Spitroast Crosby in Sefton

Had an amazing night in the Crosby restaurant! All the staff were amazing! Our server Laura was polite and respectful, didn't have to look at the menu to tell us about the food and the chefs cooked our food to perfection!!

Was an amazing time at spit roast, the attentive yet not over bearing service was a token to the restaurants class.gabby in particular was great

Tried once this week as everyone spoke so highly of the place and it did not disappoint already been back three times in one week ! The food is fresh and absolutely delicious ! With a good variety for every one ! Not only that but the staff LAURA AND BO made us want to come back they are the best staff in the whole of Southroad by far !! Overpriced bland food. The new owners are clearly out to make money hand over fist. £7.50 for broccoli is a disgrace.

We had the Sunday chicken roast today and it was quite possibly the best Sunday roast we have ever had, and our server Liam, was also very polite and informative. The gluten free options are also extremely good. We would have no hesitation to both recommend and return!

I visit this restaurant every Tuesday. The staff are always very polite, helpful, attentive, generating welcoming atmosphere, this is including the chef Bob. The chicken meals are always cooked to perfection. I always look forward to my Tuesday visits at the Spitroast Crosby. I highly recommend this place.

Succulent chicken, vege cooked just right, and a fresh and crispy salad. Very nice and friendly staff as well. I would definitely recommend it.

This is a repeat visit. The service is friendly and speedy. Gabby and Laura were just the best. Then it comes to the food. I had the super food salad. As didn't want something to heavy after a long day at work. Delicious and healthy. Freshly made. This is a repeat visit and I'll be back.

Excellent, tasty food, with prompt service! Great staff! The best cheesecake in town! Was going to have the key lime pie, but was told that the cheesecake is normally a sell out, pleased that I changed my mind- the cheesecake was delicious! PS to the chef, the ice cream lasted until we got home! We will be back. Thanks guys 😊

We came here about 2pm for our Sunday roast dinner and we where not disappointed. Gaby was our waitress who was very attentive and an excellent , friendly young lady. Our chef today was Bo who did an absolute splendid job in the kitchen, delivering us both a mouth watering Sunday roast. I opted for the beef which was perfect and plenty of it. It came with peas, sweet potato mash and an extra cost I opted for a Yorkshire pudding, the size of a saucer, pigs in blankets, can't say no to these porkie delights, and roast potatoes. A roast wouldn't be a roast without them . My partner opted for the chicken which also came with the same as the beef option, and also had roasties, but he added cauliflower cheese. His weak spot, which was delicious as i had to sample it. He had what looked like a to be a large amount of chicken. So much so, it came home with us in a doggy bag. We both highly recommend coming here. Well done Spit Roast. 10/10. 😋

Absolutely gorgeous. Well worth the money!! I got chicken breast, mash, gravy and broccoli and it was stunning. Definitely recommend. Laura who works there was amazing the whole time made me a gorgeous brownie for desert. 100% will go back it was beautiful thank you

I have had take away and eaten in and can’t fault this place. Always amazing standard of food with good portions. The whole team are always lovely, special shout out to Laura & Bo (*sorry if I’ve spelt it wrong- big fella in the kitchen). Lunch menu deal is such good value for money- as is the whole menu tbh. Any of the homemade lemonades are a joke tbh they’re that good 😍. Boss place all around!

Wings Wednesday! We tried their bottomless wings and a few sides this evening served accompanied by sauv blanc and st Miguels . Amazing value , 1.5 hours of wings- four flavours to choose from ! I only managed 17 wings ... And dessert (!) We had their buttered greens side dish and they were amazing! We also tried their chicken burger and fries which is on the special board, delicious. Service was great, friendly and attentive. We can't wait to go back and try their Sunday roast now !

Went here today after a stroll on Crosby beach and it was absolutely stunning! First time and certainly won't be the last. Shout out to Lara (our server) and Bo (our cook), the food and the service could not have been better!

Ate here a few times and food is ok nothing special. Came here and before we sat down i said can my little girl use the toliet and the staff very abruptly said no only customers, which they didn't know we was going to be she was just desperate so decided to leave due to the way they were turning a 5 year old little girl desperate for a wee away.even when I said ahh she is about to wee her knickers they coldly said sorry no! Went next door and they said yes of course and we ate there instead. what type of people turn a desperate littl girl away, well people I wouldn't want to give my business too

This place is immense. 3 adults 1 toddler. Kids menu. Crayons and colour ins. Food was fantastic. Fall off the bone chicken so tender and juicy. Chicken Stir fry one of our party had was unbelievable. Great venue great food and great staff! Top marks all round. Definitely back and highly recommend to anyone to give it a try! Kudos well performed spitroast👏

This review is not targeted to the young girl who served us (didn’t catch her name), but she was attentive and did her best. We were firstly not informed on how to order, whether we were to go the bar or if we’d be served. Drinks and food both took a while to come, I appreciate it was fairly busy, but it was 4pm on a Sunday, and there were not many staff working. Two of us had the Mexican bowl and it was bland, except for the excessive use of coriander. The roast dinner was ok, but very over seasoned to the point it was sickly. The portion sizes were ok but overpriced. 4 medium sized drumsticks cost £8, came with a few strands of celery and no sauce. Mains themselves were expensive, and fries or sauce were not included. The loaded fries were good. Ordered the Mac and cheese to be told when my roast arrived that there wasn’t any Mac and cheese left. Why had the kitchen not informed the staff of this? Overall, we did not feel the prices of the items matched the quality of the food, the service was below average, and I don’t understand how this place has received the reviews it has. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but was not impressed and would not recommend.

We've had a few roast dinners, which have been ok, but the last one was very salty, and the greens had loads of stalks in. The staff are nice and friendly

Laura was our server and she was so friendly and polite. We didn’t feel rushed or pressured to choose what we wanted. The food was incredible and the whole experience was lovely.

Went earlier this afternoon, was initially told there would be a 30 mins wait for the food order which was fine with us. Whilst waiting for a drink I noticed that the restaurant wasn’t that busy, it’s actually the orders from take away/Deliveroo etc. I seen a group of ppl walk out as they waited far too long for food (but was sitting there watching Deliveroo drivers picking up numerous amounts of orders). It’s a shame as the food is lovely and you can see the staff are trying their best but I think if you are a business/restaurant owner maybe try not to forget why you have this busy venue and not get too greedy and have two many options for one small kitchen to keep up with. Too much pressure for the staff and you can sense the overwhelming atmosphere. Get more staff on or allocate staff to deal with individual customers/take aways and look after visitors that have traveled to sit in and enjoy the restaurant/table service you are offering. Update *****Went back today 24/05/24 and was served by a lady called Laura who was more than helpful and knowledgeable of menu. Food was gorgeous and service 10/10. Give it another chance and was worth it 🙌🏻 ****

Made an order non of what was ordered arrived called restaurant and they refused to take any responsibility. Its not hard to put food in a bag and yet they can't even do that.

Staff really friendly and helpful to get a table of six adults and one baby set up quickly. I ordered the chicken roast which was incredible, likewise a couple more roasts, salad and chicken breast meals. Alcohol free beer options, shame to not see any local beers on tap though, even Love Lane?

Had a great experience here last night! The food was brilliant, the halloumi fries are some of the best I’ve ever had! The saucy bird wrap was absolutely delicious too. My friend had the loaded BBQ chicken fries and half a chicken, which she really enjoyed. When I say this was some of the nicest food I’ve eaten in a good while, I really mean it! Laura our waitress was attentive and looked after us well, the chefs were working hard all evening (we were sat right near the kitchen!) and the restaurant had a great vibe to it. Will definitely be coming back again! Thank you for a great evening 😊

First time eating here and I wasn’t disappointed!!! Lovely vibe when we walked in, very friendly staff. The food was delicious. The chicken is to die for! Cooked to perfection and very flavoursome. I also ordered the bbq chicken and Monterey Jack cheese loaded fries, WOW. I’ll most definitely be eating here again very soon. Very reasonably priced, and excellent value for money. Thanks to people both at the front serving and the chefs at the back. A 5 star team.

Best roast chicken I've ever had 🌝

My review of this place from three years ago (3 stars) had to be deleted so I can share my most recent experience. First of all, if I want to order my drinks and my food at the same time, I must have a reason and I should be able to do so. But apparently it's not allowed at Spitroast. The waitress took our food order after about 10 minutes after she'd brought the drinks. Is it some form of stubbornness? I read other people complaining about it and I'm surprised nothing has been done about it. I ordered a wrap because you can't go wrong with a wrap, right? Well, you can. No crunch as salad mix was well cooked (or dead) and it was served as soggy tasteless strings of green. I was expecting nice chunks of chicken and but it came shredded and remained me of a food I purchase for my elderly cat. It was bland, missing pumpkin seeds, pomegranate vinegarette, avocado and feta cheese. Fries seemed to be double /triple cooked and there was no potatoes left in them, just some fat in crunchy shells. Did service improve my experience? Absolutely not. Staff was very slow and they definitely never heard of FHI-FHO rule. Therefore, we ended up with dirty plates still on the table while having a dessert. There was no middle meal check up, no one offered us more drinks. While I generally have nothing against waitstaff wearing hair down, the waitress was constantly touching and playing with her hair what is very unhygienic. The male server (manager?) should consider different type of jeans while at work as every time he lifted his arm I had to admire his grey tight underpants in full . There's casual and there's "casual". I don't think I'll be giving Spitroast a third chance.

Was really looking forward to a roast this sunday just gone 3/3/24, with all the trimmings and so we decided on Spitroast. Firstly me and my mum were left stood in the doorway for 10 minutes with not so much as a glance or even a smile. Finally, we were given a seat and told abruptly 'weve got no beef, no stuffing and no pigs in blankets'. No drinks orders were taken, and then we were ignored for 15 minutes after countless efforts of trying to get the attention of any member of staff .Not one person would look in our direction. I then had to walk over to a waitress to ask her to take our food and drink order. Another 5 minutes passed then she came over and started the conversation with 'weve got no Yorkshire puddings left now either'. I responded with 'Will there be any discount for all the things you don't have?' A crucial component being the giant Yorkshire on the roast, to which she responded immediately 'Errrr no'. So, after wasting half an hour with shocking customer service and several ingredients missing from the roast dinner I decided I would go elsewhere and told the waitress I would leave it thank you. Her response in a patronising chirpy tone 'Ok' and whipped the menus from under us and walked off. The group next to us told us as we were leaving that they had received the same treatment and that another couple before us at our table had also walked out. So I decided to take my business elsewhere and received amazing customer service from the moment I walked in. Safe to say I will never visit spitroast again. Also as I was sat being ignored I made an observation, which was that none of the chefs were wearing hair nets or beard snoods, which is a high risk of hairs contaminating the food, and if the hygiene standards are on parr with the customer service then this is a place you should avoid at all costs!!
