Well, it was our final visit to the Lakeside Cabin last week. What a wonderful hidden gem this cafe is, and it is going to be very much missed by so many, now that it has closed its doors. The food exquisite, so tastefully presented, especially all those gorgeous cakes, mouth watering! The location and setting, along with the amazing family who ran it made it a very happy place to be. Thank you ‘A’ team, for making our trips an unforgettable and enjoyable experience. So sad that you have gone, but we wish you all the best in your new venture. We will DEFINITELY come and find you at Pydar Mews in Truro.

What a lovely place to have a cuppa tea and a bite to eat. The food was amazing. We had sandwiches and the thai pea and spinach soup which was delicious. Jackie and Alan have created a warm welcoming tearoom with some thoughtful and inspiring words of wisdom displayed on the walls. I certainly recommend this place to anybody who visits Stow on the Wold but be sure to book in advance.

Outstanding independent coffee/doughnut/hog roast takeaway. Welcoming people (thanks Joey & Bailey!) who were friendly and happy to chat. Coffee was delicious (freshly brewed filter), and the hog roast roll was the best I’ve had - complete with crackling. Don’t get me started on the doughnuts.

From the moment we walked through the front door we were made to feel welcome. The dining room is warm and cozy, the decor eclectic. With a choice of two menus, the bar or specials there was plenty of choice. The bar menu giving you the option to reduce your per head spend. We all opted for dishes from the specials menu!! We are a family that loves our food. Every dish was beautifully presented, well proportioned and delicious. I can whole heartedly recommend the goats cheese and pesto beignets to start and if you have a big appetite the ribeye surf and turf. There was a great choice of gluten free or gluten free adaptable options and with no gluten contamination in the fryers we could all share the fries. We only managed one dessert between six of us and were delighted with the lemon sorbet presented inside a frozen lemon. The staff were all knowledgeable and willing to help with menu suggestions, and adjustments to suit dietary requirements. Nothing was too much trouble. If you are not in the area it is worth going out of your way to enjoy dinner.

What an absolute find. So pleased we didn’t stop along the main high street of Tewkesbury and instead headed towards the Abbey. The tea rooms are unique, and definitely worth the visit. Forget Costas/and all the run of the mill venues and support local. Our lunch was tasty, and our surroundings beautiful.

What a lovely place, been there twice once for breakfast and again for lunch. Super friendly with our dog, treats and cudles. Both times food was lovley. The young lady that served us, did not catch her name, was so nice and friendly made us wont to come again, but have got to go home. Will be back in march so will definitely use again.

The food and service from Justin and Julia are fantastic. They are consistently brilliant. The food is warm and hearty and although the menu is extensive, each meal is of the same quality as the next. Last night we ate the Mediterranean carrots, mushrooms in Stilton, fantastic fish pie (Julia’s nan’s recipe), massive lamb chops and pork fillet and they were all beautiful. Try your best to leave room for dessert but if you don’t have room, order one anyway… You’ll want it once it’s there.

Went to Weavers Cottage today with my family to have a late celebration for my birthday. I had a high tea which was lovely and my family had other various items off the menu. All the food was lovely and beautifully served. The gentleman who was serving was very helpful and efficient and it was service with a smile. We are local to Torquay but it was our first time visiting Weavers cottage but it won’t be our last. Lovely outdoor setting that is covered with heaters and we even had a visit from a little robin on the back of one of our chairs. Lovely little lunch stop.

We visited almost every day last week, food is good, but on Saturday they were busy so we sat outside, not a problem with that, but we found that they were serving quite a lot of people their food even though we ordered before them! And this was a lot of people,I would say they were locals and or friends, but this was not right in my opinion,a shame really.
