The food that Mark prepares is second to none, he is the reason we keep coming back! The food is spectacular and would highly recommend, he is always open to adaptation to suit the customers needs!

Just had a Sunday roast here today.What has happened to your once fabulous food.Had the chicken roast,you could not cut the chicken,overcooked and dry,tasteless roast potatoes which had just been dipped in the deep fat fryer,tasteless as was the tiny bit of veg.Had a Christmas dinner at The Toby Carvery for half the price and it was beautiful.The Bells used to be so good,pull your socks up or get a new chef.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here tonight me and my partner both had the rump mother in law had fish n chips (forgot to get a pic) can’t fault the food or service chef came and had a lovely chat about the food we’ve also booked in for Sunday lunch

A group of us (20+) had Christmas dinner last Thursday and it was inedible. One lady refused to eat it, another told the chef it was the worst meal she had ever had and lots more complained. It was disgusting. Manager not interested.

Sliced meat, not turkey, no mash and the roast potatoes had skins so tough you couldn’t cut them (been kept warm too long) same with veg. tough as old boots. One lady had 32 sprouts on her plate. Yorkshire pudding so black and burned couldn’t eat it. All barely warm. Same with the slice of Christmas pudding - cold. Many others complained when they were paying for their meal (£25+). Complained to the Manager the following day who said he would look into it but went back a week later and he said none of their other patrons had complained and they had the same meal at the same time. Different room. Our room was freezing.

Went for Christmas dinner with my line dancing class, 30 ladies on 5th Dec 2024. Not one dinner was edible. The potatoes so hard you could not put a knife in them. Turkey roll with edges hard and inedible , cold vegetables. We were put in a cold room upstairs that was not decorated for christmas. We didn't even have a Christmas cracker on the place setting. Every meal was inedible. I believe we have written a letter of complaint and no offer of refund, compensation or apology has been received. £24.95 wasted. I personally gave my feed back to staff and the chef as I was leaving. so they are well aware of the situation. I will now send my complaint to the brewery.

Honestly? This place is really, really poor on every conceivable level.. my sister decided to have her 50th birthday meal here, 16 people, Wednesday night, pretty quiet in the restaurant, all pre orders sent in advance. No problem. Personally I thought we were off to a pretty poor start when I saw the spellings on the pre order sheet - salt and “perrper chicken” and “shredder beef” didn’t fill me with much hope but that’s by the by. We were dining upstairs in the coldest room known to man (given this was December and, you know, generally cold, it would have been good for some heating to be left on so that we could not have to sit with our coats on like we were in some 80’s throwback movie) Given that they had already received our pre order AND we had this double checked by the waitress we sat and waited for our starters, confident that it would all be hunky dory. Half of our starters came, half didn’t. Literally - half of the table were sat watching us eat for a good ten minutes before theirs arrived . Our poor Vegan friend was eating her starter as the mains were being served as they completely forgot about her. The lack of coordination was utterly baffling. I had ordered halloumi for starter which for some reason was laced with some mad goats cheese jus which was absolute torture to eat, and given that the description mentioned nothing but halloumj and honey, I was not pleasantly surprised when I saw the addition on my plate. Mains were all, collectively barely mediocre at best - I ordered carbonara, and was met with a plate of burnt flavoured pasta - the taste of a literal burnt grill pan scraped onto some pasta - I sent it back and was met with a bowl of pasta & cream, which once I took a shot of salt & pepper before each mouthful was just about palatable. I didn’t eat it. My niece had preordered a bowl of chips with her ceasar salad main. Only after THREE repeated requests for these to the waiting staff were a bowl of anaemic, undercooked chips brought to the table for her to endure. For what I would imagine to be a relatively simple event to execute ended up being seemingly impossible for the chef and staff to actually carry out. No one came to ask if anyone else’s meal was ok, the patronising waitress said she’d “stay and wait to see if the new carbonara was ok” making me feel like I was inconveniencing them - despite me being the one paying for the food that was inedible and therefore completely within my rights to request a properly cooked dish. The icing on the cake (no pun intended) was when the waitress then came up to my sister (who knew it was her birthday) and asked her what she wanted to do with the birthday cake and plates that were yet to be served. A surprise that was arranged for my sister, ruined by the complete and utter lack of insight and attention to detail shown by all staff throughout the entire evening. I absolutely would NOT recommend, nor would I return. I beg you, go to McDonalds instead.

Our first visit and definitely not our last! My friends treated me to lunch for my upcoming birthday. Very friendly welcome from Hannah who looked fab in her halloween cat make up. I am a real foodie, so wasn’t sure what to expect from “pub” food. We all had different meals and every meal was well presented, cooked from scratch and delicious. I didn’t leave a scrap of food on my plate! The chef came to ask if we enjoyed our food which was a really nice touch. Well done for serving exceptional and well priced food. Can’t wait to go back for Sunday roast dinner 🥘

Had a lovely meal on "Wine Wednesday" on 18th Sept '24; fantastic deal where you get 2 courses with a bottle of house wine each thrown in. The food was delicious, really well prepared, and Hannah gave us the best customer service throughout the evening. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

It’s great to see a pub as big as this still exist! And what a large beer garden it has to boot! Service was also better than most, and it’s nice to see Aspall on draught And I don’t usually take this many photographs of somewhere so it is interesting too

Sunday lunches are amazing. The waiting staff are very polite and can't do enough to make sure your visit is enjoyable. Pub has a nice ambience.

Came for tea after reading some good reviews about the food. Unfortunately we had to leave after 50 minutes as no food had been forthcoming, this is despite the fact there were only 4 tables in (including ours) at the time one having finished. In that time we only saw six meals leaving the kitchen. Our heart went out to the young girl front of house who was acting as maitre Dee, food server, table clearer, glass washer and drink server seeing as she was the only bar staff person on duty. She was actually doing a great job in impossible circumstances. What was happening in the kitchen I have no idea. Such a shame we were unable to support a local business had to go to Nando’s to get some tea.

From start to finish - top class!! Such lovely friendly and welcoming staff greeted us on arrival. The food was, by far, the best meal I have had out in ages. It is very reasonably priced. My steak was cooked exactly how I'd asked for it. One of the specials was a 4 meat lasagne, which my sister had. It was the right sized portion and she said it was absolutely delicious. There were 8 of us and every single plate was empty at the end. My nephew has allergies and nothing was too much trouble to cater for him. What was nice was it wasn't the staff that came and asked if the food was ok but the chef himself. He spoke with everyone dining. Which I thought was a lovely thing to do. I can highly recommend a visit

The Ring O’Bells is a lovely pub at the heart of Farnworth village and we absolutely love visiting. The food is delicious and the staff are fantastic, particularly Hannah who always goes above and beyond for her customers.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch in this cosy pub. The food was piping hot and was also delicious. Our experience here today was fantastic thanks to the loveliest waitresses Hannah and Ella. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Unbelievable food! This place is slept on. Service is incredible, staff so friendly and welcoming like they really enjoy their job and we even got a visit from the chef for a chat! Must come for a pint of Staropramen and custom made cocktails to your taste. 10/10

Pub and restaurant looks really nice now. Restaurant decor is lovely. Although I enjoyed my meal it was just a basic pub meal which I felt was overpriced but saying that food was piping hot, presented well and enjoyable. Staff lovely but waitresses very inexperienced not able to provide answers to much needed questions re drinks etc. Liked the fact the Chef mingled with customers and asked customers for their feedback on the food he'd prepared. One to watch. Will go there again.

We were booked in ,5 adult 1 child today. Met with a warm friendly greeting and shown to our table. We ordered various meals which all came piping hot and very well presented. Although maybe a little short staffed or just extra busy our service was excellent. Even the came out and served whilst checking everyone was happy with the meals. We will be back again as we all really enjoy our experience. Thank you

Visited the bells today for the bells in the park event. WOW what an extremely enjoyable day. All staff worked so hard ,as did the owners. Although the restaurant was closed today pizzas and fries etc were available and just as good. A massive thank you to all involved. I will be back for the next one. Can't praise you all enough.

Amazing food and brilliant service. Our waitress Hannah was so helpful and friendly. We had a large group booking for my son’s communion, and all of the meals came out together. We will definitely be returning again soon!

Been coming here with my girl friends the past few weekends… First of all, the pub & bar is so clean and the decor is so homely, the green & gold is just so vintage modern! Secondly, weve eaten in both the restaurant and outside, and how we can even get a table is beyond me, this place should have queues out the door! How unbelievably fresh and delicious the food is, and dont get me started on the garden pizzas. Wow. The two main chefs are some seriously talented people. Thirdly, the drinks! You can tell they look after their lagers, and the cocktails dont stop at the menu… Theres cocktails of the week and if you ask for a specific cocktail, its getting made for you with enthusiasm!!! Lastly, the service. This pub is ran by the most welcoming, funniest and happiest young girls and we always leave feeling elavated and in high spirits. Fast service from what feels like your friends, theyre amazing all of them. By a country mile, THE best food & drink place in widnes. Its not even my local, we taxi here!

Wow, that food was WAY beyond anything we have had in a pub before. One of our party commented it was expensive and if it had been your run of the mill 'ping' food it would have been but everything was cooked from scratch, excellent quality and good sized portions. From the presentation to the tasting, it was perfection. The chef even came out for a chat. We will be back. Thank you for a wonderful welcome and a great family meal. We can't recommend enough.

Can’t recommend this place enough. Mark is such a talented chef the food is incredible we haven’t been disappointed with anything we have tried since he took over the kitchen late last year. The staff all go above and beyond to make sure the service is 5 star especially Hannah and Maisie.

Nice cosy pub and lovely interior with lots of space. Good live music artists on every week and a decent selection of drinks.. service can be a bit slow but apart from that is a good pub.

This has often leads us to believing our money was complelty wasted and should of gone to somewhere more deserving. The Ring O'Bells IS that somewhere. Not only was the service above and beyond what we expected, we would go as far to day that they provide 5* service. In example, i asked for an iced coffee that i was unaware they didn't serve and they took it upon themselves to research a "how to" video and made me one regardless. This to me was greatly received as not only was it delicious it was a really kind thing to do. Now then for the food, the chef has to be commended as the food here is unbelievable, especially for such an affordable price, you feel as if you are sharing a homely meal cooked by a loved one. So glad to have found this pub whilst in the area with work. The food was outstanding (both times we visited) and the service was even better. Sarah behind the bar was an absolute star with a huge smile and a great attitude and Neil was welcoming and so helpful with excellent maths skills ;-) Keep up the good work and thanks for the enjoyable experience

We all enjoyed Sunday lunch at the Ring O'Bells. Nice atmosphere. Very clean and comfortable. 3 of us had the Sunday roast... really well presented, hot and tasty. We also ordered the extra of cauliflower cheese which was nice. Granddaughter had childs meal of chicken bites and fries. Service was polite, friendly and efficient. We think it is good value for money. Drinks are a reasonable price and there is a good choice. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Ate here last week as part of a large group visiting Widnes and Runcorn to see the interesting river crossings. The pub staff were very welcoming and the service couldn’t be faulted. Everyone seemed very content with their menu choices - only the fish was a little overdone- redeemed by excellent stick toffee pudding.

A lovely warm greeting from Hannah who looked after us throughout our meal, and always with a smile - even though she was run off her feet. Delicious food, obviously freshly prepared and served hot, which doesn't happen everywhere. Hannah was so polite and friendly we felt very at home and an unexpected visit from the chef, checking we'd enjoyed our meal completed a very good evening. Thank you both.

We were served by Hannah, who was an absolute joy, so welcoming, attentive and friendly. We had two courses on Saturday night and everything was well presented and tasted fab.

The food is lovely would definitely recommend the chicken Kiev. Service from Hannah was great and friendly. Chef popped out to ask us our views on the food too so staff were really attentive. We’ll definitely be back!

First time visiting for food in a couple of years. The standard of all the meals my friends and I had was very good. The hand cut chips are the best I’ve had in a long time! Fish and chips, burgers and Thai curry all fresh, hot and well presented. Service was very good. Chef came out to each table to check everyone was happy with the food, which I think is a quality touch. I rebooked to take my parents for lunch a couple of days later. The light bites menu was perfect for lunch time. Although smaller than main dishes, still fairly substantial! Excellent value and quality. Well done, it’s lovely to have a pub with decent food on the doorstep.

Came here on Thursday as we drove past by chance and glad we did! Soon and we came through it was a happy atmosphere and we was greeted by Hannah who helped us with what was popular on the menu and at bar the bar. The food was incredible hard to pick from so many options and the drinks was so good we ended up staying and getting a taxi home will definitely be our new regular thanks guys

Great food, friendly service, and affordable! The whole package. I went with a few friends for some drinks and abit of food in the restaurant and we loved everything we ordered didn’t have to wait long for our food either which was a plus not sure the ginger girls name but she made sure we got everything we needed which was spot on we ended up staying later on into the evening when the live music was on and the pub really filled up great place to spend the evening I especially can’t thank the staff enough aswell as just before we left I lost my car keys and they managed to run round and find them for me I think the young girl was called grace 10/10 place for a Saturday!!!

Very lovely Pub but the barmaid who served us (Sarah) had no customer service skills whatsoever! I later asked for her name when she served us again as she was so not interested in serving us we asked what options of wine was available she was very rude making snide remarks! As paying customers we felt very uncomfortable! Especially when the prices were over any other local pub around the area. I was then later coming from the smoking area where i was infront of her and she rudley pushed passed me when the the door slammed into her shoulder and the bouncer said to her (thats karma) so he clearly knew she was a horror to your paying customers too! I work in a pub myself and i make sure i make every paying customer feel very welcome! This was our first time visiting the ring o bells widnes and we can assure you we won't be returning seems to us she's only OK with her regular customers and not any new customers from the area that you receive which is very disappointing as apart from her outcome we found the establishment lovely.. hopefully Sarah doesn't cost you anymore custom!

We had the 'lite bites' fish and chips which were really enjoyed. My niece had the chicken burger which was huge. Chef and manager came to check we had enjoyed our meal. It was perfect.

This is the best place in Widnes and the local area in general. Head over to Farnworth, a short drive from Cronton and Widnes town centre and enjoy a drink or an excellent meal in this country pub. We had lunch there twice in one week. The food is excellent, the prices are modest, the atmosphere is friendly and the service is great.

We had a fantastic xmas meal leading up to xmas, food amazing and the chef came out to speak to us to check if ok. He's only been there a couple of mths and the food is the best ever.

Went on Christmas Eve for the Sunday lunch menu, not expecting too much knowing how crazy Christmas Eve is. All 11 of chose the roast beef and it was excellent. Yorkshire puddings were great, gravy spot on and the veg fresh and tasty with a particular ‘shout out’ for the carrots and parsnips which were fantastic. Staff were great too. Only slight ‘fault’ but I do get it, we had to keep going downstairs for our own drinks. Overall though excellent and we will certainly be going back for Sunday lunch in 2024.

I really wanted to love this as everyone wants pubs like this to thrive. It looks a lovely place to eat in, but the food was really poor. The service however was absolutely excellent and a credit to the place.

Amazing food . Staff was amazing . Food was superb was hot parter tried the pie of the day fish and haddock loved it . I highly recommend this place for the family. I enjoyed my lamb hot pot and a nice hot chocolate with baileys . Perfect for this cold weather !! 10/10

Popped in today for a quick drink and shared a steak sandwich and chips. Place is really nicely decorated. Front of house staff were very welcoming. Food was delicious and well presented. Will definitely come back and have a proper meal, when we have more time. At last we have somewhere nice in the town to bring out of towners when they come to visit 😃

Great night ruined by one of the bar staff members extremely rude and refused to change my drinks that had been poured when the coke pump had ran out and just ignored me when I was trying to tell her (called Sarah). Also screamed at me ‘I heard you’ when I repeated my order as I thought she had never heard me. Luckily another member of staff called Grace was accommodating and apologised for her colleagues poor and inappropriate behaviour.
