Refused to make me a sandwich 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Unreal. Asked if they are still doing the meal deal. Uhhh, no sorry we aren’t. Okay can you make me a sandwich! No sorry. You can’t make it up.

This was our first visit since VanJordan's since it came under new management. I brought my youngest for a Mummy-Daughter date, and we ordered breakfast and drinks. It wasn't very busy for a Saturday morning, and the ordering style was the same: order at the till, pay and find a seat. The table was sticky, unfortunately. The staff stayed behind the counter unless bringing food over. To be honest, the whole space felt a bit tired and in need of a tidy. My coffee was lukewarm when it arrived, so I returned it and the staff made a new "hot" coffee. The coffee was nice but it was concerning they told me that's the temperature they make all their coffees. Honestly, Banbury tell me you don't all drink luke-warm coffee! Breakfast was nice, but basic. I could have made it at home, which is the measurement I use to guage if I'd visit a cafe/restaurant again. If I can make it at home, why go out? They did accommodate my order to make it gluten-free, something I always appreciate. Given the eating out options around Banbury, I probably wouldn't choose VanJordans if I wanted to spend time out, eating with friends/family. I'd pop in for a quick coffee to go though.

Had a lovely lunch here Saturday 6th Jan, I can highly recommend it. Food was great & staff are lovely.

Very disappointed. From the outside it looks a very upmarket coffee shop, however inside its a different story. Not impressed I would give a minus score if I could. Food presentation very poor. We ordered a veggie burger and were advised they did not have any but could do a vegetarian sausage instead. This duly arrived only to see the sausages had just been placed in the bun and fell out as soon as I took a bite. Then the sausage were poorly cooked, vert dry and rubbery texture. We called the waitress and complained she agreed to replace with another item. So we ordered a sandwich. Once again very poor presentation and then I found a grey piece of hair. By now we had lost the will to live. My daughter ordered an egg benedict but even that tasted awful not as it should be given o had this item at another restaurant. I can honestly say we will not be going again and I would warn others before going keep ur expectations low. Got a five rating in window not sure how? Or maybe an old sticker

Such a disappointment. Popped in with work colleagues for lunch - ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans. Have never seen such an appalling plate of food. The potato was clearly microwaved and tinged green, the cheese on top had also been mincrowaved and the little pile of stale beans were dry and had been sitting in the bain Marie for hours. When I went in to ask for my money back the waitresses giggled and whispered to the ‘chef’ saying ‘oh she’s come in to complain’. A real shame as my colleagues toasted sandwich looked fab. No excuse for such bad food and no reason to treat a customer so badly. I definitely won’t be back and my biggest regret was not taking a photo of the lunch to share on here.

Went in for light lunch about 1.45pm and ordered from the menu 2 regular hot dogs . Went to order and no hot dogs ? So tried to order the pulled pork jacket potato and guess what . No pulled pork . It’s a Tuesday so can’t see them being that busy . In Bambery a lot and won’t be wasting my time there again

I’ve heard such good stuff about this place, so my friend and I decided to try it, we arrived at about 1:30 and 1st impressions were good, service with a smile , delicious cake absolutely superb quality and a decent portion size and a big mug of tea, so far so good! It wasn’t until we were getting ready to leave and decided to use the loo, yuk! it wasn’t pleasant I don’t think had been cleaned all day . I understand that it had probably had a large amount of traffic one loo for men and women, I won’t go into too many details but it was grim in there!

Used to be great but has gone downhill. Menu doesn’t match the options in till. Received nothing like I ordered. Second attempt still had extra items I didn’t ask for or want. Cheap beans and margarine on bread. Such a shame, used to be fabulous.

I’ve been coming here regularly for breakfast or coffee since moving here in 2021. While at first it was hit and miss. There have been great improvements and I wouldn’t go anywhere else for breakfast! The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Tables are always wiped down and clean. The drinks are great, I normally have breakfast with friends which is always good! That being said, the sausages on the full English are cheap tasting and not very nice… think Richmond’s packet sausages. Would love if they were able to use one of the great local butchers for sausages instead.

Excellent food and service. Great value. We called in while passing through the town and it was an a huge relief to find a friendly place with great choice, good value and a warm welcome. 100% recommended for a breakfast or light lunch.

My partner woke me up early on my birthday and informed me that I wouldn't have to make breakfast like I usually do. She said that she had saved some money so she could take me 'somewhere nice'. That somewhere nice was certainly not Van Jordans and I wish I had stayed in bed. My partner and I arrived and were told to find any table to sit at. We ordered 2 chicken fajita wraps with hallomi in. Whilst we waited for our food, we watched the 'chef' in the open kitchen making our food. The 'chef' was sweating away and was using the back of his hand to wipe the sweat off his forehead, whilst he uncarefully continued to cook our food. The chef then preceeded to go out the front for a cigarette, with his apron still on, and when he went back inside, he did NOT wash his hands. When the food arrived the outside of the wraps were cold and the filling barely warm, the taste of the watery tomato sauce encasing the barely cooked chicken still haunts me now. Half way through our food. 2 members of staff were eagerly cleaning around us. And one man said "once these 2 have gone I'm going clean down in like 10mins so that we can close as quick as possible" my partner and I felt so unwelcome that we picked up our wraps and left. We barely got 10meters down the road before we threw the remainder of our wraps in the bin. Staff = rude Food = no care or attention Hygiene = what hygiene Do yourself a favour anyone reading this and save your wallet and gut by avoiding this place at all costs. Absolute atrocity. We were recommended by Whately Hall hotel to pop in here for coffee and we were not disappointed. Great welcome, superb coffee, didn’t have any cake but they looked yummy. Great view of the Banbury Cross and the statue to the “Lady”. Well worth a visit here.

Stopped for breakfast on our way to Silverstone. Great breakfast and coffee served promptly by friendly staff. Perfect!

Had to be in Town Sunday mourning so popped into the coffee shop on the cross in Banbury. What a fabulous coffee , one of the best Cappuccino’s in Banbury and as for the cake absolutely delicious,Lemon cream sponge, only complaint is this is not good for the diet !! as we are going to have to go again. We called into this coffee shop when we had just arrived in Banbury as it was close to the Mercure hotel where we were staying. It has quite a large interior and seemed to be popular with the locals. We enjoyed two flat white coffees which cost £5.20.

We've been here for breakfast three times now and each time we are impressed with the friendly staff and prompt service. Only once was there an issue - overcooked eggs - and it was right so promptly and so without fuss, that we were impressed anew. There is a full all day menu and their smoothies are very popular around town so we'll definitely be back to try them. But I can say from first hand experience the full and mega breakfasts - both featuring some of the best bacon I have had in the area and properly done mushrooms - are a weekend treat not to be missed.
