The Weld Blundell in Sefton

Went to this restaurant yesterday for Sunday lunch which was fabulous. Crispy toast potatoes, mash, cabbage and carrot and turnip all lovely, chicken moist, beef tender good flavour and bellypork to die for. Sticky toffee pudding for desert with lashings of sauce and ice cream. Excellent service always with a smile . Thank you to everybody who made it an enjoyable lunch especially the chef.😁

We attended as a party of 18 for a family meal. Food and service were both fantastic. Kads was a great host! Would highly reccomend. We will definitely be back soon

Had a fabulous family meal for 17 people we chose the small plates menu and it was fantastic the chefs Ian & Jen delivered amazing food and considering we were such a large group we all got our food promptly well done Cads was a brilliant front of house welcoming us and making suggestions which certainly delivered namely The Beef Shin Tagliatelle, Arranchini Balls & the deep fried Burrata we had a fab afternoon and would 100% recommend the Weld Blundell

Went with a large group for a family event and they where very accommodating the portions are perfect 2 plates are more than enough but get rid you are really hungry and the staff where very attentive. A perfect place for a nice evening. Menu Recommendations= Lasagna & Beef Shin Tagliatelle

Big table for birthday dinner, lovely food, kind staff, we were well looked after and everyone enjoyed it, especially the ribs. Good value for money. We will return.

I’ve lived round here for over 40 years and this pub is the best it’s ever been. Fantastic food, great service and the staff are so friendly. It’s deffo my favourite pub round here. Well done Rebecca, Sam and Cads.

Went with my family for Sunday lunch after reading about it on a previous visit We had the sharing board and it was excellent Food piping hot all fresh plenty of it Nothing too much trouble for the staff professional and very friendly The pub inside is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean This is my 2nd visit (breakfast) and it doesn't disappoint Cost £51. This included 2 large cokes. Excellent value for money as dessert is included. Next time will go to try the small plates menu Well worth a visit

Sunday sharing roast was sound and good value for money. Dessert included too sticky toffee pudding was great. Would recommend.

Genuinely a fantastic pub! We absolutely love it here and the staff can’t do enough to help. The food is unreal especially the Sunday roast, and we’ve spoken to the managers and owners a few times now and they are all so lovely! Best in the area by far

Literally the most unreal Italian dishes. Nice to see something a bit different in the area and there’s always something new to try out!! Loved to see all of the community events popping up since new management have came in and the weekend entertainment is always a ball! Very family friendly, we love to bring the kids here! ❤️ 👏 PS - they do the BEST veggie roast in the city on a Sunday…

In my opinion the weld blundell doesn’t get enough credit, the food is absolutely amazing & although it’s tapas the portions are quite generous especially for the price. Obviously Italian food isn’t for everyone but who wants the same old microwaved pub grub? All the dishes are fresh and tasty, including the breakfasts & Sunday roasts. Not to mention the homemade cakes & cheesecakes wow. The staff are very friendly & always go above & beyond and make you feel very welcome even when it’s busy. They also have a bar snacks menu if you just want a light bite & honestly everything is delicious so give it a try & don’t let any negative reviews put you off. Suppose you can’t please everyone!

We went for breakfast. I had avocado and poached eggs. OMG seriously the best I have had. The eggs were cooked to perfection. My husband had a medium sized full English with an added black pud. The service was very good too. A faultless visit. Thank you!! (We’ll be back).

A great venue for a funeral wake. Rebecca and the team were friendly and helpful from the first moment I contacted them. The buffet was excellent. Complimentary tea and coffee was served on arrival and after the buffet. The restaurant area was ideal for the 50 attendees. The staff kept it clean and tidy throughout. They also kept us updated with the amount spent on the bar tab. Overall a great experience. Thank you

Came in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Went with the tapas menu, all dishes amazing flavours and hot. The pork ribs were to die for!! They deserve success, staff, food, drinks all great 👌

The most delicious sandwich menu, I had Italian meats on a foccachia which was delicious and a side of scrumptious truffle fries and my daughter had gorgeous pulled pork served on a sub roll with fries. The portions are huge for such a good price, the atmosphere is warm and friendly and all of the staff are kind and attentive. Will definitely be visiting again soon!

Just got back after having a lovely Sunday lunch here with my family. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had the new Sunday lunch sharer for 3 and it was excellent. Well enough for the 3 of us and went down well with my pint of Guinness. Atmosphere was excellent too with Georgia ( singer ) offering some great back ground music.

Sadly 2 of our lunchtime selections were unavailable. 3 of us therefore opted for pulled pork sub with spicy apple sauce. These arrived without sauce, which we queried. It was brought late to the table.

Magnificent place for top quality food. I keep promising myself I'll pop in more often when I feel I need spoiling, and that's exactly what they do in The Welly, they spoil you rotten. I know Chef Martin has a special little recipe for his beautiful Eggs Mediterranean because there's a delightful blend of the sweet and the spicy, which is unfair really, because I'd like to try some of his other creations, but my mouth blurts out "scrambled egg with chorizo please" before my brain is in gear. Such is the excellence of his specially whipped eggs with the drizzled honey and the spicy Spanish sausages. Top geezer, Chef Martin, in fact, all the staff make you feel like a valued friend rather than just another customer, as some other places are prone to do. Hence my lovely morning chit chat with the beautiful young Rebecca, who always greets me with the most amazing smile and has a pot of tea in front of me almost as I walk in through the door. I really DO love my special trips to The Welly, and I think the special vibes rub off on the customers too, because everyone smiles and has a chat with you on the way in. It's a really friendly, warm and welcoming atmosphere, a lot cheaper than most other places to boot. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere and great prices, what's not to like about my favourite local eaterie. Definitely gets my FIVE STAR (PLUS) Award, I'm going back on Sunday to try out the Sunday Roast Special, that looks amazing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(+) #TopClass

A friendly welcome into the warm bustling restaurant area greeted our group upon arrival. We were seated without fuss having booked in advance, presented with menus and our drink order was taken giving us time to browse the fare on offer. We selected our breakfast items from the varied menu with the group having a mixture of hot and cold foods. Everything arrived promptly and together meaning no-one was left looking longingly at other people's breakfast. The hot food was indeed hot, not lukewarm, and was served with a smile. Every plate was devoured with nothing left over, always a good sign. Service was attentive without being overbearing and everyone we interacted with was genuinely very pleasant. Overall, a very positive dining experience and one which we'll be coming back to.

The highlight of our visits to the Weld Blundell is seeing Kads and the customer service he provides. Just the other day he was the only one serving rushed off his feet and made us feel so welcome and served us in great time. Love the atmosphere, food and service here. The breakfasts are incredible value for money!

Recently held a wake at the weld Blundell following the loss of our mum. Sam & the team where amazing. Very accommodating pre event & on the day we couldn't fault them at all & the food was wonderful and great value for money x

Had a lovely Sunday Roast here. The service is excellent from all staff, special compliments to Sam. She was great. The food is wonderful and portions are big. Complimentary dessert too. Will definitely return.

Limited food menu with silly names for sandwiches. Staff were rude and slow; we ended up having to clean our own table. Guinness was served in John Smith's glasses. Pub was fairly clean and up to date however and the atmosphere was decent. Can't rate the food any higher as they weren't serving much and what we had was basic and saturated in sauce

Love the food here, always delicious. The roast is amazing too and can't beat the price! Love singers and lovely atmosphere. Fab place to go for food and a drink

came here for a large family gathering for 3 birthday celebrations. We were really looked after by all the staff everyone of them!!. The manager also took time out to explain and recommend some of the dishes on the menu. The service was prompt and the food was good and very tasty. I would highly recommend here and will return in the near future.

I've been meaning to review The Weld for a while. It's a gem of a pub which in my opinion gets better and better. We started coming here as an escape whilst on maternity leave. They'd just been taken over by a young family and were accommodating and understanding to two mums who needed good, warm food, a place to chat, but also a place where we could come with our very young babies. The food is always spectacular, with lots of choice. It comes as its ready, as mostly there is a small plates menu. The ribs are amazing, please don't ever take these off the menu. We're also a big fan of the new sandwich menu - which is great value for money. The capresé and pasta dishes are also really tasty Aside from the amazing food, and lovely atmosphere - the warm welcome also kept us coming back. The FOS staff really can't do enough for us every time we visit (whether that's adapting to how we place an order, putting up with our indecisiveness, or getting us warm water for bottles. A special shout out to the blonde lady and cockney man (I'm so sorry I've never gotten your names)) . We've carried on coming here with a larger group of mums. We've also come back at different times of day and with different family members - the experience is always as good. Looking forward to returning soon - and best of luck for the future for this lovely family run pub.

Lovely friendly service with a good menu choice

Visited on Saturday for my mum’s birthday and the service was excellent we were very well looked after from start to finish, Kads was our waiter and he was amazing unfortunately I didn’t get the ladies name that was working with him because she was also amazing both extremely friendly. Definitely recommend it here the food is beautiful and very reasonable

Went here for lunch with my wife and grandson. Had Italian tapas, food was really tasty & waitress and waiter were excellent. They were very attentive, friendly and helpful with good advice about what food was on offer. Will be visiting again soon as I believe they do a fabulous breakfast. Roast dinner was just ok. Presentation good, but taste lacking and veg under done. On 2nd visit, having booked, advised wait of an hour for food and place full due to quiz, left and went elsewhere. Won't be back again.

Met friends for breakfast. Was delicious in lovely surroundings. The service was good except only one young lady who was on her own & very busy, well done to her who remained happy & smiling throughout!! If more staff had of been available would definitely give it a 5 🌟 review. Will go back again

Food here is lovely as the ribs just fall off the bones. Nice range of drinks too, all served by Rachel who was an excellent host and server for the time we were there.

Called in for a breakfast and it was the best full English we've had. Would highly recommend, and our dog was well catered for too, all with great service with a smile.

Amazing freshly prepared food, served hot. Not overly priced. Lovely venue with outdoor seating. Dog friendly too. Although dogs aren't permitted in certain areas which I think serves every one. I've had breakfast and evening meals here. All deserts freshly made also and displayed in glass cabinet. I found it difficult to make a choice because they all look delicious. Highly recommended!

Stumbled on this place by accident , I was driving past and seen signs advertised for breakfast thought I would try it. Been back on a number of occasions now with friends, superb breakfast every time very reasonably priced and great table service, nice touch free refills of tea and coffee. Friendly staff, especially a guy called Kaz, Nice warm feeling in the pub with lovely setting. Definitely recommend the breakfast and will be bringing my family back next time to try their tapas menu.

Went to our usual haunt for a breakfast treat but it was closed so we thought we'd give this a try. Was not disappointed. Food, service and value for money all outstanding. Husband had 'Big Breakfast' - I had poached eggs with hash browns on toast. All freshly cooked to order and a million times better than a certain chain who just freeze poached eggs and throw them in the microwave! Ten out of ten, highly recommended! 😃

Strange one! Went for lunch an expected usual pub menu, but it was more Italian restaurant! Mixed reviews from our party of seven. Some of the dishes where delicious and really good value. Others disappointed as they where expecting Toasties!! No local knowledge from staff about bus times, this pub is just up the road from a beautiful setting by the canal and should attract walkers an hikers you would expect staff to be well up on local knowledge.

Came in looking for steak and chips, thinking it was a pub grub type of place... so glad i stayed to try the new italian small plates menu, i ended up having 6 small plates... or what i thought would be small plates... each dish on its own... is quite filling... well anyway... i had chorizo gnocchi, garlic knots, tempura prawns, dirty fries, fresh pasta with pesto and aranchino bolgnese.. the food... OUT OF THIS WORLD... absolutley faultless and so tasty... i was so pleased that the dishes were staggered and came out as they were cooked... and i wasnt bombarded with a load of food all at once... so if you are in the area... you must go give this place a try...

We went for breakfast today and it was perfect. Food lovely, prices more than reasonable, staff where very attentive and decor was also really nice. Breakfast is served from 8.30am during the week and 9am on a weekend which isn't clear on Google. Glad we went and will definitely go back.

The four of us had a great Sunday roast at this lovely pub uesterday.two vegetarian roasts where excellent and the chicken roasts where equally fabulous.First time we have eaten here and would thoroughly recommend the Weld.Dog friendly and because we were so full with the meals ,the great staff gave us our sweet( cheesecake) boxed to take home.This was also delicious.

We went for a meal to the Weld Blundell on a Saturday night, with a tapas menu available. The waiting staff were lovely, very kind, very helpful and welcoming. The food was nice enough, nothing spectacular, with no real stand out dishes or flavours, may of the tapas dishes tasting very similar. Our main disappointment was the loudness of the music. It seemed there was a live act in the bar side of the building, not the restaurant, however it was played over the speakers in the dining room incredibly loud, which in all honesty ruined our experience completely, to the point we finished eating quickly just to get out. Just a shame as the venue and the staff were lovely and we would have liked to stay a little longer. I'm sure this wouldn't be an issue on most evenings though, so take this with a pinch of salt

Went with my mum for Sunday dinner. Mum's mobility is very poor and the staff member who served us could not have been more lovely. Didn't catch his name but he had dark hair and said he'd only been there a few weeks. He assured we were comfortable and had an easily accessible table. Attentive service. The food was gorgeous. We both had roast beef and were given a choice of pink or well done. The pink was melt in the mouth. Not the cheapest place but the quality was fantastic. Will definitely be back.

What an amazing surprise, walking through the pub to the back and being greeted with a beautiful bright elegant restaurant. The Italian food was amazing and the dessert delicious. The new owner ( little overweight baldy man) has just been to my house and attacked me infront of my children, they were hysterical and are really shaken, terrified even of this man. I was here alone my partners in work, over a Facebook comment. A Facebook comment over the over priced roast dinners and drinks. He had me on the floor with his fist raised and had to be dragged off me by a neighbour this was on my path infront of my boys who were screaming hysterically on the front door whilst witnessing their mummy being assaulted . Prior to him coming to my property he was selling drugs in the car park to a Carl B ( a friend of his who again has young children ). Another bully. I'm sure this will be on Cctv. Please be careful when drinking or interacting on their FB, very, very unprofessional business leaders. very upset little boys now. Is this pub brewery owned yes? ***updated** it's now come to light the little baldy man who runs this pub has a history of hitting and intimidating women ( heard first hand experiences). I've had four women come to me terrified to speak out because of the level of threats from him and his family. So please if your taking young girls to this pub be extra vigilant with them and watch him closely for their sake! He is apparently using our pub to sell his drugs also ( just word of mouth floating round respected locals). Still verbally attacking me infront of my baby and children, swearing, making threatening gestures around and about locally including the school runs. Calling friends and threatening them along with my family. Genuinely worried for the safety of his women and small baby ( any woman around him actually) if he thinks he can turn up at locals doors attacking women whilst their alone, physically and verbally infront of their young children. Their are many credible witnesses to this whole event all over a Facebook comment he didn't like about his food. One of my friends he called to threaten me to stop with the police and the brewery told me he asked her to work for him as he doesnt want local people working in his pub.this was also witnessed by another local. Dragging down a lovely community and terrifying children is the lowest of the low. Threatening to burn my house down if I go to the brewery or police. I shall be pursuing this at every cost availible to make sure no other women or children go through the trauma me and mine have been through over the last few weeks.... Absolute bully. ***Update *** Now sending threatening letters from solicitors trying to make himself out to be the victim. This man turned up at my house and assaulted me infront of my children over a Facebook comment... His sister brought my children into something that had nothing to do with them and threatened to reveal dirty secrets and then the brother comes to my property infront of my children, what wonderful parents raised these monsters please, bringing children into an argument then attacking their mother at their own house whilst their dads in work, getting men to ring and threaten me and my home and making death threat gestures whilst I'm on the school runs! His girlfriend snarling me round and about locally whilst I'm with my children ( could possibly be the face she's born with though, unlucky)

ordered the sunday chicken roast,the food was nicely cooked but the measly portion of chicken on the plate wasnt worthy of the near £!7 i paid for it

Wanted to give new menu a try but were very disappointed. The small plates were very small and not good. Very expensive for what it was. Service was very slow. There were only two other tables apart from ours to serve. We were told the food would be out in dribs and drabs. They weren’t kidding. The toddlers food never came until we had all eaten. No atmosphere, almost cold. Bring back our village pub we miss it.

Price of a pint gone up 60p in a week. (It was already expensive). No wonder this place changes hands every 5 minutes. This new lot won't last long at this rate. It was dead on a Friday night. Tonight and last week. Shame really.
