We returned to this pub as we were visiting Bicester Village, we had been to the pub the year before and even then the customer service was not great. However, we went back as there was a big group of us so we could sit outside altogether. Drinks were ordered fine, however when it came to ordering the food we went inside again to order & there is one older gentleman bar tender who proceeded to ignore us and take everyone else’s order, 25 minutes until we had enough and stated ‘is anyone going to serve us’ it was stated abruptly as we were very frustrated but was not aggressive at all, this bartender then turned around and shouted at us that we were being threatening and for us to leave. We stated happily and left. Can’t believe how this man ignored us and then turned horrible after we were frustrated. We will never return!!!

Great staff,great bar Rebecca and Sal make me always feel welcome and appreciated whenever I come in. Perfect place for food or a drink

The Acorn has to be the most happy, friendly, & obliging pub i have ever come across. I will return with upmost pleasure. The staff were cheerful, i felt like an old friend visiting a pub from years ago.

The best pub in Bicester. It’s so friendly. Service is so quick. All staff is are extremely friendly and quiz night on Tuesdays are the highlight of my week.

I popped in for lunch with my husband, daughter and granddaughters, while in the area. We received a warm welcome from Sam, who found us children’s menus and colouring pencils to keep the girls entertained. We also ordered our meals and drinks with Sam, she was helpful and knowledgeable when my daughter had questions. We collected our drinks, the peach sangria was a good choice. There was a coach party in and the pub had a nice atmosphere. There was a slight wait for food but as we were not in a hurry it didn’t matter. Becky served the girls their burgers, nothing was too much trouble for her. Our meals arrived not long after, the focaccia was delicious, especially the halloumi and roasted vegetables. The prices were reasonable and portion sizes were good too. Sam also took our dessert order, the girls enjoyed their brownies and ice cream. Then we settled the bill which was a pleasant surprise as it was so reasonable. Every member of staff was pleasant with us and we saw nice interactions with others too. It was a lovely family lunch and we would certainly visit again.

Absolutely appalling customer service. For more years than I can remember I used to take my dear Dad to this pub for lunch on my visits to Bicester. Today I visited, from Somerset, on the second anniversary of his passing. It's always an emotional visit now and after visiting his grave I thought I would visit our old haunt for food and a drink. My first error was misreading the sign in the car park, although there are several conflicting signs and put my registration into the machine outside and not the machine in the pub. On previous visits you got a refund at the bar. When I explained I was told that this had now changed and I would not get my £6 back. I said "oh come on, I'm going to have food and a drink" and was told NO. Only when I protested did the girl say you'll need to speak to the manager. Another woman then appeared and got involved telling me the signs outside were perfectly clear and say Do not put money in the machine. I told her I had not seen this and she became agitated and said come with me. Well quite frankly I was not going to chase her outside as I clearly hadn't seen it otherwise I wouldn't have paid £6 for parking! Eventually the manager came and was perfectly polite and reasonable and said it would be knocked off the bill. I thought that was that but oh no. I ordered my drink and meal at the bar and was told she couldn't do the £6 refund, so I said ok can you get the manager again. Miraculously she was then able to reduce the bill without the manager. The second woman was also behind the bar and I felt I had been "eggy" with her, although I did not shout or swear, so I explained that it was the anniversary of my dad's death and apologised if I had been curt. She said well you were bang out of order and began a rant about the signs clearly stating not to put your registration in the machine outside.. well at that point I decided to return my drink and cancel my order and told them they could keep my money. I felt really upset and humiliated. I told her she was rude as I left . I will honestly never return to this pub after today and I know my Dad would be furious. He worked as a barman for many many years and his customer service was impeccable, unlike the staff in The Acorn Bicester.

Couldn’t fault this place at all. From the moment we walked in the staff were very welcoming, friendly and hospitable….as good as sunshine, lollipops and rainbows make me feel. The menu was good and the waiting time for food was good. I would highly recommend

Haven't been here for a long time but a family get together needed somewhere and I suggested it as a central location. What a difference although pleased to see Mark is still there (only one I remember) The food and service were great and Mark was very entertaining with the kids and kept them amused. The staff were lovely too Rebbeca? Was so helpful as well. Can't go wrong here, you have to visit.

Today is my birthday, this restaurant is provided the great food and good service, the servicer is very helpful and kind to my family, we will come back again and again ~~!

What a warm welcome from all the staff! Six months since we came here (as we are not locals) a change of some staff but all of them make this a place we enjoy coming back to. Food was hot and tasty, the curry sauce is to die for!! Ian makes the place fun with a random song here and there! Can't wait to come back!

A lovely wholesome pub full of incredible, attentive staff. We have been here before but since Ian, the new manager, has taken over it’s been totally transformed for the better. A real local friendly vibe about it. We LOVE it! You won’t be disappointed by this pub, it’s glorious!

We love the Acorn. What a welcoming and lovely pub. Ian came in as manager last year and has turned the place around. We love the pub quiz every Tuesday, and every time we come for a drink it’s like coming home. Keep up the amazing work you lovely people!

Usually a really nice pub but I arrived with my girlfriend for the first time and we sat down for a drink before we ate food. During our first drink I accidentally spilled my drink. Due to my girlfriend with mental health issues and separation anxiety, I stayed at the table and ordered a drink to the table instead of going to the bar. This was to seek cleaning products, replenish my thirst and keep the girlfriend happy at the same time. The female who dropped off my drink was rude throughout and entitled. The best way to describe the conversation that happens next…….. is just plain shock and confusion. I asked for a towel or cloth of some sort to clean up the accident that I had created. To be met with her response which was ‘what’ in an aggressive manor. This completely caught me off guard and to be quite honest she seemed ridiculously infuriated. Either way, I said “I’ve had a little accident, please could I have a towel or cloth” At this point she lost full composure and stormed away and back with a mop. She proceeded to throw the mop against the chair (to lean it) and with a aggressive stance looking dead into my eyes said that ‘You could have come to the bar’ she shouted this so loud that I felt like an embarrassed child. At this point all the other surrounding guests started looking over and her co- workers came around asking if she was okay. They took over as she moped and they were direct and polite. At this time the female who seemed like the Manager. Explained that she wanted to know slightly sooner because of the slip risk near the table etc. She handled it with complete professionalism and made me feel like I was a human again after the other female. Although I remained on guard as she was mopping furiously and aggressively even when the Guinness was all gone from the floor. There was also I nice man who ended up serving us for the remainder and i could not fault him, even though the female had already ruined our time here and upset my girlfriend. To conclude, if you visit this place. 1. Keep a firm grip of your pint glasses 2. Look for assistance from anyone but this female. 3. Enjoy the pretty tasty food Hope this wasn’t too harsh as I’ve never submitted a review, however this was one of a kind. Message to the female - if you are having a bad day, I hope that it gets better and if not then please work on your customer service skills and possibly attend anger management. ^ apart from this you are pretty good at pouring a Guinness though. Ps - after this they brought us our next drink 35 minutes after ordering when we was ready to go :(

Parker had Beef and Ale pie it was beautiful but I had fish and chips but sad to say disappointing sent back the frost time as over cooked then when second serving arrives it was no better

Haven’t been to The Acorn for probably a year and a half, and was massively disappointed ☹️ But on our return in February 2024 what a difference! Good staff, attentive and helpful, and the food was great, good price and good choices. We will return 🤗

Celebrated my Grandaughters 13th birthday along with 13 of my family at the Acorn. What a lovely meal and evening we had. Ian and his team were fantastic. The meal came out in one go, including for my celiac daughter and was excellent. Will be eating there again soon. Thanks Ian and your team.

Absolutely love anytime spent at the Acorn, I come often with friends for a fuss free dinner and a catch up. The food is great, very reasonable and service is super quick, The staff are so friendly but the manager is what makes this place so great, he is so welcoming, absolutely hilarious and such a friendly face. He never fails to make us laugh every pub should have one of him at the front of house. He's a really asset. Definitely recommend a visit fantastic all round.

Just eaten the loveliest katsu curry accompanied with a non alcoholic no-joto… and delicious dessert with a nice cuppa. What a great way to spend my birthday after a shopping trip to Bicester village! Lovely staff, lovely venue, clean, tidy and run extremely well. 13 of us for lunch and the food was good quality, the parking was free and easy and the staff were exceptional. We were made to feel very welcome and would highly recommend the Acorn.

ABSOLUTLEY DISGRACEFUL they now allow people to pay to park here whilst visiting Bicester Village. Booked for four people so that my partner and I could meet friends who were coming from Hertfordshire to have a meal over the christmas holidays. Our friends arrived before us and managed to get parked. When we arrived there wasn't a a parking space to be had. My partner was driving ( I myself don't drive ) and has to use a crutch or a stick and even then can't walk far. There were five cars waiting for spaces ahead of us so he just dropped me off and returned home. He had no choice. When I got inside the pub there were very few people in there so car park obviously being hogged by Bicester Village shoppers. We will never use this pub again it is discriminating against disabled people. Shame on you Greene King. Helen & a very hungry Nigel.

Service and food was lovely, really helpful staff and tasty food would highly recommend to anyone visiting Bicester village.

James, Romania and the rest of ghe staff were outstanding. The quality if the gammon is probably the best we have had even at much higher prices, very happy.

Popped in from a day out for a nice,quiet meal. Our waiter Nigel was very friendly and efficient. The food was lovely and the atmosphere was great. Thank you to all the staff especially Nigel for a pleasent evening. Will definately be coming back.

Went here with my girlfriend yesterday as it looked a nice place to eat, we were told at the bar we couldn't order a drink and that it had to be done via the app. We then had problems with the app so we asked if we could order normally. The bar staff said they shouldn't really be doing this bit shell do it anyway. There were glasses all over the bar and the tables were very dirty and hadn't been cleared. We then tried to order food which become apparent that nothing was available. I tried for the chicken sharer... Not available, lasagne..not available..hunters chicken...not available. So we tried our luck with the burgers. We were in luck so it seems, but when it arrived the onion rings were cold. Burger was just about warm. Chips were cold and too salty to eat. Then we discovered a pube in the Burger, overall a nasty place to eat. Suprised they haven't been shut down to be honest. Would not recommend at all!

All amazing and always have been. Have gone for years since I moved to Bicester over five years ago. Probably the best place to go if your next to Bicester village or even going for shopping. 👌🏻

Poor value for money Sunday diner. The adult portion and the child’s portion were the same size. £12 a head was very expensive to leave hungry. We tried to get the waiters attention to discuss but he was busy talking about another restaurant he works at. We left hungry (we are not big eaters at all) Very poor value for money on the Sunday diner and not the best service either. Pity as we have always previously enjoyed. Will give it a miss in future.

Service was polite and efficient. There was a great range of food and drink and options for the whole family. Very welcoming staff.

We went to the Acorn yesterday as a family intending to eat and at the bar the barman ( Bald with beard ) said mate you have to order trough an app. So we sat down and tried to order. My daughter wanted gin and lemonade and through the app it was unclear how to order this as they appeared separate items so she went to the bar to ask but staff were again uninterested. My daughter and I both felt very annoyed at the way we had been treated and what was going to be a nice treat for us turned out to make us both feel angry. We decided to, leave and went to a different venue for meal. Extremely, extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this venue to anyone who values customer service.

Good pub grub at reasonable prices, but the service from Nigel and the team was absolutely brilliant!

Came for a meal on 14-4-22 with my family. food was great and staff were so friendly. Serving us was Nigel and I think his name was Barney, both so helpful and kind to my daughters. Will definitely return. Big thank you

Food was proper pub grub as to be expected but the service was great Nigel was top banter and upped the score! All staff looked after us after a long day shopping!

We had a great meal, staff were friendly and obliging. They have a good menu and it was ideal after visiting Bicester Shopping Village. However, be aware of the necessity to advise your car’s reg. to staff as the car park is managed by another company. You’re better to leave your car at the village after shopping and walk across to the pub.

We booked a table for Mother’s Day and was seated after about 5mins waiting. It then took an hour for our order to be taken, and we had our one year old son with us who was getting hungry. When the food came out we had to send back the hunters chicken as the chicken was watery/wet and it was missing onion rings. They changed the meal for something else which was much nicer. It took a while to get the bill at the end too, felt like we had to keep pestering the staff.

Absolutely lovely! Really helpfully and alway checking we was okay and had enough to drink and eat..

Came for dinner with a friend and our children, Nigel was very pleasant and helpful. My fussy daughter would not eat her pizza as it had little chunks of tomato, Nigel kindly changed it for her.

We came out for a family lunch and could not fault anything! Delicious fresh and hot food. The staff looking after us were, Chloe, Ashleigh and Callum, they were all fantastic… very friendly and potite. Thank you very much for a great experience, we definately recommend to all :)

We came from London to Bicester village for shopping ; while living from their we saw this pub thought would be nice and want to try food . But I think this was the bad choice .. Waited 45 minutes for drinks. 1hour 30 minutes for food.. restaurant is quite but still took so long to get Our food and Drinks .. service is really bad .. no check back and good taste disgusting..

Be warned - you will need cash (coins) if you want to eat here.Wanted to stop here for lunch but discovered that you needed to pay £6 for parking. Ok - this was redeemable if you spent over £10 in the pub but the machine only took coins. I had a couple of £5 notes and a few pennies on me - rarely pay cash for anything these days - so couldn't pay for the parking either in cash or by card. So we left and headed into Bicester town where we parked for free and ate at another pub!

Work for Bicester village across the road always really busy but the service is amazing, food is good the drinks are cheap and arrive fast! Staff are lovely. Callum Chloe and Ashley and the rest of the staff are warm lovely and welcoming!

Waited over an hour for our meal. Then one meal was cold and took over 35 mins for a hot meal to come out. Such a let down but won’t be going again.

Wrong drink delivered and water forgotten.Meal out of stock so ordered duck salad instead. Half of meal missing and tough fatty duck dumped on lettuce with barely and dressing. Disinterested staff with no customer care. No wonder there was no one in there

Great layout and modern feel. Long bar and seating area as well as restaurant and conservatory. Food choices good but is mainly average but I suppose value for money. Lots of cheaply priced wine that was nice. Staff a bit hit and miss. Main issue was that it was very cold inside

Tried this pub for lunch during shopping in Bicester village. We’ve been welcomed from a lady with a black dress who I guess is the manager ☺️ She took us to a table and we ordered food and drinks through the app. Service was so quick! Everything was amazing and portions are big! Price are also quite good! Everyone was kind always asking if we needed anything else.We will definitely came back next time that we will be in Bicester.

The Acorn is a great place to go after a shopping day out. We was served hot food and a chilled drink, promptly upon our arrival. The staff Harrison, Leah and kayleigh were really attentive and helped us to our table, then Harrison took our order with a friendly chat. They cleared our table after our meal, with a lovely level of hospitality and service. The food was very good, also. So thank you, we shall pop by again to this friendly pub for another meal in the future.

Popped by as BF wasn't taking walk-ins. Got settled and then ordered the drinks and food. The food was excellent, and topped of my husbands birthday nicely. Shame about the lack of gammon, but will probably be back for more as it was a lovely experience. My husbands steak and ribs were perfectly cooked, and I had a really moist hunters chicken. Well done Monday night team.

Popped in for dinner before travelling home after a day shopping at BV, this place is a real gem, beautiful interior, friendly staff & great food at a reasonable price. Harrison was our server & was chatty & attentive, he’s a real character. I had the lamb shank with mash & an ipa, beautiful food & well kept ale is always a winner in my book

Lovely cosy pub, tables were clean and not sticky at all. Was a relief to come for a drink to relax here after the shopping mayhem of Bicester village. Service was very fast and we enjoyed our time there. Bar staff were all very nice, particularly Kaylie who was super polite and friendly to us.

Went for an early Christmas Eve outing on the 23rd December. Turkey was delicious and fab service by the staff, especially Nigel, well done to all, keep up the good work.

We attended the breakfast with Santa event with friends and this way exceeded my expectations. The boys are two so a little overwhelmed by it all but they had a fabulous time, dancing, interacting and playing with the elves. Meeting Santa. The food was also excellent value and it was a lovely breakfast. The staff were amazing and service was good, they had the added obstacle of the children partying around the restaurant. Fantastic team!I would highly recommend visiting and attending breakfast with Santa. We will be back next year for it

We attended this event today and it far exceed our expectations. The staff were friendly and attentive. Food was a good standard and as expected for the venue.The elves were welcoming from the staff and invited all the children to join them for dancing, playing and magic tricks. This was a great way to entertain them when adults were eating. Father Christmas was very authentic and perfect for little ones. He talked to both boys for a good amount of time and got both parents involved too. He gave them a gift and talked them through what they wanted for Christmas and what traditions they have on Christmas Eve. He then walked around when the children were eating helping them and generally interacting. He even joined in with the elves party. For value for money this was amazing and worth every penny. It far exceeded our expectation and we would happily attend next year!

We booked the Festive Fayre menu for this visit, the table was set up lovely & the pub was very festive, we could smell the mulled wine as soon as we arrived! Our server, Harrison was very attentive & chatty, the food was amazing as always. If we lived closer, we would be booking for Christmas day. I just don't know how such a busy place always seems to keep a great standard of food & service

Had a lovely time at the Acorn with family and friends, the atmosphere was very pleasant, warm and welcoming. It is a very spacious pub with great friendly and enthusiastic bar staff who are always happy to assist with any needs or requests. The service provided during my visit was exceptional, I wasn't wating long for my meal to say the pub was very busy. the food itself was cooked and served perfectly especially the steak. I like my steak cooked medium and it was just that (perfect) compliments to the chefs .The food and service is great value for money! I will definitely be re-visiting

We visited the acorn with our daughter and granddaughter on Tuesday 23rd November.To start our experience our first two choices of wine were out of stock.Our daughter and I ordered the hunters chicken my husband ordered the all day breakfast and our granddaughter ordered garlic bread and pasta.The meals arrived within 15 minutes tops which indicates these are not freshly cooked.The hunters chicken was so tough and inedible and my granddaughters pasta was so bland she didn’t eat any of it just the garlic bread.When our plates were collected hardly touched i commented that it was the worst chicken I had ever tasted and the untouched pasta spoke for itself.The waiter made no comment to my feedback.Needless to say we will not be back and would certainly not recommend this pub.

What a great experience! A sit down, affordable, table service Greene King pub. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area (or local) Attentive staff that can cater to your needs. I booked Sunday lunch so we could eat before Christmas shopping at Bicester village. On arrival we were greeted by Kam. our host, who showed us to our table. He was very friendly, he explained it was full table service.We ordered from Sal, who was our waiter who was very patient with us. We had 2 Sunday roast lamb and my daughter wanted to try the mussels. The food arrived in a reasonable time and was piping hot. The lamb was delicious and my daughter liked and enjoyed the mussels.When we had finished Sal recommended the banana waffle desert to us which we ordered and was glad we did. Thanks Sal!We will definitely be returning to the Acorn.

Called in here whilst on a coach trip to the village opposite, We were turned away from the bar and told to sit down by a woman who asked to order drinks on their app. We were a group of 60/70 year olds who just wanted a few drinks before our coach left. This system may be ok for younger ones but for older people who are not technically minded this isn’t an easy task. The internet was slow to download it then we had to scroll through looking for our chosen drinks . The men wanted to use their camra vouchers but couldn’t do this either. Not a good experience for us oldies ! Others on the trip experienced this also. The strange thing was we ate and drank in Oxford in the Wig and Pen earlier and it was lovely ( Green King also) but wasn’t asked to go through that rigmarole. We have Green King pubs near us and never had to do that. Awful experience.

What a great team and some great food too! So nice to see - and be served by - a team of people happy in their work and doing a great job! The food was nicely done too, excellent value! Thanks to Nigel, Harrison and James! Am in the trade and my experience here this evening was brilliant!

Visited on Tuesday and can honestly say even though the pub was running on a reduced menu, the food was still gorgeous. Not only that but the service was brilliant too, such helpful and attentive staff. Will definitely be returning 😁

Came after shopping for a quick bite before heading home, Lucas was very attentive, explaining supply issues & making recommendations. He even talked me into having a dessert. Food was amazing as always & the wine on point

I had a lovely experience dining here. The staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming. James was brilliant and could not do enough to make sure that I had a comfortable experience. The food was also fantastic. I would highly recommend visiting here and will definitely return in the future.

Friendly attentive staff, wide menu and tasty food. We popped in for a quick lunch, and this pub delivered. Really enjoyed it.
