Don't bother with the golf here, a once lovely 18 holes golf course has been reduced to just 9 very average holes by the current owners, whilst all the "newer clubby" things cost a fortune.......trying to bring all the Londoners who have 2nd and 3rd homes here I suspect. Avoid!

Disappointed a lot of the chocolate on sale had gone white and the sales assistant was still trying to sell some to me at an exorbitant price! Unfortunately one box of faded chocolate in the sun I ended up buying by mistake tasted horrible. Sort your stock out please and either reduce or remove from the shelves!!! Not impressed

Every time ive used these guys to stave my hunger theyve delivered 100%. yes you may wate for them to cook as you order but boy is it worth it. The fish batter crisp and good fish. Chips chunky and always piping hot. What's not to like? Having been to there Clifton competitor, these guys knock spots off them.

As some one who grew up enjoying real Cornish Pasties in the county, it has been hard to find good examples over the last twenty years. This business claims to be the oldest Cornish Pasty maker in the world. The odd one I have eaten from Warrens over the years, the most recent this year have progressively gone down in authenticity and up in price. If you are a tourist experiencing this shops pasties for the first time, or have been eating them ten years or less, they can barely be described as a Cornish Pasty. They are small, lack taste and are sold for top dollar. Basically Warrens is a marketing exercise to rip off tourists. Try Philps in Hayle or Pengenna Pasties. Philps use traditional methods and ingredients handed down over generations in their family, do Warrens? Wonder if they will reply to this review.

We go to this hotel regularly, every couple of months for a few nights. The staff are wonderful, warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble(borrowing an iron, a fan and breakfast in my room when I didn't want to go down, due to back problems). The choices for breakfast are good, but dinner in the evening is AMAZING! The menu is Indian cuisine, freshly cooked when you order, and prepared by an Indian chef, using all fresh ingredients. The lamb shank dish is falling off the bone and the food so delicious that we ordered a takeaway dinner on the day we left. Amazing food( the best I've had outside of India!).

We ate in the restaurant on the 5 nights it opens- Tuesday to Saturday. There is a good choice of food starters, mains & desserts all freshly prepared and nicely served by friendly staff. We enjiyed all the items we had & the wine was good too. You can also visit the Hat & Lemon bar for drinks and cocktails.

Nice place for desert. My grown up kids loved it. I think it is best for sharing. Too big to eat one on your own. If you are a member of meerkat, you get 25% discount (eat in) between Monday and Thursday. Staff are friendly but service is a bit non existent. Maybe it is self serve. We did find our own table, got the menu ourselves and ordered at the till. Definitely worth visiting.

We were lucky enough to get a table here last week, and think it must be one of the best kept secrets in the Forest of Dean. We had chosen from the Christmas menu, every course was delicious, well presented on good china, and with decent cutlery - things that are an important element in a meal. It was lovely to see the students waiting at tables and cooking in the kitchen, whilst doing an excellent job. This restaurant deserves to be supported. We'll definintely be returning, and have already told many of our friends about it.

Two of us called in to have a tradition holiday ice cream. Lovely ice cream made at a local family farm with a good variety of flavours. Rich and creamy and a pleasant change from corporate produced ice cream.

We went outside Keele University term time. It was quiet. We got good service. I had the oatcakes. I am a local, and know oatcakes. Visitors (parents of students etc) might be really impressed. I was less so. I am not so used to a few large mushrooms with the cheese. I would suggest slicing them and spreading them all over. The cheese could have had a greater presence too. And maybe a less greasy oatcake. My friend’s fish fingers sandwich was however excellent. Apparently it came with an espresso cup of carrot soup; which I enjoyed. He said it was first rate, and he is a bit picky. We enjoyed a side order of chip. Yes really chips, not fries. So we will certainly return, but maybe try something different.

The lady was very welcoming, bacon role was nice but, order was wrong. The bill was wrong. Apart from that it was good. The only person working needs some training.
