The best restaurants serving British food in Manchester North West

Our family of 5 stayed in YHA for an overnight stopover from Cornwall. Excellent cafe available from early breakfast till late dinner. Loved that it has vegan options for my daughter. Prices are reasonable too.

Absolute farce at check in could get a straight answer out of 3 different members of staff as to why the rooms weren't ready, the second room was finally ready at 4:25pm. Rooms are not sound proofed a party ensued at 445am next door had to call reception to get them to quieten it down. Rooms have wear and tear. Air Conditioning/heating didn't work, numerous numbers written in pencil on bathroom tiles. Windows didn't look like they had been cleaned in years with spiders webs also on the inside. This area has changed significantly in the last few years, wouldn't recommend and most definitely won't be back. Would have had a more pleasant stay at a Premier Inn

Use some common sense and put the “we are full” sign at the bottom of the stairs… not 23 cm away from the entrance

I recently found the wackey warehouse and my son loves it. We called in for some food afterwards and although the restaurant was busy, staff were able to move around some bookings to accommodate myself and 2 toddlers. (Sons Cousin joined us too) All the staff went above and beyond to help- even managing to extend our table stay longer so that I didn’t have to rush with my toddlers. (I think they could see I was struggling a little- also 6 months pregnant). Every staff member from the front desk to the table staff were friendly, polite and made us feel at easy and comfortable even interacting with the children too . My son wasn’t happy that he didn’t have a cone on his ice cream and the waiter tried his best to offer Maltesers to add to make him happy. They could also see me struggling with my take away cavery as the kids made it too hectic for me to eat. So I decided to take my food home to enjoy in peace later. They came over with a take away bag for me which made carrying my food along with all the toddlers things so much easier. Honestly from a tired, exhausted mum, little things like this are big things and a kind face/ interaction just helps the stresses of parenting that little bit better. I’m not normally one to write a review but the staff really do deserve a pat on the back. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough money to tip them but they do deserve recognition. A kind friendly service that ensures our next visit to the wacky warehouse will also transpire to a visit for some food afterwards too. Thank you ☺️

Consistentemente bien ahora. He estado aquí bastantes veces este año y su oferta y entrega han mejorado. El control suele ser puntual, la calidad de la carne es excelente (como su nombre lo indica) y el servicio ha mejorado, en parte creo que el personal de otro punto de venta que se está renovando se ha redistribuido temporalmente aquí. Esto fue escrito hace un año. Tristemente Whitbread cerró el restaurante y mis "puntos de recompensa" por dos botellas de vino expiraron. Más cerca de un autobús y dos paseos en tranvía en Salford Quays.

Couldn't find a better butty shop in Manchester, great variety, fresh and always served with a smile.

We popped into Shakespeare with friends and it turned out to be such a fun night out! The lively atmosphere was just what we needed, especially with the bonus of live music filling the space it really kept the energy going all night. Nothing beats the sound of a guitar and a good round of Guinness in hand. We also found ourselves caught up in the bottle cap game at the bar, taking playful guesses and cheering each other on. It added a bit of friendly competition to the mix and had us laughing between sips. Service was smooth, the pints were poured perfectly, and it felt like a place you could settle into for hours just enjoying the company and ambiance. Definitely one to return to for casual hangs and great vibes!

Came for lunch today, calcifer was amazing, very polite and friendly! Just had a bit to eat and that was great too, Thank you very much

Demi que nos atendió, es siempre amable y hablador . . lo que hace que nuestra experiencia sea muy acogedora y llamamos al bar nuestro local. Tiene una fantástica cervecería con sombrillas y siempre entrega una excelente experiencia al cliente : ) muy recomendable.

Great bad for live music, they did have slugs in the greenhouse style area out the back though

This place is a hidden gem with its quirky, homely decor and cute terrace. Felt like I was on holiday. I ordered the BLT which was good, BUT I found three individual eye lashes scattered in and around the food. I politely mentioned to the waiter about the various hairs in my meal and he didn't seem overly shocked or apologetic. I thought they might at least offer a machine coffee or take the (optional) service charge off. That has been a pretty universal response to something as gross as multiple hairs in food.

Staff were welcoming and friendly. Atmosphere was superb and most importantly the Afternoon Tea was amazing! An overall excellent experience. 👍

Great food and friendly staff. Good if you take meal deal when booking to stay here. Limited food on menu but does offer a good choice.
