The best restaurants serving British food in Tandridge South East

On the 19th January we arrived at Lamingtons tea rooms for a pre booked afternoon tea for myself, my Dad, brother, sister in law and sister. It was a difficult day for us being a year to date our mum had suddenly passed away. We wanted to remember her and knew she always loved a cream tea. After hearing such good reviews about Lamingtons we decided to take the plunge and book on a Sunday afternoon. Well from start to finish our experience was absolutely fantastic, we were met by the lovely Mark who introduced himself to us, so welcoming we were greated like old friends. We were sat at a large round table at the front, where we could admire the beautiful decor of the tea room. We were offered a non alcoholic Prosecco which was absolutely delicious and you would never have known it was alcohol free! Well when the afternoon tea came out we were taken back how delicious it looked so much variety , one of us had a gluten free version and you would not have known the difference it was so nice to see the gluten free person wasn’t missing out with limited choice. Well the food was so delicious so fresh and so plentiful, the teapot was kept filled up by Mark too and he kept an eye on us making sure everything was ok and popping over to talk to us. I cannot say how fantastic this place is, such a gem and we cannot wait to come back, oh and a big shout out to whoever was in the kitchen preparing all the delicious food.

Love this cafe. Good, traditional cafe food and drinks all served by very friendly people who can’t do enough for you. It’s very clean which is important. It’s our go to place as my teen loves the Oreo milkshakes and a no. 1 breakfast. The healthy breakfasts are what I usually go for. No chia seeds or organic produce here but great for avocado and poached eggs on brown toast with bacon or smoked salmon etc and the coffee is great!

Sonia and the team are so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Very tasty breakfasts, all cooked fresh, presented well, and great portions too.

Without doubt my favourite place to go solo (plus dog) in oxted. Great brunch style food which is consistently good and perfect coffee everytime. But I have to say the stand out points are the staff who are an absolute credit to the place and make everyone feel welcome. Will keep coming back.

We had a table of 7 with our family all the way from Venezuela. We sat by the lovely warm fire and had a fantastic Sunday roast. The service was friendly, and we felt like at home. The owner shook our hands as we left and wished a safe onward journey.

Had an amazing vegetarian roast with a great variety of vegetable sides and generous portions all freshly made. Nicola is a marvel in the kitchen!

We'd just finished touring Hever Castle and were ready for a proper bite to eat. A Google search & short drive later, and we found ourselves plates deep into a well-presented Steak & Ale Pie/Chips & Cajun Chicken Burger/Sandwich. They were both extremely delicious. With Oldies Classic tunes playing in the background, this charming cafe just feeeeels right. The server/service (Alex) was wonderful, as well. We were so amazed at how beautiful our food looked and tasted, we forgot to take photos--embarrassing.... A gem of a place!

Love this cafe have been many times after dog walks always such a warm welcome and great food. Yesterday I ordered the halloumi and sweet chilli wrap and was moved to write this review it was the most delicious thing I have eaten for a long time!

Stopped here en route to LGW. Very nice breakfast and good service, reasonably priced and only 15 minutes from the airport. Parking out the front or just opposite in an open car park. Will definitely visit again rather than an over-priced meal at the airport.

Fantastic coffee, the best in the area. Very friendly service. Shop is stocked with wonderfull luxurious items. We definately come back soon.

Was on the way to McDermotts in Selsdon but traffic so bad decided to try this place. Not in the same league. Batter & chips pretty poor and not a good idea to rely on bigger portions to cover the shortcomings. Overall, 5/10.

I had the chicken shish, it was amazing, excellent customer service. The coffee is lovely too. I strongly recommend 👌

My partner said ‘it is a trick restaurant’ - it wants you to think it’s better than it is!? The very high price for the tasting menu and wine flight makes you think that you are in for something very special (trick 1) The portion size is very small ( most notably the Pate) trick 2 Staffed by young inexperienced girls with no Matre de onhand to guide and control them Service was slow (70% capacity) Very expensive wine by the glass served pre poured and not a sight of the bottle (the wine should have been served at the table from the shown bottle?) trick 3 Not a special experience and not value for money trick 4
