Came here for breakfast with my partner, we weren’t expecting something fancy but we were disappointed as the staff spent more time talking and on their phones then working. Again we weren’t expecting anything fancy with the food but the cooked breakfast tasted odd compared to breakfasts I’ve had in the past.

Chose The Easington as it has just had a refurb, looks nice inside as you should expect. Ordered drinks followed by the food shortly after. The food arrived 25-30mins later, the signature beef pie was very good with meat in it (have had some with hardly any inside), no carrots were served and asked why they hadn't had delivery, should of been told when ordering. The beer was a good pint, staff were friendly. So would I go back again, I most probably would so yes.

Visited with my daughter and dog today for a light lunch after shopping at Bicester village. We had a wonderful friendly welcome to the pub and were able to choose where we sat. Food and drink service was quick and the food was hot and tasty - the lunch menu of a wrap, fries and a drink was well priced. Service was excellent and friendly. On top of all this the pub was really dog friendly with a “dog menu” with chicken breast, sausages and burger bites all v reasonably priced. My dog went for the chicken breast and she loved it! Would definitely return again when in the area. So nice to feel so welcome

Been coming to this pub for years, ‘nowt wrong with spoons’ Management and all the staff Dona great job, Yep as with every spoons it’s cheap and cheerful, gets far too busy and you wish there was more staff. Full of locals which can be an issue especially at weekends but all in all it’s a lovely pub with a nice history Breakfasts- which is all I’ve ever really eaten here apart from the odd curry club are filling, cheap- fiver! And served quickly, what. Ore can you ask for Great for some ales- me and the boyfriend love their guest ales and ipas. Today we’ve tried the exmoor beast and exmoor gold- both went down well, and for £1.99- that price is a steal. Go on spoons, you do yourself proud!!!!!

The worst place we have ever stayed. Rooms were filthy - we had to move rooms because our shower did not work and looked like it was about 50 years old! Nothing felt clean in the room. The cracks in the walls were taped up and painted over. Breakfast was very standard, porridge pots from Tesco!! Couldn’t wait to leave in the morning! Please don’t waste your money and stay here! We have requested a refund but no-one ever comes back to us!

Most of us know that post pandemic many country pubs are suffering due the decline in customers and the current cost of living and every rising water and energy bills. The Plough inn is no exception and times have been hard. Even so, the landlady and her partner have worked tirelessly to try and get back on track. A new Cooker has been installed at a considerable cost and the eating lounge has has a lovely refurb. I went for a Sunday dinner with my partner and the meal was very tasty and my beef was tender and cooked to a perfection. My partner ordered roast chicken which went down really well. For deserts we were presented with a choice of typical English Sunday deserts, served with fresh cream or custard. We also ordered a bottle of red that was complementary with both meats and deserts. " The landlady has just started "Breakfasts at the Plough" every Saturday from 08.00am -11.00 am. Great breakfasts and great prices, served with fresh coffee, teas and fruit juices. The Plough also has live music nights, bingo, and pub quizzes. Plan some tie to drop in and I feel sure you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely incredible night with the Secret Supper Society for my birthday. Jules has been wonderful to deal with right from my first enquiry. The food was absolutely incredible. Clean plates all round. Amazing flavours with good size portions. Jules and her team were the perfect balance of attentive whilst leaving us alone to enjoy the meal in the beautiful dining room. We'll definitely be back!

Whilst I have long maintained that the reviewing of motorway service stations sounds like something Alan Partridge would pitch to the BBC, I did say I would review anything I came across that has a presence on TripAdvisor*, and so here goes with my 3rd service station review. Cherwell Valley is a decent enough stop off in Ardley, on the outskirts of Bicester. More importantly it is a great opportunity to get off the monotonous M40 for a little while. There are decent toilets (the most crucial element of a service station in my opinion) that aren't "inclusive" like that rubbish at South Mimms down in Hertfordshire, as well as the usual smattering of fast food outlets including the unjustifiably overpriced Burger King. There is a Greggs just outside the principle building, which is where I opted to eat before rejoining the M40. There is a K-Type Royal Mail postbox on site too, and this is something that delights me. The car park here is pretty badly laid out, and the spaces don't seem particularly designed for larger vehicles, but there are plenty of them, so you should be fine. * so long as they can be bothered to upload a photo at the very least.
