The best restaurants serving British food in Sefton North West

We pre booked 3 afternoon teas, 1-gf 1- egg free 1- normal, the huge bowl of-hot soup was so tasty , the three platters arrived, beautifully presented and full of the most delicious goodies, sandwiches, cakes and scones, pots of tea - all suited to our dietary requirements, we cudnt eat everything but wer given boxes to take our goodies home. For a small local cafe they offer a wonderful service, I’ve had afternoon tea in many well established places but can truly say that this is the best by far. Tasty food in a clean and welcoming cafe, staff go out of their way to accommodate you and it’s very much appreciated. I would highly recommend you go- enjoy .

Looking for a wedding venue in locality of Southport, this place knocked spots off everywhere else in Southport. From meeting Julie who runs the venue, the welcome was warm, relaxed and professionally run as Julies experience of doing the role 45 or so years showed. No question was a silly question and Julie gave great advice on alternative ways of decorations, foods, and tips for us as bride and groom. The building is magnificent and we had the whole ground floor solely for wedding party. The chef Phil was amazing as his food for breakfast and evening buffet was, and his laid back attitude of whatever you want I can do not a problem, first class. My wife to be was in tears of joy seeing the actual layout of the wedding breakfast room the day before they did us proud. The whole day was like clockwork professionally run by Julie and her team and made us both feel extra special. Many guests, commented on what a lovely venue this is and how fab the food was. We would highly recommend the venue

So much choice, we enjoyed 3 tapas, the GDC Prawns were amazing. Lovely friendly staff, we will definitely be going again.

Not impressed by the menu, so I left without ordering anything.

Absolutely outrageous. We walked in and there were barely any customers. Just walked in for a drink and were immediately approached by a very rude member of staff who asked if we were there to eat or drink. We said we’d just like to have a drink. She pointed us to a table which was not set out for dining and said you can sit there but you can only have an hour. Apparently, if we only wanted to have a drink we could only stay for an hour Disgusting customer service, why are we only allowed an hour to finish your bottle of wine at outrageous prices. Certainly won’t be going again and have spread the word

Good service and nice food. Thought it was a little bit pricey for sandwiches and coffees. Not the warmest cafe I’ve been in

Pizzas are lovely, but ordered online & said 25 minutes for collection, arrived once told it was ready for collection and waited 10 minutes after already telling the woman behind the bar I was here to collect food. Eventually asked what I had ordered and had to name the pizzas and was told they had got stuck to the pan and had to re order and was asked to pay, had to tell the woman I had already paid. Waited 15 minutes for new pizza

Excellent Sunday lunch at Royal Hotel Waterloo Great value very well presented congratulations to chef. Well trained and efficient staff Lovely Liz served us Would reccomend Royal for Sunday lunch.

Lovely quality English breakfast & choice of homemade cakes. Large portions. Excellent value. Chocolate fudge included with tea & coffee, which is a lovely touch. Looks like a husband/wife team. Husband very welcoming & attentive, but wife on the two occasions we have visited was so narky towards her husband, the constant bickering very off putting.
