Tasty, fresh-cooked breakfast. Nice atmosphere, quick service and lovely staff- what more do you need for a quick brekkie?

Very inviting from the outside however, tablecloth’s where sticky, chairs a bit grubby as well as the floor. The food was very good, portions very good. Glasses, cups and utensils not very clean, marks around the cups. This tea shop has the potential to be excellent just needs a deep clean and a little attention to detail.

Me and my boyfriend popped into Tea for Two for some lunch, lovely smiley staff, good food with very reasonable prices. Scone with jam and cream was lovely! Would visit again when next in Widnes. X

Went for breakfast with friends (we do a daddy day care morning out) and went for breakfast we were welcomed with a smile from the owner and made to feel right at home. The coffee was wonderful and the breakfast was superb best eggs in the northwest for me. Really would recommend to anyone.

A lovely little tea rooms in the centre of Widnes. Beautiful decor inside and a warm welcome from the staff. Afternoon tea comprised of a selection of generously filled sandwiches (cheese and pickle, egg mayonnaise, ham and tomato and chicken and bacon) with mini homemade quiches and a very delicious homemade sausage roll slice. Moving onto the sweet selection, mini biscoff cheesecakes, rich chocolate brownies, mini strawberry trifles and a large slice of Victoria sponge, followed of course by fruit scones with clotted cream, jam and strawberry skewers 🍓 All accompanied by a large pot of tea - we were offered a refill too ☕️ At £18 per person it was just delicious and exceptional value with attention to detail on the quality and variety. It was our first time in Widnes and our first time at Tea For Two but certainly won’t be our last - we’ll be back! 😃

Walked in here today, only one other customer. Was totally ignored by the owner and left after 10 minutes. Manageress just laughed at us when we left. Looks like locals only. An unpleasant experience.

The barm's are very small for the price with just a few crisps on the side and no salad as advertised, nice hot coffee though

I visited the lovely little cafe several time and always found it a very pleasurable experience. Firstly I noticed that it was spotlessly clean and had a nice happy feel to it. Then found the staff to be totally helpful and friendly. I would advise anyone to visit Tea for Two as I am absolutely sure you won't be disappointed. Full marks all round.

Nice cafe,shame about the food and staff! I went here last week, the place is nice,cute even but the food is abismal. Done at a very low cost with poor quality ingredients but charging rediculous prices.Would not recomend it to anyone, dont go there!

Wouldn’t kill the manager to crack a smile and be friendly to customers instead of being boring , also record breaking time for longest people to cook eggs

Just a few minutes walk from the main shopping area, tea for two is a hidden Jem. We had sandwiches, tea, coffee and lovely minestrone soup. It was lovely, and will be back there when in Widnes.

This cafe is small and cute wheel chair users and pram pushers may struggle as a result of the size. Vintage style is really nice along with the music. It all adds up to a nice feel. The tea is absolutely diabolical though. Cheap tea bags maybe?. Food is fair. The ambiance makes it worth a visit if you are passing. Would I purposely make a trip to there no I wouldn't. The reason being, you aren't guaranteed a table as its capacity for guests is limited and the teabags arent to my taste.

Nicely home cooked meal and served by very friendly staff. We definitely return again. Good varied menu.

We visited this wonderful cafe today and it was really excellent, nice pot of tea and good menu as well I had a jacket potato with homemade chicken curry topping whilst my better half had a lovely tuna toastie, we will definitely return as the tower of tea for two afternoon teas looked lovely Very pleasant staff and spotlessly clean, it earns my first excellent review

Wonderfull vintage style tea room serving fresh cooked meals and afternoon teas. Had Breakfast here this morning. Had the new "Slimmers Breakfast" Not our first visit and won't be our last. The food is always freshly cooked and very yummy. Service is always warm and friendly.

My friend booked this for us as I was looking for a treat for my daughter as part of a Christmas present. The kids painted Christmas decorations upstairs as we arrived a little early. There were lots of decorations and ornaments to choose from. Afterwards we went downstairs and were seated beside the window. The decor is really cute and if I could have brought the cafe back to Ireland I would. The staff couldn't do enough for us even though we were a large party of 5 children and 2 adults. Our drinks order was taken and we ordered some extra sandwiches to go with our afternoon tea. Shortly after getting our drinks the food was brought out and all I can say is "Wow!". Our food was brought out on little picnic tables which was seriously cute!! There was plenty of food for everyone including sandwiches, quiche, scones with the most amazing cream I have ever tasted and more. What a truly fabulous experience in a cute little Cafe. Thank you to the staff for having us and FYI I didn't eat another thing until around 6pm that evening. I hope to visit again next time I'm over from Dublin

Just visited this quaint little cafe for the second time-a real gem in the heart of the shopping centre. It is very small, but manages to have a light, welcoming atmosphere and good tunes playing in the background creating a nice ambiance. This little cafe does not make you feel 'rushed' and the pot of tea served to us was huge! I do so hate establishments who offer afternoon tea and charge you for asking for another when you are served only one cup-this cafe has it spot on-a huge teapot, and plenty of milk too.The afternoon tea served here is plentiful and scones are gorgeous! I noticed other customers enjoying a varied amount of items from the menu, which has lots to offer by way of hot and cold snacks.All in all, I would recommend and return again and again.

This is a pretty common stop for my friend and I. It is a pretty small place slap bang in the middle of Widnes. It is lucky they are literally next to Natwest bank because they don't take card, only cash. I absolutely love their soup and Sandwich option! I had the potatoes and leek soup with a ham sandwich, a glass of fresh orange juice and an oreo milkshake and it came to under £8! Really hearty food that makes you want to come back for more. I would say they need a little work on the customer service as it took us over 5 minutes to actually catch their attention for more drinks. Apart from that no complaints. It is pertinent to mention that I wouldn't say there is enough room for wheelchair access due to how cramped it is.

Bought a voucher for, tea for two for my mother in law for mother's day.She could not praise it enough.Very friendly staff nothing was to much trouble.She love the old songs playing and decor.She will deffo be going back.Thank you for making her Mother's day that extra bit special.

On the 16th May we payed our first visit to Widnes. Tea for Two was recommended to us by Wiodnes model centre. The service was quick and the food was very nice. It was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly we felt most welcome. When we pay our return visit to Widnes we will go to the tea rooms again. Thank's to the two young ladies.

Eaten here quite a few times as mum loves it. Food is all home made fresh. Even the chips are proper hand-cut chips. Although not had the afternoon tea, have seen a few customers having it and it looks yummy.

I had the luxury afternoon tea for two when visiting with a friend and my daughter around lunch time.

Tea for Two is great value for money and the food is fresh and tasty, but I am most impressed by the super friendly staff. Good espresso at only £1.20. I love to visit this small café in Widnes, in fact I crossed the new bridge from Runcorn just to do that this weekend.

Located at the start of the older part of Widnes town centre are these quaint little tea rooms which used to Coffee and Cream. We held a friend's Baby Shower Afternoon Tea here on a Sunday afternoon, had use of the private room from Midday until 4pm.

Got here in the pouring rain just as they were finishing serving for the day. As we walked in the staff were singing and stopped quickly when they realised we had come in, which we has a laugh about. We were served with a great afternoon tea of cheese and ham sandwiches and warm fresh scones with jam and cream which were delicious. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and did not make us feel rushed in anyway to finish so they could shut for the day. The decor is a delight and eyecatching. Well worth a visit and we will return in the future. Thank you.

I go tea for 2 with my friend and his granddad. It is a really nice place and the food is truly exceptional. The staff are wonderful and deal with you perfectly. I really enjoy visiting the cafe as it is different from other food places in Widnes and isn't just fast food.Plus it was a nice little nostalgic place to dine in with my friends over summer - prices are low but the food is still faultless .At first i though it was just a standard cafe but now it is my favourite place to eat in Widnes.

visited here for the first time today with a friend used my voucher what was bought for my 30th and I must say it was lovely. staff was friendly and food was spot on,sandwiches was warm and tasty cakes was fresh also had quiche. Can't praise it enough really lovely quirky cafe you feel like your taken back in time

Just found this cafe in widnes it's right at the bottom were I've never been before. Pot of tea for two £2:40 and you can get at least four cups very clean and well run waitress was very friendly and helpful definitely recommend

Visited here for a quick lunch with family. The place itself is far too small for how many people go in and staff were very rushed off their feet, trying to meet everyone's needs whilst adding extra chairs to tiny tables. I would advise arriving 20-30 minutes before you want to eat because it takes a while to come. The food (soup and sandwiches) was average and edible. I also had a scone which had more of a biscuit texture and seemed a little too well done! My mum also ordered the same scone which lacked the fruit! As a. Student in chester, this place is not match for any chester cafe for afternoon tea! We had no choice of jam, it was simply generic strawberry. Moreover, the cup I was given for my tea had some black bits in. Overall, average and good for Widnes but wouldn't be in a hurry to return.

My last review of this cafe I was disappointed, I've recently been back and had a lovely breakfast, soft yolks fried eggs, what I asked for, cup's not cracked or stained and well cooked breakfast(lovely sausage)Well done.Will be returning.

Could not resist popping in after noticing the near 5 average rating. We arrived at lunch on a Saturday lunch and found 1 table free! no fears of the empty cafe no one likes!As you enter you notice that space is at a premium with the drinks bar just small unit leaving as much room as poss for the mostly occupied chairs. The place is maybe 50s type decor and audio and as you'll see the menu is well laid out and they have a specials board for both food n all types of drinks, so definitely something for everyone.We were asked if we'd like to order just minutes after we sat down but appreciated the busyness (as one table was cleared it would be occupied in the blink of an eye). Though we ordered there and then. I was famished so went for the biggest breakfast they had. Only the sausage was a bit of a let down, made up by the herby hashies and complemented perfectly by an oreo milkshake. A trip upstairs takes you to the powder room where before the toilet doors a high arm chair as well as a baby changing table is available. Stairs are a bit steep but great options and all inkeeps with the olde tea rooms feel. We'll be back again, maybe in the afternoon for tea n cake, so lovely.

I went here on a first date and it turned out to be a really lovely experience. It is quaint and old fashioned but they had lots of modern ideas which we really liked. We weren't mythered too much and even though we only had a couple of drinks we were treated well. I would go back in a heartbeat.

About six months ago I visited this cafe and loved it, very quaint. I called in again and was very disappointed with the presentation, old fashioned teacups are nice touch but were cracked and stained, table cloth felt and looked unclean, four fried eggs and all four with broken and hard yolks and alas no loo paper in the toilet.Staff friendly and nice but because very small place didn't like to complain and have other customers hear.

We have visited this cafe on several occasions & had the Slimmers Breakfast which has always included beans, & always found the Staff pleasant until today. We advised the waitress we had no beans and shortly after a woman came from the kitchen & shouted at us saying she had worked there for over 2 years & beans were never served with the Slimmers Breakfast. It was not what she said but the aggressive & loud way she spoke to us that upset us - we will never visit again

Recently called here for a lunch. We had a cooked breakfast and a tuna jacket potato with a large pot of tea. Can't fault the tea , the breakfast was ok - bigger portions over the road. The jacket potato - minute , with an equally small portion of salad and coleslaw, was definitely not worth it. We would not choose these items again. In fairness, some of the other meals looked better. So we might consider trying something else or give our business back to the other place over the road.

In the Monsoon month of Decrmber we were about to give up Christmas shop when hunger got the better of us. Drenched as we were we soon warmed up witha doorstep topastie for my wife and a medium sized breakfast for me. Piping hot and served along with decent coffee. A welcome addition to Widnes.

Went into Widnes this morning, and boy was it cold and extremely windy, so went into this cafe for breakfast. We received a warm welcome from the staff, and had an excellently cooked breakfast. The Christmas Cinnamon Latte was superb, even better than Starbucks. We will definitely go back again, perhaps to try one of their Afternoon Teas as reading about them on the menu they sounded brilliant!!

What a wonderful place well worth a visit, with freshly home cooked meals , lovely atmosphere , wonderful happy warm staff as soon as you walk through the doors you are treated as "a friend". Excellent value for money !!! And most importantly in my opinion the toilets are lovely so fresh and clean !!!! We came for lunch will definitely be back for a beautiful afternoon tea !!! And I booked a place to take my grandson to have food with Santa and receive a present ........ What a lovely idea for the children ..... Thanks for a lovely experience.

I visit this beautiful tea room in the heart of widnes on an average of 2/3 times a week and find it a glorious oasis in a desert of other cafes that boast frozen chips, fast food and table and chairs that are bolted to the floor. The food is fresh, home made and always arrives piping hot. The kind and welcoming staff always go out of their way to make to make your visit exceptional. The decor is vintage and homely like no other eatery in widnes..... All this and they make a cracking brew!! This place has a massive thumbs up.

We visited for a family get together at tea for two we was not disappointed. We had a mixed order of homemade lunches and afternoon tea, All of which was amazing. This was our second visit but most of my families first. We will deffinately come again and have also booked a private function here for nans birthday. Emaculate clean and great service

We go to this teashop regularly this is just what Widnes needed. We love the fact that we can stamp a loyalty card every visit and receive a free drink after so many stamps. Might not seem a lot to others but when you visit often it's great. Homemade scones are to die for. Sam and the staff are all great and very welcoming. Always happy and the whole tea shop has a warm vintage relaxed ambience. We don't go anywhere else. The coffee beats the big chains like Costa. Give it a try you won't be disappointed

I wasn't very impressed with this tea shop. My friend booked it as a surprise for my birthday. When we got there they weren't expecting us until an hour later, so it ended up being a bit slap dash and hap hazard. I've not been back yet so not sure if it's improved.

Such a charming little team room, friendly staff and delightful food. Their afternoon team is excellent value, all in all well worth a visit!

This little ray of sunshine put a big smile on my face.Went with my son, we had 1 mega, 1large breakfast with toast, tea and 2 cokes.We were offered loose leaf or tea bags served in a china tea pot with bone china cups.Great service, lovely ambience with subtle music in the background, an absolute delight.The best £15 I' ve spent in a long time.Tea for two, I doff my cap.

My friend I ate here in this lunch time after recommendation from my daughter, we wasn't disappointed. The food was delicious the service from the staff was great too. Highly recommended, we both had omelette which was served with salad and chips. Looking forward to returning.

Visited her on Saturday with my daughter we both had the tea for 2 which at £6.25 each was good value for money, The waitress was very helpful swapping my tea for a hot chocolate at no extra cost (i don't like tea) the scone was home made and warm the jam and clotted cream beautiful.I had a ham sandwich my daughter cheese (it would of been nice to have the option of brown bread) but nothing majorThe venue was very clean and tidy and we loved the 50s music

Called in here due to trip advisor reviews and slightly underwhelmed. We asked if we could have chutney or pickle with the cheese sandwich which seemed too much for the waitress to comprehend. Nicely presented scones but would have preferred 2 fruit ones as oppose to one plain and fruit that came, without being offered an option , a d dont like scones warmed in a microwave before serving but disappointed to see the waitress spill someone else's coffee, wipe the floor then wipe the other customers cup with the same cloth before serving it !. Basic hygiene rules should be adhered to.

Went here for my best friends nans 80th, we all had afternoon tea cakes were amazing and staff were really good! It was perfect as we had the whole cafe to ourselves and were aloud to decorate! Definitely a place to visit xx

What a great little place I so hope the location doesn't make this lovely cafe close I've seen so many open and close down that end of the town centre. However, they seemed quiet when we arrived around 12:45 but there was a queue by the time we left which speaks volumes for its current popularity. The decor is lovely with different types of China tea cups, old fashioned weighing scales, oxo tins (which my Mum remembers from her childhood), original style coke bottles and lots of other Nic Naks. The bunting in the window gives the place a lovely cheery feel and the crochet table cloths a nice touch, the glass over the top to protect against spills a great idea. We had tea for 2 which came served on a lovely vintage cake stand and the sandwiches and scones were fresh and delicious, the only suggestion I would make is more salad. The tea pot had a mismatched lid but this kind of added to the homely feel of the establishment and something I can imagine my Granny doing. My daughter (7 years old) loved the place and has asked next time we eat out can it be here which is a great compliment to tea for 2. Her children's chicken nugget and chips was hot and an appropriate size for a child with a tiny pot of ketchup, the chips were homemade and I was thrilled she didn't eat them all so I could snaffle them myself. This is a great little place and I highly recommend it. We'll be back

Just been to my niece in laws baby shower here what a lovely place . The sandwiches ,cakes ,tea and coffee were absolutely delicious . The lady who served us was lovely kept us well topped up with everything and all with a cheery smile nothing was to much trouble . I will definitely be making another visit and would highly recommend it

A very pleasant little tea room with a wide choice fare. Staff very friendly and was greeted with a smile. Had the Ploughman's which was nicely presented and quite adequate. Would have preferred a lump of cheese rather than grated but this is only a minor point.Will definitely come again.

Visited this place today for first time after hearing good reviews and menu and food looked appetising however service severely lacking. Sat there waiting to be served and not one but 2 tables who came in after us were served first, were we invisible?? Wasn't as if this place was full on a Monday mid morning. No greeting when we entered or acknowledgement that we were even there. Anyways I pays my money and I takes my choice and my choice was to get up and leave to somewhere who wants my business. No good having great food if you don't get served! Wont be back.

we had tea for two, plenty of sandwiches on a 3 tier plate plus scones with pots of jam & cream. Pot of tea or coffee which was re-filled at no extra expense. Hostess was lovely and didn't rush us at all.Overall a fab hour or two spent here. Will definitely go back - they also do other food besides butties.

Myself and my family went to tea for two on a recent visit back to the UK. We loved it so much we went back 4 times, it's beautifuly decorated and with the old music you really feel like you have stepped back in time. The owner was fabulous, various times I seen her sit down with customers for a chat, including us. All the staff were really friendly and attentive. The food was to die for, all home made and delicious. They will make anything you like, not just what's on the menu! I had the best Latte I have ever had! Homemade chips is definitely a must too. I really enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely be returning! Gwyneth Smith.

Really nice friendly owner who was very warm and welcoming.Spotlessly clean and nice atmosphere.However,shortly after arrival place filled up and we struggled to attract attention for drinks refills plus a customers cigarette smoke was blowing in from the outside table which was unpleasant.Nice food though.

It was like stepping back in time. My mum came from Belgium and I had heard about the cafe, it lived up to it's reputation. I am always disappointed when I go out to eat, and this ticked all the boxes. Te good was perfect, lovely pleasant staff (all dressed in immaculate uniform, clean and smart), wonderful atmosphere and you can tell it had been built with love. I have never made a review before but this little business deserves one. I will eat here every time I visit the area. Loved it!

Myself, 2 friends and my little boy came here for some dinner and a catch up! I had wanted to try this place for ages so this seemed like the perfect opportunity and I wasn't disappointed! From the second I walked in the staff where friendly, welcoming and couldn't do enough for you! Myself and a friend shared the luxury afternoon tea for 2 and it was prefect! The portion size was very generous and the food came out quickly and the scones were still warm. I will definitely be coming back again and again! My only disappointment was that I didn't take any pictures of the food! I would recommend this place 100%

Everyone enjoyed themselves, food was delicious an cakes too!! Sam the owner is lovely an all staff here are really friendly!! Would recommend this place to anyone xx

my friends sister organised her a surprise baby shower at tea for two, we had a lovely night. They made sure the drinks where always full, nice selection of sandwiches and cakes were lovely. The decor is really nice and the cafe has a nice welcoming atmosphere.

Live quite close but had never been in before until saw the reviews on TripAdvisor. What a lovely place. Nice staff, excellent service and most of all lovely cakes. Will be visiting again soon.

Sam has done an amazing job, everyone enjoyed it and always kept on top of the drinks making sure everyone had plenty. Lots of sandwiches and cakes . All very tasty and sandwiches fresh with plenty of options with the fillings. Can't wait to return with the baby now :)

Lovely food sam makes u feel very welcome she is a lovely person and all the staff r very helpfull. The atmosphere is warm and cosy with the old records they have on the cd player.

Food is very good never wavers always cooked to a high standard. The owner always looks after customers in a timely manner

I visit this tearoom often with friends so when I saw they opened in evening for small parties I was delighted. we took my daughter and several friends and had afternoon tea in the early evening. The food as usual was superb . Sam and her staff work really hard to make a lovely atmosphere lovely food and I know several of the girls with us that evening have been back in the daytime .

Cute decor and fabulous food-what more could you ask for? Lovely staff and relaxed atmosphere.Will definitely be back for more.
