Hidden away on an industrial estate, this small, friendly establishment run by Shelley and her husband, serves first-class English breakfast items at remarkably reasonable prices. The fried items (eggs, sausages, bacon, hash browns, black pudding, etc) are perfect, not in the slightest bit greasy. This place is a treasure.

This was our first outing with a wheelchair and disabled Mum who recently had a stroke. We were so worried and we couldn’t have been treated more kindly. The food was hot, tasty and fresh. Food was packed up for my Mum who only ate a spoonful. The singer was excellent and we had bingo and a raffle and won!! We had a fabulous, stress free day, thank you RBL Halton Team.

I've been raving about this place. Wasn't intending to come here. It was just happenstance and now I'm dying to go back. The warm welcome, the smiling, friendly waiter, the interior and best of all, THE FOOD! Oh my God! We both had the chicken chorizo and it was by far the most enjoyable meal I've bought in such a long time. Every aspect of the meal was delicious: the home made coleslaw;the home made relish;the lettuce was so fresh; the sweet potatoe fries; the sour cream; the sweet chilli jam;the chicken and chorizo and it all came together in a glorious frenzy to tingle and delight your taste buds. A masterpiece. Okay, okay, but near enough. I nearly wept. I had the cherry bakewell blondie for dessert. I didn't think you could possibly get two equally fantastic courses but you can at this place! Another exquisite treat which, again, was homemade with such care and expertise. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

Highly recommend the Mini Afternoon Tea. The venue is a pure gem. The food was delightful and service is outstanding. A booking for 18! They made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The Mini Afternoon Tea was devine. It didn't include a drink, but even so, it was excellent value for money.

From start to finish - top class!! Such lovely friendly and welcoming staff greeted us on arrival. The food was, by far, the best meal I have had out in ages. It is very reasonably priced. My steak was cooked exactly how I'd asked for it. One of the specials was a 4 meat lasagne, which my sister had. It was the right sized portion and she said it was absolutely delicious. There were 8 of us and every single plate was empty at the end. My nephew has allergies and nothing was too much trouble to cater for him. What was nice was it wasn't the staff that came and asked if the food was ok but the chef himself. He spoke with everyone dining. Which I thought was a lovely thing to do. I can highly recommend a visit

I hate motorway services breakfast and the prices. I found Sizzlers Runcorn and enjoyed the best fry up I've had in ages. The ladies are chatty and helpful.

Lovely pub . Lovely grub!. Great staff. I would like to say how grateful I am. I had 'organised' a large group walk for the lighthouse trail and decided we'd have tea at Child of Hale pub afterwards. I say organised loosely as it grew quickly from 8 to 18 people from nice idea to let's just do it next Sunday with the more the merrier attitude. I realised, even though. Id not been here before that was his was likely to be problematic as it's not a huge place, and it's popular. I called on the Friday to see if I could reserve a table for 12...hoping the other s could book for themselves. Sure enough too many to accommodate at short notice. But I secured a table for 8. The other four secured a separate table but wasn't guaranteed to be seated in same area. Then another 4 friends secured a table and the last two also secured a table. So was very very pleased we all would get a meal after our walk. The walk ended up shorter with the rain and some just stayed in the pub for a drink instead until we got back. But to our grateful delight when we did. We were told all 18 of us where seated in the same area 😁 Was so happy as the point was bringing all our friends together. And though the walk didn't come off quite as planned , we got what we truly wanted, the association together which the staff made possible. I had a lovely roast chicken dinner at such a reasonable cost. Friends all said they enjoyed their food too!! We will definitely visit again with better organisation and more notice to the pub!! 🫣😁 Thankyou. Very satisfied.

Had a Raj toastie made with garlic bread and a range of exotic ingredients. As I ate my way through it a fantastic rainbow of flavours hit my palette! The lime pickle, the cheese, the onion bajee and different sauces from mint to chilli. Delicious!
