Went for daughters birthday had seen some good reviews but was very disappointed we went for the Sunday lunch but unfortunately they don't seem to do them anymore .Found the portion size very poor for a grown man Yorkshire puddings to large and overcooked to much oil and garlic on vegetables food wasn't warm wouldn't recommend and won't be returning.

Most of the food was really nice, but some of it was not great, some was dry and just didn't have a generally nice taste, however the food that was good, was really good! The food and drinks were worth the price, However at the bar there was a lovely lady (50s ish) who looked like she was training two new people at the same time! How is that fair on her! Was very chaotic at times, but the lady was absolutely lovely, the two blokes that were being trained, not as much.

A really enjoyable afternoon celebrating our Birthdays (mine and the Mrs) with family. The service was great, the food was a delight and the atmosphere and ambience was really good. Thank you to all the team for a warm welcome and a great afternoon.

Lovely situation and very good food. Staff are extremely friendly and efficient. We were lucky enough to have reasonable weather and we’re able to sit outside. One of the few restaurants that will actually let you book an outside table. Would definitely recommend.

1st time in this pub and I was blown away. Not only was it super friendly. The range of beers on offer was a great suprise. I even sampled some of the bar snack to help soak up the beer. I can highly recommend the Salt and pepper chicken goujons. I will definitely be returning. Fabulous little find.

Lovely beer garden, reasonably priced, decent food! BUT…. Came for my birthday with family including 5 children who have extra needs (Autsim and ADHD) we were aware of the children running wild, spoke to the lady who runs it and said if they start being too much let me know. A gentleman who I presume works there, then came out, and explained he just nearly dropped some food whilst serving because of one of the children running about, so I explained we were sorry and I started to gather the children back, to which he decided to have one more shot and said ‘well would you like hot food thrown all over them’ In a rude and abrupt manner may I add. To which I then replied ‘I did say sorry’ and he then proceeded to say the same thing again. In a sarcastic, rude, manner. I appreciate places are busy and children shouldn’t be under the feet but the way he came across was rude, disrespectful and disturbing. We won’t be attending again

Sad.....called in 4/5 months ago, just average and told staff same, overpriced for £57 x2 scampi and chips, peas x 2 drinks. Today, gave them another chance.. Strange, different menu but all very expensive prices, and higher than last time! Took drinks from bar sat and looked at menu.... pondered the selection and for a quick bite of lunch far far too dear... again £8.60 alantanic prawn etc... lamb burger £18.90 chips etc .. chuffin hec! Actually got up and walked out, before offering to pay for drinks only.. The manager looked stunned a little, but told him," to dear mate, far too dear"..he generously did not want payment for drinks which was a great gesture. Told me the head chef fixes prices not him, which I can appreciate, but these prices explained a couple of women drinking in one corner and another couple far back from bar, think dining..This place should be packed at least 10 or more tables taken, bring the prices down from London prices and get rid of the chef!!!!reading reviews for the food.. What a shame good location, busy road, plenty of passing trade, tourist route.. why so poor in reviews? Chef! prices, Chef! empty seats, Chef...due to poor reviews and price... Time for a better chef!!! This place can't survive long like this.. 2 visits in 5 months off us, but putting us off trying again. Sad.. typical failing country pub but better managed and better chef, should be booming, successful... someone needs to get answers before it closes...

The advert said it had cocktails two for one from the cocktail menu, but there was only for four cocktails available. they were all premade cocktails and tasted disgusting. Attached is the misleading advert that says cocktails are from 5 pm to 7 pm when the actual pub didn’t open until 6 pm, and these cocktails weren’t even included on the list.

Our first visit, the Townley Park area, covers a large area. There's a golf course and an extensive park, we just went to the garden centre and cafe. Nothing special with the cafe, but the food we had was ok. Only 3 stars for the long wait to have the food served.
