Went for daughters birthday had seen some good reviews but was very disappointed we went for the Sunday lunch but unfortunately they don't seem to do them anymore .Found the portion size very poor for a grown man Yorkshire puddings to large and overcooked to much oil and garlic on vegetables food wasn't warm wouldn't recommend and won't be returning.

A Tuesday afternoon visit, place wasn’t too busy, got a choice of seats a member of staff greeted us- ordered food and drinks no issues- two flatbreads, sweet potato fries and onion rings plus 2 ginger beers (£37). Food was colourful, fresh and tasty, really enjoyed the flavours. Staff attentive but not overbearing overall a pleasant experience I would recommend this place no probs, they also seem to have a decent vegan and gluten free selection.

Lovely situation and very good food. Staff are extremely friendly and efficient. We were lucky enough to have reasonable weather and we’re able to sit outside. One of the few restaurants that will actually let you book an outside table. Would definitely recommend.

1st time in this pub and I was blown away. Not only was it super friendly. The range of beers on offer was a great suprise. I even sampled some of the bar snack to help soak up the beer. I can highly recommend the Salt and pepper chicken goujons. I will definitely be returning. Fabulous little find.

Called in here while waiting to check in to The Oaks. What a lovely meal we had and a very hard working waitress ( didn’t get her name) Compliments to the chef faitas macaroony cheese and chill and rice all perfect. A good surprise

We had a family meal at the Thornton Arms at Christmas time 2024. It was absolutely superb! Great menu, great service, great food. As near to home cooked food or better actually. Super friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!! We also had a Christmas meal on Christmas Day, in a word-it was superb!!! A better meal & we have yet to experience. Thank you to all concerned.

We tried the Ram inn because my partner has always wanted to go here as she said it looked nice and looked busy. We visited on a Tuesday afternoon so wasn’t expecting it to be packed. Well we were very disappointed! We sat on a table by the window and perused the menu (which is very small and nothing spectacular) but all the time we were really cold. We moved tables and chose another table in the main dining area. There were only 2 other couples in so plenty to choose from. The price of the food was very expensive but we thought maybe it’s really nice, we don’t mind paying high prices if the food is good! After moving tables we were still cold, there was a big open fire, but this was unlit. I chose a burger (£18.50) and my partner chose fish and chips (I think around £18) When the food came we were very disappointed, my burger was on its own with a small pot of chips and the fish and chips was nothing special, frozen peas and frozen ketchup! The burger was what looked like a thin frozen packet burger that was dripping with fat, very underwhelming when I was expecting a premium burger for that price. We did not complain, as I feel that complaining shouldn’t be needed, you should get it right first time! 2 meals and 2 drinks came to £45! As we were leaving, we were the only people left in there, they decided to light the fire! Pretty pointless when there is nobody in. We will vote with our feet and not return. Which is a shame as this could be a lovely country pub, but seems like it is being ruined by greedy landlords!

The advert said it had cocktails two for one from the cocktail menu, but there was only for four cocktails available. they were all premade cocktails and tasted disgusting. Attached is the misleading advert that says cocktails are from 5 pm to 7 pm when the actual pub didn’t open until 6 pm, and these cocktails weren’t even included on the list.

In the top 5o f the worst spoons. in the UK and iv been to a lot. Cramped dirty place people jammed in at the tables, tables full of plates, glasses etc had to move them to sit down, gave up. Moved to a little room near the bar stunk of dope. People doing deals ,final straw went to the gents 1 inch of water on the floor reported it to a bar person who shrugs their shoulders.. Beer cheap as usual but one to avoid.
