some served most of the day as well as proper toastiest and homemade cakes. Good strong cuppa tea Clean and friendly service in a large dining space with outdoor seating - a sheltered spot on a sunny day. Traditional hot lunches and Sunday Roasts served, with deserts like steamed pudding and custard- popular with the pensioners. Plenty of room for buggies and wheelchairs etc Quite old fashioned inside- not for the Costa/ Nero/ baby chino crowd but very handy if you don’t mind a steep climb up from the beach at Alum Chine.

I had been here only a couple of times in the past and had a nice experience however I took a visit early Sunday morning to beat the rush and what a joy it was to visit! The staff were superb, the breakfast was fantastic and it was great to see so many different desserts on offer. I had opted for Ice cream today due to the weather but for sure on my next visit, I'll be working my way through the desserts on offer, Kudos goes to the new chef!!! Since my last visit, it seems like there has been a complete revamp as the place is very clean, tidy and all in all an absolute GEM to have come across!! Afraid the same can’t be said for the elderly owner who serves -(previously referred to by other reviewers ). But never mind. I've been to this cafe about half a dozen times for just a cup of tea and it's been fine. However, the two times I've gone in the morning, at breakfast, the service has been hideous.

A friend is organising a group Sunday lunch booking and told me the cafe does dairy and gluten free options. I phoned to check but was told by the same rude and irritable man as last time that they only do a vegetarian lasagne. So again I cannot go. This man is a poor advert for the cafe.

Played bowls here as part of a bowls tour, just wow, what a find, The club is lovely, good greens and what a setting, but even for non-bowlers, get here and try this café. The service is amazing, they served over 50 of us, all kinds of meals, snacks and drinks, very fast indeed, the firm favourite with our crowd was the fish-finger sandwich, not many thought they would be trying that for lunch, they are all raving about it still! I was impressed the chips were home made none of your mass-catering rubbish here, the mushroom omelette was so filling, no idea how many egs, but wow all for under £6. I would return not just to bowls at theis amazing club but to eat at this amazing café!

El café no se encarga de veganos o aquellas personas que tengan o comer lácteos gratis. Tenía que visitar esta cafetería con un grupo grande (40 personas) en diciembre. Le envié un correo electrónico pero como yo no recibió respuesta llamó el café y pedí un plato de queso gratis pasta debido a una condición médica. Me dijeron que no era posible ya que estaban totalmente por 40 - 50 personas y no se podía cambiar el menú. El hombre que hablaba era la mano, desinteresada y sonaba molesto que incluso se atrevió a preguntar. Su actitud solo me animaba así que cancelé mi lugar. Afortunadamente para el café no hay nadie más en la fiesta es vegetariana o lácteos sería contrario gratis cancelar también.

Regularmente por el paseo marítimo pasando los jardines tropicales y han perdido este regalo en la cima del acantilado, hasta ahora. Aconsejado por un amigo, cuatro de nosotros fuimos para el almuerzo en un día de sol caliente. Nos sentamos y tomamos un almuerzo ligero, un enorme sandwich con guarnición de ensalada y una taza de té cada uno. Todo a un precio razonable y la comida cocinada con buena pinta y porciones de buen tamaño. Este lugar está bastante encontrar, usted también puede ver un juego de bolos mientras cena!

Un lugar hermoso y encantador servicio poco! Las mujeres que nos servía era realmente servicial. Lástima de la muerte miradas desde todos los ángulos en nuestros niños. Stopped by to check out the Bowling Green - very welcoming and friendly - the cafe food was excellent - what a surprise to find this little gem - we ended up being their for 3 hours- watched the teams bowling - ate great food - good little locals company and we had our dog ( well behaved) with us as well - popping back again before we leave. Thanks to all for giving us a lovely relaxing few hours.

Always used to take my father here as he's a northerner and they don't charge what he calls 'daft money'! A lovely situation on the cliff top at Alum Chine with a panoramic view of the beach towards the pier and beyond.Simple cafe menu eg. omelettes, jackets, sandwiches with daily specials such as lasagna, navarin of lamb etc. The best chips! Cakes, puddings, afternoon teas. Has a licence. Full of locals who are generally retired people living in the flats around and who come for breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas.Efficient but slightly harassed staff.

Great breakfast cafe. Might look not so hot but the food, service and coffee is great. Oh and don't forget that the prices are very reasonable too! I search the length and breadth of Britain to get scrambled eggs that are not like a piece of leather This is the best outside of a Michelin star restaurant in Yorkshire ! People should travel from Australia to try their eggs.

We changed our venue to this cafe,for our meeting. Not only is it a delightful situation,but our cream tea was delicious. Melt -in -the -mouth warm scone,great cream,no seeds in the jam,and a generous pot of tea,with hot water as well,it was more than equal to a Devon cream tea.

Regular walks along the sea front help you build up an appetite. The ideal place to stop for a breakfast or lunchtime meal is the cafe Argyll on top of the cliff at West Overcliff Drive. Excellent food reasonably priced and served by friendly staff. The menu contains food for all tastes and is always cooked to perfection. There is also a licensed bar if you prefer a drink with your meal. Highly recommend this venue with fantastic views of the bay or watch a bowls match when in season.

Very friendly staff, good range of food to choose from. I went for the lunch option of lamb steak, mash & veg, followed by a plum crumble tart & custard. Both courses were good, but if you're appetite is large I would have a go at the all day big breakfast, it looked excellent and is definitely top of the list for my next visit.

The food is always excellent and very reasonably priced with no screaming children about. A pleasure to visit. My only wish is that the pretty blue checked tablecloths were washed more often - this is the only thing that stops me rating it as five star!

We've visited before for morning coffee and sat outsidd, but this time went for breakfast! What a delight! The 'early bird' was excellent value, freshly cooked, served on hot plates and was delicious! The room is light and spacious, with bright flowers on every table, and the service was excellent!

Booked here as a large group from our Zumba group. £12 for 2 courses, so must admit did not expect a lot. For starter I had tomatoe soup, best ever. It had a great kick too. Then I had salmon which was so tasty. Service was brilliant. The place was packed, probably full of regulars. Now I'm one of them, as I will be taking my husband next time.

This was a café obviously set up to support the work of the Bowling Cluib in Bournemouth. The food was well-priced and delicious, the service was very good and it was clearly a café well-used by the community with many regular customers. I had what was sold as home made tomato soup and it was so like my favourite tinned tomato soup I asked them to confirm it was home made soup which they did. It was a generous helping and was served with 3 pieces of brown bread and butter. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bournemouth. Probably the only thing I was frustrated with was that I am a wheelchair user and although there was an entrance marked automatic door which would have been very useful, there was a table in front of it which meant it could not be used

We found this restaurant quite by accident. It is part of a bowls club but everyone is welcome. It attracts an older crowd and serves old favourites and new. The menue varies but last week we had braised steak and king prawn stir fry. Both excellent well cooked and presented dishes. Never had a bad meal and each time we go we feel in great spirits.

I have visited a few times. The menu is a little limited, but the food has generally been good and is reasonably value. There is some seating outside adjacent to the bowling green.

Excellent location. Friendly staff and good service. Exterior seating on a sunny afternoon a bit limited. Menu quite adequate without being too varied. We live locally and use the cafe quite regularly. We have also dined there for lunch and evening events before now. It is a real asset to the area and well supported by locals and the bowling folk who share the premises.

Went here with some friends for a brunch. Such a nice little cafe set in a bowling green area. Sat outside in the sun with an English breakfast. Lovely ambience and lovely staff who are very friendly. Makes you want to have a go on the bowls too! Definitely will be coming back here again! Little Gem!

I went here with my friends to get something to eat after a walk along the beach! The food is perfect and lush and the staff are so friendly! Then for desert I had ice cream and it's red amazing !! Everyone should eat at this cafe!

Cafe Argyll is located at Argyll Bowls Club on West Overclif Drive, Bournemouth. My wife and I found it by accident whilst exploring the area.What a find. The food is excellent and well priced with decent sized portions. We visited on a busy Saturday lunch time when the cafe was hosting a Valentines Day lunch, the place was full, however the very friendly staff found us a table and served our order very quickly.This no frills cafe has a relaxed atmosphere overlooking a bowling green. It's refreshing to find a place where food quality, value for money and service still means something. There is ample free on road parking.We wholeheartedly recommend a visit, you will not regret it.

After many recommendations, we finally made it to the Argyll last Sunday and what a treat was in store for us.Honestly the nicest baked salmon I have tasted and the cauliflower cheese superb as were all the veg.And at the most reasonable prices to boot.Can't recommend it too highly but you will need to book first.Enjoy

I would prefer not to review Cafe Argyle as I like that it is a lovely little cafe that not many know about (having said that it is always packed when we go there!!!)Just thought however I should write a review as it only has 1 review & we go there so often felt at least another review is deserved to this fantastic secret little gem. The location is perfect & even on a cold winters day,to sit outside can be quite a sun trap. The food is always excellent & excellent value for money. A perfect spot to relax after a lovely beach walk. Enough said - we will definitely be back.

In a bowling green overlooking the sea on Bournemouths West Overcliff Drive this Café is a real hidden gem . The Café serves breakfasts and homemade specials which equal any proper home cooked food ive tasted and the price is not bad either specials start from £5-95 and considering you are overlooking the sea with loads of free parking its a bargain . It is a busy Café as the locals have all found out about it but are keeping it secret I think, it seats about 60 and lunch times all year round are well attended as unlike most authority owned buildings that house Cafes this one opens all year !!! . I recommend it give it a try I have now that ive found it - Book a sunday lunch as its very very good for £6-95 I had 3 courses only £9-95 !!!
