I googled dog friendly cafes near me and this came top of the list. Unfortunately it transpires they are NOT dog friendly. Not even allowed outside Nevermind. We went elsewhere

Busy no tables available for 40 min

Food was nice with good portion sizes but really could do with investing in some sort of booking system. We called to make a booking for Mother's Day and were really shocked when they advised we didn't need to book. Upon arrival we were told they were at capacity and there were 5 other parties waiting before us and that it would be 30 minutes or longer before we could be seated. Don't get me wrong, we expected it to be busy given the special day but have read reviews on here and alot of them also mention having go wait half an hour or so for a table. I personally wouldn't have waited the 30 minutes but others in our parties wanted to wait so we did. The food was lovely as was the service, even amending some meals to suit the children and they were given a box of dinosaurs to occupy them. It would be good if they read their reviews though and put some kind of booking system in place to save people waiting around.

Highly priced for what u get not worth the money I got soup no roll partner got barn breakfast 2 drinks 25.00 scandless.wouldnt cater for my dietary needs so ended up with tiny bowl of soup.left still hungry.

Was rather busy and we needed to wait, food was OK but not a great choice for me.... my partner quiche was as dry as a loofer

Over rated, over priced average food and menu with very slow service, took the waitess 50 minutes to take our order. Barn was far too noisy. Very dissapointed!

Had to wait for a table, due to being busy at the time. We waited 40 minutes, but was worth the wait. Food and service was amazing. Couldn't find a parking space and had to wait for customers to leave which took about 15 minutes. But overall we will be back

Lovely staff, but a big echoey room. Food 'meh' prices above what I expected for the quality of what was served.

Consistent. Food is simple, fresh and tasty. Atmosphere is nice. Service... Well you can drive half an hour to get here, then sit in the car waiting for a table for 45 minutes because they won't take bookings. To come here for lunch takes up 4 hours in drive time, wait time and service and it's off putting. They took our drink and food orders at the same time after we'd been sat for over 10 minutes. After the food arrived they didn't come back to the table once, until we got up to pay. We all wanted more drinks but we'd been there for so long we just wanted to go home. Whoever is the manager has got the menu right, but they really need to train their staff, for as hard working as they all are, they could be doing better.

Had a great breakfast. Worth the wait.

Service was quick Staff seemed ok, we did not have much interaction apart from taking our order and when paying the bill. The food was well presented, the eggs tasted quite watery and for the price I have had better for cheaper. It wouldn’t stop me from returning and I would eat here again.

We were Recommended to try here and was not disappointed .

First time visiting and wasn't disappointed. Food was excellent. Had to queue to get in but it was worth it. Would recommend getting there for opening time if you want breakfast as it fills up pretty quickly

Lovely place to visit. The food was very nice and a great price as well. We would definitely visit again. It was nice to see the Alpacas out of the window also. Staff were attentive and managing to complete a lot of tasks.

Hare field was recommended and didn’t disappoint well worth the trip over from Ashton in Makerfield would definitely recommend and will be going back well done Brett & Liz

I have been here many times before and had a pleasant experience however this morning was disappointing. Four of us went for a birthday breakfast this morning. My partner began eating his breakfast and found a huge hair cooked into his scrambled eggs. I showed this to the waitress and a new breakfast was made. However, this did put me off my food and I opted not to eat my breakfast. Upon asking for the bill, we were surprised to see the full amount. My partner queried this considering the hair in the food and had to go back and forth to get the cost of the breakfast removed from the bill. It's unfortunate really as all of my other experiences have been pleasant however I really don't think customer service was great this morning considering what happened. We won't be returning again but I do hope that management will consider how they respond should such an incident happen again.

First time visit for breakfast. It was really busy and we had to take a pager and wait outside for around 25 minutes. You can visit the gift shop next door to pass the time. Was it worth the wait? YES!!. Breakfast was very good with fresh local products used. My eggs were more orange yolk than yellow and cooked to perfection. The sausages and bacon were very good. Black pudding tasted amazing. I had a pot of Tea and full English,the wife just had full English. The cost was just under £25 for the both of us. Will I go again ? Yes I will be back very soon. I highly recommend this place. Ps: The staff here are very busy and polite.

First time here and it was fantastic cannot believe it's only 15 mins from home and we hadn't been. Amazing cafe with great food, lovely little gift shop farm butcher and cosy garden centre. Will definitely return and already planning some garden furniture from the craft shop on site....brilliant.

Called in today whilst passing. Was impressed with the food quality and the efficient service from the team. I decided to try an old English sausage toast and loved it. Coffee was excellent too. Think I'll be passing this way more regularly in future.

Very popular and busy over the lunch time period. Good atmosphere, reasonable prices. Quality plants and gifts to choose from. Effective queuing system to allow sequencing of customers into the eating area.

Not just the cafe, they also have a gift shop and a butcher too excellent

Ordered food to share and also a dessert. The food is very good and the chef is very keen to deliver. I watched him first apologize and then replaced a meal that wasn't quite to their taste. He came out again to check and really cares. I have to say that the Belgian chocolate brownie was the best I've ever had. It was amazing. The staff are lovely and the environment is nice with a lovely view to the back over fields. Would recommend just for that chef. He's really good.

came here on a Friday morning for a nice lunch with a friend. I had the jacket potato with cheese and beans, and a coffee. Lovely food, lovely place!

We had a lovely lunch here this week. It’s in a beautiful setting with views across the fields and the alpacas milling around. The staff were friendly and attentive and the service was good. We enjoyed the food - the roasted beets salad was great and the piri piri chicken flatbread was delicious. Excellent coffee as well. We will be back.

Everything we asked for on Sunday at 2 pm wasn't available.. ice strawberry or raspberry tea, wedges, lime soda .. We have been waiting for our drinks for ages even though they have been ready to serve. I was thinking of going and getting them on my own.

Thought this might be a nice place to grab a coffee and catch up on a little bit of studying with my daughter. Arrived at 11.30am to be told straight away they weren't serving breakfast and I'd have to wait until 12 to order lunch. I explained it's fine as just after drinks for now. If we decided we wanted food later the we'd have looked to order. Ordered drinks at the table and asked what food I wanted. Explained again just drinks for now and the waitress looked a little confused or annoyed couldnt decide. We got some papers out to work on whilst we waited for our drinks. After the drinks were served the lady who took the order came back and asked again if we were ordering food. Again I explained just drinks for now and was then informed if I'm only having drinks then I can stay no more than an hour. Now I thought this was a coffee barn and not a restaurant and felt my money spent on coffees wasn't sufficient for them. I'm aware this is a business and we can't just sit here for hours with one drink and that was never our intention, I'm happy to order more drinks or cakes etc to make my visit worthwhile for a coffee shop but I was left feeling I'd made the wrong choice. Left after one drink feeling I won't bother returning as I was made to feel uncomfortable and unwanted. Not a great start to our day and not a place I would recommend now for customer service or a welcoming place to be.

Staff are amazing and best breakfast in this area for sure. No complaints really nice place!

Me and my son visited for breakfast, from the minute we walked in the service was fantastic. The food was amazing and piping hot when it arrived and value for money. We were served by Margaret who was really friendly and very informative. Would highly recommend this pace.

Really lovely place. Bacon on Toast was really tasty but too much for me. Views are really nice especially the alpacas.

Waited 10mins to have order taken, waited an hour for two breakfasts. There were other people similarly affected, the family sitting next to us were there before us and were talking about leaving. The food was ok, not worth the price we paid, overpriced and certainly not worth an hour wait. We will not be going back

Walked in, first member of staff ignored us. Second lady quite nice but warned us long wait for food. She spoke with kitchen staff and then informed us 25 customers waiting for breakfast. Food apparently good but kitchen is obviously far too small for the size of the venue. Went elsewhere.

Didn't eat or drink -so can't comment . Purchased from the garden center and the butchers -service was excellent in both. Will go back and try the food and drink tho .

Food was mediocre and the staff were rude. We sat down and was notified that there would be roughly a half an hour wait for food- which we were happy to do. But we waited 40 minutes for our drinks too (two waters and two coffees) My partner had a bad back and was walking apparently too slow for the blonde haired waitress that was rushing him to walk quicker, keep in mind that it was in between the breakfast and lunch service so no customers were being served so I'm not sure why she was in such a rush.

Good all round, I had the halloumi burger well cooked and seasoned enjoyed it.

Great little place if you're looking for a quality breakfast. All food tasted extremely fresh and prepared very nicely. Was a bit hectic when we went in but that is to be expected with how busy and popular this place is. I would definitely come back and would look forward to trying the lunch menu as well as the food items seemed really good. Recommend the full English here with a side of halloumi.

Heard lots of good things about this place. My friend took me this am for my birthday… omg what great service and food 😳 Best sausage I’ve ever had ( ended up buying some and fabulous bacon from the butcher next to it ) Nothing too much trouble for the very busy friendly staff The place was spotless too. A young lady called Erica served us What a lovely customer facing person to have working for you 👏👏 she was a credit to your establishment. 100% will go again ….and again etc absolutely scrumptious

I meet a friend and we had coffee only but the atmosphere is great. Lots of families, tables outside, friendly staffs. I will be back with my family for sure.

Went today with a friend. Ordered two barn breakfasts (which were very nice) ordered drinks and friend likes strong tea! Asked for an extra teabag for the pot, was brought over on a plate and told it would cost an extra 50p for the tra bag! He sent it back, as we were already paying £32 for the breakfast and drinks, left a bit of a bad taste when spending that much that they charge you extra for a teabag! Won't go back again simply because of this!

It was a very busy cafe so it was packed. We didn't stay Looking on the menu the food seemed quite expensive but looked from what we could see

Popped in to get breakfast before dropping the wife off at work and yes it was busy. Sat down and waited 35 mins but no-one came to take our order, icing on the cake was when they started to take orders from peopel who arrived after us. We decided to leave and were then questioned if we had paid as we walked out !!! Very poor service with not even an apology. Avoid if you don't have plenty of time to spare.

It's lovely to sit outside on a sunny day and see the alpacas, too. Lovely breakfast.

Popped in for lunch, given a pager, told there would be a 25 minute wait and directed towards the on site gift shop and garden centre. 20 minutes later, and with a lovely hanging basket packed in the car, we were sat in the vibrant dining area and ordering lunch! The place was really busy, a great atmosphere, and the staff really knew what they were doing. The service was excellent, friendly and very professional. The lamb kofta flatbread was delicious! We will definitely be back!

Had lunch here today (6/6/24) with my brother. We were served by Margaret who was an absolute gem of a lady. Service was great, although had initial wait for table… visited the gift shop, but despite other comments on here about the gift shop, no-one twists your arm to spend money, so don’t know why they’re moaning about it… our food was delicious but couldn’t eat it all - we were very greedy! I also came here for my birthday last week and again, despite waiting, we were served fairly quickly and had another delicious lunch… all in all two lovely, delicious visits… Will be going again as soon as I can… 😄

We were recommended Harefield Barn by a number of people and it did not disappoint. Lovely large, clean bright space and welcoming from the second you open the door. Staff were attentive and friendly. We both had the Barn Breakfast, this was well presented, beautifully cooked and delicious, great tasting coffee too. Would recommend and will definitely return.

Visited today with friends, told 20 mins wait even though 4 tables, empty, therefore visited gift shop , which has nice items but tend to feel it's a marketing ploy to get more footfall in the gift shop! Given Buzzer Allocated a table, still other empty tables, given our menus and then ordered after about 10 mins. We then requested that the drinks should be brought with the breakfast, as increasingly find that we have to re order another drink as it takes so long for the breakfast to arrive, which adds another £10 on yr bill,! After about 20-25 mins breakfast served, but no drinks. Asked if we wanted any sauces , I mentioned our drinks, reply they're coming, no sign of drinks for another 5 mins , another server came to ask about whether food ok, yes but still awaiting drinks, another 8 mins I'd actually requested the drinks from our original waitress 4 times before they arrived, by that time food was cool but we had begun to eat, very poor customer service from waitress , who was very disinterested! Very disappointed!

Always busy so be prepared to wait. Food is basic with sandwiches and jacket potatoes etc but a nice spot for lunch. Can be a little bit noisy inside like a canteen. The butchers next door is very good

I couldn't try the food at this place because the receptionist kept letting others go ahead of me, even though I was waiting in line for a table for myself, my partner, and our daughter. It was frustrating to see people who arrived after us being seated first. It's annoying to wait 30 minutes in line while watching newcomers get the preference that should be yours. We left feeling deeply disappointed with their service and how they treated us. Maybe they should have put someone fairer to welcome customers.

Lovely food as always. Service is a little slow. Also felt quite rushed by an older waitress who kept asking if we wanted the bill despite being on our second round of coffees after eating.

Service with a snarl - a short tale The food, drinks and ambience are first class. Unfortunately the customer service is lacking. After waiting for 30 mins for a table of four, we were purposefully ignored by the waitress who didn’t seem interested in acknowledging we were ready to order. After 10 mins of trying to catch her eye and being ignored / not even acknowledged , enough was enough and we got up and left. We went to a venue that was equally as good that wanted our business. I will think twice on going here again.

Staff are friendly and made small talk even though was very busy they all had a smile and happy to help. Highly recommended and will be returning. The woodlands eggs benidect was outstanding

Went in for the first on Friday 23rd February,although have passed afew times,my loss I would say,yes we did wait for around 20mins,but in my view excellent food,did not wait too long to be served once seated,very impressed the the place,and the review reference the guy pie and chips not to be seen,Well maybe the local chippy might have been the place to go.Every plate of food that I saw coming from the kitchen looked fabulous.Will certainly be going back to try further.And to top it all a very well stocked butcher's and a small but very well stocked garden centre.

Going for breakfast? bother go somewhere else. Can never just walk in and eat due to there stupid no booking system. Every time I have attended iv been greeted with a smily waitress telling me It’s 45 min or an hour wait, clearly just look After there regulars sort it out 👎🏻

This is a lovely place. Run by lovely staff, very friendly and obliging. Coffee really good. My friend knocked his coffee over. They cleaned everything up with no fuss and replaced his drink. I know he felt awful, but they treated him really well. Would recommend.

On arrival we were told it would be a 20 min wait and were given a buzzer which would buzz when our table was ready. Went for a look around the garden centre and gift shop (very nice, but probably just an easy way of getting you to spend money whilst you wait!). After 20 mins, we were seated and served within a few minutes of looking at the menu. Bacon butty was a good size, 3 slices of bacon and very tasty (bacon was slightly overdone and was a little tough as though it had been left out for a while). Barn breakfast was a good size, the sausages were a slightly unusual taste though - can't quite put my finger on it. All fairly reasonably priced, and I did enjoy it overall - just not really worth the 20 min wait and the major hype (it was packed!). The whole place was immaculate, and the staff were very friendly, which is always a winner. Will be back, but it's definitely not dethroned my current breakfast spot.

Visited this lovely Coffee Barn on 27th January at 12.15pm. There was no queue which was unusual however a good queuing system is in operation at busy times. We were welcomed in a friendly manner and shown to a table for four. The service was very prompt and efficient. We all ordered various sandwiches or toasties and drinks. All were presented well and tasted delicious. Coffee Barn was large, clean and spacious. Toilets were immaculate. All staff were helpful, willing and professional. Good quality food at a reasonable price. Parking excellent. Worth a visit.

Great food, bit of a wait for it but I wouldn't let that put you off

Great busy Cafe, the place is spotless. The food, especially the quiche, was amazing, as were the staff, especially Margaret. It's a busy little place but they give you a buzzer, so no need wait in the queue, you can go for a browse in the garden centre, butchers & the lovely gift shop, or have a wander onto the outdoor terrace & watch the alpacas grazing in their field. Will certainly be returning....

met some of my family for chat ,good atmosphere really nice surroundings ,didn't eat myself ,but other's enjoyed their food ,service was 100 %especially from a girl called (Sophie )she was excellent and charming and made a great hot chocolate ,I'm the only one who lives local ,so I'll definitely be calling in again

Great food, relaxed atmosphere, and if you're lucky and go out to the terrace, you might meet some alpacas at the watering hole :-) Since my original review (probably pre-covid) it feels like the standards have got higher again (it was already a 5* review), which is only echoed by how busy it was for a Monday lunchtime, with a wait of about 25 minutes - but they handily have the bleeping tag system for when a table becomes available, so we were able to sit in the car out of the cold.

We always come here for breakfast. Best poached eggs around. Lately though the breakfast has been lacking. It's becoming more style over substance. The flathead mushroom is not cooked enough and the half of tomato is never soft enough, It's quite hard when your eating it. We still love it here but would love to see the breakfast go back to being amazing again

New to this area looking for somewhere to rest and get some food and found this wonderful little café I will definitely be going again

Great food if the service was a little slow. Having said that, it felt like we were followed in by a coach load of people. Quite pleasant, could do with blinds to block the sun. Staff friendly & couteous. Will definitely go again.

Has gone downhill in the last couple of years. Very slow service, don’t have everything on the menu. Staff are miserable! Merry Christmas
